2521  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People who don't use hardware wallets: Why not? on: December 04, 2022, 02:33:18 PM
Why not is because there is Bitcoincore that's free.

3) most people do not trust hardware wallets.

Even when I was aware of it since its existence. I also don't trust HW. Although I haven't heard anyone got hacked or hardware wallet codes are altered, I can't just rely on the words of the company but I do think they are true to thier words in serving Bitcoin holders.

Are the codes of these hardware wallets even open source?
2522  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The goodness of long-term investing in cryptocurrency on: December 04, 2022, 02:18:20 PM
I don't know what others think, but I feel that cryptocurrency is not an asset for long-term investment due to its extreme volatility. Even if we need to use it for the long term, use a very small portion of it. Cryptocurrency is mainly an asset where your position needs to be validated constantly. Get in at the right time, get out at the right time, and re-enter at the right time again. That's what should be the ideal workflow of crypto investment unless and until you have cryptos hoarded since 2009.

I always try to re-position myself in the crypto market rather than keeping my coins idle. I sell when the market is hot and high, I re-enter when it's cold. I make profit along the way!

The volatility will make them very cautious of the market especially when the bull run reaches its peak, they all wanna get out. For short-term investors, I think they get out, leave the market and wait for the prices to start claiming again.

For long-term investors, leave crypto and DCAing or buy the coins and tokens that they think had bottomed because they accumulate more of it. The investors of ETH and BTC who bought at a price of less than $5, may have more in thier holdings after every cycle.
2523  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First time of owning bitcoin on: December 04, 2022, 07:45:15 AM
After every process and the said amount of bitcoin was purchased successfully into her account, immediately there was this expression of the feeling of joy the lady expressed with a wide smiles that seem unending and I was amazed at such level of excitement she showed.

I didn't buy my first sats as it was given to me as my job fee. It was explained only that it was the future of money and blockchain.info wallet was used. I only want to make money at that time but was given me more than enough.

Somehow I also told my sister that BTC is the future of money. And by the time I gave her some BTC, she offer to buy more from me as if her future life depends on it. I eventually told her he can do it on exchanges herself. So far she now blames me for not reminding her to sell when BTC price was higher.
2524  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Types Of Online Casinos To Avoid.. on: December 04, 2022, 06:41:59 AM
From my observations, I think online casinos without online presence or community of users are likely to scam any user

We cant generalize that all Online Casinos without online presence/community are likely scam. If you use it as a standardization, how about 1xbit? This bookie has active representative in this forum, they are promoting themselves through signature campaign as well but in fact they are well known scammers. On the other side, there are also some casinos with no longer active presence in this forum such as Bitsler and Chips, but they are still reliable enough. Casino's presence/community is not a guarantee that they will not turn into scam. There are many other things to consider when it comes to which casinos to avoid.

1xbit is purely business and massive marketing. You can browse crypto pages and you can definitely find thier ads on them including the block explorers.

It likely will depend on the proof that the user has screenshots of his issues and the casino doing the right thing. But ultimately any casino with or without a community can scam. It's just a high possibility that a casino with a good reputation and a big community will protect to continue its online casino business.
2525  Economy / Economics / Re: SBF-Denies Improper use of Customer Funds in a 1 on 1 Interview on: December 03, 2022, 12:10:45 PM
It's a wonder how this guy still wasn't handcuffed. But he actually can get away with all that he did through the help of his parents and the politicians he bought. And the media is not just representing him like he is a misunderstood philanthropist but also wants the people to think that he has no intention of scamming. It wasn't premeditated.

If he isn't someone with well-connected parents, SBF would have been in jail already and could end up dead by suicide.

2526  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Fake coingecko site please beware! on: December 03, 2022, 06:17:15 AM

The x button on the website doesn't work lol it forces its visitors to log in using thier browsers, Damn scammers.
CMC and Coingecko are just lists of coin ranking but these days they seem to be used by developers to distribute airdrops which I guess the phishers are also trying to find ways to get the money of its users.

OP should just make the link above to be "not clickable"
2527  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What would be an ideal KYC solution? on: December 03, 2022, 05:28:46 AM
I'm actually not sure how much is what they consider highroller where they mandate to submit KYC? $50K?

From the research that I did most of them range between 1 BTC and 3 BTC, it depends on the casino. Some claim even 4, but those weren't licensed to begin with, so I have no clue.

