Nice! So I take it, in a way was thing as OEM Warranty repair. Sans have having to ship the whole miner over to China that is Wink

Think I'll ask about the bad board from the R4 I got early this year to see if they will do the same...  So far UPS still says the repaired s9 board (batch-13) should show up at work Friday Smiley

yeah maybe you are right .  it did fall in the 6 month time for warranty.

and they are still sending me a little bit of coin as it mines.

this time they let it build up a little higher so the fees are not as bad.

try 3.5 sols  per watt  at your worst number and 4.3 per watt as your best

for founders edition cards

do tdp 70%
core 200
ram -500
fan 75%

you will be about 690  but use less power then the aorus it kind of evens out.  and the aorus is big for a case.

Could you do the same advice for others nvidia ? especially 1070 (and 1060 if you remember the settings for it too) ?

those are FE  1080ti settings for zcash

for  a  1070 itx

tdp 70%
core 200---------  may need to go to as low as 180 if unlucky  or as high as 260 if lucky
ram -500
fan 75%

only had 1 1080  a zoac mini   it did

tdp 60-75%
core 200
ram -300
fan 75%

fe editions  have lower clocks  so + 200 core  is almost certain

I get some really efficient numbers with fe 1080 ti's doing zec

58%  tdp
195 core
-500 ram
70%

the card push 4.4 sols a watt

So for the 1080ti, im looking in the file and it looks like power limit is a wattage not a percent? novice question, but im trying to figure out what exactly i need to change

my bad you want nvOS settings I am as new as you.  but on fullzero's thread I have a discussion about 1070 cards I did 110 for each one.

with 1080ti I would try 160 for each one.  read on his thread what I did for my 1070's they run well now.

oh 1200 usd vega's  need to do 2x a 1080ti  I would get 2 if they did that.

1200-1400  sols for zec at 220 watts I am in

build this 2x 1080 ti's with 1 1070 itx

small does 1700 to 1800 sols at about 550 watts

can expand to 5 cards with risers.

cpu--  you can get a cheap pentium instead

okay I am running 3 card rig  I got -pl 105 for all 3 cards to work.

I am pulling about 375 at the k-watt meter for 1275 sols.

I had to set  each gpu individually to    -pl 105

I can't run xmr cpu but not much coin no worries.

my bash had 11 gpus i deleted 6-10  kept 0,1,2,3,4,5

all seems okay

That's some good hash power. I see there are many workers in your NiceHash.com link. How many rigs are you running and what cards? I've got a 4 card 1070 rig I'm ordering 2 more GPUs right now.

mostly  2x 1080ti  plus  1x 1070 itx

they told me to send it to them for repair
and today they told me it's damaged and unfixable
It's fastest 300$ i lost in my entire life

where did you send it?

China?

or  Colorado, USA

I just got a bill for mine which I sent to Colorado  25 to ship to them  175 to repair 25 to ship back = 225 cost.  I am in New Jersey.

They did give me some mining  for the 1 board about 50 bucks  but could have been more  if they did 1 send of btc with 1 fee for 0.0002 instead of 4 smaller payments and 4 tx id payments  of 0.0002  all in all  an okay experience .  Since I did not send to China

USA

they sent me a refund for 200 and now say board is in a transition process.

Hi Philip,

Thank you for the Paypal payment, it was billed to you by error while in transition process. $200 was fully refunded to you. We are sorry for the confusion you may have experienced!"

So I do not know what will happen next?

EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti SC Black Edition , 11GB GDDR5X , iCX Cooler and LED
EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti SC2 Gaming Edition , 11GB GDDR5X

I am trying to decide between these 4 cards. I plan to buy two of them.  Price is all around the same as it is slim pickings in new zealand.  I already have an Aorus, I like it alot but I want to get two or three cards in one rig eventually and Aorus takes up too much space.

Any recommendations?

I might have other options but these cards I can pickup today so if there is a better recommendation than those cards please post also.

can you find  one with a blower style?

in cases blower style are better for cooling

Can get these kind.  Are they also good for open air? I looked at those two and the clock speeds are lower than the others or is that not much of an issue?  Same price all of them are within 30$ of each other really.

ASUS GeForce GTX1080 Ti Founders Edition , 11GB GDDR5X , HDMI  Have to wait 4 days to get but no drama.
EVGA GeForce GTX1080 Ti Founders Edition , 11GB GDDR5X   Can pickup 2 today.

get the evga founders   pick it up today.

have 2 questions now

 1 ) how to I upgrade to ewbf_ 3.4b

 2) looking to set  power lower  I have -pl at 100  so -pl 90 should drop power?

