2481  Economy / Gambling discussion / turned gambler after investing in BTC or investor turned gambler? on: December 13, 2022, 02:26:34 AM
This is just a question got from someone I hangout with yesterday when I introduced her to investing in BTC. She is 50+ but managed a busy small hotel and has a son who had been playing games on the computer all the time. After some discussion, I advised her to just remind the son not to gamble the BTC.

So she asked how I end up gambling online. I'm not totally a gambler at all, I started investing and somehow stray as I'm trying to win some.
She began to worry since her son is on the computer all the time and might gamble upon learning the BTC can be gambled.

Which one has a high possibility of happening, a gamer eventually becomes a gambler or an investor turns into a gambler?
But first, answer the poll which are you. Are you a gambler that become an investor or an investor that turned into a gambler?
2482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FTX CEO Samuel Bankman-Fried Arrested In The Bahamas on: December 13, 2022, 01:37:38 AM
he was suppose to testify remotely tomorrow.. i guess they want to see him physically

The most awaited session to watch for someone in crypto. There were also reports that CZ is also in trouble and he is the next to be extradited since he seems to be accused to have done the same as what SBF did.

So the US after all can extend its hands to arrest someone from that place. I guess they can also do it in Panama where there are more financial criminals.
2483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who are responsible for the bear run on: December 12, 2022, 01:11:38 PM

Bear markets always occur after the bull run, it's the cycle we know well in the crypto market. I'm not sure if someone really claimed it's SBF that cause this bear market but then this guy brought a massive drag. It's intentional as others see it.

While DoKwon seems to be really guilty, SBF is cleaning up the mess in the media like he is not guilty and Oleary the FTX spokesperson is about to back him up this Dec 14 hearing. It looks like SBF is going to freely walk away.
2484  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Manny Pacquiao vs. DK Yoo on: December 12, 2022, 12:59:50 PM

Can't believe Pacman KOed that Yootuber brutally, it doesn't look like an exhibition fight as Pacman exercise his full force to show his KO power. The exhibition that I have in mind is just like Tyson vs Jones who just keeps the pace while maintaining not to crush someone.

Anyway, congrats to Pacman. I see the exhibition gathered a lot of people in Korea. I'm guessing this is the first time they saw this legendary fighter set foot in Korea.
2485  Other / Off-topic / Re: How can a rookie freelancer get jobs? on: December 12, 2022, 02:22:59 AM
As a freelancer that just got a digital skill like digital marketing, copywriting, project management, graphics design, content marketing etc with no real experience how do you get jobs. Nobody or if any, very few people entrust their work to a rookie with no experience whatsoever. The only way one can be a pro at a skill he just learnt is by doing the work consistently for a while.

So to people here who are successful freelancer today, how did you do it? How were you able to get gigs when you were new to the field? I know what worked for Mr A may not necessarily work for Mr B but I'd really appreciate your insight.

I think the easiest thing to become a freelancer now is to become a YouTuber or blog writer, if it meets the requirements then you can submit it to an advertising program such as Google Adsense, it may require a process and not instant but as long as we are serious then we will succeed.

It would take time to build youtube vlog and monetizing thru Adsense. I think they need the channel to have at least 1000 subscribers. I'm also trying my luck for youtube to which I have gotten about 400+ subscribers. I might just cheat and buy fake subscribers but they might notice there is no activity from those users.

OP wants to make money by providing services and I think it might interest him to just go to the job sites like what is suggested above. It's not easy to get into the game because of the competition. He just has to be bold at doing all job applications and keep trying.
2486  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Bloody Year 2022 coming to End on: December 12, 2022, 01:59:16 AM
(....)
The above shameful scam has completely negative impact on the Bitcoin market in 2022.  We all hope that such incidents do not happen in cryptocurrencies in the coming years.
I believe that there are some advantages and disadvantages to what happened right now in the cryptocurrency space and all those huge losses too.
For me, cycles like the bull market and the bear market got this part where there are loses or scam that came out even last before the bear market in 2018 when a lot of projects turned into scams or some Ponzi schemes exploded as the bear market commence.
So for now, it's another level and the number is huge compared to before. For me, this is just a part, the market is cleaning up the market itself.

We can look at it that way but there are just retailers that also lost a lot of money which they can assume was stolen from them because of these bloody events. These bloody events as well are somehow not very coincident.

Investors can only look at this bear market to be an opportunity to make millions when they have money but for those who have lost because of these scams, it is a horrible nightmare. Not very sure if this is about to end actually.
2487  Economy / Economics / Re: LMAO: Lagarde says Euro CBDC seeks to 'ensure high standars of privacy'. on: December 11, 2022, 05:44:24 PM
The bad thing about this is that I am sure that the majority of the population will believe it. The digital euro, with which they are going to control all payments and be able to put an expiry date on it or block it if they feel like it, they have started to sell it as something that is convenient for the population, of course.

