And this reminds of a thread brought to you by a member of the Bitcoin Talk Forum Pumpers of America Association™ posted in The ANNOUCEMENTS forum, which has enough trash already to have to waddle through scam, pump and threads from every jerkoff that DON'T belong here!
2482  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: THE WALL OF SHAME on: June 08, 2014, 07:24:27 AM
Yes, the level of fraud and misrepresentation in crypto is of epidemic proportions. Making baseless accusations without facts backing them up is also spreading FUD based on ulterior motives. My suggestion for anyone involved in crypto to do their own due diligence, it's not all too difficult to figure out and take baseless accusations for what they are worth.
2483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] |WorldCupCoin brazil 2014 (wcc) |x11 | Launch @ 11th june 9GMT on: June 08, 2014, 03:41:38 AM
Not interesting
There are a lot of coins with worldcup concept

What's interesting is that people continue to support dumbed down, unoriginal crypto coins with zero innovation. These alt clones are all the same and created for a single purpose that has nothing to do with anything but enhancing the amount of BTC the 'dev' has at the expense of bigger fools. The problem is while hash power keeps growing exponentially and diminishing profitability for the average miner, BTC  is a limited resource. The more people that get burned in these scams, the less fools there are to participate in the next alt shitcoin that comes around. I hope to see the day when all this nonsense comes to an end and instead focus on alts created out of innovation rather than illusionary nonsense.
2484  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: --WARNING-- HACKERS on: June 08, 2014, 02:38:01 AM
I have just done a fresh install. Let's hope my black coins have survived. Looking like I have a key logger or something, whatever it is my passwords are dropping and these are not easy passwords. I hope encrypted wallet is safe but not looking good. My internet banking is down also but could be network issue.

Total loss around 1BTC Sad i have been mining since November. I also have lost 10k honorcoin that was converted to btc then withdrawn.

The hacker also attempted enabling F2A but I think that has failed.

Bad day..

Unfortunately I think you are correct, you may have installed a keylogger without knowing it. I would definetly reinstall the OS from known good source. Never type in sensitive passwords using a keyboard. Use a Password manager program such as LastPass, Password Safe or KeePass to safely store and manage logins or use the built in Windows On-Screen Keyboard to manually type in passwords, which keyloggers won't pickup. BinaryClock from Dedicated Pools has a good tutorial video on the subject:

2485  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Problem with Blackcoin wallet, please help on: June 07, 2014, 02:52:42 PM
I'm new to Blackcoin. Recently downloaded the Windows wallet for my 64 bit Windows 7 system. Every time I open the wallet and the initial sync runs (I've deleted the program and app data and reinstalled several times) it gets stuck on block 136,391. I ran it for over 20 hours one of the times just to see if it would ever push pass that point and it didn't.

What is causing this problem? And how do I fix it?

The wallet won't sync until you upgrade to the latest client:

- Download the latest wallet from the announcement page https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=599299.0 or BlackCoin website http://www.blackcoin.co. The latest version is v1.0.6.0

- Backup any existing wallet.dat using the guide - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=609477.0

- Start the wallet, check it matches version v1.0.6.0 in the Help ==> About BlackCoin tab and let it sync

here is pretty late and i have to work tomorrow but i cant sleep Smiley i need to see first the wallet working (done at least) and second, in sync (until block 26 833, is also ok for me atm Wink )

I hope you get your coins back. At least it's not as bad as the $500,000 mistake this poor guy made:

Try it on another computer with windows 7 and have the same problem, opened, closed and tried to open again and get the same runtime error

Try this:

-Close all wallets
-Press the Win+R keys
-Type C:\ProgramData\boost_interprocess in the dialog box and hit OK
-Delete all the folders in the directory path that opens up
-Launch the wallet again

thanks! works, now opens but there is not block source available.. some tips for this? I have the conf file in the appdata but... maybe they are some more nodes? thanks in advance

These are the nodes from my conf file:

Code:
addnode=198.27.109.74
addnode=111.69.242.202
addnode=94.22.41.45
addnode=70.74.161.2
addnode=115.188.131.91

The wallet syncs but the blockchain is stuck on block 26833, so the dev will probably have to release a fix to get it moving again.

Thanks for the extra nodes but still the wallet is not starting to sync and about the hold off... hope didn't loose the 25k DOT i send already Wink Thanks again Vann and if u have another idea why still dont want to sync the wallet, please, let me know

It could take a few minutes before it starts syncing, but those node should work. If not try opening port 19745 on your router or make sure it's no being blocked by your firewall.

and u are shure that  the port above 65k works ?
Not on Windows, port range must be lower than 65000. Ports above 65000 will only work on Linux.
2489  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SCRYPT] KimDotCoin on: June 06, 2014, 12:06:57 AM
and im using the online wallet to save the coins im mining and also they dont show there... now more than one hour since they were sended

Until the blockchain starts moving again there is no way for the coins mined or transfered to confirm. You should hold off making any transfers until the blockchain has been fixed.

2494  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Citi Bank cites Dogecoin as a "significant" cryptocurrency in its new report... on: June 04, 2014, 12:01:03 AM
they actually listed litecoin , dogecoin and ,blackcoin

Yes, on page 19:
...Litecoin, Dogecoin, and Blackcoin are significant as well...
I found this on /r/dogecoin/ and the person there decided to "feature" only Dogecoin in the thread title.