All you have to do is install ewbf to the same location as the one he has now and it'll pick it up and run it
Yes it will drop the power of all cards if you set it for all
What I would do is download it. Extract it to the desktop then copy and paste it into the same folder and name it the same then onebash will run it all the same also make a copy of the original file to be safe

I found the zec folder so I think  I can upgrade from 3.3 to 3.4

I do not seem to be setting the power limits correctly -pl  100 ,90, 80, 70, 65  and I pull 150 watts per card

Are you going close to the bottom of the bash file to set the power limit?
You don't have to do it in the command line for the zec miner it'll be its own section for power limit settings

Phil,

if you haven't updated EWBF yet see:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1854250.msg19579963#msg19579963

with powerlimits:

if using the same powerlimit for each card set:

Code:
POWERLIMIT="YES"

and in this block of code:

Code:
if [ $POWERLIMIT == "YES" ]
then
sleep 6
#change powerlimit by changing the number after -pl to the desired wattage
expect -c 'spawn sudo nvidia-smi -pl 125
expect "*password*:"
send "miner1\r" '
sleep 6
fi

find the line:
Code:
expect -c 'spawn sudo nvidia-smi -pl 125

and replace 125 with the desired powerlimit in watts

if using the individual powerlimits for each card set:

Code:
INDIVIDUAL_POWERLIMIT="YES"

and in this block of code:

Code:
if [ $INDIVIDUAL_POWERLIMIT == "YES" ]
then
sleep 6
#change GPU 0 powerlimit by changing the number after -pl to the desired wattage
expect -c 'spawn sudo nvidia-smi -i 0 -pl 125
expect "*password*:"
send "miner1\r" '
sleep 6

#change GPU 1 powerlimit by changing the number after -pl to the desired wattage
expect -c 'spawn sudo nvidia-smi -i 1 -pl 125
expect "*password*:"
send "miner1\r" '
sleep 6

#change GPU 2 powerlimit by changing the number after -pl to the desired wattage
expect -c 'spawn sudo nvidia-smi -i 2 -pl 125
expect "*password*:"
send "miner1\r" '
sleep 6

#change GPU 3 powerlimit by changing the number after -pl to the desired wattage
expect -c 'spawn sudo nvidia-smi -i 3 -pl 125
expect "*password*:"
send "miner1\r" '
sleep 6

#change GPU 4 powerlimit by changing the number after -pl to the desired wattage
expect -c 'spawn sudo nvidia-smi -i 4 -pl 125
expect "*password*:"
send "miner1\r" '
sleep 6

#change GPU 5 powerlimit by changing the number after -pl to the desired wattage
expect -c 'spawn sudo nvidia-smi -i 5 -pl 125
expect "*password*:"
send "miner1\r" '
sleep 6

#change GPU 6 powerlimit by changing the number after -pl to the desired wattage
expect -c 'spawn sudo nvidia-smi -i 6 -pl 125
expect "*password*:"
send "miner1\r" '
sleep 6

........

change each line:

expect -c 'spawn sudo nvidia-smi -i 0 -pl 125  ( this is for GPU 0 )

expect -c 'spawn sudo nvidia-smi -i 1 -pl 125  ( this is for GPU 1 )

expect -c 'spawn sudo nvidia-smi -i 2 -pl 125

expect -c 'spawn sudo nvidia-smi -i 3 -pl 125

expect -c 'spawn sudo nvidia-smi -i 4 -pl 125

expect -c 'spawn sudo nvidia-smi -i 5 -pl 125  ( this is for GPU 5 )

to the desired powerlimit.

Note: the indexing of the GPUs might be different than you expect.

If you open the guake terminal; press f12

and enter:
Code:
nvidia-smi

It should list your cards in the correct order.

Good afternoon, fellas!
Please help me resolve the following problem:
Motherboard: Asus prime z270-p
Graphic cards: Gigybite GeForce gtx 1070 (x6)
Problem:
I launch the benchmark Nicehash, the first GPU is shown to work correctly with all algorithms, the second with only a half, the rest of GPU work only with dagger hashimoto. I have tried to reset computer anf download drivers but none of this has helped. The most surprising thing is that the very first time I have launched the benchmark 5 of 6 GPU worked perfectly. So it is obvious that all graphic cards are fine. And the problem is with something else (Nicehash itself perhaps).

