What do people think this coin could really go up to?  Possible $100?  What about $500?

The thing is right now its pretty expensive already if you want to buy it.

Also to those of you that got it at 25 cents, was it available on bittrex at those prices?  Or not?
$100 easy. $200~500 possible. $1000 not impossible but perhaps in 2019~2020 and not 2018.

Well done miners, trying to kill bitcoin. The price dumping hard, the fees very hard... Useless network.

This actually makes me wonder how much I paid for fees today. I used arbitrage opportunities to transfer coins between exchanges for some trades and ended up with more coins than I sent out. But I didn't really pay attention to whether or not the fees were significant for the BTC transfers...

Soon it will cost more to send a coin than to buy one. Undecided
Even if that was the case, it'd become virtually free once LN rolls out.
2523  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 22, 2017, 01:33:07 AM
The altcoin market is starting to show a lot of red. This could mean that they are going to crash soon and the money is going to flow to BTC or that they are going to start crashing along side BTC.

Looking at the BTC chart we are stuck in a very well established down channel. I see roughly 4 hits on the support and 4 hits on the resistance. fingers cross we get a bounce off support at 14400, and then a break of resistance at roughly 16000.

One thing that has me concerned about this correction over the other ones this year is the speed. it seems to be a lot slower than the others, I hope this doesn't mean anything.

Well its a possibility but I think maybe a lot of new people coming into alts rather than btc as they see btc as too expensive which means that some not all of them will be thinking long term and ignoring the current price action.

I dont think someone which has just invested say in 5 NEO or whatever coin is going to think about selling because the price starts to drop as its not enough of an investment to warrant worrying about smallish price movements in the short term.

And I suspect there is a lot of people who have entered the scene but have invested less than a 1000 dollars into X-coin and so will not be thinking about selling anytime soon

Also a lot of alts are showing RED because they made significant gains in the past few days so are in a sideways action... Some of them forming bullish pennant flags although like I say in BTC anything can happen
I'm having quite a few green candles in terms of alt/BTC today.

I'd be much more into an Amazon LN hub.

Come on. Who on this planet has the best internet toys and the biggest incentive to get your business? I'll give you a clue. They start with an N, the middle bit is an S and the last one is an A.
I'm not sure whether or not they apply in my legislation. And Amazon is quite a decent tool for crypto bamboozles right now.
2525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Ethereum a bubble? on: December 22, 2017, 01:30:31 AM
I think it's a bubble, but it's safe to say there will be much bigger bubbles in the near future. And I don't even like Ethereum.

Why you dont like etherium? Its future of altcoin.
Anyway, each people has their own opinion. In my opinin, etherium also a bubble. Bubble will always stay as bubble and make people rich.
More bubble are waiting. All altcoin also the bubble so not only etherium. But just think how e can take advantages from this bubble.
Waves is more efficient (up to 125x faster than Ethereum) and just missing smart contracts right now to replace Ethereum for ICOs and tokens.

Trading seems too risky to me. I prefer hodl
This is the best move if you don't know what you're doing. It pays off to study fundamental and technical analysis though. If you understand fundamentals you can pick a coin for technical trades without the risk of losing money through trading (if you flunk a trade you can just stay in until you reach the higher price that you've found through fundamental analysis).

Secure your crypto currencies. Database with more than 1 million Private keys leaked. Downloaded a huge bitcoin private key database hacked from Major exchanges. Many keys contains unclaimed bitcoins (0.001 - 10BTC).

Download: http://fuckingscam.com/nbxv2ib68fzpg6p4b42otogp

I have earned 11.38 BTC total from this in 5 days, but I'm almost on the verge of losing my mind searching for bitcoins in the ocean of keys.
I'm just selling it off.
Do not download this. It's pretty much 100% a phishing attempt. Post reported.
2529  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is Master Degree Important? on: December 22, 2017, 01:24:31 AM
If you plan to climb the corporate ladder, you NEED a master degree, because if you don't have it you will be blocked.
If you want an entrepreneurial career... throw to hell degrees and star to make experience :-)
No you don't. Quite a few of the most successful people in the world don't have a degree at all.

