2501  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did they not know about the importance of Bitcoin? on: March 04, 2023, 10:37:58 AM
To me I'll say it was the best decision they made at that moment, it could be that these transactions they made within those periods where part of the catalyst that made a boost to what we are enjoying today in higher value as bitcoin. The price of a gold sold at $100 some 40 years ago may be selling at $10k today, that doesn't mean that those that sold theirs 40years ago made a mistake or that they didn't know the value, what they did was just business at the very value it were.
Now today bitcoin is at $23k and many persons are selling theirs, if the price hits 100k in the next 15 years to come that doesnt mean tht those that sold theirs at 23k didn't know the importance. Based on the times and intervals it was the best value for each of them.
2502  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: March 03, 2023, 10:03:08 PM
It has been five weeks since Chelsea got their last win in the Premier League. The thing more horrible for them is that they were able to score only 1 goal in these 5 matches. Can you imagine how serious their situation is now? They have been making transfers for the attacking area with the aim of increasing the productivity level. Maybe they are able create many dangerous attacks but they just can't finish them up with a goal. I really don't know what more they need to do from now on.

Normally Leeds aren't a match for them but I can't believe in Chelsea to win in this situation. But I hope that this match would be the one that their horrible streak ends.
Chelsea has been a top four contender club for over two decades now and nothing but the top four. A club that even being in the Europa league is like a let down to the club but today same club is struggling to escape away around the ten position on the EPL table cause of lack of effective organisation. Potter as a coach is still at the grooming stage of club management and him managing Chelsea exposes this fact that he's not manager enough with the needed experience to manage a top four club in the EPL. Chelsea has the players that every good coach can use to win streaks of matches which Leeds wouldn't be a club to bother oneself about but today with the likes of Potter Chelsea is not only struggling to win but also having no hope in getting draws from even the least teams on the EPL. Something is seriously wrong!

2504  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for March on: March 03, 2023, 07:39:43 PM
The market price in the month of march wouldn't make a significant difference from that of February as I don't expect it to go above 25k, based on support turning to resistance at around 32k above, I don't see it breaking above that resistance level this march. In other words we would be seeing some candlesticks fake outs or retesting around that 32k-36k zone then with a drop back to 24 or 23k within this month of march as the case may be. Except all things been equal a global economic situations occurs that stimulates the market.
2505  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitcoin Bookstore on: March 03, 2023, 01:18:35 PM
And if you like the project, please support it by buying your next Bitcoin book through the website so we get a small commission on the sales Wink.
Amazon gift cards paid with Bitcoin could work as alternative, but I prefer direct BTC payments.
The project is quite an interesting one with very much of rich informative books that many bitcoiners would really love to have their hands on them and with the use of BTC for direct payment it's gonna attract much sales from a lot of forum users who would like to give it a first hand trial.
They just have to make their payment options broad.
2506  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Casinos lack slot clubs; comps, is it hard to achieve? on: March 03, 2023, 04:16:17 AM
Well, just like the real casinos offer some free stuff to their customers, online casinos provide some things like: RakeBack, CashBack, VIP programs, free spins, chat rains, and Social Networks Giveaways...
Just a buttress-root, though not often but there are few cases where online casinos offers to provide unexpensed paid trips and free shoppings to high valued and VIP ustomers based on certain criteria sets just to boost and encourage more patronage. And they also have other little ways they carry the low spender gamblers along too.
2507  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The disadvantage of the cashless procedure on: March 02, 2023, 05:48:50 PM
The hardship is not only coming from the cashless policy situation itself but also from the unscrupulous opportunists that have decided to use the medium to unjustly enrich themselves while putting others in a tight corner amidst a very limited source of having access to physical cash. And these people are the likes of POS operators, fuel station pump attendants selling the fiat to PoS operators who later come to sell same fiat in higher proportion that only worsen the financial situation of the naira scarcity we're facing.
For me, it's the the cashless policy that's a problem, it's rather Nigerians alike that are usurping and unduly extorting the process.
2508  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do people go into gambling? on: March 02, 2023, 03:26:55 PM
Why do people go into gambling?
I asked this question here because I can't get the answer.
However, in my observation, I found out that most people go into gambling because they think that's the easiest way to make big money.
Please is it true?
The way gambling is now structured it's not in any way meant to make anyone rich, and people that understands this idea that the gambling companies aren't charity homes have taken gambling to be just a leisure activity for fun, and time cruising subject even as they are careful not to loss their themselves financially into it. Coming to your observation of people engaging into gambling cause they see it as easiest way to make big money, I think people with such perspective towards gambling are a lazy-poor sets of persons and the truth is gambling is just a game of luck entirely, it doesn't promise wealth.
2509  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Emotion and Trade? on: March 02, 2023, 07:54:30 AM
I guess for someone to call him or her self a trader you need to control your emotions right, now after having that emotion in control and other basic things a trader should know you have all under control and still loss more then getting profit.

