2521  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Follows Ethereum? on: May 25, 2021, 01:05:33 AM
Do you think it's possible that the Bitcoin price will follow Ethereum price in the future? When Ethereum becomes proof of stake and becomes deflationary, can it happen?
Altcoins follow Bitcoin and Ethereum follows Bitcoin.

I fail to get what makes you think Bitcoin will follow Ethereum or any altcoins? If you have logic for any future that Ethereum will flip Bitcoin in the crypto market, you can wait for this future.

Ethereum is a big, biggest altcoin but I don't think it will be able to compete with Bitcoin, in any sense. They serve for different purposes and use cases. Bitcoin is for speculation, the less speculative cryptocurrency and as store of asset. Ethereum is a platform, backbone for companies (many are scam) to run on its chain (ERC20).

1. What would be the implications of governments banning trading on crypto exchanges?
They won't. If they want, they should do it long time ago, not now, not in the future.

Because blockchain technology has been developed impressively and has been integrated deeply to society. It is not as same as in 2017 or earlier.

Furthermore, governments will have more benefits from crypto exchanges. They will gain more tax from local crypto investors or traders. There are some nations that have strict tax policies as Japan or South Korea.

Quote
2. If all governments coordinated to ban crypto trading on exchanges, would Bitcoin survive? What is stopping governments from doing this?
People can make peer to peer trades. No problem.

Bitcoin transactions can not be cracked down, rejected by governments. They can not freeze your Bitcoin wallet or steal your private key.

Quote
3. If Bitcoin does not succeed as a global payment solution, how likely is it to still be a store of value?
Does physical gold bars actually become a successful global payment method? It is mainly used as a store of value.

Bitcoin has more advanced feature and more convenient than physical gold bars.
2523  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: May 24, 2021, 10:52:40 AM
A picture of Suarez sitting on the field after the game and crying during a cell phone conversation traveled the world.
We can only imagine how difficult it was for Suarez when Barcelona gave him up in such an ugly way last season.
How terrible Barcelona made a mistake can be seen now, when Suarez was Atletico's key player in winning this title.
It is one of worst periods in Suarez's career as he said and he shows how emotional he is (in the last press conference in Barcelona and after get the La Liga championship).

Just funny, do you guys think it is what Suarez saw on the phone screen when he was calling to his family?

Suarez so emotional

Quote
The Spanish league is probably the toughest in the world, with a lot of great clubs, and it’s very hard to play continuously at the same level and win every time.
Atletico definitely deserved this title and I'm especially glad for Suarez that they succeeded.
It will be very difficult for Atletico to repeat this venture next year, and Barcelona and Real will again be the main favorites for the title.
Atletico very deserve this title, I can not disagree but it looks as they only win La Liga titles in dramatic and emotional race till the last round of seasons they won.
2524  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: May 24, 2021, 03:59:40 AM
Yep. Previously, I also think that Liverpool cannot finish in the top 4 this season. They have a big problem in Defense line with many key players got injured. Luckily, towards the end of the season, the substitution of the defenders can play in a good performance. So, they can get many points and finish in the best position that they can. I assume, obtaining the 3rd position is the best achievement they can get this season. Cool!!
Leicester lost their ticket again in the final day of season. Sadly to see how they ended this season like this.

The Premier League have the same ending as Serie A. Big clubs have their tickets to Champions League. Chelsea have a bad day but they got a gift from Leicester City and Liverpool did their works well with an excellent match from Sadio Mane. That player has a bad season but in the last match, his double goals help The Kop have a happy ending.

Leicester had the chances of making it to the Champion League next season, but messed it up. I could remember when they were occupying the 3rd position on the table, but dropped down when they won only 1 out of their last 5 premier League matches, while they lost 3 and drew 1. Although they won the F.A cup, but ended the EPL outside the top 4.
Jamie Vardy will be older next season and I don't think Leicester City will be able to compete for top 4 in the next season. Maybe some clubs like Tottenham and Arsenal will come back and Leicester will have to play in Europa League again.
2525  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: May 24, 2021, 03:54:47 AM
Napolis, the match, had an easy game to win. But they were not able.
That was great for Juventus, because that was the only way he managed to go to the Champions League for the next season. If they hadn't made it to UCL, I had doubts that Ronaldo would stay, but as they did, he is able to stay.

Ronaldo did not play, besides the game is not difficult for Juventus, I believe he wants to reach Euro2020 in the best physical conditions, so he certainly tried to save himself and Juve accepted.
I am sorry for Napoli and Insigne but it is better for Serie A with Juventus and Ronaldo in Champions League. They can not win it but can go further than Napoli.

With the final result like this, will Ronaldo and Pirlo stay with their positions in Juventus? I hope they will and Pirlo can make better in his second season. The next one will have less impacts from pandemic and plans can be done better.

In this summer, the medical staffs of Juventus will have lots of thing to investigate and improve their works. I don't think they have done their works well in this season with many injuries.
2526  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bullrun Done? on: May 23, 2021, 01:20:19 PM
Hey everyone! just trying to gather some sentiment what do people think are we at the end of the bullrun here or is it possible for a double top (similar to 2013)?
If you think bull run was done and exited the market, you can enjoy life.