3BTC is a bit small for suspecting money laundering but maybe if the value is sky-high it would be fair. Regulation is really here and we can't keep things unregulated since it's always the way before innovations are adopted for all.

My question is just that are we just too naive to think this regulation would be good for us and crypto and that giving up our privacy is worth it?
2528  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How important is BTC to the Society? on: December 03, 2022, 02:36:48 AM

BTC is important for we have yet no definitive idea of what could happen in the future. With BTC, you can keep your wealth whether the country where you are turns into an authoritarian dystopian government. I learned this from prepper though.

There are already places where people can use BTC all around, this could be better if people learn to use wallets where they own the private keys.
2529  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What would be an ideal KYC solution? on: December 02, 2022, 02:22:02 PM
we have different ways and different idea but for me it's better to have or to do a KYC if you are a big gamblers it because you have the assurance that your money will safe and have a big chance to withdraw it but the KYC must be simple and that that strict but like me as a small gambler then it's okay to not or to don't asked about kyc as it was a small amount from my pocket and have a small money in withdrawal.

Since they know that highroller will need to submit KYC docs, they'd better be stealth under the radar instead and just gamble right just the border amount where the casino will not require them to fill KYC. That's one way to avoid KYC.

I'm actually not sure how much is what they consider highroller where they mandate to submit KYC? $50K?

2530  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Best Strategy Crypto Games w/ High Rewards on: December 02, 2022, 02:11:56 PM
Welcome to the forum, pommom2.

NFT games are no longer a thing these days. If there are still some that are existing, they're just up for fun and earns a little from the rewards that they get there.

Remember that these NFT games will require you to invest just for you to have a better threshold and chance of earning but even with that, they're no longer the same as before because of the bear market.

I was hoping to get into Axie if ever the price of the characters becomes cheap but when I saw some of the gamers who I use to look up are quitting already. I was skeptical as well. However, if for instance, the Axie will once again boom in the next bull market. The rest of us that are discouraged to try will probably regret it.

What about Alien Worlds in WAX? It's very popular these days.
2531  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What would be an ideal KYC solution? on: December 02, 2022, 02:36:52 AM
KYC seems here to stay already even the decentralized casinos that are yet not asking for KYC may actually ask if they are sanctioned. There is Betfury and the likes, I think they are not asking KYC AFAIK but until when?

Crypto is regulated. We're likely not going to escape this regulation unless you completely isolate yourself to a close crypto community with unknown coin.
2532  Economy / Speculation / Re: You sure bitcoin/crypto isn't losing popularity to sustain whopping 16K coins? on: December 02, 2022, 02:09:38 AM

You can wait until it's $10K. The better it is for investors to wait for the bottom to get the max profit they could when it's time for selling. It's however the opposite when we are not really going down to $10k.

There is a positive sign though since the FED had already expressed what they may be doing this Dec. Lowering interest rate could lift the price of BTC which you may also be chasing.

Coin flip and more all broadcast from thr streets

What you think?

Are you talking about starting a casino which would be basically a constant live video streaming of gambling from "the streets"?
Well, in my opinion, with no further details from the concept you are trying to explain; it sounds kind of crude.

What is the selling point of broadcasting from "the streets" when there are already very reliable and reputable services which offer those games?, I personally think the theme by itself would not be enough to attract much people. Besides, I am sure some folks around here would prefer to have some provably fair games, instead only live.

And it has to be in the slum area. Yes. That's at least the best choice if he doesn't want to attract attention from authorities asking for a permit/license.

If it's on the street, there will be people around wanting to win. There is no need to make it live on cam for people online to bet. Forget BTC, there is cash on hand.

I am assuming OP is not talking about something as basic and distasteful as streaming some gambling games from a dirty alley in the middle of the night.
I understood that OP meant to open something like a small thematic casino, a fully licensed place (perhaps in a neighborhood) well decorated, clean and with access to a front or backyard where the games, cameras, staff, equipment and hosts would be.

It would be a place for people to gamble in person and also for people to participate from long distances thanks to the streaming of the Roulette, the flip coins, etc. Gamblers could use cash in situ and people online use Bitcoin/Stablecoins.

That is what I understood, at least.

Not easy to set up a game show. Considering that people online are suspicious of the cheats that could happen. Once the roulette turns, they going to question how is the roulette fair every now and then.  But it will be fun though. It's not like this is a PPV so Bitcoiners will be watching it til they are convinced to bet.