This is true. But if you compare, on average, a group of people with a certain level of education, whether master's, BA, high school or PhD, those with the highest qualifications come out on top in terms of income, health, and a number of other important correlates.

The problem is that in a lot of top positions in corporate or in public system, a master degree is mandatory, even if it doesn't have a relation with the job.
And, of course, in the academic field you can't do anything without degree.
But, I agree, in business is different.
Every good company will prefer somebody with excessive experience and proven skills over a graduate student. The only question is whether or not you're capable of picking up skills on your own.
2530  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I quit trading on: December 22, 2017, 01:23:43 AM
I never quit trading i am studying candlesticks and it only the begining
Make sure to study fundamentals as well. If you understand fundamentals you can be more or less certain that you won't lose money even if you flunk a technical trade.

I see you have a big capital that you want to risk, and so I suggest you a very prudent strategy: invest 1$ in 47 different currencies and become rich when one of them makes a 1,000,000X gain.
lol
2532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHAT İF I TOLD U RİPPLE İS REAL BİTCOİN on: December 22, 2017, 01:22:33 AM
The foundation needs more money...prints more Ripple...more money needed...prints more Ripple. Ripple is definitely nothing like Bitcoin.

You need to understand that banks are not going to use someone else's blockchain technology. They will steal and control what they can - they will not trust a third party.

People in crypto just want to make a fast buck, they don't care if the fundamentals makes no sense. Welcome to the new dotcom bubble.
This also makes it easy to make money if you understand fundamentals and place a lot of importance on them. If you know the true value of a coin you can trade it without ever running the risk of losing any money, given that you're prepared to ride a temporary downtrend.
2533  Economy / Economics / Re: Does this mean Cash will be extinct? on: December 22, 2017, 01:21:26 AM
Paper currency and coins are still the most common form of payment. for now cash can never be replaced with other mode of payment, just for now.
So for now, or never? Roll Eyes
Never, bitcoin volatility is one of the factor it cannot replace fiat. It will be hard for the price of items or stocks to be stable due to high volatility rate of bitcoin. Fiat also increase and decrease of value every day but for just a little.
The volatility is a moot argument, considering the fact that Bitcoin would keep rising if it established itself as the new store of value. If people could easily spend gold nobody would use fiat anymore. And Bitcoin with LN will make just that possible.
2534  Economy / Speculation / Re: goldman is setting up a bitcoin trade desk on: December 22, 2017, 01:20:19 AM
Maybe we can use the Goldman Sachs Lightning Hub?
I'd be much more into an Amazon LN hub.

Dear friends,

I have 2 BTC - it's all my money.
Should i buy and hold Waves coin for longterm (end of 2017)
Thank you so much

I dont think is it a good a idea to hold waves on long term, better keep your btc and wait for the bump again.
Waves can climb 10 to 100 fold just in 2018 alone based on fundamentals.
2537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH target 1000$ in ending of this year on: December 22, 2017, 01:18:03 AM
Bitcoin has already touched $17000 mark and in Korea it is reported that Ethereum has touched the $1000 mark!

BTC and ETH are two great successes in the cryptocurrency world. Investing in Eth is probably the best option right now if someone is seriously thinking of a long term investment. The potential for Eth to grow is far far greater than any other altcoin. Btc has already hit quite a price that one has to be rich enough to buy it. But I personally feel that the value Btc in Q2 of 2018 will be between $20000 and $25000. With Eth I think it will be around $1300.

The growth rate is exponential but a little unpredictable for both. By the end if this year a stable Eth around $1000 value may not be expected by in Q1 2018 quite certainly Eth will surpass $1000 mark.

With Btc touching $20000 mark, faith in cryptocurrency along with aspirations and interest will make people invest more. Naturally the demand for altcoins and especially Eth will increase. Even day traders will show keener interest in Eth. As time progresses Eth will inch closer and closer to Btc but the volatility of Btc will not be found with Eth.

