Morocco really surprised everyone with their confident and excellent performance they knew that how to play this game and what is the strength and weakness of the opponent. They deserved this win. We have watched the match between Morocco vs Portugal. One goal for Morocco became the capital for them to advance to the semi-finals. Portugal controlled the field up to 70%, but they were unable to score. Precisely more opportunities obtained by Morocco. Croatia defeated Brazil on penalties. Called it first. Unbelievable and unexpected result. Brazilians, including players, staff, spectators, and most people watching this match were all in shock! I said before I won't be surprised if Croatia won after seeing how they started the game but I thought that Brazil still could win. The game is quite hard for Brazil. Croatia controlled more the ball and threatened Brazil since the beginning. The first half was for Croatia but they failed to score.
For the second half, Brazil attempted to score and it was close and a penalty ruled out since there was an offside. Brazil made some substitution to renforce the attack line, we will see.. I won't be surprised if Brazil loses, although I still think they will pass Croatia..

However, the Portugal team is aware of that tactics that was used vs Spain so they will counter it in a way or another. They might use CR7 for free-kicks, Pepe for headers and the other forwarders to get a way to the goalkeeper. Southgate might still continue to do his job even if England are eliminated by France in this round of the World Cup. There are some news like he is wanted by The Football Association to stay until EURO 2024 at least. But I wonder what he is thinking about this now. Of course he would like to focused on their France match at the moment. Even if they don't get past France this is still not a bad run for them actually. Because they are facing one of the biggest contenders of the title already in the quarter finals.
But the last time England became the champions in the World Cup was in 1966. The supporters are believing in them to make it this time as they have a great momentum and a squad full of talented footballers. I think Southgate won't leave the team unless they find a better alternative.

I can't avoid that this is hype enough, many people predict about these two teams that will be going to be in the final. This makes sense, moreover, there are strong squads, and superstar footballers tata re n the same league club. This will be eye-catching. But, I am also still considering France. They also have a strong squad n this World Match. I am not sure that they will be lost easily. But, I know that everything is possible. Well, if we are looking at the chance based on their qualification and performance so far in the list, Brazil and France may be going to be the finalist. But, once more, we still can't count on it. Personally, I assume semi-finals games will be between Argentina - Brazil and Portugal - France (England chances aren't that far from France actually). I really do not think that Harry Kane is getting the love he deserves from Tottenham not to mention trophies. I really think that Tottenham will be able to win any trophies in the near future and as a player, that is a bummer.
Every player wants to win some trophies in their career, but if Kane stays in Tottenham, he will not be able to do so. Previously teams like Manchester City, and Bayern Munich were highly interested in him for Tottenham prevented him to go anywhere. So, I think it is high time he left that club, and if you are talking about the money he gets from Tottenham I'm pretty sure he will get paid more in bigger teams like Real Madrid Manchester City, or Bayern Munich.
There are some legends in few teams that played almost their whole career there and progressed with the team and resisted since they were able to achieve something at least locally. When it comes to Spurs, what they were able to do in the previous seasons? pretty much nothing.. No luck in EPL, in European competitions... Obviously Kane will try to improve elsewhere and get some rewards. Kane is a player that is professional, at the opposite of others, who make troubles with the coach and the team to force them to kick him. Raheem Sterling back for England but I expect the three lions to beat France without him. Just as long as Kyle Walker can limit Mbappe.
Luis Enrique fires (or did he quit?) from the Spanish national team, he should go back to Real Madrid once Ancelotti retires (well, I think he used to coach Madrid, anyway).
Sterling would be an advantage to England if he comes back to the squad before they face France. I'll be supporting England against France and this would be my first time supporting England.
Enrique never coached Madrid. He was a former Barcelona coach not Madrid and I don't think he'll go back to Barcelona. If he wants he would get a job soon but I believe he might just want to take a little break.
The future of Enrique will be determined later. There is a lack of coaches in top teams since they are rotating them quite rapidly these years.. For Sterling returns, it is a good thing to hire. I am not that enthusiastic about England beating France but everything could happen of course. |

They proved that Portugal can play well without Ronaldo. Portugal scored 6 goals without Ronaldo's contribution against Switzerland. They played very well. But if Ronaldo is fully fit then I don't think it is wise to leave him out of the squad. Because if Ronaldo is with the squad, the opponent's defenders will monitor Ronaldo more. This will make it easier for other players to score. Portugal didn't feel CR7 absence at all in yesterday's game and that was an important message to send to their opponents! I am quite shocked by Switzerland performance yesterday.. That was one of the worst matches played by them and one of the worst defeats in the actual World Cup. |

Personally, although from England I cant seem to enjoy the football we play, it's just boring. I feel France and Brazil are the 2 teams to beat, however personally I want Argentina to win, just so that Messi gets to lift the World Cup!
France has key players that could make difference, mainly Mbappe but also Giroud in front of the goal. England is quite strong and hard to kick them. It is about how fit is the players that day. The difference between the two teams aren't that big. I think France has more advantage. |

BTW, there is a plan from the Portugal coach not to play Ronaldo against Switzerland. It looks like the coach will make a mistake if he doesn't play Ronaldo in this match.
Santos is one of the most underrated coaches of our time (or the last decade). And yesterday his plan worked great. I think it was not to change Ronaldo at the end, but to do the opposite, release him after the first half, and start the game at a high pace with high pressure. Who knew that the pressure would be so successful and that Switzerland would not be ready for high speeds. As a result, Ronaldo was released into the phase of the game when it was actually completed and Portugal played to keep the score. I think in the game with Morocco he will be in the first team. CR7 has a bad attitude towards the others which leads him to be sanctioned in a way or another. There was some tensions between him and the staff but it was resolved tho. I am not sure if he will be picked to play vs Morocco since the beginning but I am pretty sure that he will not play full-time. |

I see so many who are proud of what Morocco has achieved, this is indeed not the first African team to reach the quarterfinals, several other teams have done this, but what makes me quite curious is whether anyone was brave enough to bet on Morocco yesterday? to be honest i didn't do that just bet on over 2.5 too bad it didn't work. Congratulations to Africa, which still has one team playing in this World Cup.
I assume there is some people who supported Morocco but definitely most people didn't expect to see them progressing this far. Morocco isn't the first African team to achieve that but it is the first Arabic and northern African one doing so if I am not wrong. Besides, Morocco eliminated Belgium and Spain which isn't easy at all!

This may be a good time to bet on Spain if you haven't done so because odds of 2.0 on moneyline is already decent enough. I expect them to increase the tempo and be more aggressive in the second half. I doubt Morrocco can beat them in terms of ball "handling" or possession so their best chance here is to catch them on the counter.
I hope that you didn't place a bet for Spain victory since they failed everyone tonight especially after wasting 3 successive penalties. I fail to remember a team missing penalty kicks like that  Portugal - Switzerland will start in less than an hour, will Portugal join Spain in the plane or not? I was wrong about the estimate that if the penalty took place then Spain would be the favourite. in fact Morocco remained superior and won in a penalty shootout.
