2521  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Microsoft is allowing itself to detect pirated games on your Windows 10 PC on: September 21, 2015, 08:20:58 PM
Just stumbled upon this article published today. I know a lot of you guys play computer games so I thought I'd make this heads-up post.  I don't have any pirated games on my Win 10 PC but I have on a few occasions in the past tried cracked PC games (I'm mostly a console gamer (non-pirated) ) . It is not clear whether Microsoft intends to forward the data it collects to the authorities.

http://www.foxnews.com/tech/2015/08/17/microsoft-is-allowing-itself-to-detect-pirated-games-on-your-windows-10-pc/

It seems that every new release has its own "trojans". Even the new updates for Windows7 are said to contain software that steals personal user data... I guess the solution will be "upgrading" to Linux Tongue

Nothing comes without great effort. I don't believe there is a method to become rich, but I do believe the self-made man concept....

Digital Currency Related Courses are Going Mainstream

Bitcoin and digital currencies are going mainstream. The US already considers Bitcoin as a commodity; Banks are starting to accept and use cryptocurrencies...

Just tried to visit and the site is down! I was looking to take a look to see if it was worth it. Is the game still being developed or what?
2525  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: allcryptotalk Crypto forum thats been around over a year. on: September 21, 2015, 06:01:58 PM
Very good forum. I'm a member for quite some time now!
It's is one cryptocurrency related forum that I consider to be a good alternative to Bitcointalk.
2526  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Is a 2Gh/s ASIC good? on: September 21, 2015, 05:58:24 PM
As the title says, is buying a 2Gh/s ASIC USB Miner a good deal?

2Ghs won't give returns. if you want to start mining you will need to invest a large amount of money. At this point it is too much of a risk to invest in mining.
2527  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Video: Solar-powered Bitcoin Mining farm on: September 21, 2015, 02:01:46 PM
Using solar Power to mine is the best options to cut expenses with mining. However, it will only be favorable if you already have the installation made and it can produce a good amount of power. otherwise, you wont be able to connect many miners.

2529  Other / Off-topic / Re: How many Bitcoins are lost forever? on: September 21, 2015, 01:45:26 PM
I know it is a tricky question. What do you think, how many Bitcoins are lost forever and are 'out of the network' by lost private keys?

That's a good question! I guess that is very difficult to know at this point. I think that we will only be able to find how many BTC are lost after they are all mined. Or we can probably research the blockchain and find a pattern that could lead us to see how many BTC could be outside of the network.
2530  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you trust the miners? on: September 21, 2015, 01:42:16 PM
Hey all. Recent developments around the block size debate have sparked alot of discussion about several topics. I've seen many people arguing that BIP100 gives too much power to the miners. I'm not trying to provoke feelings one way or another, I'm just looking to see if people are willing to put their trust on miners about such decisions.
Why wouldn't you trust the miners? they are the ones who secure the network and maintain decentralization. There is an incentive to every and each miner to avoid the 51% attack.
2531  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BREAKING: Atlanta based Bitcoin giant BitPay hacked for nearly $2,000,000! on: September 21, 2015, 01:38:57 PM
poor email security management led to the hack. Companies need to apply security policies to every communication channel utilized. The internet is a harsh place and companies need to keep their security one step beyond at al time.
2532  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you want human body parts and organs to be bought & sold with Bitcoin? on: September 21, 2015, 01:14:07 AM
If you can buy them with Fiat why not buy them with Bitcoin as well? as long as it is all properly regulated I don't see the problem why it cannot!
2533  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks' own Blockchain? on: September 21, 2015, 01:12:34 AM
http://recode.net/2015/09/15/nine-of-the-worlds-biggest-banks-form-blockchain-partnership/

From what I read they are considering Bitcoin but also Ethereum.

Thoughts on all of this?

From my brief read on Ethereum it is a public blockchain, you can mine it etc just like Bitcoin.

Proof of work could possibly lead to more decentralisation (ASIC and FPGA not possible/feasible?)

Proof of work only leads to decentralization if you have a large distribution of the network. as more participants the network has the more the network becomes decentralized...
2534  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An argument for why Bitcoin may become mainstream. on: September 21, 2015, 01:10:22 AM
You know Bitcoin is becoming mainstream when you start to see Banks investing and begining to show a big interest in the digital currency.
2535  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Realistically does bitcoin have any competition ? on: September 21, 2015, 01:09:08 AM
There is not much competition, but many new cryptos already have introduced far more advanced features than bitcoin. Bitcoin, being the first of many still has the advantage because it has the biggest network supporting it! That's what gives its true value.
2536  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could the lightning network solve the block size problem? on: September 21, 2015, 01:06:51 AM
I watched the presentation on the lightning network and if it allows regular payments along with the option for this side enhancement then it could help a lot with the block size problem.

The lightning network basically allows people to set up payment nodes to run transactions which can be as many transactions as you want in a certain amount of time without touching the blockchain. At the end of the time period the final balance of the transaction is posted to the blockchain. The people running the nodes have no way to interfere with the transactions and it allows for more anonymity.

I am cautiously optimistic about it.

I guess that the bitcoin lightning network is one of the best proposal's that can really solve the block size issue. apart from the Bitcoin Lightning network you have the Sidechains project and the colored coins.
2537  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I've been scammed 5.5BTC. What will you do when your Bitcoin get scammed? on: September 21, 2015, 01:05:00 AM
Hello buddies,

It would be sad story if our bitcoin get scammed.  Cry

But it does happen from time to times, as we are all human beings, we are kind of greedy, we all want more bitcoins, and we all want the bitcoin in our wallet growing and growing ...

Then, we may get scammed by some online games, get scammed by gambling, get scammed by some investment programs, get scammed by ponzi schemes...etc., we send them our bitcoin base on their promising promises, but after the payment we'll never get their delivery as return ...  and we may even get scammed by our best friends as well ...

I've been scammed by a ponzi program called Rockwell Partner, I was scammed 5.5 BTC there.
I could do nothing expect shouting everywhere it was a scammer.

What did you do to fight against the scammers when your bitcoin was scammed?

Actually, when you are hacked you can't really do much about it. You can only learn from your mistakes so it won't happen again!
2538  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Operation Caelus; We will Send a Bitcoin node to space. (Join Us!) on: September 20, 2015, 08:47:47 PM
I think this is a great idea.

About The launch:(I'm probably wrong and this is a bad idea) Couldn't we send it to space in a helium balloon??? That would be far less expensive.

it would be necessary to develop some kind of trust for the satellite in order to maintain it in a constant orbit once the balloon got to low orbit.
2539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Expanse (EXP) - Fair Launch, No ICO, Community DAO, based on Ethereum on: September 20, 2015, 08:04:39 PM
I have my GPUs installed on a 32 windows system. Is there a possibility of mining expanse in a 32 system? I've heard you need at least 1gb per GPU is that right?
2540  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Drugs with Bitcoin ? on: September 20, 2015, 07:29:29 PM
Anyone bought drugs with bitcoin and what are you thought on the subject ?

i know i have used bitcoin to buy psilocybe cubensis thank you bitcoin i cold have not done this without you now i can trip watching corry & eastenders in the evening its such a sight.

The truth is, seeing bitcoin associated with drugs only gives a bad name to digital currencies. I have already bought some tobacco with BTC but never bought drugs and don't have any plans to.
