I still blame downward BTC price pressures in part on the FUD being a tool of manipulation in an atmosphere where BTC is easy to put on the exchanges to force selling and then buying taking place off of the exchanges with the deflated prices.... rinse and repeat...  whales purposefully lose money on exchanges in order to be able to buy cheaper outside of exchanges.

Do you have any data to prove this assumption or are you just pulling it out of your ass?
Do you also assume that lizards have control over the government?

Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

(no offense)

I'm describing my operative theory of an ongoing dynamic.....  which is NOT merely spouting out some random thoughts or disinformation.. as some others may do....

I cannot prove who the various whales are that are pushing BTC prices downward... and that is part of the advantage of whales being able to do such without disclosure.. if they so desire... .

I know that there are very big incentives for whales to push BTC prices downward, prices come from exchanges... and also there has been considerable movement of money and BTC off of exchanges after GOX and after SR2. ... which makes it easier to push down prices with less capital.

MY thinking about whale dynamics until I am persuaded otherwise...   Do you have a better theory that makes any sense in real world thinking?  I realize that I am maybe giving you too much of an opening by both acknowledging your response to me and by going further and asking you a question.  Maybe there is an outside chance that you will surprise me with some meaningful response?

My therory is that the price got artificially pumped by Gox and co and that even big investors felt for this scam. Just because some big investments have been made by rich people doesnīt mean that they are smart nor that they have  any kownledge about the future price of Bitcoin. If all the Bitcoin data(bid depth/trading data...) would have been real i would consider your assumptions as quite possible. I just donīt think that this is happening right now, altough itīs a method that would work wout. Or do you think that Fortress Investment Fond who bought big off exchange at an avg. price of 900$ have acted ultimately clever.
There is almost no data available how many Bitcoin have been bought off-exchange and for what price.
So what you did is speculation in itīs purest form. Itīs not more probable than for example "The  FBI wantīs to destroy Bitcoin because they are scared" "It was invented by the NWO" or any other conspiracy theory that cannot be proven.

Right now a single early adopter could easily drive down the price to near zero(for a while).
Bitcoin with all itīs non regulations makes it oneof the most fucked up markets in the world aka manipulation to the max, more likely in the upwards direction.

Is there a way to ingore/hide quoted users, who are on my ignore list or do i have to ignore them all?

There are so many people on the ignorechain in this thread, I see about one post per page.  Only Adam gets a pass, cause he's the OP.  (And chartbuddy - he adds contextual markers.)

Fonzie and Jorge are the Adam and Eve of the ignorechain.  Anybody who quotes them (or quotes their quoters) is eating from the forbidden fruit.

Ignoring people, lol. I assume people who ignore more than 3 users also barely leave the house or read newspapers.
Bitcoiners truly are a open-minded species.
My ignore list goes hand in hand with my BTC holdings - ZERO
I assume itīs the other way round for some here. :-D

Everyone is followin huobi, 50 BTC get bought over there, he lures people in to buy into his 500-600BTC sell order, makes sense?
Happened with Gox before.(Pump on Gox - sell on Stamp)

pump and dump... I know what it is. It only works in stagnant markets.

If you are trying to tell me that China is a stagnant market then you better cover your shorts quick

Itīs not a real pump and dump, i donīt trust any of the data from Huobi.
With Gox it turned out that most of the trades never actually happened, and most of the data was fake as fuck.
Huobi could work the same way. If chinese coins would have to be slowly sold on western exchanges for a "fair" price, this tactic would work out.
Iīm just speculatin of course.
One of my earliest posts in here has been about this special Gox tactics, (i got bashed of course), but it turned out to be true.

Huobi mini pumper = same guy whoīs tryin to sell 500-600BTC at the same time on Stamp?

one does not sell by buying.

Happened before under similiar conditions with 1000 walls. We mostly saw a harsh  end of the bull trap
a few hours after the "breakthrough".
2530  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 03, 2014, 10:55:09 PM

stop loss for my shorts is actually @ 519

Thats not what I'd call long term shorting. 519 will be too easy to break.

If 519$ should be broken, what i highly doubt, then i donīt want to be trapped in a red position.
iīd rather have a bag of money around to open new, higher, shorts(or longs, if a mysterious trend reversal should appear Wink )
2531  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 03, 2014, 10:48:27 PM

I have my shorts scattered from 426 - 406 at $2 intervals.  If figured the market would peck away from $425-$400 and swing back up a few times. So It closed out 5 of my 10 positions last night. Before I went to bed, I then open 3 more shorts at each of the 3 Fib retracement levels. I would up, two were hit, one missed by a $1.

So its rinse and repeat for me until we get to 405ish - where I expect we will have a final battle. I'll decide where to go from there.

Thatīs a good strategy, i did similar between the 720-550$ ping pong time , but i donīt have the time and energy to watch the market that close right now. And i think a drop to 250$ could happen anytime now, so i wanīt to be all in with shorts when the time comes.

can we ban fonzie yet? I know most have him on ignore and I do too, but he is LITERALLY in every single thread today spouting nonsense. I know he posts normally now and then, but today is ridiculous and everyone keeps quoting him. he must be short and trying to get the market to crash any way he can.

Just burn the books, kill the commies. Letīs get rid of all these annoying problems.
2534  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 03, 2014, 10:25:43 PM
On stamp there are 115.98btc order all down the order book. In intervalls of 5$, so 69. I think this is one guy and he is biding for around 8000btc. Can somebody explain this to me.Why does he use always the same amount. So that people know that it is from one guy?

Easier to do it by making all the USD sums the same or all the BTC sums the same.

He (or, possibly someone else with that same amount- no guarantee) has a 115.98btc ask as well, so they are probably just trying to flip for a quick profit.

One alternative theory...   as Bobby Lee suggested in a discussion at Coinsummit, it is a 'possible way' the exchange can make the order book look fatter than it is, and these coins all disappear as the price nears them.

He was suggesting this is how dodgy exchanges boosted the books (and price).  It was in response to questions about 'fake volume' in China.  He said it was the reason you saw Litecoin drop to a dollar at one point recently.  A market sell order dropped in and all the 'fake' coin buys under the price disappeared as they were nearly hit, meaning an apparently 'freak' crash happened (there were far less coins to sell into than it appeared).

But of course, 'Western' exchanges would never do things like bolstering prices like that.

Interesting, especially the conjunction to the LTC drop. That makes a lot of sense now. Thanks

Only those peoples are going out who are either
in need of fiat
invested too much
bought coins at 500+
are altcoin bag holders
etc etc..

That would be at least 60-70% of all individuals.

We might have reached the bottom after we see no more attempts of people trying to jump in every bull trap.
They bull traps have been getting smaller in the last weeks, thatīs a little bullish.
But we probably have to go down a few hundred dollars more until we see no more of them.
