I do get your idea, but what is the point of waiting a vaccine if hunger will be a much, much larger problem we will have to fight with the more this "waiting" lasts?

As I said in the OP, there has never been a successful vaccine for a coronavirus. You might argue by telling me that we've never had a coronavirus pandemic before - but what about Sweden and Belarus going for the herd immunity and having absolutely no issue with it? What about the most recent models showing the deaths are way lower than we've been told in the beginning?

Why are we told that "herd immunity is going to do more damage and a lot of people are going to die" if the countries going for it are having no more deaths than the rest?

People have lost their jobs, we are starting to run out of food (read more about meat shortage in the USA which will affect the entire world; I've received some horrible news from some friends working with global food corporations and it certainly looks like that's the way we're heading for.

So right now we have actually two options and it looks different to yours: go for herd immunity and most likely have the same results as Sweden & Belarus or wait until food shortage and much larger issues come in, start a famine crisis and witness the death of possibly millions of people.

If at first I had to take this so-called pandemic 100% seriously, now I have a lot of questions I want an official answer for which include: why are people who talk about the dangers of vaccines silenced? Why are we so scared of this coronavirus if we've officially been informed that even those who died without the virus are supposed to have died from it and we count them as virus deaths? Why do we have to keep everything closed if the hospitals are empty? and so on...

It looks to me like somebody wants the recession/depression to come and we are waiting for nothing. Just imagine if we are going to wait for 10 more months for this vaccine and someone comes out and says "We are sorry to inform you, but there has been no successful vaccine".

Again - the vaccines are most likely not going to be properly tested before their release. This also explains the PREP act, have you seen it?

Quote
that provides immunity from liability (except for willful misconduct) for claims of loss caused, arising out of, relating to, or resulting from administration or use of countermeasures to diseases

So are we waiting for something that we aren't sure is going to do good instead of even more damage? If I am from the USA, I give my kids the vaccine and they die from it in a horrible way, the manufacturers have immunity from liability. What the hell is this?  Roll Eyes
2502  Local / Romānă (Romanian) / Re: Guvernul vine! ANAF si DIICOT ii urmaresc pe traderi on: April 27, 2020, 07:45:48 AM

Bine de stiut in orice caz. Smiley)))
2503  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 500$ - 30,000$ Gambling Challenge on: April 26, 2020, 10:31:59 PM
Best of luck with your challenge! Got me confused for a moment as you've mistaken 2020 for 2019 in the OP. Cheesy The win from 26th of April is pretty sweet, so you've basically doubled your bankroll within a day? At this pace, $30k is not far fetched at all!

If you don't mind my question, are you betting purely based on your own thoughts and gut feeling or are you following other gamblers to decide which team you're going for?

2505  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is sort of a Phoenix which Grows Stronger After it's Notice of Death on: April 26, 2020, 06:10:19 PM
How many times has Bitcoin's end been "predicted"? How many times has it ever happened?

Exactly. They have never been right. Although BTC had its ups and downs across the way, today it's sitting at a massive price of $7.6k and people are still "predicting" its death. Only 5 years ago it was under $200 and nobody thought it'd ever recover. meanwhile, I did. I thought it would, I cared about it and here I am sitting on the same position I was in 2013.

There are many opportunities around us but only few of us see them. Not everybody is an economist - if you call right now a completely random stranger that knows not so much about economics and ask them when it's the right time to buy and sell BTC, they'd have no idea or give a silly answer. Some of the Bitcoin hodlers are weak hands, have no vision towards the future or don't know the main rules of trading.
2506  Other / Off-topic / Re: ONLINE PRIVACY TOOLS + ADBLOCKERS on: April 26, 2020, 05:36:25 PM
If you want privacy and want to use Tor, it's absolutely useless if you do not use it the right way. There are lots of thigs you have to consider. One little mistake and your anonymity is over if someone wants to track your identity.

