"As you have noted, several people within UCL, including Navin Ramachandran has expressed their frustration and perplexion toward this act. In fact, we are still not sure whether this is a website being hacked or someone rogue in CBT that put this up. Making such a drastic statement and decision based on falsehoods on a Friday night when no one can reach the people involved is not protocol for a prestigious university or any of its affiliates (CBT).
We have reached out to the directors of UCL CBT pending resolution, but again due to the odd timing, we probably won't have any official response until Monday.
On the topic of IOTA Foundation's attitude toward cryptography researchers, that there is an 'issue' here is a misconception that gets repeated by bad reporting. The IOTA Foundation has always been and is still working very closely with globally renowned cryptographers, mathematicians, and other computer science researchers. There is absolutely no tension here beyond the false narrative pushed by a handful of people. I will once more underscore that the IOTA Foundation has never threatened any researchers for their work, of course not, and we condemn the very idea of doing so, which we have denounced publicly repeatedly. "

No, there is nothing you have to do in preparation. After the snapshot you will have to generate/attach some addresses to see your balance again in the wallet. |

Manufacturers will likely install the software, have nodes available and offer a contract discount or buy the data outright. It makes little sense for a private citizen to go through the setup of a node for a few extra cents a month (...)

I don't know much about POC. Basically how does it work in a sistem where there is no revenue for who is running a Node?
With IOTA you have to get rid of the thought, that the node itself will give you any monetary benefit. Your node is just a catalysator for your business. Watch this PoC and think about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymbbM3WfPQcElaad NL will have nodes in each of these charging stations. The nodes don't make them any money. But the people who charge their cars their and pay with IOTA for the electricity make them money. They might make money even without having their own nodes in these stations, but to make the whole IOTA network work fast, stable and reliable, it's in their own best interest, to have these nodes in their stations. This is just a cost-benefit ratio decision. If the IOTA network works properly and the customers are satisfied with the service, they will make much more money than these nodes cost them in the end. Think about smart homes. If you have some solar panels on your house and don't use all the electricity generated, you can just sell the spare electricity with IOTA. So you might think about setting up your own node, to help the network keep running smooth. The node is some extra cost (and work), but it assures, you will be able sell some electricity, which will make you even more money. |

Im Zweifel nein, Stand heute. Stell dir mal vor, es gibt einen Laden mit Milch, einen mit Wurst, einen mit Obst etc. Und dann gibt es einen Laden mit allem. Wo gehen wohl die meisten Leute hin ? Will sagen, es kann nicht für jeden Dreck einen eigenen Token geben, irgendein powerhouse wird sich am Ende durchsetzen, der Standard werden und die meisten dieser use-cases bedienen. Ein paar kleinere Nischen-Token werden aber sicherlich trotzdem überleben. Ist wie im richtigen Leben. Wenn du einen neuen Laptop haben willst, dann gehst du zu einem großen Elektronik-Fachmarkt oder bestellst im Internet. Der kleine Fachmann um die Ecke schaut in die Röhre. Wenn du ein Shampoo haben willst, dann nimmst das eben im Supermarkt mit und gehst nicht extra in die Drogerie. Trotzdem kannst du auch mit (d)einem Art-Token Geld machen, denn es wird ein bisschen dauern, bis sich das alles eingespielt hat. |

Bin gespannt was da in Zukunft noch alles kommen wird.. bis dato magere Konkurrenz, wundert mich fast dass zwar Projekte wie Sand aus dem Meer auftauchen, aber doch (fast) alle auf die Blockchain zurückgreifen, wo die Tangletechnologie doch einen riesigen Anwendungsbereich findet, der mit Blockchain schwer realisierbar ist (soweit ich das als Nicht-Techniker beurteilen kann)
Einfache Antwort - weil es einfach ist*. Verabschiede dich von dem Gedanken, dass diese ganzen Projekte (99%) die Welt verbessern wollen und altruistisch handeln. Sie wollen Kohle machen, ein Stück vom Kuchen haben, bevor das große Aufräumen stattfindet. Was macht man also ? Schnell mal einen ERC20-Token aufsetzen, eine fesche Website, Twitter, Airdop veranstalten und den Telegram-Channel aufblasen, ein paar Shills bezahlen, der Rest shillt vielleicht freiwillig, ICO etc. Kein Mensch braucht diesen ganzen Schrott, der da tagtäglich das Licht der Welt erblickt. Aber es funktioniert trotzdem ziemlich gut, wobei sehr viele ICO's zur Zeit arg zu kämpfen haben. Z.b Dentacoin, mit welchem Recht ist sowas $275.000.000 wert ? *und eine Tokenisierung auf den DAG's noch nicht möglich ist, kommt aber und dann geht es dort weiter. |

Dass du überhaupt 22 Minuten mit dem telefoniert hast, ist schon eine Leistung Du willst zwar in gewisser Weise etwas von ihm, aber er will mehr von dir, also wird nach deinen Regeln gespielt. Wenn er nicht akzeptiert (und du das Geld nicht händeringend brauchst), dann einfach auflegen, lass dich nicht einschüchtern. Kommen bestimmt noch andere Interessenten. Ich würde eventuelll eher über einen Makler verkaufen. Ist zwar bisschen rausgeschmissenes Geld, aber am Ende alles eine Kosten-Nutzen-Rechnung. |

I'm still waiting to hear David excuse this time for not processing my claim. The previous claim, he said he needed KYC which he didn't inform anyone during the claiming period. Now we have done the KYC and he still refused to send the IOTA. Try discord, you won't get your case solved in here most likely. |

Hm... naja ich kann ja nachweisen dass mein Hauptwohnsitz und Lebensmittelpunkt in England ist, Deutschland geht ja dann wohl hoechstens als Zweitwohnsitz durch. Also wenn ich wirklich schon ne Steuerlast habe, dann in England wuerde ich sagen. Wenn ich allerdings mein "initial investment" und den Freibetrag von 11500£ kalkuliere, glaube ich nicht dass ich ein steuerpflichtigen Gewinn habe momentan.

Dein Fall scheint aufgrund deiner Melde-/Aufenthaltssituation etwas komplizierter, da unklar ist, in welchem Land du denn nun eigentlich steuerpflichtig bist. Darüber können wir nun spekulieren, dies und das vermuten, aber Annahmen bringen dich nicht weiter. Wenn du dich wirklich so verhalten willst, wie oben beschrieben, dann geh zu einem Fachmann und lass dich beraten. |