Not sure if blackcoin deserves to be called a "significant" cryptocurrency, but DOGE had massive, positive TV time during NASCAR so the status was earned, imo.

You are misreporting the statement. CitiBank called the TRANSACTIONS made in those crypto currencies "significant". They were not reffering to the currencies themselves.

2495  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Daily Reminder that All these IPOs are illegal in the United States on: June 03, 2014, 11:48:25 PM
I completely disagree with your interpretation of this.. You are quoting an article of a business that is selling securities.. Premining coins and selling them is not sale of a security but sale of coins at a lower rate, simple as that.. People call it an IPO because it's and Initial Public Offering but it certainly is not the sale of securities..

It has nothing to do with selling securities. The problem is 'altcoin IPO's' are being sold as an unregulated “investment opportunity” and as pointed out in these SEC advisories,

Quote
In particular, individuals selling investments are typically subject to federal or state licensing requirements.

“People have the mistaken impression that virtual currency means you can trust a random person over the Internet” - Jeff Garzik, a member of bitcoin’s core developer group.
2497  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Daily Reminder that All these IPOs are illegal in the United States on: June 03, 2014, 10:15:30 PM
The SEC has also issued an advisory outlining that the members of this forum are targeted for fraudulent investments:

Quote
The SEC indicated that investors who generated significant earnings during bitcoin’s price boom in 2013 are particularly at risk of investment fraud. Additionally, participants in bitcoin forums like Bitcoin Talk face the risk of getting involved with fraudulent investments, such as an initial public offering (IPO) scheme.

I think what a member of Bitcoin's core developer group said sums up these scams best:

I hear the USD funds drugs, money laundering, illegal wars and government corruption. Oh wait, the USD is CREATED by the government and banks out of thin air! Time to drop all Fiat and get into BTC!

US Dollar (USD)

- US government has 100% monopoly on mining
- Mining algorithm: 8 white guys
- Block reward: exponentially increasing ad infinitum
- Double spending: Institutionalized by the banks
- security: proof of violence
- transaction confirmation: slower than snail mail
2499  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Darkcoin has to respond to that fake "government" person ASAP on: June 03, 2014, 04:56:26 PM
Before Snowden I would have agreed with you.  I thought that guy was a confused idiot at first but then all the stuff he was babbling about turned out to be true.

The DarkCoin team should not respond unverifiable claims that at best amount to nothing more than hearsay. Anyone who would make an investment decision based on the unverifiable ramblings of an anonymous new poster is either a troll or a fool.

A post by a new forum troll has nothing to do with what Edward Snowden did. Snowden went through great lengths to provide his credentials and documentation to established media organizations in order to prove his claims were accurate BEFORE making the accusations publicly. His revelations to the world showed the criminal activity and lies that were are perpetrated on the public at the expense of his OWN personal safety and future.

That is the complete opposite of making a baseless claim regarding the supposed government infiltration of a DarkCoin with the unverifiable ramblings of an anonymous new poster that provides zero basis in fact to back up his claims. A real government employee would not risk his security clearance and personal future by making a baseless claim, it's FUD designed to benefit the OP at the expense of fools stupid enough to believe such nonsense.
2500  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shibe Coin v2 is scam from Loq the ScamDev on: June 03, 2014, 04:16:07 PM
ShibeCoin was a 100% scam from the start. The relaunch is nothing more than a desperate attempt from bagholders trying to get a pump before it winds up trading for litoshies.

The block explorer shows a total of 56 blocks, including the first 50 with the largest rewards were mined before the coin was even announced. That's even worse than an insta-mine scam, given the only ones that could have mined those blocks were the 'dev' and those he let know over an hour before anyone else.

Any one that's ever been at a coin launch knows it doesn't take an hour to mine 50 blocks when the diff is 0.00002 and the BS that a pool got those coins simply doesn't add up, especially when the largest block rewards are 100% skewed towards the beginning when the diff is the lowest and insta-ming before and after the announcement was made is the easiest thing to do with the way the coin was launched in a ninja announcement. In addition to having zero innovation and being a 100% Doge ripoff, for the 'dev' to try and capitalize off the work the Doge community accomplished in raising $55,000 to sponsor a NASCAR team, by releasing his shitcoin on the same day Doge introduced their NASCAR team, shows how classless they are in their attempt to make a quick profit.

Shibecoin Is The New Doge Ripoff And Latest Altcoin Ninja Launch

http://altcoinherald.com/shibecoin-new-doge-ripoff-latest-altcoin-ninja-launch/

Shibe Coin, a complete ripoff of Doge Coin, likely a scam - an article by The Cryptocurrency Times

http://www.usacryptocoins.com/thecryptocurrencytimes/uncategorized/shibe-coin-a-complete-ripoff-of-doge-coin-likely-a-scam/

The 50 blocks that were mined before the announcement was made contained the highest rewards and amounted to 6,250,000 coins out of the total of 252,500,000 mined during the PoW stage. That equals 2.5% of the PoW coin total + an additional 1,500,000 coins from the announced 0.5% premine. 8,750,000 coins were mined BEFORE the announcement was even made..

The coin was announced at 3:03 PM EDT The block explorer shows there were 56 blocks mined BEFORE the coin was announced. To say the coin was not insta-mined both BEFORE and after the announcement was made is simply not the truth. People need to know this before investing or believing the hype.