For example, I've seen people asking how they could log in to their Gmail as Tor isn't very friendly with Google services. Well, first of all, using Tor to log in to your personal e-mail makes no sense. It's like covering your entire face with a mask but wearing your ID printed on your t-shirt.

For more skeptical ones, use Tails or, even better, Qubes-Whonix. If you want more info about privacy tools, I recommend this website: https://www.privacytools.io/, it shares quite a lot of useful information, software and tools.

Die from the virus or die from hunger?
~
Start planting your own garden and die from none. If we did this, we could save us and others when food shortage comes.

~
With their funds depleting fast, it is safe to assume that they will most likely lift the quarantine or lockdown soon with or without the vaccine.
Lifting the quarantine is useless if you keep the same authoritarian rules alive and people still can't continue their plans, their jobs etc. We mistake "lifting the quarantine" for going back to normal. We're not going back to normal by only lifting the quarantine, it's only a little psychological relaxation but the main idea they're pushing for is still "we need the vaccine".
2508  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why most gamblers can never hold onto big bag? on: April 26, 2020, 04:51:56 PM
It is such a big and sad loss, Wasted a chance to get a large amount of money, 30 ETH now is more or less 5820 USD it is big money. Maybe greed comes on his way, thinking of getting a bigger amount and it ends in a tragedy. It happens for the second time maybe for the 3rd time he already learned his lesson. If he's your friend advise him for the better. He goes for a high risk high reward, sometimes it pays off sometimes not. If I was on his shoes maybe I would withdraw 50 to 80 % of it.
Money goes just as fast as it comes when you're gambling. If the dude would've earned 60ETH from 30, he would have continued to play with it hoping to get even more. You just don't know when to stop and the adrenaline makes it even worse. It's so easy to say what should've been done when the session is already over, but it isn't as easy to make the perfect bets when you're in the middle of it. Smiley
2509  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: My F****** Story With KRYPTONO Exchange on: April 26, 2020, 04:35:24 PM
Sorry to hear about your negative experience. This is the Internet - some part of it is good, some is bad. So be skeptical about anything you use, visit or download because you never know when you could hit yet another shitty website like Kryptono.

I'd advise you to try Atomic DEX. It may not have lots of coins on it but it does the job without KYC, scams or abusive rules. Atomic DEX is only for mobile - if you wish to use an exchange on your PC, go for Bisq. They have way more coins on their exchange and the volume is larger, but on the downside, it's harder to use.

Tl;dr: Try some decentralized exchanges. Feels nice to have the control in your own hands. Smiley
2510  Other / Serious discussion / To those waiting for the COVID-19 vaccine.. on: April 26, 2020, 04:07:17 PM
Coronavirus. Let's jump straight to the facts: authorities did know about it[1][2] way before we did. There never existed a successful coronavirus vaccine(I don't think I need sources for this one). In fact, immunization with SARS vaccines led to a pretty ugly result on challenge with the virus[3].

Surveillance is on the rise[4][5][6]. Models are starting to show that coronavirus, in fact, isn't as deadly as TV and MSM is showing us[7][8]. Meanwhile, hospitals are now only accepting COVID-19 cases and lots of them are actually.. empty[9]!

We're being told and taught to wait for the vaccine[10]. I see a large push towards mandatory vaccination laws[11]. Meanwhile, food shortage gets closer to reality[12][13][14]. Meanwhile, a significant number of people have lost their job due to the pandemic[15]. Meanwhile, a very ugly recession is approaching[16]. Meanwhile, countries which have decided to do nothing about the virus and simply let herd immunity happen: Sweden is weeks away from herd immunity[17] and Belarus is in no difficulty from the alleged pandemic[18]. None of these two countries are in a worse situation than other countries around the world.

Meanwhile, we are sitting and waiting for a vaccine. A vaccine that has never had a successful result on other coronaviruses. A vaccine that we're being taught is 100% going to exist in a matter of months or years, but nobody is telling us that it may never actually become a reality.

We're waiting for something that is uncertain, for something we've never been able to create so far, while food shortage and economical destruction is almost here. If food shortage becomes a thing, this pandemic will be nothing compared to the number of deaths caused by famine.

