2521  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor CoinJoin Testing on: April 14, 2023, 06:01:20 PM
I just saw their Twitter announcement about the upcoming coinjoin implementation and wanted to share it here, but the news is already out.
I took a look at the comments to see what the general mood among the users are. One guy called Chris Blec asked them straight if Chainalysis will have their say in the coinjoin process, but Trezor didn't feel like replying. Another funny comment says that Chainalysis is coming on 19 April to Trezor.
2522  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Recommendations to store my seed phrase!! on: April 14, 2023, 05:17:32 PM
I'm considering writing it down on a piece of paper and storing it in a safe or safety deposit box
If you already have a safe, sure, why not. Put one copy of it in your safe. If possible, you should make at least two or three copies and store them in separate locations. Maybe you have parents living in some other city or a brother/sister. A copy should only be with someone you absolutely trust. If you don't have someone like that, I would suggest storing 2-3 copies in different places of your home. Alternatively, extend the seed with a passphrase, so that even if someone would try to steal your coins (the people who have a copy of your seed), they wouldn't be able to without the seed extension.

but I've also heard about other methods like engraving it on metal or storing it on a USB drive.
Don't store anything on USB, CDs/DVD/, email, clouds, or any similar online or digital medium. Physical offline copies only.

What do you recommend as the most secure way to store my seed phrase? Are there any tips or best practices I should know about to ensure it stays safe and doesn't get lost or stolen?
Paper is OK and good enough. Metal storage is even better. Some people use washers. Use your imagination and hide the paper/steel plate somewhere the thief won't look or know that something might be hiding there.

But recently, just a few days ago, when I faced the need to restore my ledger wallet, I was horrified to find that I didn't remember the location where my password was hidden. I had the SEED in my hands, but no password.

I found myself on the brink of despair. Nothing was left but to try to restore the password from my memory. Luckily, after several frantic attempts, my efforts succeeded.
If you were able to remember the passphrase, maybe it's not secure enough. You can't change it now, but it's something worth to think about in the future.
2523  Economy / Gambling / Re: List Of Crypto Casinos with The Best Faucets on: April 14, 2023, 04:41:03 PM
@Pmalek, You had removed Simpledice from the list as their faucet wasn't working at that time. Now they have added the 'Magic Wheel' on their site, which is similar to the BitKong and Luckydice 'Magic Wheel'. However, you won't be able to use the Magic Wheel reward to test the game as it remains locked. Would you like to still consider it as a real faucet?
From what I can see on the wheel, some rewards are locked while others are unlocked. When you spin it, you will mostly get the 0.10 locked coin reward, but there is a theoretical chance to win other prizes. I will add it because the same type of wheel is present on BitKing and Luckydice like you said.

Weeddaddy team has just announced that they will suspend the services of the casino soon (see here). They couldn't last for a long time in this table.
Their announcement says it will be a temporary suspension, but they don't know for how long. Since they will halt deposits on 14 April and have announced it well in advance, I am going to leave them in the table for the time being. Maybe they will come back. All players should check their accounts and not deposit blindly anyways.

Thanks for the updates!
2524  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Coinomi wallet hacked, all funds stolen on: April 13, 2023, 06:05:45 PM
You are correct, but to properly set up an arigapped wallet in a completely safe enviroment is hard for newbies to do, and they can easily mess up and lose their funds, hardware wallets are easier for them to use correctly.
In truth, It's not something that newbies should do. Airgapped systems are for the more advanced userbase. Beginners will be safe enough if they move their coins from centralized exchanges (or don't use them to begin with), are careful what they click/download/give permissions to, and use a hardware wallet from a top manufacturer. They can slowly improve their knowledge with time and if they want to.

I have even seen someone suggesting using an airgapped computer that is only connected to the internet once in a while Roll Eyes, once connected to the internet it really isn't airgapped anymore...
That's like saying I am a virgin because I only have sex once a week. I am a 100% virgin during the other days, though.

- usd will never be added and Us IP are banned (regulations).
- russian ruble due to sanctions and regulation.
- the chinese yuan is of no interest to us, since we are focused on europe.
Too bad that there are so many restrictions and that you are solely focused on the EU and nothing else. I also find it regretful that a huge nation like Russia is blacklisted. Bitcoin is a currency of everyone or no one, but that's your decision.

