LESSONS FROM MY JOURNEY ON THE FORUM

I still remember one post that says "Making progress and earning the required merit to rank up is quite easy to achieve but learning to stay consistent in helping the community after getting the desired rank is difficult". Perhaps, you should consider that aspect throughout your journey.

It is kinda disappointing to see some of the member who were a good poster before and eventually become a user who unconstructively making such posts after getting their desired rank. Huh Anyhow, keep learning and enjoy your stay here.

What you mean is Adding the adding the token again in your MEW in order to display the 500 Crypterium balance since they have recently change their contract address right? If that's the case, then it would be much better to read this article to properly add again the token you are referring to.

2484  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Metamask Swap Clarification on: November 11, 2020, 10:50:31 AM
Thanks everyone for the reminders.

So basically, If I am going to exchange token into ETH, I would probably use the default slippage of 2% to 3% and a higher a GAS Price to execute the swapping smoothly considering that you also have a good amount of ETH in your wallet which is used for paying the tx fee and as well as reducing the risk of having a failed swapping. This is my first swapping though, I hope that it'll execute smoothly LOL.

2485  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Nico David "bitaccelerate" SCAM review on: November 11, 2020, 04:32:30 AM
"sasampalin ko utak nyo eh" hahaha. YouTuber pala to.

But still good thing pa din na kahit papaano eh may isang tao na nag eeducate ng crypto in general that bitcoin itself is not scam in layman's term pa.
2486  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Nico David "bitaccelerate" SCAM review on: November 10, 2020, 03:42:03 PM
Good Evening Everyone,

I just want to share the recent upload video of Nico David wherein he makes a review regarding bitaccelerate fraudulent investment scheme. Well, actually since we are an avid cryptocurrency enthusiast pamilyar na din naman sa atin yung ganitong type ng fraudulent activity where they claim "50k mo gawin nating 100k in just few years" type of persuasion o pang-uuto sa mga tao. And fortunately, natuwa lang ako sa video upload na 'to ni Nico David kasi he actually save the image of bitcoin in general from these deceitful people.

Just a heads up though, na feature din yung [1] https://bitaccelerate.com/ sa review ni Nico David who also gave a fair warning for those people who are susceptible with these kinds of fraud kasi parehas yung name ng site nila sa scam program na nabanggit. For those newbies, just remember that before actually diving into an investment program, make sure that you do your research lalo na pagdating sa registration ng entity sa Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) kasi napaka crucial na component yan when it comes to the legitimacy of their services.

2487  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Metamask Swap Clarification on: November 10, 2020, 06:35:25 AM
If you get a failed transaction, you still lose Gas fee. It is important and economical if you remember to check network condition, and make sure your transaction will be confirmed, not failed with relevant Gas price and Gas limit.
I am well aware of the the relationship between the status of the network condition and the amount of GAS Price to determine how fast the transaction will be. But then I'll still be looking for a more in depth explanation of the links you have provided below. Sorry for the basic question since I am new to swapping field of tokens. Thank you so much @tranthidung

Always make sure that you used higher slippage than the one popping on the dapp to be able to swap properly. Using a low than the recommended resulting to cancelled transaction, and eth gas fee will still be deducted even it got cancelled.
What is your recommended percentage of "slippage" if I were going to use the custom button in Metamask? Does it affect the amount of ETH you will going to receive? Based on my findings, the higher the amount of slippage the lesser the quantity of the coin/token you are swapping to.

Metamask is simply allowing you to choose since its integrated with multiple "DEXs". Choose lower rates if you want your expected rate to be as close to your actual trade. Metamask will spread your order to exchanges with higher liquidity.
What if the token is listed to only 1 DEXs like UNISWAP? Do you recommended to still use Metamask or UNISWAP itself?
2488  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Metamask Swap Clarification on: November 10, 2020, 05:00:12 AM
Hey everyone,

I just want to clarify some concept regarding the Swap function of Metamask browser extension. I am currently exploring this wallet in order for me to at least have an idea about how these functions works in general and to be able to utilize the latest update. Let's say for example that I wanted to swap 100 UNI token to ETH. Does that mean the "Estimated Network Fee" will be deducted from your ETH balance? Another thing is, when swapping, what is the preferred percentage of "slippage"?