If you are waiting to buy your first bitcoin, it is best time to buy, with Spot trading.
If you are senior bitcoin investor, and believe in the fractal of 2013 bull run, double tops, you can accumulate more and hold your bitcoin for the second top.

I believe bitcoin will rally and accumulate before it gets a new all time high. When all FUD goes away, you will see the rally.
2527  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Satoshi Response To Elon Musk's Tweet On Bitcoin Mining on: May 23, 2021, 12:56:23 AM
When I see the topic, I thought Satoshi came back to Bitcoin community suddenly after one decade stays in the dark.

The post you quoted is the response of Satoshi or his view about Bitcoin mining and cost of electricty.

Satoshi did not response to Elon Musk's tweet. Did he know Elon Musk when he made that post? Satoshi responsed to gridecon's post indeed.

o_e_l_e_o's post is perfect. Bitcoin network was smaller in the past and cost of electricty to mine one bitcoin or of the whole network every day was smaller than today.

If mining farms want to invest for more equipments, they can use exhausted heat from mining rigs in 3Rs cycles as Reusing.

I have great sympathy and respect for the coaching talents of Jose Mourinho, but according to the latest results of the teams he leads, it seems that Mourinho has forgotten how to do a little psychological work with the players of the teams, than the Portuguese specialist was famous before and I am not sure that Roma is the best option for him at this time. For example, I thought that after Tottenham, Mourinho would take a short sabbatical to recharge the batteries, especially since it seems that officially Tottenham did not break the contract, but continued to pay Mourinho under the contract, which does not pay a penalty for breaking the contract. But if the team management and Mourinho have signed a contract, then all the issues have been agreed and all the necessary guarantees have been given.
I think he does psychological works for his players but the soccer has been too different than one decade ago. When Mourinho became successful with Porto then Chelsea, players did not have too much importance like they have nowadays.

Because of financial and advertisement income, soccer clubs now put star players on the top, not coach. It is one of reasons why Mourinho failed in Manchester United and Tottenham. Club owners or director boards don't have enough patience as one decade ago.

I know Mourinho can not blame all of such as reasons for his failures. He does something wrong by himself. I see he realized his mistakes in Manchester United and tried to change in the press conference (from Mr. Special to Mr. Happy and recognised the success and contributions of Pochettino) and few early months in Spurs. Things were well before it became worst and Mourinho fell into his wrong steps.

Congrats but you don't have to make your topic as announcement for your first merit
Having first merit I really feel so happy  and it makes me more hardworking, creative to post.  And I assure to the forum  that  they  will not regret  for giving my first merit
butt sadly to say I don't have any merits heheheheh .

Creative posts don't mean they are good posts. Length, creativeness are not contributors for your post quality. New ideas are not creative posts. If you don't have new ideas, creative posts can not help.

When trying to write quality posts, a lot of people act as though they're writing a book report for school: putting facts that we already know into their own words. Nobody wants to read that, and you will not get merit for it. Moreover, the length of your post and the quality of your English are only minor factors. In trying to write a quality post worthy of merit, you should offer new ideas, personal experiences, or perspectives that other forum users will actually find new and interesting.

Again congrats for your first merit.

2531  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: May 22, 2021, 11:25:50 PM
Roma have not performed as well as expected this season. Mourinho is an experienced enough coach, although his team will not be able to participate in any international competitions next season, I think he will be able to organize the team well. In the 2022-2023 season, Roma may have the opportunity to compete in many international competitions.
Roma does not want to join Europa League and with Mourinho they will want to have a position and ticket for Champions League. Serie A becomes very competitive since this season: Inter Milan, AC Milan, Atalanta, Napoli, Juventus, Lazio and Roma or Sassuolo. If Atalanta won't lose their important players in the summer transfer, they will be a top club in Serie A.

With Mourinho, Roma can join the top four and their aim will be similar to Inter Milan and AC Milan recent seasons. Join top 4 first and try to join the Scudetto race gradually.
2532  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: May 22, 2021, 11:16:38 PM
Do you guys find this situation quite funny intriguing too?

Finally both Madrids won with goals in the second half and ended their seasons with 2 - 1 wins. Congratulations Atletico Madrid for this title. They really deserve it for the long time they stay on the first position of La Liga.

Luiz Suarez has shown how best he can play and contributes too much for the title of Atletico Madrid. 21 goals and 11 of them are winning goals for Atletico Madrid. He is the second David Villa in history of Atletico and Barcelona too.

I don't know what Messi and Barcelona feel right now. If it is a simple math, Barcelona would win the La Liga with Suarez.
2533  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are other cryptocurrencies not like Bitcoin? on: May 22, 2021, 02:44:28 AM
Other cryptocurrencies are not like Bitcoin because they're not Bitcoin. They're different. While Bitcoin is not owned by anybody and is fully open source, meaning anybody could copy it, recreate it, even improve it, the circumstances surrounding Bitcoin make all the difference.

