2521  Economy / Economics / Re: Cash is not trash on: February 26, 2023, 11:56:38 PM
Cash is still king on a lot of places, and will be for a long time. Although the government is actively trying to convert everything digitally to make it easier for transactions to happen in this modern world. While keeping cash in bulk brings something negative because it lessens the 'value' of what you own, it's still better to keep them with you especially in places wherein digital transactions aren't possible.

Cash will remain to be useful for a long time. People aren't ready to go against it immediately.

Eternal Fire won the first map, Inferno. Eternal fire was very effective in defense, especially Calyx triggered A side defense very well. EF did good attacking and defense in general, they are starting to play quite compactly on this map now. Xantares did quite well in the Overpass map, and if the match went to overtime, I can say it was thanks to him. At the moment, the match ended in an equal draw 15-15 on the Overpass map. I think EF will win in overtime and close the series here. But I want them to lose and play the decider map, the games of these two teams are very balanced.

Fnatic is really close to putting an end to this series. They are 5 rounds ahead of EF and are definitely putting on a lot of strain to Xantares and the gang. Krimz is doing a lot for Fnatic and it seems that there isn't any answer for his agression here on Nuke. Their CT setup seems impenetrable although we might see a repeat of Game 2 if EF pushed extremely hard and fight for the win.
2523  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 🐞 Dogecoin Will hit $1? on: February 26, 2023, 11:22:42 PM
If Elon Musk is involved, it will be very difficult to reach, of course, not impossible. A full coin flip has a half chance of this guess. Dogecoin has a standing army, just a spark can move a lot of people. A lot of my friends are dogecoin supporters and I know a few who keep it aside for $1. I'm not one of them, let me say that.

Most of your friends will surely not hold doge if not for Elon Musk. Musk is the only one keeping the community and the price of the coin intact, and once he decided to drop it (which I think he wouldn't for comedic purposes) then see every interest and every holder of the coin wanting to get out.

Most people are sheeps following the shepherd. They would blindly follow someone who 'leads' them even though they don't know what the hell is happening.
2524  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: February 26, 2023, 11:09:55 PM
A possible comeback in Formula 1.
Vettel can race at the start of the season with Aston Martin.

Stroll has his hand broken and it is not sure he will race, it is improbable.

In his place, it will race their 3rd driver or Vettel.

It will be their 3rd driver who will race for Bahrain: https://www.planetf1.com/news/aston-martin-felipe-drugovich-potential-replacement/

Quite unfortunate for the hand injury to happen right before Bahrain starts. Must have been really frustrating for Stroll even though he's not racing for the win and mainly just for the points. I'm actually more invested in Vettel possibly handling the wheel for Aston Martin, but somehow okay with their decision to let the responsibility be given to the 3rd driver. At least, we'll get to see how well Drugovich performs on track and not just testing but we'll see. It's as if they're trying to get Lance up to speed before the race starts.
2525  Economy / Economics / Re: Methods to cut food costs on: February 26, 2023, 10:50:17 PM
Those promo codes and coupons aren't available in my country, but I think most stores do have this loyalty rewards system that allows any of their customers to rack up points and avail of perks. For instance, one local grocery chain here offers 30% off of on one of your purchase should you hit the threshold that they require in a month. A lot of average income earners will not be able to hit the requirement, but at least it's there though the system could be better.

Then again, the rising prices on basic goods is really taking its toll on a lot of people's finances. Urban garden might help, but the output will be significantly less and isn't really worth it unless you do have a large space wherein you could grow produce and be self-sustainable on them.
2526  Economy / Economics / Re: Money and education on: February 26, 2023, 10:22:57 PM
Traditional education shouldn't be necessary by now. You can learn a skill and build yourself from the ground up. It's a lot more economical and beneficial for you to just take up something that not a lot of people are taking right now (e.g. physically intensive jobs like machinist, carpenter, woodworker etc.) and rack up the $ because there's practically no competition and just a lot of demand. Once you finish high school, it's better to start learning a skills then you should be good for your professional career - at least that's what I've noticed and observed in a lot of countries nowadays.
2527  Economy / Gambling / Re: Consider open live casino (street gambling games) on: February 26, 2023, 10:11:28 PM
For an Introvert like myself, I never would choose a street game or gambling, I always enjoy gambling alone in my room without any interferences, I was never a serious gambler until I discovered it was possible to gamble online.
Though I personally like the idea of a street casinos for street gambling, as this might bring a whole to pleasure to gambling, but like you said , different gamblers have their different preferences, and I am one of those who would rather lock my self up in my room and play online.
because online gambling might be more comfortable to bet without the disturbance of people around when accessing in the room or in the room itself. it's different when gambling in live gambling especially on the streets where there are very many people around and it's very noisy disturbing our concentration while betting.
almost all gamblers who previously gambled at live casinos now have moved on to online casinos. for another reason, which is more practical and can bet wherever and whenever they want.