I don't know which board to post since most of Altcoin Discusssion were full megathreads.

Why does the value of bitcoin in USD is stagnant even though the price of BTC in the market is skyrocketing? Just noticed it when I was using the platform. Replies would be appreciated. Thank you.  Wink
2490  Economy / Services / Re: Roobet.com | Art Contest "Hand Drawn" - $1575 Up for grabs! Ends October 31st on: November 10, 2020, 12:35:19 AM
After so many tries, I guess I have to finally admit that

It bothers me if someone degrades him/herself about his capabilities of doing a masterpiece. I have joined numerous art events/ contest outside bitcointalk before and unfortunately I've also experienced losing an event multiple times which is quite a bit hard to accept and to just moved on. I am also once a beginner in this field @Betwrong, loses and has been frustrated multiples but then the only thing that you can do is to get out of your comfort zone and explore whatever genre of art you are interested in whether it be traditional, digital, mural etc..

There are lots of tutorial which you can find in youtube like Proko and Florent Farges Art who does both oil painting and graphite drawing. You just need a lot of practice and consistency in your work.

Anyhow, goodluck on your journey. Don't get frustrated too much.
2491  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I am Beginner!! Any Book for Bitcoin Guide? on: November 06, 2020, 04:31:03 PM
All the e-book links you shared above are stored on Google Drive; Are all those books licensed for free?
Hi! @Husna QA  Cheesy, I personally collected those cryptocurrency books during my free time and decided to upload it in my Google Drive and eventually share it to the community. To answer your question, I am not quite sure if these eBooks are licensed for free that is why i decided to create a thread if posting some eBooks are allowed.

[1] Posting downloadable PDF/ eBook links

Fortunately, based from the answers, I think it is allowed to post regardless if it is legally licensed or not. However, there is a reply in my thread that warns me to remove the links available to anyone due to the fact that I am liable for unauthorized distributions if the situation got worse. It's just that I am still lucky sine bitcointalk and GDrive are both protected with DMCA's "Safe Harbor".

I hate to be that guy but as a word of caution: some of those books aren't actually free and I'm guessing that their unauthorized distribution could potentially land you in trouble (luckily for you, book publishers don't really tend to go after infringers). As for Bitcointalk and Google Drive, they are both shielded through DMCA's "Safe Harbor" provision which means they are not liable as long as they comply with takedown requests by copyright holders. Hope everyone learned a bit more about copyright law Smiley

Do you think I should remove it? This one still got me guilty  Huh

2492  Local / Pamilihan / Re: LENDING SECTION HERE (Mores Funds Available - Wanted Borrowers! on: November 06, 2020, 04:08:14 PM

Just a heads for those newbs and to those account who have been inactive for 2 straight years and suddenly became active few months ago. As far as I am concerned, there is a zero chance na mayroon pong maglend sa inyo kasi sobrang taas ng risk magkaroon ng "Loan Default". Isa pa, general rule na din po yan sa forum especially we are in the community of socializing with respect to being anonymous.

Let me quote of an important reminder:

There has been a massive influx of new users requesting loans lately, and as a result, lots of people being scammed. It seems that Tomatocage's thread isn't enough, so let me just say this:

Do not loan to new users unless you can get collateral OR if they are very trusted due to high-risk services they provide (examples: gambling sites, currency exchange sites), because the chances of them defaulting/scamming are 90%+.

What defines a "new" user?