So what are you waiting for exactly?

As promova consumul, daca as avea cum si unde.

Quote
Under the rule 23 EStG, trading Bitcoins (or other cryptos) is considered a private sale which makes it totally tax-free. This is only part of the truth, as the law also states that anyone trading Bitcoins or altcoins are exempt from paying capital gains taxes ONLY if the gains are not higher than 600 EUR. Furthermore, investors deciding to sell their Bitcoin and altcoins after a period of one year from the purchase date are also fully exempt from taxes. Still, short-term trades are still taxed at 28%. Hence, Germany can be considered as a tax-free crypto country, but only partially.

Wink
I l-am dat eu pe ultimu' pentru tine Cheesy

By the way, stie cineva de aici daca ATM-urile inca mai sunt in viata in Romania?
2512  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What has hindered Bitcoin from getting mainstream adoption? on: April 26, 2020, 01:22:14 PM
The fact is that it's not all about exchanges. Most people think exchanges are everything a shitcoin needs to get mainstream and that's a very wrong idea. I think a coin needs to have some strong development behind in order to change its status from "shitcoin". If there's no development, there's no mass adoption.

However, even if we have constant and strong development on Bitcoin, we still don't have it mainstream yet. Why? Because it's not realistic to think of it as a widely used currency. It just won't work, it's against the idea of fiat as in it's transparent and requires a shit ton of money to be controlled, so unless there's a central entity to control it, authorities will not help it much to grow and pave its path as a currency..

Just imagine if we had transparent EUR and all those corrupt politicians' wallets could've been traceable. We'd put them all to the ground in a matter of days or weeks, as any suspicious movement would be transparent.

Bitcoin will probably remain the geeky-guy's coin while banks rise the flag of their newly created coin they can control in its entirety.

Yeah my aim is learn about each and every thing related to crypto and then i will surely know which way to go, i know there are many opportunities and directions in this market, thank you for your kind and detailed reply, i am sure i will keep learning more and more following people like you.
You don't have to follow me, I am probably not even among the top 100 best members out here. By actively participating in discussions, you're going to involuntarily learn new stuff and your knowledge is going to increase every day. I don't know everything about crypto although it's been 7 years (however, I did not study its technical side) and most users out here don't know everything either. Crypto is something new, so new stuff you can learn comes up on a daily basis. Smiley

Opportunities are huge, so are the risks.
2514  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need Beginner Suggestions on: April 24, 2020, 05:41:52 PM
Welcome to the forum. Do you know anything about Bitcoin? If not, check out this earlier reply of mine to someone who didn't either: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5241425.msg54247301#msg54247301

Now back to your OP, I highly suggest you not to put your trust in bounties as most of them today are, unfortunately, scams and a loss of time. If you find a project you like and think has potential, go for it. Support it. But make sure you do extensive research: find out about its team (if it even exists), whether the coin is a copycat or not (which turns it into a shitcoin in an instant) etc. Sometimes, the research can be as simple as going for a web search of "X scam" - where X is the name of the project.

Secondly, don't look at BitcoinTalk as a source of income. It's not, and if you treat it as one, chances of getting in any good bounty decreases together with the chance of getting in any signature campaign over here. If you're interested in cryptocurrencies, listen here: learn, learn, learn. If you don't like the forum and are only here to make money, without willing to offend you I'll say you can already leave - it's not going to work. Or if it will, one day you'll get busted.

You may think getting merits is extremely heavy. As a beginner, it is. However, it doesn't take long until you'll have enough knowledge to have a strong point in a reply or to help someone out and you'll be rewarded for it.

As soon as you're having fun here, it's going to be a sweet journey.

Good luck! Smiley

I'm surprised by the number of members thinking this is the best opportunity for a project to launch. Don't you think people need money nowadays for things other than a crypto project? I'm just saying - from a business point of view, asking people to come & invest in your project seems a crappy idea during the middle of a damn pandemic and economical crisis.