*What else is required for such a person to control,is it still his or her emotions or what next?
If as a trader you're sure of being in charge of your emotions having in place the needed trading skills to at least be able to afford you some good profits buy yet nothing forth coming then in this case I suspect a lack of patience within such trader. If you're sure of your analysis before initiating a trade then a multiple days or week of delay from seeing any fruition as earlier expected shouldn't make the trader cut out of the trade. There are times in my early trading stage that I have had to cut out of a trade because it wasn't giving me what I earlier hoped for, but about a few days after cutting off the trade that's I discover the trade starting to go as I earlier hoped but I was already out of the trade. Of which if I had given it a little more patience
2510  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beginner Necroposting and Bumping Question on: March 02, 2023, 07:44:38 AM
2. If I come across an old thread from 2021 and I think I have new input to contribute, would do you advice me to start a new thread instead of bumping the old one?
From others comments on this very question it's clear there's no conventional or consensus agreement among forum users on what should be done about in such case. It therefore suggest that you can use your discretion knowing when you're bumping or spamming on a particular thread that has already been discussion. And things that anyone should consider to knowing if you're spamming or should bump on an already existing thread is; the duration of such thread; when last was it edited or a comment was made in the thread was it 2 or 3 years ago; or are the answers to the question of the thread now obsolete and you have current updates to it which could be so elaborate.
2511  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you have any financial regrets ? on: March 01, 2023, 09:18:41 PM
When it comes to missing financial opportunities, there are two things involved for it to spark a necessary regre and unnecessary regret.
First is, having the resources available to getting the opportunity but you blatantly refused and decided to wave off showing no interest. While the second is, having the all interest to grab the financial opportunity buy with no available resources needed to achieving such opportunity, despite all efforts put down to getting it there was no way cause the resources to attaining the opportunity was lacking.
In the first case it's a situation of a necessary regrets where you had all it take to grab the opportunity against the future but you refused to grab it as a personal decision, only for such opportunity to gain a mind blowing value in the future. Such scenario the regret is one of necessity and deserving. While in the second case, it's a fault not yours that you couldn't grab the opportunity, you did all you could, only that the resources wasn't available at then to use to grab the opportunity against the future, so the regret for today becomes one that is unnecessary and not your fault. One sad part about life is, there are situations we are ready to taking great futuristic opportunities but there's no available resources to backup  ... How sad!
2512  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My $300 bet won $417,000 on: March 01, 2023, 09:01:29 PM
I can imagine how many gamblers that must have abandoned their account now running back to go dust the account for reuse. Actually this is a motivating real story not one cropped from only God knows where and these are the kinds of stories gamblers needs to be aware of. I understand that OP is an enduring gambler that places predictions on future games he has so much knowledge of and confident of having a win with despite how long it will take for the games to take place.
The take home here for me is, go for games you're sure of a clear win even though they are days away to the very day of playing, cause there are gamblers that don't like future games cause they feel they can't wait.
2513  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There is no way to know unless I ask on: March 01, 2023, 03:42:00 PM
Bitcoin insurance can only be possible if it's under regulations by a central institution and then it will demand that  you have to hand over accessibility of your asset to the insurance company but then what's the need for decentralization if such an idea of bitcoin insurance exists, cause it makes the whole decentralized system of a thing useless. Bitcoin is not printed like fiat money so where do you expect a replacement of loss bitcoins by the said insurance  maybe due to hack or stolen means or anything of such event. It's all complicated to think such insurance exist with bitcoin.
2514  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: I found a paper wallet on a beach ... seriously on: March 01, 2023, 03:19:29 PM
It does somewhat prove though that lost Bitcoin in this type of situation is actually harder to return to its original owner than if it was fiat.
How so? If someone loses their paper wallet, you can open threads in Internet boards. Or send some funds there with a message, describing where and how you found it. There's absolutely no manner to verify who's the one who lost their cash on the street, unless the physical wallet with the identity is also dropped.
I watched a movie where a certain rich man's son was kidnapped, and when the news was flash on TV stations about the incident, this rich man started receiving messages from multiple groups and persons demanding for a ransom claiming to have kidnapped the man's son whereas the actual kidnappers haven't contacted the man for any request yet. The man got confused not knowing who could be the real kidnapper. In same vein, should the founder of the wallet decides to open a thread on any internet or cryptocurrency boards/forum and got to entertain multiple persons claiming to be owners to the missing wallet and especially in a situation where there's no means of identification that was found in the physical wallet in which the paper wallet was found in. This subject now becomes rigorous and disturbing to knowing who the real owner is. Sometimes the real owner may not be using any of the socials, maybe!

