I accept this offer. I have about 12k Nxt. make me an offer

Quote
Hahaha so much noise for 12000 NXT . Rofl

Quote
so much lol... even i lol'd at that..lol

Even though I had more than 12k Nxt when I started dumping, the elitist attitude above regarding anyone not holding Millions of Nxt is another reason I am getting out. 12,000 Nxt is almost $500 worth but obviously you people live in a universe where that amounts to some kind of toilet paper.

Good luck Brian, I am sure we will see you again.
2503  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: April 02, 2014, 07:28:46 PM

So if BCNext said that Nxt will be in your morning cereal, would you have bought as much Nxt as possible?   His 3rd part wasn't a plan at all, it was a philosophical interpretation of what he thinks of BTC, Nxt, etc.. with no specifics, and his thoughts are just that, they have no affect and influence on what Nxt has/will become.  I will buy all of your Nxt for Ripple or BTC right now, put your money where your mouth is.

Bump   Grin

You have an easy way out, you could try Nxt again in 6 weeks when we are further down the line? It might make you feel better.

Why is somebody adding a '*' to the name of the thread?

Don't get hysterical, it is actually a ! that is the problem Grin

And because it doesn't prevent you from doing so, obviously.

Now were breaking down the 7000 buy wall, dropped from 350,000 to 311,000.

Go go go!  Grin

Edit: Shock!! A 228,000 buy wall has appeared below the 7000 at 6999!   Shocked Shocked

for the asset exchange.. in terms of adding support for fiat currencies..

seller puts 100 coins in escrow plus 10 collateral. buyer puts up 20 also. sends money, seller confirms receipt of money, 10 gets released back to seller, 100 coins from seller plus 20 put up for collateral gets released back to buyer,

that way neither can gain from trying to con the other... coins arent release until money is confirmed, if seller claims money wasnt sent seller looses 10 percent.. plus coins up for sale,

if buyer doesnt send money he looses his 20percent  no incentive to not pay as he will actually loose 20 percent of his money..  if this was implemented buying coins could actually be faster on AE then through 3rd party..

imagine you want to buy off someone thats with the same bank.. online banking you pay within minutes and coins get sent..

edited a bit cos of a few errors..

guessing its a bad idea from the lack of response?

I only scanned your post... but Automated Transactions are trustless escrows. Does this simplify your problem?

Meanwhile, over at bter, the ever watched price creeps toward 7000 again with HUGE 6 figure orders on both sides...

Both are locked on 6784, lets see who wins this battle  Grin

While BTC is exploring new lows...

The buyers have it as the price pops to 6800 and above! Then withdraws in the face of a bigger buy wall at 7000  Cheesy

Why is no one talking about the bombshell C-F-B dropped last night in releasing the 3rd part of BCNext plan, which was basically one paragraph saying NXT was just an experiment and will fail without altrustic human cooperation?

I was hoping it was an April Fools joke but I don't think it was. If so, I've already dumped half my Nxt because of it.

Very pessimistic interpretation.

I don't think it is. I've been asking here for months how you are going to get little fish to forge, how we'll get instant 1000 TPS as promised, whether the network is safe being protected only by big fish forging and no one would give a straight answer. I also come to learn Nxt doesn't work without CENTRALIZED high power VPS nodes being run at expense to anyone wanting to do so, which makes it NO different than Ripple, which by the way DOES have instant transactions.

The 3rd part of the plan basically explained everything. Nxt is not an elegant financial solution. It won't work without centralization and as people lose interest the network will become weaker and weaker. Meanwhile other people are coming up with real solutions that don't involve everyone holding hands and singing Koom-By_Ya.

Guys call me crazy but this is how I see NXT after being a part of it for 3 months.
The only shitty thing about NXT is its distribution. We all know that in this community, also everybody in Bitcoin world know that.
That is why is important that price is as low as possible these first months, to re-distribute as much as possible since initial distribution is flawed. This is where we can see comments from BCNext allegedly that price for him is not important.

Than we have "hot and cold" comments from CFB all the time. Sometimes in his comments he cares about NXT, sometimes it seems that he doesn't give a f**k. Why? Well 2 reasons.
First, again keep the price as low as possible to re-distribute.
Second reason, make community take its destiny in its own hands and don't rely solely on some imaginary character (BCNext) that he will come and save us all while we do nothing.

These are two main keys for NXT to succeed.
1. Redistribution.
2. Involve the community, everybody must contribute.

Two main devs (or just one dev with two different usernames) have recognized this a long time ago.

To summarize all of the above, BCNext=CFB!!

Makes sense as well. So we have Vitalik and CfB. Let's add the 3rd guy. What about Dan of eMunie?

And Elmo  Cheesy

Nah, lets not start that again... Grin

Will TM be implemented before you leave?

I'm not sure I'm going to leave. Going to stay for longer than I expected.

The developments from the usual activity/exploit of the Nxt Mainnet from earlier can be followed here:>>>

https://nxtforum.org/general-discussion/bug-report-severe-ddos-attack-and-unfair-forging/

So far we have a whitehat guy helping our devs (Doctor Evil style) and there is nothing to worry about.

i wouldnt call him whitehat.  He was definitely grey-hat, even bordering on black hat.  The community's response could have very well drove him blackhat.

Its not like he was the evilknievel dude who was a complete douchenozzle when he came around with demands, w/o any proof whatsoever; this dude had an *active* exploit and people were daring him to do his worst

I think I would have to agree   Cheesy

Still, there is plenty of time for him to change our opinions.

This is some kind of DoS attack, just simple restart your NRS could overcome it, not as danger as what DrEvil found.

If you DDOS all the nodes and you have the only patched client that forges, you can forge all the blocks. Then if you can forge 10+ blocks in a row filling them with fake transactions that benefit you? And this being the first of more than one bug that is being worked through?

I don't know, let's wait and see  Smiley
