You can be a great MMA fighter without top boxing skills, Khabib did great for years before he improved a lot in that area. MMA can be better because it combines other combat sports, but some people don't like wrestling or grappling and find it boring. Adesanya-Alex Pereira is a kind of match to watch. It's going to be a wild fight for thier skills. Who will win is very unsure because of thier records. At the moment, no team's performance is stable except for Union Berlin. Leverkusen and Leipzig are worst off. Leverkusen are now closest to the relegation zone. On the other hand, Leipzig managed to score only 8 points with 7 mats. As all the teams have made internal changes to their squads, the performances of all the teams have been somewhat erratic. That's mainly because they are lacking a striker like Lewandowski and they were so used to him finishing those positions. He scored 40 goals a year just on bundesliga, add in UCL and the cup games as well, that dude had 50 goals a year every year for them, and that meant that it would be easy for them to score, get it to a point and then give it to lewandowski so he could score.
Nowadays, they do not have him, and they still come to a point but then they are lacking that finishing, nobody in the team has it as good as Lewa did and that is the problem. They will adjust and start scoring too, but it will take time to get that responsibility distributed to everyone.

MMA is more barbaric and brutal? It is more entertaining and exciting to watch. If we compare the damage boxers get and the damage MMA fighters get, then I would say boxing is far more dangerous. In MMA we have 1001 way to finish the fight, to stop your opponent. In boxing, every head punch is dangerous and can end persons life. Cut can heal, bruises will be gone after some time, broken bones can be fixed, but damage to the brain can not be cured. Also, I have never seen stories when an MMA fighter died in the ring or on same or next day after the fight. In boxing, we have such examples, and they are more than "can be counted by fingers on one hand".
Agreed, and if Simon Jordan would only learn the technicality of MMA he would surely notice it, and I think Michael Bisping has utterly humiliated Jordan in a right way where he doesn't debate it furthermore because he doesn't have much knowledge with the MMA, but we can not blame him because MMA is close to a real fight, what we call a street fight, but in MMA it is more technical and like Bisping have said it has all the aspect of different sports in one, that is why it is so exciting to watch Than good old boxing, ^ Whatever anybody says MMA is as close as it gets to real fighting. Western boxing is just a part of MMA's whole. It's a skill set that every MMA fighter needs to learn but it's not the end all and be all of the sport. We thought Bayern didn't get affected much after Lewandowski leave but after first three games they went to downhill pretty fast. I've never expected four games in a row without getting them any win. On one hand I'm glad their domination of a decade may come to an end, competition bring more excitement to Bundesliga again. On the other hand this might be a temporary setback. I just wish Dortmund and other contenders use this opportunity and make some point difference. So we can see more competitive league for whole season.
Not just Bayern Munich, Leverkusen, and RB Leipzig also get to that spiral downfall, maybe a slight downfall for Dortmund aswell but they still manage a good game so far, but they are struggling every game, funny thing is Union Berlin has kept their pace to the game, Freiburg has managed to also hang on, we can see in the future game if what may unfold to happen, and we can surely see it on matchday 8 and because Bundesliga is taking a break and the games will resume on October 1,
Is Bayern Munich affected by the exit of Robert Lewandoski? I don't think their poor performance in the German Bundesliga is a result of the player because they are doing very well in the Champions League without the player. The problem with the team I think is their form, they are not playing with seriousness when it comes to their league matches a typical example is their defeat against Augsburg in their last match, they couldn't utilize their chances to score goals.
In the other hand, other teams will have more motivation to perform since the league is now open to more competition and we will see a change if Bayern Munich will not overturn everything within a short time.

No wonder there are such huge cuts only in MMA. It is impossible to make such a cut with boxing glove. Such cuts can occur in boxing after head clash or if a bloody bruise explodes. But boxing, imho, is much more traumatic, mainly because there is no pause (like clinch, ground game) from receiving punches.
Most of this terrible cuts are done by elbows or knees and that is not allowed in boxing, there are gloves in MMA but I think they could be improved a lot to avoid or reduce eye pocking. When I say cuts I always remember Diaz brothers that are always bleeding a lot, and once you get cut it's easier to open old wounds again much easier. I think I never saw Adesanya seriously getting cut, maybe because he has such a great defensive play for avoiding punches. This will surely happen a lot but maybe if there are knee or elbow pads those cuts will surely be prevented, but it will surely lessen the impact of that knee and elbow, and it could be implemented if the UFC wants to, but Boxing is different because they only allow punching with gloves and they surely don't allow hammering punch just like in the UFC, and that eye pokes can not be reduced if they switch the gloves with a more close one, the Grappling or wrestling will tremendously limited, Now the Diaz Brothers are more tolerable to pain that is why they can withstand those blows that hurt the most, and even though there are gushing blood they would simply ignore it, While Israel Adesanya sure has a great defense, I think he incorporates Floyd Mayweather's technique, on his defense that is why it is so good, and right now he has the best fight IQ in my opinion so in the fight between him and Pereira I will still bet for him,
I also expect more cuts in MMA because fighters are allowed to use elbows and they can also kick. The worst cuts I saw in boxing so far were from Badou Jack, Travieso Arce, Vitali Klitschko, and Denis Lebedev.
I remember when UFC goes mainstream and Don King a former top boxing promoter tried to stop it calling MMA a barbarian and very brutal sport. It's been decades now and I cannot remember any deaths from the UFC. While boxing sadly has regular casualties over time. Boxing also has 12 3-minute rounds for a total of 36 minutes compared to UFC's 25 minutes. And boxing's only chance to stop its opponents is by knockouts or technical knockouts where most of the punches are towards the heads. Whereas there are many creative ways in the UFC to stop an opponent.
I have remembered a podcast if I am not mistaken where Michael Bisping defended the MMA by saying that it is more barbaric and brutal than boxing I think it is Simon Jordan that said that MMA fights are Brutal and he doesn't want to watch things where an opponent comes down the canvas and the other will simply still makes another punch until the referee stops the fight, Michael Bisping really put Simon Jordan in his place, here is the LINK |