Thus even greater demand and investment can be assumed for Eth in 2018.
Bitcoin has already touched the $24,000 mark in Korea, and has been over $20,000 on EU/US based exchanges as well.
2538  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Ethereum a bubble? on: December 22, 2017, 01:17:22 AM
No for me since Ethereum is next to Bitcoin as far as market capitalization is concerned. Its market price now at 800USD will soon rise and 100USD mark is possible to achieve before this year ends.
On the other hand, Ethereum is important in ICOs because it's the primary blockchain their tokens need.
It has a few contenders though. Waves is dropping it's smart contracts in Q1 of next year, which is just a few months away. At that point it will be the most efficient ICO/token platform in all of crypto.

Been gone for a few days and noticed the last question regarding the LNC token utility aspect.

Are 100% of the fees going to be distributed among tribunal voters? Or is a part going to token holders in a way that a dividend would be distributed?

Also, since Ethereum had some major issues with that crypto kitty game (which only added 7~8 tx/sec to the blockchain), do you intend to implement further currencies for paying in the future if the slow transcations become an issue? The new Waves platform already supports over 100 tx/sec and can go up to ~1000 tx/sec, which is quite a leap from what Ethereum offers right now. Without a doubt the ERC20 blockchain will get upgraded down the line and you've already mentioned potential fiat gateways, but this in general still is something that is unclear to me.

Have the new technical papers been released yet by the way?
Hi,
I don't believe that it is currently a huge problem because if I make a quick calculation.
If we add 1 transaction per second to the Ethereum Blockchain we generate 86400 transactions (60*60*24) per day. On current freelancing platforms every job has at max ~3 bids which results in 6 transactions per job (1x creation, 3x bid, 1x accepting, 1x payout). If we divide the transactions per day (86400) by the amount of transactions per job we get the result of 14400 jobs per day. As comparison Freelancer.com currently handles ~8600 jobs per day. This proves very well that we don't need that many transactions as for example a decentralized exchange  Smiley.

All fees are distributed to the voter in the Tokenholder Tribunal to encourage voting on the platform.

Regarding Waves, it is currently no solution because they don't support smart contracts as of now but I will keep an eye on them. Other currencies are no problem to implement especially Ethereum Tokens.

The new whitepaper is already released you can find it here.

Thanks for your great question and best regards,
The Blocklancer Team
I'm mostly concerned about Ethereum breaking down again and causing delays for freelancers and clients. Or at least I was until I saw your calculations. If Ethereum doesn't upgrade its transaction throughput significantly, Blocklancer could actually end up congesting it on its own. With the Freelancer market growing at a rapid pace filling up 14400 jobs a day doesn't seem like a too outlandish target, especially if campaign managers ended up throwing their bounties onto Blocklancer to ensure that the people that join their bounty campaigns are of a high calibre.
Fortunately that's still a few years into the future though, so by then ERC20 should be much more efficient than it is right now.

With fees being distributed to the voters, would that (in analogy) make the voters similar to miners on traditional PoW blockchains? E.g. with difficulty being the amount of votes, rewards being the amount of fees and hashrate being the amount of tokens held by a given voter?

Thanks for the Whitepaper, will be reading through it over the holidays.
Hi,
Yes you're completely right with your comparison it is the same concept as Proof of Stake with the only exception that you solve disputes in exchange of transactions. A Proof of Vote system so to say.
Actually we talked the very same in the office a few months ago with the only exception that we compared it with Proof of Stake and not Proof of Work.  Smiley

Best regards,
The Blocklancer Team
Ah, using PoS as an analogy actually makes more sense since it's much closer than PoW. I'm just way too used to mining so I thought of the PoW comparison first. Glad to see you made the same analogy, further evidence that your team is well versed in all things crypto. Smiley

By the way, do we know how long the ICO is going to last yet once it goes live?
