However, Ethereum shouldn’t be compared to Bitcoin in the first place as it offers something Bitcoin doesn’t, which is a flexible and functional ecosystem for decentralized applications. Ethereum is providing an infrastructure for new markets such as the ICO market.
It is important for users, traders and investors to consider tradeoffs between security and flexibility. Bitcoin was designed from the start to operate as a store of value, settlement system and digital cash system. For a store of value, security always has to be the priority.Source: https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-only-needs-to-survive-security-is-priority-prominent-vc-investor Rootstock offers a much better smart contract solution than ETH.

RSK offers a much better smart contract solution than Vitaliks version and they will eat a lot of market share from ETH.
ETH will never be number 1, nothing can compete with Bitcoins Blockchain.

I think that's highly unrealistic. As great as Bitcoin is, it still has its flaws. New technologies will come and go that are built on the Bitcoin framework that will eventually succeed Bitcoin. Unless the price magically jumps to $1m/BTC in the next few years this is never going to happen.
Which ''flaws'' you mean scaling? Scaling is NOT a technical flaw, it's a luxury problem and that will be solved. I laughed when you said that new tech will come and go, you must be to young to understand how important new tech is. Anyway, when Bitcoin reaches only 10% of m2..yes, i think 1m per pop will be achieved in a time span of atleast 20 years.

Luke-Jr has lost his mind: While I don't agree with everything they do/have done, or their approaches, I don't consider Ethereum to be a scam.
Anything claiming to be a "decentralized currency" and then holds an IPO is obviously a scam. You can't have an IPO for something claiming to be decentralized because nobody controls the money supply of something "decentralized" by default. It's literally a 1:1 replica of the movie Wolf of Wall Street and nothing more, or the central banker model who issues currency out of thin air for their own benefit. I agree, just wait untill RSK is ready, Rootstock offers a much better smart contract solution than ETH.

No, Segwit+schnorr+LN+RSK+Mimblewimble+TumbleBit will transform Bitcoin into NotBitcoin. You dont know what they stand for and how to make Bitcoin mainstream. Conjoining all this bullshit into one argument waters down the validity of any position you might attempt to maintian.
You cannot troll me with youre cheap mind-game, you aint that smart enough. PS - In case anyone missed it before: LN can happen without segwit.
PS - In case you missed it; It looks great on paper but in reality it only works on Segwitt the other solution like BU is bugged.

There is no such thing as a slow steady rise to $100k+, bubbles are inevitable it's part of the FOMO process.
|
|
|
But I also don't want LN as the only second layer as some Core Maximalists like it. Bullshit, where did you get that anti-Core FUD r/btc? Segwit+schnorr+LN+RSK+Mimblewimble+TumbleBit will transform Bitcoin into a beast. Innovation will florish, each sidechain with there own specialization and there will be a lot of sidechains. Always remember; Bitcoin cannot go mainstream without sidechains and those sidechains are beeing designed around Segwit for obvious reassons.

Is there anyone surprised? Core is doing everything they can to stall blocksize increase.
And you believe Jihan is not stalling blocksize? He already dropped BU and those r/btc people all felt for his crap that Segwit is cancer, bad etc. And now he's working on a different version of Segwit..lol Jihan's business model is focused on milking out those high fee's as much as possible.
|
|
|
I called it! Simon Dixon said "If Segwit was not pitched as a scaling solution, we would have had it ages ago." The question now is why did Core pitch it as a scaling solution? in the same sentance he repeats twice "we NEED segwit" 1. spammers wont use segwit keypairs so.. spammers always gonna spam 2. segwit does not disarm legacy transactions it just disarms volunteers who were innocent of spamming from spamming when they opt to use new keypairs 3. LN doesnt NEED segwit. 4. it suppose to remove the malle issue to remove the tx bait/switch double spend. but core introduced RBF and CPFP which brings back the tx bait/switch double spend issue so be honest those screaming "we need segwit". explain why.. lol.. explain the real fixes that are guaranteed by having segwit Still spamming for ''key-pairs'' FuD...i told you there is nothing wrong with it.

Segwit is the best possible update Bitcoin can have, followed later by a hf. After that sidechains, that will make Bitcoin mainstream.

Rootstock opened there testnet yesterday, ETH will be replaced by RSK in time. All alt-coins will be replaced by sidechains.
Boom.gif I look forward to using Rootstock on Bitcoin. The caveat being that their initial implementation will be slightly centralized due to a token being required and it will rely on several trusted actors to convert back and forth to bitcoins. This will change once Bitcoin gets upgraded with the code necessary to implement it in a decentralized way. I cant wait untill there Jaxx wallet arrives, i also consider buying some. Investing in sidechains can be very lucrative. RSK needs Segwitt to make it more decentralised but there is one problem...like always when i think about Bitcoins innovation and all those other cool sidechains...It's are all beeing blocked by JIHAN WU Problem solved with UASF!

I'm gonna hold atleast 21 coins, i dont want to miss this golden opportunity.
