1561  Economy / Economics / Re: Would You Consider Adding Bitcoin to Your Retirement Savings on: August 11, 2023, 02:39:06 AM
Why not? It’s proven to be a profitable long-term investment so I believe it can be worth our money and time especially if its price will keep breaking a new all time high which means our investment will turn out to be 10x or 20x profitable too. However, we should always stick to the basic rule when investing, always invest money that you can only afford to lose. Bitcoin is a profitable asset, but we can’t guarantee if it’s still be the same 10 or 20 years from now so its safe to invest with caution.

You are right, don't be blindly thinking that your money will grow about 10x and you'll go all in, in which we know that the risk of losing it is high, so it's still preferred that some of your retirement savings go to Bitcoin and others are in the bank, no matter how much they depreciate in value, so that you can still have a fallback just in case. Also, it is better to make sure your security is good, mostly when you hold Bitcoin, and be up-to date on the news on Bitcoin, as for sure there are new innovations throughout that time.

This is true, and a safe and secure way to ensure that there is money to be saved in both aspects. It will be hard and too risky if we only rely on Bitcoin for our retirement savings as the growth of the profit is not guaranteed, same goes with the bank as banks can always file for bankruptcy if things go for the worst. Hence, having both can increase the guarantee that you will have savings.
1562  Economy / Economics / Re: Real estate vs cryptocurrencies vs business on: August 11, 2023, 02:10:56 AM
I'm not sure what the currency is regarding your post but let's assume it's my local currency, then half a million wouldn't be that much so I have to be smart about it. Regarding the options, of course, it will be ideal to have three of those at once, two at best to ensure that there is guaranteed profit in a way. However, (again) half a million is not much in my country so it is not ideal to have three investments so I can only choose one, then in this case I am choosing real estate. Real estate guarantees profit and is stable with rental or even Airbnb business while Cryptocurrencies and having a business can be too much of risk as I can only work around my half a million.
1563  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wagering - share your opinion on: August 10, 2023, 11:55:39 PM
I think wagering is just a subtle way for casinos to get back the money that they pay out in rewards. People never wager with 3rd party Slots because the RTP will quickly clean out their balance... but the in-house games with the good RTP are similar to slow boiling a frog in a pot.

Take DICE on Stake.com as an example ... Put it on a 1.0102x Multiplier with a Roll Over of 2 that will give you a Win Chance of 98% .... and then spin say 10 000 x $0.30 bets. (Enable Live Stats and see how slowly it will drain your balance) ......that is wagering and you are slowly boiling like a frog.  Roll Eyes
This is one of the strategies that was recommended to me if I want to get to VIP status as fast as I can. But hell no, I'd rather let the RTP decide how it will bring me back to my initial balance while I am pursuing the jackpot prize.
I guess those who had been thinking they will get a lot of money in their VIP ranks totally rushed things out and now those same people are recommending the same. But there are good high-ranking guys that will tell you not to do it and just enjoy the game as much as possible not rush things out because we will get there somehow although it will take time.
With how much they spent wagering is not enough to ROI from all the VIP bonuses and features. So, might as well just keep on pursuing the jackpot while my wagering amount is climbing.

If it were me I'd take the slow grind with small bets than rushing things out to get the bonus but that's just me. I want to get the most experience out of the money that I deposit on the casino instead of getting the bonuses or the tiers, hence why I don't get any rankings of some sort on the casinos that I play on.

I might try to chase bonuses soon, though right now, I know that it will eat a lot of my time.
1564  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Peer pressure as a substantial gambling catalyst. on: August 10, 2023, 11:32:37 PM
Peer pressure has a role to play where morals or self discipline is lacking in substantial amount. I would like to think that if one likes to be in the midst of a lot of persons, they might sooner than necessary bend to the tune or habits of the group or join to have a group habit.

For me though, it simply is for fact that a gambler became a gambler out of choice or was booed into it. Perhaps the thought had been lingering, unlike any other indulgence for pleasure, one or two gambling games would have been okay, but it wasn't.

