investing such a big amount of money into altcoins is not such a wise idea. unless you are a millionaire and 10K $ is like pocket change for you!

if you want to invest, then buy bitcoin and hodl it. as you can see it is only rising in the long term with each year 2x profit than the last year.

altcoins are sometimes good investments but they don't stay good for long. you can find some for a medium term investment such as 1-2 months but usually it is best to get out of them afterwards.

i have not lost interest in anything but my interest has shifted.
i am still very interested in bitcoin with all the shit that is going on with the fee war and the block size debate. i am still a bitcoin hodler

and as far as altcoins go i gave up on looking for anything interesting a long time ago, and now i am only looking for more moneyz show me da pumps.

all these fiat currencies such as dollar and Euro is there to help us have a better and easier outlook over things.
for example if we say bitcoin is worth x Zimbabwean dollar majority of people won't understand what you mean. but Dollar and Euro is more global and easy to understand. you can change it to any other dominant currency or even use Gold if you want.

nothing is going to happen that hasn't happened the past two times. the block reward will be half of what it is right now and if price continues going up (which my speculation says it is) then miners continue making profit. and if not some miners will leave, difficulty drops and we will continue using bitcoin as before !

i am not familiar with what services Blockchain.info uses for selling/buying bitcoin, it is rather a new service they added a couple of months ago.

but whenever you are using any service other than an exchange service, usually you will end up paying higher price than the current market price.

in other words if for example price is €990 on bitfinex and other exchanges (i am assuming bfx has € market!) if you buy through other services you pay €1000 and if you sell you get €980 per coin.
and this spread is always there to compensate for the costs of that service (they have to make profit too!).

actually coinmarketcap.com doesn't have any extra information other than what the exchange website you are using can offer you! and also their charts are pretty bad with terrible zoom and not so accurate data because of this zoom situation.

you are better of using the exchange charts instead.

and also the fact that coinmarketcap lists altcoins based on their market cap is a bad practice in my opinion.

some opportunities only take place once or twice during our lifetime and they don't ever repeat themselves.
what you are explaining was only true about bitcoin once during the <2009 years when price was lower than $1 and it had lots of potential (it still has).

there are still altcoins that "get pumped 100% or even more" but that is temporary. you can see it in their history.
so in other words don't think 5 years. instead think 1 month or better yet a couple of days up to 1 week.

with the amount of FUD spam in this board saying the same copy paste crap by bots with brand new accounts, i suppose it is temporary and won't last long.
most likely the dump before the rise when tomorrow fresh money flies in the market and buys them back up.

"bitcoin" has never helped me in anything, financial or otherwise.
"I" helped myself in all those cases, financial or otherwise. and bitcoin has always been only a tool that i used to achieve my goals. and it should be like this for everyone.
bitcoin and any other currency is a tool that if you can earn more of them you can be more successful. and as an investment if you get in while it is cheap and hodl it for long term you can be successful, otherwise there is no "magic" involved.

when we want to start learning how to trade and learning the ways, we have a big advantage and that is the fact that we are trading cryptocurrencies and they have low fees, very low minimum amount of trade size and lots of other benefits. but these two alone allows us to "test" things without losing any money. you can literary trade with 1000 satoshi and that is not even a unit in USD

we have seen the $1000 resistance be broken and now we are seeing bitcoin price sitting at $1060 but there are a lot of different things going on these days that can affect the price in short term.
one of them is the good old China and all the FUD that comes with it.
and then there is ETF and all the speculation about it which can go both ways depending on the result.

this is what i can agree on. and this actually is what i do.
obviously i am a Bitcoin Hodler for long term and when it comes to altcoins i am just a short term trader.

many say ethereum is going to be big and go to the moon in long term,... and lots of things like that. while i don't fully disagree with them but i say until i see some real potential and some real movement (not pumps) i don't see ethereum going to the moon at all.

i don't think anything in level of privacy is going to change for bitcoin, it is offering what it is offering and that is all. and besides people are satisfied with it. the privacy it offers is good enough for majority of people. and for any higher levels they can always use a mixer or even do some simpler things.

but this doesn't mean an anon coin such as monero that are offering some higher level of privacy can not take the market. i do believe that Monero is one of those coins that is going to grow in the future a lot.

the problem is that you want to get referrals for a cloudmining service and people are not so happy about investing in any cloudmining service even if they are legit!

when the SegWit hype is here, you will really see it. but it has not yet happened. that hype will be at least a 2x rise and even there is possibility of breaking the 0.01BTC resistance and going even higher to some records.
the volume has picked up though which is always a good sign of accumulation by the whales.

believe it or not we are living in a society and as a citizen you can't hide from the law and think you are above it just because you are using a cryptocurrency.
they need to be regulated.

although to answer OP i say things need to be done right. sometimes regulations aren't all good, sometimes they are too restrictive that will cause businesses to stay away from cryptocurrencies just because of these restrictions.
so as long as our privacy is not completely compromised and we aren't forced to do some crazy stuff just to use them i am for it.

get ready to buy cheap coins, i sense a wave of FUD coming on specially with the recent price rise today upto 1025 whales cashing out their shorts and would want to do another shakeout to buy back all the coins they have sold.

this may seem like the best way at first but this very same strategy becomes extremely risky at times like this when price fluctuations become harder to predict.
right now (in short term) we don't know if price is going down because China did something else stupid or will it go up because of other reasons such as the ETF hype.
and when it becomes hard to predict, it also becomes riskier to trade short.

it is happening everywhere and as long as internet existed! which means it is not limited to bitcoin. scammers are everywhere on the internet trying to make a quick buck of someone.

even in your signature (yobit) there are lots of scammers in the chat, a long time ago when i was messing around there to see what is happening i received a message from a member in chat saying "i will buy your coins with much higher price" then he said "send bitcoin to me using yobit codes and i will pay you after" as if i am idiot enough to send an irreversible funds on a platform that doesn't even have a support team

this coin has been going up pretty nicely and the percentage of profit seems to be good. but another thing that is important about these coins is their volume and the fact that they are being traded on unknown exchanges.

i just checked TUXexchange (one of the two exchanges that has the coin listed) , the volume they report (30-50 bitcoin) doesn't seem to be real. the orderbook is too thin from 0.02 to 0.1 sometimes which doesn't really make you a millionaire even if you were trading this.