Digital euro: a common European project

On the subject of privacy, I'm laughing my head off:

Quote
The first one is privacy. In our public consultation, 43% of respondents ranked privacy as the most important aspect of the digital euro, well ahead of other features. So it is clear that if we want the digital euro to be attractive, it needs to be designed in a way that meets people's privacy expectations.

We seek to ensure high standards of privacy for digital euro users. But full anonymity – such as offered by cash – does not appear a viable option in my opinion. It would contravene other public policy objectives such as ensuring compliance with anti-money laundering rules and combating the financing of terrorism. And it would also make it virtually impossible to limit the use of the digital euro as a form of investment – for example via holding limits or tiered remuneration – for which identities of users need to be known.

We should at least provide a level of privacy equal to that of current electronic payment solutions.

So, no privacy.

NONE! How can you trust a centralized entity who says that they will give you your privacy. The cabal behind Central Banks WILL LIE to you, and make everyone believe that CBDC is good for society, and WILL LIE to you and convince everyone that Bitcoin censorship-resistance = "bad".

BUT CBDC should be encouraged by the community because it will make Bitcoin self-sovereignty and censorship-resistance more valuable.

The majority of the population doesn't really suspect what else is there when the government tries to experiment on them.

I believe many people/users of CBDC won't suspect anything during the first implementation. Everyone will be astonished in how "covenient", "fast", and "frictionless" CBDC usages are until one day the first iterations of censorship start to happen.

Will I be using CBDC? I will be using CBDC because everyone may never have a choice, BUT I will always have my Bitcoin if I need censorship-resistant, hard-money.

You will be forced to use CBDC since everyone will be using it and you may not be able to make transactions to buy something you need.

People are not aware in most cases. No one ever complains anymore because they are going to be poor by the time this war and the high gas price extends to another year. People are not aware they've experimented, we're all getting fooled by this climate change.
2488  Economy / Economics / Re: Russian Gas ban - A problem for Europe or suicide for Russia? on: December 11, 2022, 02:34:52 PM
Of course the most loss is Europe because gas supply is not easy and it is very difficult to find alternative energy for gas, especially many countries that are very dependent on Russian gas so that it becomes a strong bargaining value so that Europe does not dare to attack or invasion Russia.
The war has entered its 10th month, Russia and the EU have continuously introduced sanctions against each other, so far no country has won a victory. Recently, the EU also launched new sanctions to impose an oil price ceiling on Russia and Russia threatened to retaliate. Overall, Russia is unlikely to be damaged and the EU is unlikely to win. But what I see is that oil supply will be cut and oil prices will skyrocket in the near term is very high and the world will continue to fall into the energy crisis again and push inflation higher.

Inflation going higher is where we are going with all these sanctions that never affect Russia but only accumulated allies instead. We have already seen some news about the EU not being united anymore. And there was an attempted coup in Germany.

Gas is already higher 10 months ago and with OPEC cutting more of thier production, we're de-industrialized day by day.

Obviously, there is some kind of mutual understanding going on between Dana and Paddy. Dana wants him to be the next poster boy for sure.
I don't know if this is going to be a wise decision made by the UFC or not. Because I certainly think that Paddy has the potential to be the next poster boy for the UFC.
Terrible performance by Paddy Pimblett and clearly lost the first and third round and he still won the fight, what a magical performance by the judges  Cheesy.

~
Till Just won by Submission which is quite a good recovery for his career. He's been pretty much on a disastrous path if he loses again, Driving intoxicated might not be the worse he'll get into.
Which fight you were watching mate, Darren Till got whooped left and right and got submitted. He needs to consider what he needs to do about his career as his alliance with Khamzat Chimaev is not helping his career either.

Paddy might win. I'm 50/50 but am close to 100% that Ankalaev will win against Yan. The wrestling can bring him down.
Magomed Ankalaev is my prediction in this fight and another title for Dagestan and they are taking over the fight world.

It's the other way around! Damn update. He seems to be very confident in thier face-off. He use to be a fighter that Dana favored thinking he can become one that will also bring good promotion for UFC. If Khamzat didn't appear to be a villain in the UFC, it could help Till's career. Right now it's more like sinking deeper after this loss.
2490  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tether: USDT is the next token to crash / Tether fraud exposed on: December 11, 2022, 05:32:40 AM

Companies in an offshore location are obviously hiding something from the government.
This has been an issue for a very long time. That auditing Tether becomes impossible because them just reasoning it will take time. If the government can print USD just as much as they want, this is also Tether printing as much as they can. We are still in this old fiat system because of this stablecoin.

Fair play to Topuria beating Mitchell. Was kinda hoping it would go the other way.