As for Google Play, I found the app, so I don't know why some users have problems finding it.
I tried searching for it manually and couldn't find it on my PC. I didn't try over the phone. "PeachBitcoin", "Peach Bitcoin", or simply "Peach" doesn't show me any good results. Can you post the link to the app so I can check?
2526  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: metal wallet and metal detectors on: April 13, 2023, 01:26:23 PM
What should I put as title please?
For example, you could write metal seed storage plates because they are supposed to be the main focus of attention. And then you can mention in the OP the same phrase or change it a bit to metal plates for recovery phrases, etc.
2527  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: My first contest : win a hardware wallet, a steelwallet and satoshis ! on: April 13, 2023, 01:19:00 PM
Interesting contest.
Let me try my luck with 29.736 CHF.
2528  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: PeachBitcoin.com | P2P Bitcoin Exchange 🍑 #kycfree on: April 13, 2023, 01:14:33 PM
They only support these currencies as they mentioned on their website- https://peachbitcoin.com/how-it-works/#:~:text=Supported%20Currencies
EUR
GBP
CHF
SEK
DKK
NOK
PLN
Interesting. Those are all European fiat currencies. The pound, Swiss franc, Swedish/Danish/Norwegian Krona, and the Polish zloty.
Still, we are missing the Czech koruna, the Bulgarian lev, and the Russian ruble. Not to mention the USD and other non-EU currencies. I wonder if the service is even available in the US, Canada, China, Australia, etc.?
2529  Other / Archival / Re: WasabiWallet.io | Open-source, non-custodial Bitcoin Wallet for desktop on: April 13, 2023, 12:56:12 PM
You calling Wasabi "mass surveillance software" is a malicious lie and everyone can verify that you are lying themselves since all of the code is open source
Of course it's not a mass surveillance software. It's just a "privacy" service that has willingly partnered with an unnamed mass surveillance blockchain analysis company to determine who deserves privacy and who doesn't. What more could you wish for than that? I think you should ask your buddies to consider any coins of o_e_l_e_o as unfitting. You do know he is a public supporter of Stalin, right? His Bitcoin reeks of Stalin propaganda and must be censored. For the greater good, obviously. After all, you are all about fungibility and censorship resistance.
2530  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: PeachBitcoin.com | P2P Bitcoin Exchange 🍑 #kycfree on: April 13, 2023, 12:34:27 PM
Forget about the Play Store. You can just download the app from the official website if you want to use it.
https://peachbitcoin.com/apk/

@Peach Bitcoin
I assume you are no longer in a beta stage? The first time I heard about the service, it was still being tested and not yet ready for massive adoption.
Can you give us some more stats about how things are going so far?

LeGaulois already mentioned 8.000 downloads and over 5.500 completed trades.
What about countries, currencies? Are there any geographical restrictions, and how many fiat currencies are supported?
2531  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: metal wallet and metal detectors on: April 12, 2023, 07:03:13 PM
As for the metalwallets, look at Jameson Lopp's tests and you'll know what it means  Wink
https://blog.lopp.net/metal-bitcoin-seed-storage-stress-tests-round-v/
Those are not "metal wallets" as you called them. Those are metal seed plates used for storing recovery phrases. Two very different things. You should consider editing the subject because most people got the wrong idea. I was also under the impression you were talking about the actual hardware wallet devices made of metal. That's why I mentioned Ledger with its metal cover as an example and couldn't think of any other similar product.
2532  Other / Archival / Re: WasabiWallet.io | Open-source, non-custodial Bitcoin Wallet for desktop on: April 12, 2023, 06:52:56 PM
Where do you draw the line?  Would you allow Joseph Stalin to coinjoin his Bitcoin to disguise the shares of loot paid out to his underling politicians, cops, and soldiers?  Or would you perform the necessary step to hide these monsters in the shadows to allow them to blend in with their victims?
The protocol doesn't care and is not supposed to care who uses the coins, why, and when. That's the beauty of Bitcoin that you and your buddies are voluntarily limiting. Bitcoin works without the intervention from corrupt agencies who would like to control it and decide what is acceptable and what not according to their agendas. Anyone that works with them and helps in that control, stands on the wrong side.

