2461  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When will Stellar Coin be distributed to Bitcoin members? on: January 24, 2015, 06:31:45 AM
When will Stellar Coin be distributed to Bitcoin members? And in what way will such distribution occur?  Will it be similar to Ripple distribution?

Was there such announcement from stellar devs that they will be distributing it here? I didn't saw that and I don't think there will be anymore free distributions of stellars anywhere.

Who are the 10 winners

I don't even remember when I entered into this and whether I won something or not or who else was the winner if it was not me.

with the money they have they buy the best technology to fight it.

What's the best technology to fight hack attacks? Bitstamp was pretty rich and I would think they must have had taken security measures to protect themselves but they still ended up losing a big chunk of money.

I tried to crack it yesterday but I don't have the slightest idea what I need to do, I tried to focus on my thoughts but they just wouldn't turn into words.  Grin
2465  Other / Off-topic / How do them Big Boys protect themselves from attacks? on: January 23, 2015, 11:42:30 AM
I see a lot of attacks going on sites related to Bitcoin, like Blockchain was attacked a while back, Bitstamp was recently attacked, I read a tweet on twitter.com/bitcointalk that even bicointalk got attacked by Dos in November.

And I am just wondering how do sites like Twitter, FB, Reddit protect themselves from these type of hacks?

Or is it that they don't get attacked because hackers don't have any interest in their database?
2466  Other / Off-topic / Re: where were you when bitcointalk was kill??? on: January 23, 2015, 11:36:15 AM
Right here, kept looking at isup.me to see if it was only down for me.
Searched the net to hear any news about what's going on, then saw the tweet on twitter.com/bitcointalk then felt relieved to know it was not an attack.
2467  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ▪▪▪▪▪▪▪► [FAUCET] FREE GreenStox Giveaway! (BTC & Counterparty stock) on: January 23, 2015, 11:27:55 AM
I can use any of my btc address to store these right? And which exchange are these currently listed at?

Edit: Faucet only showing a blank white page.

Basically yes, but you have to import the private key to the counterparty platform which is not very safe, there can be any viruses that can track that.

So basically its much safer if you create a new counterparty wallet at: http://counterparty.io

They are sold in the Counterparty internal exchange for currently 9 satoshi/piece.

Just make a online wallet in 30 seconds, login and you see there the exchange tab and write GREENSTOX, and the asset will popup.

Of course to buy it you need to exchange your BTC into XCP unfortunately as the stock is denominated in XCP, because this is the only way the XCP blockchain can comunicate with the BTC blockchain. But it is only 9 satoshi worth of XCP, so its very very cheap Smiley

As for the faucet for me it works perfectly: http://greenstoxasset.wix.com/faucet
Just click the link and it will get you there.

The faucet gives away 1 GREENSTOX/day, if you want more then you have to buy it on the exchange.

Is Counterwallet.io different from Counterparty.io?? I think they'd be more safe in an offline wallet and I can use the funds when I want to.

And I still can't access your faucet, but it's ok I'll purchase it off of from exchange.

Are there any faucets which are using changetip as their payment method?

2470  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I put zero fee & it's still unconfirmed after 66 solved blocks on: January 23, 2015, 08:52:02 AM
Why is it so hard for people to add the minimum fee which is only 10k sats? You'll have to wait for as long as it takes it to either go through or come back to your wallet and you can't do anything about it but hopefully you'll learn from this and never ever do it again.

2475  Other / Politics & Society / Re: ISIS threatens to kill 2 Japanese hostages unless Tokyo pays $200 million on: January 21, 2015, 02:13:14 PM
These Muslims need to be careful about taking on the Japanese.
When it comes to hacking off heads, the Japanese are experts.

This should not be just the problem for Japanese, the whole world needs to combine their powers and resources to get rid of these terrorists, otherwise they'll keep doing this. And tomorrow it would be someone from another country.
2476  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: scammed by bitstamp.net on: January 21, 2015, 02:08:00 PM
Did they informed the users to not use their old deposit addresses in the mail? I don't use bitstamp, so don't know what emails were sent out. Also, OP if you keep up with btc news, bitstamp hack was everywhere.

2479  Economy / Services / Re: Get 100 - 500 Real Facebook Friends on: January 21, 2015, 08:22:05 AM
Getting friends on facebook is not a problem but the problem is when they block your account and ask you to identify photos of your friends and when you fail to do that you're asked to provide a Govt. ID.

Yes but they block account if you send many requests and i think in his service, he will send requests from multiple ID's ( fake/real) and accepting requests isnt a big issue Smiley

I had 2 accounts which were blocked and I didn't send even one invitation from those to anyone for friendship. I think facebook has other spam detectors and as soon as one uses these accounts to promote anything, which I believe is the main reason why someone would want to have lots of friends, they get detected and then you're asked to provide verification.
2480  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will be bigger than Facebook on: January 21, 2015, 07:43:56 AM
I think comparing bitcoin to facebook is kind of like comparing apples to oranges. Bitcoin is a P2P "currency" while Facebook is a social network. The uses of the two platforms are just too different

Apples oranges, sure.  But it's also like comparing money to a website.  Money just seems inherently better and far more potential to be bigger.

I think OP wasn't saying that they both are same, I think he meant in popularity Bitcoin will be bigger than what facebook ever was.
