It's OVER TWENTY THREE!!!!
2483  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 18, 2020, 09:36:21 PM

I bought Anycubic's newer Mega S. Prusa's are in the same range, afaik even better quality at the higher ended printers and have also good community support.
....

The Anycubic is an excellent choice! I've used it and it's one of the best VFM 3D printers out there. You just need to be comfortable with tweaking and tinkering with the h/w a bit, like you've already done. Printing with PLA, the output is on par with much more expensive printers. It's the more difficult/exotic materials that make the difference IMHO.

And based on Bitcoin's recent performance and expected 2021 price, you'd probably only need 0.1 BTC to get some of the best quality 3D printers out there...

Life's sweet for BTC HoDLers!

Yeah, the thing is a real bargain at 0.1 BTC (this includes a 1kg spool of excellent PLA). I switched to some *m*zon PLA for 0.0011 BTC per kg and that was a bad choice. The Anycubic PLA printed excellently, out of the box, while the cheap one gave me a hard time adjusting parameters to get mediocre results (like Arries mine replica). I always wanted to print ABS, ultimately for a DIY gun, so i came across PETG/CPE because of the fumes when printing ABS. This time i ordered from a specialized dealer.
I got into CNC about a year ago (or make it two, in case my mind fails on this again), and i was thinking quite often about 3DP, but always forgot about it again, mainly because my research for the "best" budget printer never came to an end - a different story.
However, for 0.1BTC this machine is excellent, in the meanwhile i got decent CPE results. And it seems to get "cheaper" over time as well. Thanks, Satoshi  Grin Grin Grin

Yeah, ABS is quite a nasty material to print with. I wouldn't even try it on the Anycubic. As for PLA, I always go for high quality stuff, usually sold in 750 g spools costing around $30 each. Have tried cheap ones ($20 / kg), but results were noticeably inferior, not worth the savings.

BTW, my 0.1 BTC comment was obviously not for the Anycubic—you can currently buy 10 Anycubics for that amount! Maybe you missed a zero in your post above. The Anycubic Mega S should now be around 0.01 BTC. My comment was that, in 2021, 0.1 BTC should easily buy you an Ultimaker S5-class 3D printer.

PLA is really wonderful... natural... biodegradable, but it has it's limits.  You certainly can't do firearms with it.   I did this great set of replacement knobs for my grill. So nice... Prusa silver with a little orange flame glued on them.  I loved them.  They fit so tightly (she whispered).  Until you used the grill.  They take enough ambient heat that the would get mushy... lol.  So I had to use PETG.  And I only had a sort of translucent blue.  Oh well... it's kinda comical looking, but they don't melt.

I built a Prusa 3 with my daughter... it was a LOT of fun.  There are cheaper printers out there for sure... but the quality of that thing. The engineering.  It's a work of art.

Megaupload was such a stupid f^cking website.  Kim Dotcom was a tech industry accidental lottery winner the same as Mark Cuban.

Both of them totally get bitcoin.

all the dark dodger on same chain

and it's not following the Whitepaper anyway

Merry Christmas
Wink

No the even dumber fork chain has PLENTY of "dodgers" "on it".

Seriously.  Such a disaster.

Remember that time Dave Portnoy sold all his Bitcoin @ ~$11,500 and took a loss?  Grin

That dude's face.  And I am a real chill guy.  But something about that guy.  Was not surprised he sold.

Yeah, obviously a very smart guy, yet wasting his time observing order book on bitfinex...?

Plus 'Finex's order book has stuff in it all the way up to the millions.  There is a 12 million dollar wall at 150k for example.   And there's plenty between 21k and 25k  It just needed some time to fill out, I would guess.

Boys, I’m at my gf’s parents house. It’s my nephews 1st birthday, I really want to let loose right now but I can’t out of respect for them. I told them all to buy years ago but nobody did.

Feels like a dick move to start celebrating so I’m keeping it quiet. Will buy a bottle of champagne on the way home.

This is just the beginning, next stop $50,000.

You are gentlemen.

Well guys I'll check in again at 30,000!

Good to see you.

Good to see you too.  You ought to go poke your head in the honeypony thread while you are here.  They will be glad to see you to... Well most of us are in here, I guess. Wink
2494  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: December 16, 2020, 06:47:44 PM
Target:  XMR at 3k USD some time next year...  Prolly around November.  Too lofty or likely possible?  I have this funny feeling it could get there and flippen a lot of alts in the process.

Such a wild card.  I put 3k USD in the same bucket as $80k BTC - High probability, and likely much, much higher.  The case for Monero gets stronger by the hour, it seems to me.  Get your Bull on.

I'd say closer to 6-10k would be a more top-ish area to consider this cycle go-around.

If it makes it into that range I will personally fly out to your island and kiss you on the head.

The corn just breeched 20. Woop.

If I see XMR in 4 digits, it would be something that 6 years ago wasnt even in the realm of possibilities I considered. It would  be one of the signature moments in crypto, at least for me.

With XMR riding the BTC slingshot it could certainly get there if the XMRBTC price can hold or even increase.  That's going to be the kicker.  I think in this cycle we might begin to see which alts are considered to have promise.  And kind of oddly I do not know for sure XMR will be on that list for the retail side at first.  Reason being it is not widely available on the exchanges retail folks (esp. boomers) are going to use, it is still slightly more difficult to use with even hardware wallets, and it has the bad boy status (WHM, porn etc).

On the other hand I really think smart money will see it as an interesting hedge, and as much as I know many prefer not to concentrate on this, there is no doubt it will end up the king of black/gray market transactions.  Eventually I believe most drug trade will be done using Monero, eventually even on the street (10 years).

To that point I suppose yesterday was the PornHub pump (hmm... memes?) and I believe we will see more people wanting to use Monero when they realize the lack of privacy they face with nearly all other crypto.

Monero has always been the outlier.  Remember when we only had a CLI wallet?  I 'member.

It's gonna sneak up on people.  That I know for sure.

I can't believe companies are falling for this fake news HOAX "currency". It's going to be brutal when this all continues it's multi-year collapse. 2021 is going to be brutal. #bitcoinhasfailed

Why are you upset? This is the biggest inverse bearish spike indicator we have seen yet, isn't it?  You are more right than ever.

Kinda cool/weird that 12/17/17 and 12/16/20  End up banner days in the history of BTC.  What if it goes over 30k tomorrow? Smiley  Sorry... just in dream mode.

Methinks it's time to officially retire this meme.