  • Anyone who is a Member, Jr. Member or Newbie
  • Anyone who has registered within the last few months
  • Anyone with less than ~100-200 posts
  • Anyone whose posts mainly consist of spam and/or meaningless posts such as "+1" and "nice post"
  • Anyone who refuses to provide collateral or ID for large loans (a general guideline is >0.005 BTC) or states that they can not give it may not be new, but is untrustworthy.
  • Anyone who you think is a scammer, because in the Lending sub-forum, 90% of the time, you're probably right.

Regardless of your reason for requesting a loan whether it is valid or not as long as you do not have established a good image sa community -- wala pong papayag na mag lend sa inyo. Take note that even with a higher rank na nakapag establish ng maayos na reputation dito eh may record din ng "Loan Default". It's just that we are minimizing the imposed risk of being scammed.
2493  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Saan Maganda magsimula ng AIRDROP Event? on: November 06, 2020, 03:45:18 PM
It's been a long time since nung last time na sumali ako sa mga crypto airdrops, dati commonly used yung paggamit ng google forms para makapag register yung mga bounty hunter or airdrop hunter mga ganitong type of event pero I think medyo obsolete na gumamit ng ganong method kasi manual pa siyang dapat imonitor.

Why not use some of the popular website na naglalagay ng mga featured airdrop like some of the reputable sites that I know nung active pa ako sa mga airdrop. This is by far the most convenient way na alam ko para mabilis ma-publicize yung existence ng airdrop sa mga taon since malaki na din reach ng site na 'to.
[1] https://airdropalert.com/

As far as I know, kaya nilang i-accomodate yung mga aridrop link intended only para sa isang project in which you and the company can customize what is inside the link (e.g., Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Bitcointalk) and earn stakes based sa task na na-accomplish. Like for example [1] https://cryptoenter.com/AirDrop/?utm_source=airdropalert

Here is the pricing for listing.
[1] https://airdropalert.com/airdropsubmit

Minsan mas mababa pa nga palitan sa coins.pro as compared with coins.ph -- maybe because kakaunti lang yung volume doon? I am still not quite sure though kasi last ilang months na din yung nakalipas after ko mag trade doon.

You can also try contacting @bl4nkcode as he is the one holding the funds collected coming from the donations of other people from their place and to this community. Or @crwth who is also helping @cabalism13 to extend their help to other people.

Or maybe try wearing their signature design and avatar to help spread the Charity Program.
2498  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Hack seed on: November 02, 2020, 03:01:10 AM
But here is your TLDR:
You would need to guess the right one of 2048^12 combinations, 5.4445179 * 1039 (5.4445179e+39).
I think it should be permutations not a combinations of seed phrases since the repetition of words are allowed and the arrangements of words are necessary.

2048 P 12 = 5.271537971 * 10 39

1. Store on the internet by creating a file of your seed and try to save like into cloud storage.
Dropbox and Google Drive.

2. You will store your seed phrase file with different devices/storage like your
Hard drive
Flash drive
Disk drive
I think OP isn't talking about handling of seed phrases to reach an optimum security. Either way, storing your seed phrases online written on a plain text is a malpractice.
2499  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How safe is Coinbase / Coinbase Pro? on: November 02, 2020, 02:09:26 AM
From there I can take the time to look into more secure storage options for the future. Thank you!
If you really want to have an in-depth comparison to know which wallet you are going to use then there is a good wallet comparison and discussion that can help you decide for storing your coins. This table will help you sort out what are your needs and which wallet you are comfortable storing your stash. Also please note that you must complement the table while carefully reading this thread [1] FOR NEWBIES, wallets to choose from and analysis by Veriphi for you to be able to distinguish what are the recommendations and error stated in the spreadsheet.

[2] https://veriphi.io/en/blog/software-wallet-analysis

Much of the wallet tips and reminders regarding the security of your wallet has been discussed by other members, so all you need to do is to apply and  make it as a habit of precautionary measures.

Just a heads up, I recently found this website and it is way better than using grammarly for checking grammatical errors especially if you are a non-native english speaker.