In life we're all prone to mistakes as no one is above mistake, in order to avoid falling victim we should as much as we can to apply caution in all we do as the law is kinda blind to even acts some out of mistake, maybe because we can't really indicate which act was done deliberately or out of a mere mistake. The forum is not a difficult place to be for anyone as long the rules are followed with. Good a thing you must have leant from your supposed mistake not to repeat it, just give yourself to reading and knowing other forum rules and regulations as it will be of great guidance to your growth in the forum.

2516  Local / India / Re: Cryptocurrency 2023! on: February 28, 2023, 08:53:45 PM
Firstly our board left stranded, and our fellow community members should revive and start the discussions again as in the past and I hope I can engage into the discussions as well regularly.

What is the hope for cryptocurrency in India especially this year, in my opinion not looking too great since the implementation of new tax policy last year but with the next government can something will change if there is someone who is in the position of making policies and also understand the potential in cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.

Great! Someone took the initiative to post an engaging topic on this board, as I have stopped doing it due to zero engagement & zero merits from Merit sources. It seems most of them are inactive at the moment.

Now, coming to what you have asked. A lot of revenue from tax has gone as most investors, traders and those who made a living on Bitcoin have shifted to international exchanges. A lot of investors/traders have shifted or made arrangements to do their business in crypto tax friendly countries.

The Indian government wanted to reduce crypto engagement and in my opinion they have been successfull as a lot of Indian exchanges have declared a traffic drop. In 2023 I am sure the government would not make any changes to the law as it is a preparation year for the next election which is scheduled in 2024. You can expect a complete ban in 2025.
It's an unfortunate situation most especially when a government that's anti crypto and also at same time don't have a broad understanding of the potential employment gains and empowerment  that blockchain technology can offer to her citizens, their policies would one aimed at discouraging  every operations that's crypto-related. And this is the case with my country Nigeria where there's a coercive ban on all cryptocurrency operations and usage and these policies only make life difficult for those of us that are into cryptocurrency like bitcoin from freely making transactions of any kind except through a p2p.
2517  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is Neither Good or Bad on: February 28, 2023, 08:25:08 PM
Moderation is a key factor to self discipline in every activity we as humans engages in, and the lack of the consciousness of it leads to indiscipline which in gambling it leads to irresponsible gambling among gamblers and they end up blaming gambling as being bad activity to engage in. Whereas it's the gambler act of moderation  or lack of it towards gambling that either makes it look good or bad. The endpoint is that gambling is not for boys but for men and real men knows when to stop, takes responsibility and moves on even on abad day as if nothing happened.
2518  Economy / Marketplace / Re: List of stuff you can use bitcoin for. on: February 28, 2023, 07:59:23 AM
It's sadden that with the numerous lists of products and services with countries that do accepts bitcoin for buying and selling I just didn't observe any African country that's into this lists and this is not because we ain't aware about bitcoin, in fact we have more Africans in bitcointalk than some countries here but cause of the anti policies and programmes of the government's of the day against cryptocurrency operations in almost all of African countries this makes it impossible for business owners to dare to make use of bitcoin as means of exchange in their products and services.
I don't know but if am wrong about this, someone can kindly put me through.
2519  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Roqqu login problem on: February 28, 2023, 07:37:49 AM
I was ones using this app called roqqu then at a certain point I became dissatisfied with their pattern of services and features based on some difficulties I had with the app. I'll advise you try and reach out to their customers support center and lay your complain, they should be in good position to resolving your complaint.
Please try not to keep much money in that space it's just a friendly advise anyway!
2520  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading as a newbie? on: February 27, 2023, 08:17:35 PM
Recently I have been trying to come up with ways of making some money on the side and thinking of giving trading a go.

I have zero experience and have just been looking on Coinbase at the best and worst performers of the day.

I am thinking of buying coins that are 15% or more down and then selling once they pump 10% and move onto the next one that is 15% down and then again sell at 10% profit and just keep repeating.

Anyone done something similar or will it just lead me to losing my money?
Does trading really works actually this way as easily spoken? No I doubt it does! I jumped into a trade over three weeks ago based on the idea that the coin (GFT) has fallen to a reasonable level that I felt I can make a good profit from within at most three days time as it will pump high but as we speak I have spent three weeks and days more on that trade as am currently making a loss when I was hoping to make profit within a few days because the coin was down around a certain percent.
Why am I saying this? Trading is not so easy in the practical of it as it is with mouth talk or thoughts. There's always a higher chance that it will go against your prediction and expectations. The real key to trading as I have learned all this while is patience, it is a virtue that many traders lack especially when a trade is not going in their expected direction they rush to cut at loss.