So no, imo it's the worst time to launch a project right now.
2516  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The growth of cryptocurrency on: April 24, 2020, 03:33:11 PM
1. How does cryptocurrency help you in your daily lives?
To be honest, without cryptocurrencies' existence I wouldn't have done today what I'm doing, which is slowly going off the grid. Unless you become interested in cryptocurrencies, breaking free from the chain of surveillance, economical slavery and all a normal being is going through, you wouldn't be able to realize how linked you've always been to the system. Bitcoin and blockchain made this issue pop up in my brain and so I'm trying now to take care of it.

2. How long have you been into cryptocurrency and how does it changed your life since then?
7 years now, and my life has been changed positively according to the statement above.

3. How did you know cryptocurrency?
2013, when Bitcoin was making waves. It was through news and my beginning was desperately trying to mine Bitcoin through Minecraft servers. Had no premium account at the time though, so I couldn't join any server to do so. Therefore, I started from faucets and very small earnings through tasks and videos. Paved my way up from there. Hah. It's a pretty common misconception to be honest. People mostly think:

wallet you access online through the web = online wallet = custodial wallet

Regardless if it's non-custodial, I still wouldn't use it though. There's something about using non-open source software that makes me paranoid.
That's right - I guess a better idea is "use FOSS wallets". I've been increasingly paranoid over the last few months about closed-source softwares too, and I guess this is just the beginning for me. Cheesy

I'm sorry to hear about your wife's chronic disease and that you had to lose so much freakin' time for a payment. Yes, wire transfers are crap with an unnecessary commission that shouldn't exist, considering how much important time they steal.

I usually do the comparison between Bitcoin and PayPal (or card payments) like mk4 said, and I always miss the fact that bank wire is an option and takes hell of a time to complete. You know what's amazing? How the banking system is centralized, which should've meant the transfers have to be all instant and easier to do than Bitcoin's - centralized ones are supposed to be created in order to attract users, right? But the situation apparently is exactly the opposite.
2519  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ethereum 2.0 Ready For the Bull Run? on: April 24, 2020, 01:30:45 PM
I don't know man, I've always thought about Ethereum as a non-realistic bullish coin due to its uncapped supply. Be it 2020, 2050 or 2100, Ethereum will still continue to expand its supply which means its price can't go upwards forever.. right? Its bullish runs turn into semi-ponzi style movements: supply goes up, price goes up, there's no reward halving etc.. what does this lead to? Because in my eyes it leads to a day when the price and supply parallel upwards movement will have to stop, leading to a very harsh bear run.

It could be just me, but the uncapped supply makes things seem this way..
2520  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reasons I prefer non-custodian wallets on: April 24, 2020, 01:11:29 PM
Good job on writing this post! I have only a few things I'd like to mention:

If a custodian wallet is as easy to be recovered as entering your e-mail and verifying some links/codes, then all a hacker needs is access to your e-mail. Which is very, very bad security! And even if you have the private key or mnemonic seed of your custodian wallet, it's completely useless if it's custodian or server-sided. You aren't the only one who owns the keys/seeds.

Secondly, I have to correct you about the anonymity: Bitcoin and other strong cryptocurrencies were not crested to be completely anonymous! Having a fully transparent cryptocurrency makes, in fact, your privacy shrink. The real anonymous cryptocurrencies are, for example, coins like Monero. Another option is to use Wasabi wallet, but only if you take proper care of all aspects about privacy & anonymity. A little mistake, however, could lead to the leakage of crucial information needed to identify you. Smiley

Now about the ease of use, there are a few fully non-custodian wallet that makes everything much easier to use. I honestly can't think of a simple wallet specifically for BTC, but Ripple had its Bread Wallet which required close to no knowledge to use. AFAIK, they also have a Bitcoin wallet.

All in all, it's a nice post for beginners but I wanted to make sure you don't get these things wrong. I'd advise you to change it a bit so that newbies don't get these things wrong too.