Hoping Till and Paddy both win their fights. Till winning his will be a massive statement

2492  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 Oscar Awards betting and discussions on: December 11, 2022, 03:40:46 AM
@dezoel. I agree that much of the people in the world do not care about climate change, however, we are not talking about the world. We are talking about the Oscar Awards and the members of the Academy of motion picture arts and science who are followers of the idea of wokism, LGBTQ and climate change hehehe.

It could be because Oscar or any other event is where the political agenda is carried out and for the message to be sent across the globe, Oscar will make AVATAR 2 win.

I doubt Farell will have a close vote with Fraser. The movie is hilarious but also has a dark comedy theme. One of Farell's best performance, he'll be nominated it's just unfortunate that he is competing with the most relatable movie for the population today which is the Whale.
2493  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have Lucky Casino? on: December 10, 2022, 04:50:24 PM
If by lucky you mean, a casino that favors your options, then by all means I think everyone who gambles should have one. After all, it is the experience one has from one that he/she uses for another. A newbie in the casino world may not understand clearly the distinction between having a lucky casino and actually trying out several others to learn along the way, but after trying out all, he/she would without an element of doubt have one that favors them the most. Either the bonuses, rewards or features are compressive enough to stick with or other reasons bothering on how the app runs on ones phone, for online users.
Majority of the users could be having the lucky caisno. People just find it to give them better winning probability and this makes them go deposit and play on the specific platform. Luck favours, but the same shouldn't be expected to happen all the time or forever. When we keep on going we'll understand, at the end gambling house will be the winner.

I don't understand with the majority of users having lucky casino. if for the most favorite casino yes, we have it.

as far as my experience and what is called luck, until now there is no formula. so, most likely it is just a mere coincidence or suggestion that affects our thoughts and feelings. in essence, playing in any casino is the same. when luck is not on our side, defeat is inevitable. It should be noted, playing gambling games based on luck. our chances of winning that big win, the probability is very small.except, if luck is on our side.

imagine, there are many gamblers who play the same slot game. and we, are competing with other gamblers to get good rewards let alone hope from free spins. so basically, we are trying our luck with ourselves. however, from a reward standpoint. a type of luck-based gambling, offering unique rewards. if we are lucky, the prize is fantastic. and finally, it is the luck factor that determines it.

While it sounds ridiculous, some people really do have lucky casinos. This is because these people believe in luck so much to the point that they attribute all the good things that has happened to them or will happen to them with casino being lucky for their gameplay.

We really are the ones who are trying to get the best shot of odds in risking. Our fate is our own nemesis. Hence, we should always expect the unexpected. Relying so much on luck won't do any good if you are stupid at making risk assessment and analysis.

I didn't consider it my lucky casino but I do keep going back despite losing some of my funds at the casino. Ridiculous as it may seem but sure I also win sometimes.

I invested in a casino token such as bethash.io where I earn some tokens every day on them as part of the shared profit upon staking their token. Sometimes I just bet my earning a day in one dice roll and then move on. It's a small amount though.
2494  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does the bitcoin community currently trust Tether? on: December 10, 2022, 01:56:11 PM
I have no reason to distrust USDT, I keep this as my trading pair for many years (BTC/USDT).
Yes, it is a stablecoin, it was centralized and controlled by someone but I'd never think it was totally risky holding this for at least a few days. Maybe if we talk about holding long-term, that is another story but if we just use it for trading, I think there is no problem, and still can be trusted.

What happened to Luna is another story, Tether is one of the top 5 coins in the market which means that many people give trust despite the negative views of stablecoins.

So far USDT is the oldest stablecoin and has been used by traders since the start. There are however issues with USDT because we are really unsure if this is really audited and if it's true that they have a real USD amount held by the company.

It wouldn't be surprising if Circle or Tether will also scam just as how SBF did and no one will ever go to prison. So just a precaution, use a percentage of your stablecoin with DAI or BUSD also.
2495  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Gambing Halal or Haram According to Jewish Or Christian Faith? on: December 10, 2022, 01:38:57 PM
In Christianity, there is no where gambling is mentioned in the bible that it is a sin. In the church, pastor will not even want to talk about gambling. But if a pastor is asked if gambling is a sin, he would say the love of money is the root of all evil and uses some chapters in the bible to discourage you which can be followed with some practical examples of how some people lost to gambling. All he will be pointing to is that it is better not to gamble.

But not where in the bible that gambling is referred to as a sin in christianity.

There is a chapter that mentioned, it's wrong in the bible. I remember a pastor who said it to me a long time ago but it's not really clear if it's what it means you may be interested to read it.