Depends on the person entirely. I've known a lot of people who have been groomed into gambling but never dared touch it. For them, it's just another waste of their money, and they'd rather take up an expensive hobby than to gamble their money. I understand their reasoning into not gambling, and no matter how much that person's group coerce him into gambling, they'd rather not do it because it doesn't really benefit them at all.
1565  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Signs that indicate you are not addicted to gambling on: August 10, 2023, 10:50:55 PM
First sign is to have the betting apps on your phone, some of us see it as a means of survive in this poor economy, But its really eaten up the little savings we have already. Its very difficult to get away from gambling, its only God that can save one from this addict.
Some are just lucky to be winning everyday, and they never see any evil in it, but those that lose everyday called it evil, that's the problem of gamble.

Even if the mobile application of the gambling was their in your mobile, the self control is the most important one.Until your finger touch the application, the application will not open.Like wise until you play, the game was not played. Some gambling addict face all the small savings into gambling by finding the big win.But they should play the gambling with the time limit, then he will not get addicted.People with good gambling experience will do gambling game on Sunday and from Monday he start to work.So this time limit allow them to control his mind from the addiction is my opinion.

Sometimes, the thought of depositing money and losing it in a gambling platform pains me. I guess that's one of my strong points since I recognize that the loss of any amount of money is something that I really cannot stomach. I'm thankful that even if you give me extra money and a very accessible gambling platform, I'd choose to keep the money and spend it on other things or rather save it. Self-control is something that not a lot of gambler have, but once you have employed it, it's hard to get off of it.

1567  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I see it, I feel it, I know it and it will live forever. on: August 10, 2023, 03:10:38 PM
Is this trolling? Is this an actual thing? I'm not sure but this post feels like fiction. I have been seeing a lot of posts here about neighbors and then OP being the knowledgable one with Bitcoin changing their lives so they wanna do the same with others.

I don't know what the sense and main point of this post is, but if it is stating the bitcoin is gonna last forever, well no one knows. The market is unpredictable, it is hard to actually say as Bitcoin is not yet accepted by many countries.
1568  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Great new youtube documentary about btctalk member Jimmy Zhong (mb300sd) on: August 10, 2023, 02:33:56 PM
Thank you for sharing. I have been looking/searching for actual documentaries that involve Bitcoin and security systems. These days all I can see are movies and shows that mentions Bitcoin but do not even touch the tip of the iceberg. It's nice to have an actual documentary with a discussion about it. I will definitely check this out.

Will love to see more recommendations like this.
1569  Economy / Economics / Re: New Research found Work from home workers to be less productive on: August 10, 2023, 01:09:34 PM
I guess some companies are lacking workers because people are now working more at home? Can't help it but think this way.

Those who work in a office for a company have a target, their salaries is the first thing that's most important to them, and to make that comes easily they have to do their jobs right.

Now those who work at home also have the same dreams and goals, to make money and nothing else, what makes you think they are less productive? If they are, how are they going to make money?

It's always about the money, if you are making money it's means you are productive and you are doing it right.

This is a good argument. Will the work setting even matter if the drive to get money is there? People will push themselves to be productive at the end of the day to get the money they need to pay bills and pay their expenses for their lifestyle. At the end of the day it is still work and their primary source of income. So, does it matter?
1570  Economy / Economics / Re: Would You Consider Adding Bitcoin to Your Retirement Savings on: August 10, 2023, 12:38:04 PM
Absolutely!!!
Bitcoin is one of the best assets one can have in this century. Instead of depending on fiat currency and fixed deposits, why not have Bitcoin, have gold, have a business, and many other assets available.
All these can give high returns in the long run.

