i get the whole scam thing with non-reversible currency. but the way some of you people with higher post counts treat the new guys is really appalling.

low post count = scammer

high post count = idiot

Im a 3 day old new user to this board, and although i havnt been on the wrong end of a response (im sure i will now!) yet, 'appalling' is exactly the word i would use from reading some of the threads. 'Arrogance' is another, while 'delusions of grandeur' seem to be being played out here.
I think this phrase sums up my current thoughts.... 'familiarity breeds contempt'

Whats going on guys n girls?

Currently +50% mark up, and £3 postage for a £20 note. Love the audacity.

An experienced trader who knows how price usually moves would just put his bid at $30 and wait.

Yes, the guy who put the huge bid in at $30 probably knows his stuff so I just copied him and put my own in at around 31.

Stay as close to the Smart money as possible. Its the biggest clue you will ever get.
2506  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think the rally is over now... or very soon? on: March 15, 2013, 07:57:07 PM
I've said it before and I will say it again.

If the price is to rise, who the fuck is buying?

I do believe bitcoin can rise $1k+ but that will NEVER happen when buyers are dependant on exchanges like mtgox.

The explosion begins once aunt jane can buy it with her credit card and bitcoin addresses are as simple as jane@coinbank.btc

You are so bang on the money with that last sentence.

stereotype, you was supposed to post your address Smiley
As you are technically a claimant - I have just one more package for you.

As pathetic as it sounds, i misread and therefore misunderstood the post. I respectfully wish to pass this on to the next person. Cheers

Yes another newbie. Im interested in trading bitcoins, and this is where i go.... http://bitcoin.clarkmoody.com/

How do you all get on with understanding Bitcoin? The philosophy and concept i get, but there seems a huge learning curve in understanding the technology, the terminology, the security, etc etc. The more you dig, the more questions get raised. Dont get me wrong, it can be fascinating, but how have you found the info gathering process? Has it been a slog? Have you had to come back to it a few times. Or is this geeks paradise?

Hello

A market order would try to buy the next available price. This is generally fine for liquid/highly traded markets, but not when theres volatility.

A limit order is a price stated by you/what you want to trade at, plus any slippage at a given time.

You sound like you just want to get in the market at a 'fair' price. In which case, you maybe should enter a price just below the current ask price.

This is a new market to me, and i have not traded yet (but i will), im just relaying what i know about other trading instruments....and my comments are most definitely not advice!!

Good luck