Well, it's a given that the games that will be played in a street gambling platform is something that would really draw attention and very crude in terms of experience. It's as real as it gets, and a lot of unforeseen circumstances can happen along the way that might not be pleasant due to the lack of security and also a lot of hot headed people wanting to make a quick buck. I've been on one too many when I was young, and there certainly isn't a semblance of a casino or anything in these platforms.
2528  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: February 26, 2023, 09:54:04 PM
Fnatic managed to defeat IHC. Now it's time for the Fnatic-EF match. I think Eternal fire will win this match, thinking that they will not make the simple mistakes they made in the first match. If Xantares focuses on this match, Eternal Fire will win this match more easily. It all depends on their tactics and timing. I hope EF will win this match and get the last slot. I think they are strong enough to beat Fnatic.

The maps are Inferno, Overpass and Nuke respectively. We have already left the first map behind which was EF's pick. They really showed a decent performance and won by 16-9. Calyx really carried the team by 26 kills as well. His clutch in the final moments was really nice. XANTARES didn't get as many kills as him maybe but the team effort was still solid. This is really what we want to see from them truthfully. Of course a player can make a big impact on a match but you shouldn't just rely on him only to win in the end.

Now we are on Overpass and EF are 4-0 ahead already. I hope this beginning doesn't end up with a loss on this map.

EF could close this now, but unfortunately they have fallen 6-7 against Fnatic. The double peek strat of Fnatic taking out the awper every time is a beauty to watch. This isn't a one-sided match, although I'm quite worried about EF after the end of this half as that means Fnatic is going to be on the CT side, which OVP is known highly for.

I like that teams are getting creative with their boosts and I've seen 2 or 3 boosts thay have been successful thus far lol.
2529  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does this help you win when you're gambling? on: February 26, 2023, 09:25:13 PM
Playing for fun removes the tension and the pressure, and I think that somewhat helps you to make the right decisions and be in a winning position without you having to stress too much about it. That's what I noticed when I started playing purely for fun: I can convert some lose streaks into some greens just because I am composed and able to do a lot of better, informed decisions compared to when I'm playing for profit. Has something to do mainly with mind states and calmness for sure.
2530  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What was he doing with 0.48 cents? on: February 26, 2023, 04:34:15 PM
There's a high chance that those few cents were flipped into hundreds of thousands and the buyer never looked back. Or sometimes, people tend to forget that they have some bitcoins lying around and ended up losing all the stash because they can no longer remember it. Whatever the case is, the most probable answer is that they no longer have that in possession. At least they experienced buying every bitcoin that they own at an extremely cheap price, something that not everyone can brag about Cheesy
2531  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting fraud in Brazil 😦 on: February 25, 2023, 11:59:49 PM
Gambling is supposed to be of all honesty but with the way things are going, there had been bad eggs that had been making things worse for gamblers manipulating the system to the extent that gamblers are not making up to the kind of money they supposed to make. Gambling is fun when dishonesty is added to it, it becomes something worse that everyone will want to use greed to win.
This kind of things do happens most in street gambling where gamblers don't mind using cheating system to make sure that they make winnings and sometimes when it is discovered, it do lead to fight that can lead to bloodshed.

Gambling isn't supposed to be honest, it just needs to be fair. But with the way things are going, fairness isn't really upheld and things like these happen because people are not held to a certain standard. Well, what do you expect? So long as an industry rakes in the big bucks, it will slowly lose its morality and sense of fairness. These people know from the get go that if they do certain things, they'll get the huge payout. It's certainly what's happening right now and I doubt it will change any sooner.

2 Chinese teams are already surely out for the Dota 2 Lima major's group stages.

For group A --> Ehome

For group B --> Knights

Both teams still has some remaining games for the last day but, it won't be enough for them to be saved.

More details about the group stage --> https://liquipedia.net/dota2/Lima_Major/2023/Group_Stage

Must have sucked for them to come into a game knowing that whatever the outcome is, they won't be able to proceed to the next stage. Then again, these teams performed quite poorly and does not really have any more weight in the tournament progression. Tundra is also a disappointment, but I guess that remark that they only win because they know how to exploit certain mechanics might be true; in a classic Dota with no cheeky plays available, they struggle in the laning phase and in the mid game which is quite uncharacteristic of a TI champion. Even Team Spirit is still a force to be reckoned with even after they lost some key parts of the original TI10 roster.
2533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My $300 bet won $417,000 on: February 25, 2023, 11:04:25 PM
True example of 'quit while you're ahead'.

This is what a lot of gamblers would fail to do, and you just did it because you can. Kudos to you for knowing that your winnings are temporary, and just one bad beat and it's possible to lose that money again. Good thing that you never stayed that long and found gambling to be a leisurely activity, because for sure that's where you might relapse and begin gambling for the win (or for the loss) again.
2534  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury - February 26 in Saudi Arabia on: February 25, 2023, 07:52:38 PM
Since Mike Tyson did an exhibition with Jones, it could be possible with Jake too. All it needs is to show the money. Anyway, good luck to us all.
All hail Jake, hope to win some satoshis tomorrow.