I agree. It is a good asset, a guarantee that you will have money even if you don't technically work. However, having it alone is not ideal or advisable. It is better to have other assets like land which is guaranteed to have good rates. We can think of bitcoin as a sub asset that is good for financial assistance when we get old and are more focused on resting and enjoying life.
1571  Economy / Economics / Re: What's the effect of having plenty children to the national economy of a country on: August 10, 2023, 12:19:00 PM
I think on the current situation of things across the globe, I would sincerely advise parents should give birth to a number of kids they can bring up in consonance with their income.
Because as an average income earner, you shouldn't give birth to children you cannot feed or take good care of.
gone are those days you need people to help work in your farm as parents.
Today, you have to spend money on school fees, clothing, electricity bills, feeding until they are up to an age to start staying on their own.
I feel rich people, can afford to give birth to as many as they want because the economy favours them.
Agreed, the global situation need to be considered before giving birth to a child. It isn't a task that could end in a short time period. Growing a child requires additional earning, compared to the past there is good awareness around and people have been giving birth accordingly. In my country the number of child have reduced to two and over time this could move to one as the parents are thinking wise and doesn't want their child to suffer. In the past the children grew by their own and now those opportunities have shrunk due to the difference in the parenting. Everything is on a cyclic process, and things could take a change with time.

I completely agree with this thought and advice. If we cannot take care of them and give them a full life, then it is best not to give birth to them. Things have changed a lot and not having money these days is a very terrible thing. Don't compare our generation with our parents' generation, they didn't have many diseases in their time and could still live without much money by raising livestock and farming. But today, there are too many things to worry about when the weather is getting more and more severe, everything requires money...The birth of a child should be carefully considered to suit the family's economic situation.

I couldn't agree more. I always say this and I think it is very important to emphasize that giving birth to child with poor economy and environment does not just bad for the parents but also to the child. Long gone are the times when it is okay to have birth and see where everything goes. Today, family planning is vital to ensure the child and the family's future.

I am not denigrating or disparaging the poor, but do you agree with me? If we give birth to a child without being able to take care of them and let them grow up without adequate care. That affects not only their future but also society and those around them. A child without education and love will easily fall into the wrong path and cause social evils.

I not only do not advise but also want to criticize those who give birth without taking into account the family's economic situation. That causes a lot of problems for society.

No, I completely agree with you and got your point. Especially to those who decided to have kids despite knowing how difficult life will be for them as they are experiencing it firsthand. Then they will ask for help, give the responsibly of raising their kids and providing their needs to the government and society. Even complaining about how hard life is when they know such a thing will happen when they decided to reproduce.
1572  Economy / Economics / Re: It ain't meant to be easy on: August 10, 2023, 11:38:22 AM
Certainly it is not supposed to be easy, you cannot reach any goal in this life, no matter how small it may seem, without making effort and hardship and striving to achieve this goal.

Take, for example, I suffered a lot at the beginning of the forum, and I was wondering how to get a merit? Can my rank rise one day in the forum as these members did? But with patience, perseverance, follow-up on good work, and determination to achieve the goal, I managed to do that, thank God.

Everyone can do it, but they need patience, learning, self-development, and persistence to reach the goal.

Couldn't have said it any better. We all start somewhere and it is up to us if we are going to do something in order for us to make a development for ourselves and rise. We cannot control where we come from but we can control where we go from there. That is something I have always reminded myself of and here I am now doing better and making progress each day.
1573  Economy / Economics / Re: Big companies will never let you have the financial freedom on: August 10, 2023, 11:19:05 AM
Financial freedom, or at least at the full existence of it, cannot be exercised if you are working under a company (the government also adds into this). First off, companies wants themselves to get rich not their employees. They want hardworking and money driven employees that will spend hours of dedicated work to be on their side to make them money after all.
1574  Economy / Economics / Re: Iran and Russia want to issue new stablecoin backed by gold on: August 10, 2023, 10:43:27 AM
Gold of course is the most trusted commodity in the world, when there is an economic problem between countries, the best solution is to use Gold, it is natural that many countries including Iran and Russia plans to use Gold for the basis of money so that anyone will be optimistic about the plan.
I also feel so optimistic about this, Actually I am so grateful that more country embrace cryptocurrency. i remember in the past there are more country against cryptocurrency than country who embrace it. I think we should appreciate every country or company which even only have plan to use blockchain technology and cryptocurrency.
I myself am also glad about this, countries accepting cryptocurrency is a huge thing and will cause good development. However, am I the only one a little skeptical about this sudden acceptance and development from these several countries? Granted they probably have a reason to accept cryptocurrency but knowing how government works and their mind for money it makes me a little worried.
1575  Economy / Economics / Re: PayPal becomes first major fintech to launch dollar-backed stablecoin on: August 10, 2023, 09:42:24 AM
PayPal is good, in fact it is great. With its well established history and millions of users you can say that it can be trusted by many. However, recently I have been reading a lot of negative feedback from PayPal users. Not sure how much these negative experiences can affect such development from PayPal but I guess we'll just have to see.
1576  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: August 09, 2023, 11:46:56 PM
Yesterday, there was a rumor about Topson possibly playing for Tundra because of Nine pub games where he's mostly been playing the position 4 role and it makes sense when we saw Saksa missed the last two or three tournaments.
This is a monter line-up if this true. Nine is a very success pful mid laner that dominate most of their matches. Stepping down to pos 4 will give him a better insight on how to properly support midlaner since that is his forte. Both Godson and Nine is a high level player with unorthodox game style.