Before you arrive at this Proverbs 1:14, you should first start reading from Proverbs 1:10 because that's when it says it's not good to follow what others do. How we interpret these words is just like how and what we want to hear.
2496  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you work on Bitcoin full-time? on: December 10, 2022, 07:34:10 AM
Getting paid in BTC is probably what he meant. But Yes. Though I'm not legendary, I would likely want to earn BTC full-time if there is just an employer who would hire someone for whatever job that is. There use to be a job market in crypto but it's not used by employers though.

I'd like to apply if anyone is just hiring for whatever job there is. Right now I have been developing my youtube channel. Once have gotten many subscribers, I'd be happy to work for any company hiring influencer.  Cheesy

The winter in the crypto industry will eventually pass, but not all of them will succeed. In fact, not only the encrypted world, but also the layoffs in the real world are terrible. The economic situation is declining, and the economic crisis is not just Bitcoin and his little brothers.
Quote
As of November 17, 2022, at least 132 technology companies with headquarters or offices located in the San Francisco Bay Area have released 141 layoff information this year, totaling about 43,000 layoffs.

Yep more stores in the real world are closing. I've read Walmart and Cosco is also struggling just like many companies that are laying off so it's not the normal winter we experience after halving in the past.

The news every day is all about inflation and war still. The longer they tend to continue the lower the price may be because of the media about FTX. One of the most respected influencers like Mark Moss said that 2021 bull run could be the last bull run in BTC, is it possible?

this site is a scumbag, what a fraud, moderators are clowns without knowledge, suckers, I do not recommend this shit
hello what problem are you facing? I play at betfurry without burden and problems, deposits and withdrawals are done quickly, my experience playing at betfurry is quite satisfying

can you tell me about your problem?
Don't mind him. It's just like throw-away account to create spam about betfury. He is might be just lose on betfury , then blame the site because of his greed. You can see he only has 3 post, and the first was about betfury as well on this April.

All casinos here are competing each other some of them may have some plans of destroying other's reputation or he could be telling the truth but it's hard to believe for just $880 that Betfury will ruin itself.

Once all of them are mined, no new BFG will enter circulation. Therefore, when all tokens are emitted, this will increase the value of BFG, since new tokens will not enter the market, and existing ones will be burned periodically. Currently, BFG has many utility opportunities: Staking, playing, getting bonuses, and trading. Then the only way to get BFG tokens will be to exchange them.
I am hoping that this is a promise you are going to keep, as this totally changes my whole perspective on BFG tokenomics.

What do you think are the main reasons why people would keep playing in Betfury without mining incentives? I mean there are ton of good casinos out there so what's your gimmick that would make people choose to keep coming in here without mining that made this somewhat a special place? Or is there some secret marketing tactic you can't yet reveal?

They do have a good plan and they have been burning tokens too. We'll just find out what will happen after all tokens are mined.
The gimmick I guess is the betfury free boxes? 17 sats, can they even withdraw if someone patiently claims them for a year?

2499  Economy / Speculation / Re: How we know btc not going to 100$ ?? on: December 09, 2022, 01:27:13 PM

Back in the 2018 bear market, BTC didn't fall that low. While the 2018 BTC supply is much higher than today and didn't fall to $100, it should tell us that today has less supply and will not fall down to $3000.

But you know the global geopolitics is at risk though so what is happening including the war makes the market vulnerable. If WW3 suddenly happens, we're going to plunge.

2500  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's your opinion on the future of Decentralised exchanges on: December 09, 2022, 04:28:41 AM
Will decentralised exchanges get more attention now that FTX secrets is all out? Will people now trust decentralised exchanges more than centralised exchanges? Cos the only thing still standing tall right now is Binance, I believe this is the only CEX people still give full face 😂  but it seems like Uniswap and Pancake will take the lead in near future?
I couldn't assume that this will affect and influence attention to the community but what just I see is that what happened to FTX will affect the trust in CEX.
And even Binance could not escape from it and the criticism made but of course, reputable exchanges whether it was Centralized or Decentralized exchanges will remain active and stand strong despite what is happening around them because their intention is not to fail people's views and scams traders but for them to give satisfying services and can be trusted.
Reputable exchanges will always be reputable, unless if they start changing their perception and start ruining their own credibility. But I know having Binance as the topmost reputable centralized exchange, will always be like that because they have set their goals and have eventually achieved it in the longest period. However, with FTX scandal, everyone is scared now to trust another centralized exchange, so if there will be proven reputable decentralized exchange, for sure it will pave its way now and start to be noticed.

We haven't seen any difference to the rules of the CEX so far but due to FTX scams and SEC extending thier hands over to the EU and ASIA might change how CEX operates like banning BTC addresses linked to Russia or something like this which will make people go to DEX.

Last bullrun the volume on DEX like uniswap beats other CEX. That was the first so far we have seen. The order book type of DEX however is not very enticing.