I'd pay to see Jake be pounded by Mike Tyson in a somewhat serious manner. Mike is quite old and has since embraced gentleness after realizing that he has lived a rather violent life, but the man can still throw some insanely strong punches when he wanted to. I think if the money is good, Mike Tyson will give this one a go. Then again, we know that Jake selects his opponents very carefully and that he doesn't really fight someone professional in the field of boxing.
2535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: February 25, 2023, 07:10:35 PM
Map 2 of G2 vs Fnatic really messed up my predictions. I thought it would be a smooth sailing from the map picks but G2 doesn't seem to know what they're doing in Nuke. It may not be their best map but they could have done better as CTs, but no, they played like a tier 2 team on that match up. Lots of bad calls, careless peeks, and literally just wasting too much time without perfect execution.

Expected a 2-0 for G2 to win something but I guess I took my chances too far.
2536  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you keep your gambling habit under control? on: February 24, 2023, 11:55:09 PM
It's easy: I don't think much about it and treat it as a form of entertainment to kill time rather than to win something significant. Never really had any problems with my gambling habits ever since I started doing it a few years back. Also, I have fully accepted that whatever money I am throwing at the casino. there's no way I'll ever get it back, and I guess that acceptance is what probably saved me from chasing losses, which is a bad habit to develop in the first place.
2537  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: February 24, 2023, 11:02:55 PM
Lima major groups are wild so far as I've just witness one of the crazy games in the last period of Dota 2 as EG had a 90% winning probability and managed to trow it all away in favor of Tundra who had a 90% percent winning rate as well and guess what ...they trow it as well and EG managed to win after 63 minutes...crazy. Grin Grin Grin

It's best to skip the group stages given the complexity of the games that are being held right now. It's as if there aren't any clear favorites in here except maybe GG at the moment. Everyone is still trying to get their footing and their senses of dota once more after the first rounds of DPC transpired. Well, the EG vs Tundra is a classic game of punishing mistakes after mistakes, but not having enough gas at the tank to power through and convert to a win. It's good Dota honestly, and I can't complain if we receive a lot of these games even during the group stages!

Here I am thinking that all of these methods are legitimate, then I'm greeted by the first entry: bring a bomb Cheesy Seriously if you're looking to get big bucks without any regard to your safety and whether or not you'll get to spend these money, you can do these thingd. But until then, better think of some other legitimate activities to do in order to make money from the casino because these advices do not seem to be applicable to the average Joe Cheesy

PSG.LGD is not in a good placement in the Lima Major. It's obvious that they are having tons of troubles when it comes to their picks and what strategies they need to employ in order to get a more comfortable game. Honestly, I was expecting that they'll be miles ahead of GG when it comes to group stages being the LGD that I used to know, but it seems that they are not that cohesive yet as a team and they still have a lot of internal struggles to resolve especially in hero picks.
2540  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ️ Esports Prediction & Discussion Thread on: February 20, 2023, 11:59:22 PM
Abit early but lets start betting on the Lima Major

Im going with this for the opening game

Pretty sure that PSG.LGD is going to dominate but Execration might win a single map against Tundra so yeah its kinda weird as most people will choose Tundra but this season, Tundra is not really dominating the DPC so there is a good chance that it they might win

LGD had a hard time getting qualified at first, but with how EG played I guess this would be an even matchup. Both of these teams seem to be just equal right now, so a draw might be imminent. As for Tundra and Execration, a draw is also highly possible. I can't really gauge who's the stronger team on the groupstage as most of those playing have had a rough start. I think doing draws on most of the matches on day 1 is a safe bet, and as the tournament progresses and we see the metas used by these teams we can safely pick, then maybe we can draw a conclusion on which teams will be able to get an edge against another.

LGD had no problem qualifying. They finished with just 1 defeat and were able to out play Aster on their tie breaker. Even with the current changes in their roster, they are still very good. And they belong to one of the strongest regions in Dota. While EG are coming from one of the weakest regions. Though EG finished second, the gap in the competition between CN and SA is wide. I think LGD will win in this match-up. I have not seen them yet start weak in a major so I believe they will start strong in Lima as well. It will not be that easy, but they will definitely win against EG.

That's what I said: at first. They had a hard time but they found their rhythm later on. With the changes on the roster after TI11 they have shifted to a relatively aggressive team unlike when XinQ and Ame is still around. I believe this iteration of PSG.LGD is enough to take on a lot of big names post TI11 shuffle.

As for EG, yes they may have come from one of the weakest regions, but they usually have a shot on group stages before they fall off as tournament progresses. I'm betting on them making a dent against PSG.LGD at the first day. A long shot against a Chinese powerhouse, but still this isn't the same PSG.LGD as before.