Have you considered that the honest users in the coinjoin transaction you coordinate don't want Stalin, SBF, or Chainanalysis to participate either?  What if honest users refuse to sign any coinjoin round containing Stalin's coins, will you ban the honest users from participating in order to ensure Stalin gets to hide his loot from slaughter and slavery?
They aren't supposed to know about each other and any other coinjoin participant. If Mark, Bob, Sara, and Tom don't want to participate in the same coinjoin because they know Stalin is there, or your analysis partners found or told them he is there, something is seriously wrong with your approach.
2533  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Best Exchanges without KYC? on: April 12, 2023, 03:36:28 PM
If for some reason someone wants to use changenow, I suggest using PNNV.com exchange instead.
It's sort of a proxy service for changenow? but has a no-kyc policy according from the owner.
Interesting. I had no idea that agentF was also running an instant exchange in some type of partnership with ChangeNOW. I will bookmark the site just for reference.

I took a quick look at the rates. At times they are slightly better compared to what ChangeNOW offers on their official website. Other times, they are exactly the same. I haven't done much research so I can't say if it depends on the amounts you wish to exchange or on the assets involved in the swap.
2534  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: rollbit scam (255 USDT) on: April 12, 2023, 03:10:57 PM
I have sent a PM to Rollbit Razer and asked him directly which mediation sites unsatisfied players can turn to when it's a matter of sport betting-related problems.
If he replies with some useful information, I will post the information here.

I share holydarkness' thoughts and believe they said what they wanted to say.
2535  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Best Exchanges without KYC? on: April 11, 2023, 04:08:12 PM
We have that new instant exchange called Better Call Raul. They are currently running a signature campaign through Royse777. They support instant and KYC-free swaps between bitcoin, ethereum, and monero.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5446315.0

ChangeNOW: This is a non-custodial exchange that enables users to exchange cryptocurrencies without KYC verification. The trading fee is 0.4%.
ChangeNOW is not a non-custodial exchange. They like to call themselves non-custodial or "free of custody" as it says on their website, but it's not true. You deposit your coins into an address they control, not you. It's true that they don't request KYC, but that's not the case with their partner services. They might request that you identify yourself, and your crypto will be frozen until you do.

I think Changelly works in a similar way, but I have never tried it.
2536  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Hardware Wallets April 1st Special Devices on: April 11, 2023, 01:06:32 PM
In all seriousness, I think people with large amounts of crypto should be carrying around one of these.
An axe to the shoulder blade or spine tends to be quite effective as well. Smiley

For extra safety, also keep a pistol lying around the house in a secure location. Smiley
If you have a gun, it should go everywhere you go. More precisely, everywhere you sleep. It's not much of a use if you have to walk past the thief on your way from your bedroom to your living room to get to your gun. Or the stories you hear about people taking it apart and keeping different parts in separate rooms of the house. Wait a little Mr. robber. I just need to get my stuff and I will be right with you.
2537  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New virus & malware automatically empties crypto exchange accounts on: April 11, 2023, 11:12:55 AM
This is the reason why you should refrain yourself for visiting sites where you get infected with malware, and force you to install software, why i said force, it is because they are now in control of your computer, so to be safe, never ever visit these porn sites Free downloads of movies free software's, this is where they inject their malware.
Despite the warnings, many people do exactly that. Some of it is justified, others aren't. Torrenting and downloading torrents is popular and will always be popular. But at least pay attention where you get your torrents from, who the uploaders are, and what devices you watch those movies on. The same rules apply to porn or cracked software. Don't engage in these hobbies on the same device you use for your financials. Keep your money separated from everything else. Have a second device for work (if you need it) and a 3rd one for risky ventures like the ones you mentioned.

Thus, if you mess up and get your risky laptop infected, nothing bad can happen to laptops #2, #3, etc.
2538  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: (announced) WATERPROOF CRYPTO WALLET CASE for Ledger Nano and Trezor Hardware St on: April 11, 2023, 10:58:41 AM
It is not necessary to make it resistant to shocks because you shouldn't be leaving your HW outside on the ground for a lightning strike in the first place.
Shockproof resistant means that the item inside doesn't suffer damages if you drop it by accident from a distance. It's got nothing to do with lightning strikes. Perhaps you carry the case in your hands, trip, and drop it to the ground. Or it falls down from a shelf, etc. A good safe should have sufficient padding inside, so if something like that happens, the HW doesn't break.

2540  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: (announced) WATERPROOF CRYPTO WALLET CASE for Ledger Nano and Trezor Hardware St on: April 10, 2023, 04:05:12 PM
Maybe I am wrong, but it doesn't give me the impression of a secure case capable of surviving the most extreme stress tests. And if I am going to buy a case or safe, I want it to do exactly that. Otherwise, why bother with something halfway good? I would love to watch a stress test video to see how it copes with fires, acid, being dropped from high up, etc.