Bitcoin has been copied a number of times already, but look where those copies are today. It seems to me it is all about the incredible level of trust that people have developed toward Bitcoin. Such trust does not solely come from Bitcoin's fundamental features; the circumstances around it truly helped.

Anybody could create another Bitcoin-like cryptocurrency, but it will never gain value more than, or even equal to, Bitcoin simply because of the circumstances.
The decentralization of bitcoin makes it has more value on the market. Decentralization help the network being healthy. Additionally, any upgrade for Bitcoin protocol need to be voted and locked in with high support from the community. It is very different than altcoins or clones of bitcoin, they are centralized and teams behind those projects can centralize protocol, change it in the way they want.

Quote
Bitcoin came out as the first truly decentralized currency. It came out as a product of an unknown genius. In other words, it almost came out from nowhere, although, of course it has its precursors. These circumstances probably made Bitcoin more trustworthy.
Copy and use code of bitcoin is easy for coders but later they don't have idea and capacity to develop their clones. Failures of clones are come from incapable developmental ability of their developers.

Bitcoin has a genius found (Satoshi Nakamoto) and a outstanding core team of developers
2534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are other cryptocurrencies not like Bitcoin? on: May 22, 2021, 02:36:25 AM
my question is that why can't they last and be like Bitcoin and what does it take for this unstable cryptocurrencies to be like Bitcoin.
I'll be glad to get responds to add to my knowledge concerning this . Thank you
Simple answer.

All cryptocurrencies are unstable or volatile and they are all vulnerable with news and regulations. Bitcoin does and altcoins do, they are the same.

Bitcoin is the strongest and the leader of cryptomarket. It has more immunity with news or regulations. In the same bear market or correction time, bitcoin has less fall than altcoins. Altcoins are pump and dump assets. When they are pumping, they can rise more than bitcoin but when the market is dumping, altcoins will fall deeper than bitcoin.

As we can see, China banned bitcoin many times already. I believe there is a lot of misinformation about China news, as most western people do not understand Chinese very well.
People are too blindly believing in news.

Two sides of a coin.
Do China ever accept bitcoin?
If China accepted bitcoin, ok they can ban bitcoin with their changes in policies.
If China have never accept bitcoin, what do you think with the news like that Since today China ban bitcoin.

Indeed, I think I didn’t invent anything here.
I don't offend you. You made a creative presentation for the fact the bitcoiners know. Impressively, your creative presentation can make them think deeply and think differently about the scarcity of bitcoin.

They perhaps will think bitcoin is more scarce after they see your topic. It is your success.

Quote
But my goal was focused on improving awareness on the scarcity of bitcoin future generations will face.
So every Satoshi stacked today, could mean a world of difference in a few halving’s time, and I think this “alternative representation of the reality” could make people think more about that!
Mark your words. Miners are people who mostly understand your implication. They mine bitcoin, sell bitcoin and each four years, they look at bitcoin they sold with regret. Because they mine less bitcoin with same ASICs they have.
2537  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What happens to a deceased account? on: May 21, 2021, 06:21:48 AM
Deceased accounts will be as same as inactive or abandoned accounts.

If those accounts are not compromised for bad things, most commonly scam attempts, none of members in the forum will care about it.

Because it is absolutely difficult to prove that owners of accounts truly passed away. Even if some members share that information, it will be a challenge to verify that information.

Influencers come and go. In market, some influencers I know Jamie Dimon, John MccAfee, Roger Ver, Faketoshi, Elon Musk.

I am a bitcoiner so I use my time to read Bitcoin resources and understand the value of Bitcoin. I believe in Bitcoin, believe in its value because of its deflationary specification.

Influencers. Do I care about them? Not actually but I certainly don't ignore them. Influencers can not steal my Bitcoin and can not liquidate my account if I don't use Margin and let my margin position opens 24/7.

After Elon Musk, there will be more influencers and market will have more news from them. Support then protest, they will change their views with market.
2539  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Equivalent Network Time on: May 21, 2021, 03:17:56 AM
Your Equivalent Network Time is another method to describe the deflation of Bitcoin.

There are some charts that present same meanings. I don't include the chart from third article here, please visit it to see.

The second chart presents almost similar fact with your Equivalent Network Time. Those charts have same meanings, Bitcoin has a serious deflationary supply and it naturally become more scarcity with time.

Your Equivalent Network Time is a reversed presentation of Deflationary supply chart.

2540  Economy / Exchanges / Re: calculate bitcoin fee on: May 20, 2021, 08:33:54 AM
which one is the cheaper way ?
Exchanges charge you a fix withdrawal fee according to their fee schedule. If they don't waive withdrawal fee, they charge a fixed fee as said. Fixed fee means they don't care what is going on the network of Bitcoin.

Mempool is nearly empty, apply that withdrawal fee.
Mempool is heavy, apply the same withdrawal fee.

With non custodial wallets, Bitcoin Core, Electrum wallets for examples, you can choose a best fee rate for your transactions. It will give you cheaper transaction fee than exchanges.

Transaction fees: send or wait. Usually, if 2 to 4 hours as waiting time is not a big issue with you, you will get cheaper fee for your transactions.