Thanks in advance to those willing to help.

don't use that software.  use ewbf_ 3.3 or 3.4

they will not be for a small guy.  they will be in panda miner type pc's maybe 8-10 card units.

I simply don't see them selling to a small guy.

I am pretty sure the answer is 200-250w per card..
But if I plan on running 1080ti's at 70% what is there per card wattage?

Trying to figure out how many cards I can run off a Evga GC 850w/Corsair AX850 or if I should upgrade to a 1000w like a RMX 1000w.

Just got the 850w from Microcenter and I can return it within 30days.
I have (2) 1080ti Founders and I am thinking if mining stays profitable I would eventually get more..

I have an Asus z270 AR which can hold up to 7 boards if I put them on risers.
I doubt I would ever go higher an 4-5.. Realistically I won't go past 3, but who knows.

Thoughts?

you can do 3 cards on a 850 watter.

4 if you clock at 60-70 tdp.

and  once you go over 80 tdp it is pretty much wasting power.
24634  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1070gtx + biostar ? on: June 15, 2017, 05:26:18 PM
Hi everyone.

I'm new here I hope to find the solution to the problem that kept me awake for several nights..  Huh

I've been reading a lot about different rig configuration and I came out with this one:

MoBo: Biostar Motherboard TB250-BTC
CPU:   Intel Celeron G3900 2.8 GHz LGA1151 2 MB Cache
GPU:   EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 SC Gaming 8 GB ACX 3.0
RAM:  HyperX FURY 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) 2133 MHz DDR4 CL14 DIMM
PoS:   EVGA Supernova 1000 W 80 Plus Modular Gold G1

The GPUs are 2 or 3 in the beginning but I will add one every month (hopefully) until I have all of the 6 slot full.
I didn't mention all the cables, extender, cpu cooler and eventual extra fan but I know I have to buy them.  Wink

The second similar version is:

MoBo: ASRock H81 Pro BTC Motherboard
CPU:   Intel Celeron G1840 Processor 2.8 GHz LGA1150
GPU:   EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 SC Gaming 8 GB ACX 3.0
RAM:  HyperX FURY 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) DDR3 1866 MHz CL10 DIMM
PoS:   EVGA Supernova 1000 W 80 Plus Modular Gold G1

Any opinion? Should it works?

Suggestions accepted!  Grin

Thanks in advance to all!

I like the bio star  but the cpu should be a better one  and you can get away with 1 stick of ram.

I use these  http://www.ebay.com/itm/SR2L1-Intel-Intel-Core-i5-6400T-Processor-for-V230ICUT-07-All-In-One-Desktop-/142408684804?

any cooler will do.  I mine with the cpu xmr pays for itself

It looks like nvidia's own FE... anyone have experience with the performance of this?

hi i`m new to ming and i have a  problem/question: why 1 card is not on the same performance as the other 3 always is a difference between,is there a bios setting or something like this that i`m missing ?

my mining rig :mobo z270 a prime (bios up to date , above 4g enable set, video on mobo ), 4 gtx 1080ti gaming x clock +150 +400 :
1.GeForce GTX 1080 Ti   64 C   206 W   753 Sol/s   3.66 Sol/W
2.GeForce GTX 1080 Ti   61 C   208 W   752 Sol/s   3.62 Sol/W
3.GeForce GTX 1080 Ti   58 C   206 W   753 Sol/s   3.66 Sol/W
4.GeForce GTX 1080 Ti   65 C   204 W   724 Sol/s   3.51 Sol/W

PCIx Lane speed?

x16 x1 x1 x16  always is a difference of 16 20 sol/s not a big deal but i`m currios what`s happening , when i raise the power limit to 100% the boost clock only gets to 1890 mhz , the other 3 are at 1911mhz at 100% tdp , can this clock damage my card ?

why would you raise to 100%  would you drive your card with the speedometer pinned to the max 24/7/365?

your 4 cards  are doing well at 208 watts  you get 753 sol/s and one is lower

The S9 has been on the market for sometime now. I am wondering it is the limitation of hashing hardware/power or it is possible to got higher than 13.5TH but not releasing it for some reasons...

yes  the limit is imposed for psu size.

no more complex then that.

and since it is far more efficient then any other miner they are going with it.

Finally they make a fortune with the s-7 on hashnest  so they will do status quo until someone else brings out a 20th 1200 watt unit.

their s-7 division is a solid money maker for them