If this line-up come through and they sync properly. I think they might have a chance to properly defend their title because we all knew how bad Tundra now without Saksa missing most of there matches.

Saksa is one of the anchors of Tundra, and without him, they're basically not the same team as they aren't as aggressive without the guy. Topson might be a good addition to the core lineup, although they will have to delegate the roles properly to make sure that everyone functions at their 100% capacity. They basically just lost a good support with Saksa being unable to play, and with skiter possibly being the 4 support (not confirmed yet) to give way to Topson taking the mid role and Nine transferring to a carry position.

I doubt it will be hard for them to figure things out, although it should still be a shaky lineup on their first few games for sure.
1577  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Importance of Gambling to the society on: August 09, 2023, 11:20:45 PM
~
So it's not a benefit to the "society", it's a benefit for the government. Even if it was, we'd probably call it an indirect benefit. And in the first place, even if casinos were gone, something would simply replace it that the government can benefit from all the same imo.

And this so-called "big contribution" of yours is really, solely for a group of individuals (if they actually even receive said benefits). The damages it could do to a single person can't really be offset by a small part of that big contribution. And in reality, people are small-minded. They mostly care about how something benefits them directly, not indirectly.

It creates jobs, provides money for taxes, which in turn will be used into something for the public. In a way, it provides some sort of ‘benefit’ to the society, due to the fact that it helps the gears of economy turn in small ways. I’d say that gambling isn’t really a crucial part of the economy and society as a whole, but it is ‘nice to have’ as it adds to the taxes and job market. It can disappear tomorrow and people will still be fine, as those displaced in their jobs can easily integrate into other job positions without having to worry too much about training or relearning stuff.
1578  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sudden Wealth Syndrome (SWS) In Gambling on: August 09, 2023, 10:58:52 PM
I experienced this when I held bitcoin for a few years and sold it at a greater price than what my entry price is. It was a sudden jump in the money that I was handling, plus I got promoted to a senior position in my job that greatly increased my pay. It was, at first, tough to handle the inflow of money since I wasn’t so used to it. I splurged and spent like there’s no tomorrow, until such time that I realized that it’s something that might be gone in a moment’s notice and that I should be careful in my spending. Thankfully, when I started to gamble, I already know how to handle my wins. I managed to use what I gained on my previous wins for my next sessions, until it became a habit that I will not deposit unless I have run my funds dry in my gambling account.
1579  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Ano ang gagawin mo? on: August 09, 2023, 04:32:38 PM
1580  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: can Bitcoin provide food for our table on: August 09, 2023, 03:44:17 PM
I think with trading they will be a provision of food in our table
Bitcoin, trading and food all in the same phrase, to me it looks like the perfect recipe for ending up completely broke Grin Bitcoin could help you bringing food on your table just if you are patient to hold long enough and then you sell, of course it depends on where you live and what value bitcoin has reached. Trying to make a living out of trading is a very risky move, on average almost 90% of traders lose money, the odds are not in your favor at all as you can clearly see.

This is exactly my point. It is hard to rely on Bitcoin to handle food funds. It is too unstable to ensure that it will consistently bring food for the family. Relying on Bitcoin is too risky as trading can either go really well or really bad which will affect the funds needed to ensure that there is food to eat. Moreover, costs for food is high in majority of countries due to inflation, add the unstable value of bitcoin and you'll be in a really risky situation.
