This is fascinating to watch: People are getting seriously rich-ish on this forum (everyone has their own definition of that, but it is what it is) and it's fun to read about how people handle it. From my dot.com days I remember these bits:

1) NEVER CONFUSE LUCK WITH SKILL
2) Some people will cash out for hookers and blow
3) Some people will not cash out for hookers and blow.

Fun to watch.(1) is critical, I can't tell you how many dot.com millionaires thought it was because of their super l33t skillz and founded companies that ate all their money and then some. Never confuse luck with skill.

This is only half true. I'm a monster of economical insights. Everyone here should be aware of my gifts by now.

I know I am holding and I know when I am folding.

All I know for sure is, over the last few years, GLD has been the single worst performing asset in my portfolio.

Even Mooncoin probably did better than Gold. It seems utterly dead.

Everything that goes on, sooner or later comes back down.

I guess the Internet went down as well, not to speak of the combustion engine. But in all fairness, bubble peaks will also bring bear throughs. But I see no bubble yet. First we need to hit $25k, and soon.

Patiently waiting for that spike upwards (at least a doubling within one week). Until then, it is still HODLing time.

It is actually a great time for those entering the airdrop, the price is lower now due to panic sellers dumping their onions. For those complaining about getting 100 onions, they can get some now on the cheap

They can definitely get some DeepOnions cheaper than ever. Get them while it lasts.

Looking at my reading list, the first wave of alternative investors is going to look very hard at investing in cryptocurrencies. More positive articles than ever. And that will just be the first wave of people that dare to take a gamble.

The combination between traditional banking and online cryptocurrency banking could be a fruitful one. Especially because traditional banks wish to stay away from crypto for now. There should be ample room of growth in that sector with many opportunities to cross sell to customers.

It's quite easy to calculate this. [...]

Do you know whether the multipliers are published somewhere for everyone to see, or will this be a kind of black box that only the Devs can look into?

It would also be interesting to know in more detail how one's multiplier can be increased (e.g., fulfilling specific bounties or taking certain roles in the DO team).

It seems a lot has been going on behind the thick black veil of  stretched long play ICO mechanism. I say: Bring It On!

Wekkel, you might also find strange that startup pays dividends at the beginning of their operations.

By the way, when will the weekly payments stops? I read in their prospectus that they will separate spectro coin and bankera.

The answer is given here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2091093.msg23705966#msg23705966

For the rest, this field is a big gamble when it comes to ICO's. Again, if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. You could lose all.

Trying out my new signature. It seems to work with automatic insertion of my BitcoinTalk ID (that has been the cause of many unintended dropouts from the airdrop). There may be some confusion because of the new Airdrop rules in place, but I am confident this will vanish over time.

Wekkel, I agree with you, but you won't get much higher weekly payouts after the dilusion, at least for a few years. It is hard to get a license and deploy ~400 mill. to generate high returns. And that bugs the investors and their willingness to participate.

The amount of the future weekly payments are indeed a gamble and the weak spot in my line of reasoning. But someone who cannot make 3% annually on an invested amount in a start up in 1-2 years should pack up and go home.

ROI for ICO. Conclusion not profitable. STAY AWAY JUST LOOK AT THE OLDER POSTS IN THIS TRHEAD

Since ICO is until end of Feb and they have heavy marketing, it's likely to reach the hard cap.

Total Funds Raised = Pre-ico + ICO = 2,500,000,000*0.01 + 1,000,000,000(0.017+0.018+0.019+0.02+0.021+0.022+0.023) + 500,000,000*0.024 = 155,000,000 EUR = 182,674,475 USD (today's rate)

Assuming my calculation is correct, it means right after the ICO, 1 BNK = 182,674,475 USD/(2,500,000,000 BNK + 7,500,000,000 BNK) = 0.01827 USD or 0.02 EUR, so people investing after 0.02 EUR, so from 4,000,000,000+ BNK during the ICO losing money from the start.

Then, now to think about market cap, it is certainly not easy to reach 182,674,475 USD in market cap, since it will land BNK to about 30th in cmc. Although in the long term while it is possible, and even if after Banker immediately reach this valuation, the profit is not great.

When say BNK reach 400,000,000 USD in market cap, basically doubled, 1 BNK = 400,000,000 USD/10,000,000,000 BNK = 0.04 USD
This means even the early investors who bough BNK at 0.017EUR = 0.02USD would only have doubled but those at 0.023EUR = 0.03USD would have 33.3% gain.
If you participate late, not amazing at all. And since there is no clear advantage a crypto-bank can offer over the traditional bank, it's unlikely this will happen anytime soon.

So I guess my point is you most likely will not profit much from this. Look at the previous posts, lots of talks of scam. not worth it

You solely look at nominal capital where you should also look at (i) potential dividend and (ii) speculative value. And yes, BNK is much more a traditional investment proposal than a speculative coin to flip as a ten-bagger within a week. Kind of dull, just like banking 😏

I think the combination between traditional banking and cryptocurrencies could attract a lot of new business that regular banks can't (and, for now, won't) offer. That is where growth of revenue beyond what is regular could be expected.

Those looking for exceptional price rises within 1 week better go back to the eBTC thread.