I dont know whats going on with Leverkusen at the league at the moment , they have played well in the Champions League.
But its at all crazy at the moment with a few teams , best example Bayern Munich and Union Berlin.

Yes, Manny can still fight professionally if he chose to do so but he knows well that he ain't the same Manny anymore that the people knew and his skills are not the same when he was still in his prime. It's still a good idea to do some fights in the form of exhibition fight and that way he can still do his passions in boxing.

This is just reminder how dangerous with combat sport is, it could end up with tragic endings in some cases.

Their problem most of the time is when their opponent is in the lead, they start to lose control of the game.
Connecticut Sun needs some powerful shooters. Heideman is the only one I can see shoot and it's an awkward form that takes time before she sets it up.

What a warrior Gregory Rodrigues is. The way he survived from that huge knee alone and was able to unleash his own attacks was very impressive. I'm pretty sure that doctor would stop the fight if Rodrigues was not able to finish Chidi early in the second round as the cut will easily re-open even during clinches.
Rodrigues will now have to be extra careful with his forehead in his next fights because there is a high tendency that old wounds that were stitched will re-open even from lighter strikes.
And that kind of gruesome cut is likely very alarming and Gregory Rodrigues would need to lie low for about a couple of months so the injury would likely heal properly, but that was one hell of a fight and Gregory Rodrigues deserves that win, he has shown heart and determination to win that match, and that is one fight that I want to watch again, Tanner Boser has lost again and right now to Rodrigo Nascimento, and for this, I think Boser needs to plan his retirement because he just got some bad records and a lot of losses on it, it was a slow pace fight, and likely he can surely become a gatekeeper on the top 15 for the Heavyweight division but aside from that he should already target the money fights, MMA legend Jose Aldo has announced his retirement from the sport after being granted a release from his UFC contract and as the birth of his son. He was a name with many fans and a legendary master of mixed martial arts. His contract is over and his child was born, I think he left with the right decision. I hope everything turns out the way he wants, I have the utmost respect for him. The 36-year-old is one of the greatest champions in UFC and WEC history, and is a virtual lock to earn his place in the hall of fame. His UFC release likely sets him up to try his hand at boxing, something he has shown an interest in for many years. It would be nice to see him in boxing. what do you guys think about leicester city? so far this club has been earned only 1 point. That must be a shame for the leicester's coach. Did you guys think leicester will shacked the current coach with the new coach? In my opinion if leicester is in a very difficult situation right now consider about it been placed at the bottom along with 2 teams. In my opinion if leicester will be loosint until 10 matches in a row and leicester may be going to the earth.
It will likely be for Leicester City to change their coach if their play and strategy would not bear fruit, for Leicester this is not quite looking good for them, the next match for them could be a great match and that is the Nottingham Forrest that is likely they will need to win this to get 1 win, for the Premier League, and Nottingham Fores could be a start for them to get their 1st win for this season,

I am taking the Aces in Game 4 in their series against the Sun. I believe that Chelsea Gray will be able to adapt against the defense of Bonner if Sun will replicate the same defense they had last game. I also believe in Coach Hammon to be able to address the things they lack and counter the defense and offense that the Sun has shown. The Aces know that if they lose this game, it will be an anybody's game in Game 5. They do not want that to happen and will try to close this series at this game. Good luck with your bets! Chelsea Gray as we discussed last day, she needs to find a way to get away from the Bonner defense and she did. Finish the game strong at 20 points.
But the talk of the day is Riquna Williams. A bench player who stepped up her game by contributing 17 points in just 22 minutes of playtime. We could say she didn't waste the opportunity that was given and became dominant.

I was also very shocked by Riquna Williams's performance, and after that game, I looked at her previous scores, in game 1 she only got 3 points, in game 2 she got 1 rebound and 5 points game 3 she got 3 points, while on game 4 she might have gotten familiar with the game style of the Aces she got 2 rebounds and 17 points, this could be another rising star for the Las Vegas Aces, next season, it was really a close game and the Aces just know what they will do, so that's it, Another great performance for Alyssa Thomas, another Triple Double we might see a Russell Westbrook (in his prime) on the WNBA right now, and I think the latent talent for these female players is showing great potential to progress we can never know if the WNBA will be like the way the NBA has gained fans and surely an audience because of this shift, right now there are triple-double on the WNBA, |