Bitcoin's Last Stand sound like BTC is dead once again. The author's take will still convince many people around the world to think BTC is still a currency for criminals and they will push the CBDC for the people.

Regulation can be misunderstood as approval

Why are they going to regulate crypto if it isn't for approval?  China bans it, so why not just ban it like them if they are not approving.
2536  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Losing $350,000 because of a friend, what would you do? on: December 01, 2022, 01:46:32 AM
I had a similar incident, although not exactly in this way. It was 4 years ago. A close friend and I had a joint gambling account. When we were gambling, we made joint decisions and acted that way. But one day it didn't happen that way. When I was going to bet equally on two different games, my friend changed his mind according to his own opinion and played with all the money in one game. He did something like this without my knowledge. At the end of this incident, when we were going to have a lot of money, we didn't have any money. As a result, he is still my friend Smiley After this incident, he returned my main money and we ended our partnership. Since then, I have not involved anyone in gambling.

I believe you were very lucky. Because your friend, despite being irresponsible in the game by betting everything on impulse without consulting you first, at least had the character to admit that he was wrong and return his part of the value.

If you were a dishonest person or simply someone who was in financial trouble, most likely you would never be able to recover the lost money.
I have never opened a joint account with friends and I strongly discourage people from doing so.

Obviously, this sum of money can make you achieve a goal faster, but friendship and trust must be very strong in order to overcome any addiction or lack of control on the part of any of those involved... which is very difficult to achieve. achieve.... I don't even trust myself Cheesy

This is the kind of business that will break a friendship. Even to the most honest person you know, you would rather keep the friendship without having him as a partner in a gambling activity. The fact that he returned the money and ended the partnership means, the friendship has already soured. A life lesson was learned from that situation. Because a friend can think who else can you not betray?
2537  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In the eyes of Sam himself, he is so innocent on: December 01, 2022, 01:21:31 AM
With the people behind him like the government officials, they can really put a picture of him being the victim and innocent when the media comes and paints him being the victim. How innocent can a man be while you see him eating cucumber on tv?

All it needs is another fall guy or the group of kids deciding for FTX who can take the blame.
2538  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: November 30, 2022, 05:06:30 PM

^  Wait...  There's a fine if a Russian flag is displayed by the fighter?  I know Russian flags were disallowed in F1 but I didn't notice it was also the same in the UFC or even football.
No flags of any country will be carried by any fighter and that is the new policy by the UFC, if any fighters violate them, there wont be any fine but probably released from the UFC and that is how Dana White usually conducts business, his way or the highway  Cheesy.

Yeah..  But I think some people are trying to pin the issue totally on Dana White or the UFC.  He has his hands tied and he prolly doesn't give a fk which flag you wave around during walk outs.  You could wave a flag around that says the UFC sucks and he wouldn't care.  It's the United States gov imposing those rules as Russia is currently 'the enemy'.  It's a weird time.

Anyway, you guys got any picks and bets for this weekend's event?  There are some pretty good match ups in here...  Levy vs Valdez is gonna be good, Price vs Rowe, Hermansson vs Dolidze, Tuivasa vs Pavlovich and Nicolau vs Schnell.

It's always weird when politics takes over. The war sometimes extends to MMA matches.
Tuivasa is the only recognizable name on the list. Will go for Holland as long as he isn't fighting Khamzat.

Even if we see another Khabib vs Conor fight, I think that might be one-sided again. Because Connor McGregor is obviously not in his prime anymore. But I am quite confident that even though Khabib Nurmagomedov is retired, and put on quite a lot of weight, he will still be able to get to the one-forty-five-pound mark and beat Conor.

With Conor's leg having a crack, he wouldn't last anymore even if he fights someone else like Aldo who probably hates his guts more than anyone. Aldo will be throwing damaging leg kicks to punish him.
2539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbase wallet to end support for ETC, BCH, XRP, XLM on: November 30, 2022, 01:58:22 PM
There were podcasts discussing what coinbase did was just delisting these tokens because they have less trading volume. Find it hard to believe XRP has less volume.

In order to view or transfer these assets after January 2023, you will need to import your recovery phrase on another non-custodial wallet provider that supports these networks. To learn more, visit our help article: Moving unsupported assets.

I'm not a coinbase user but what I do know is that this is a centralized exchange. I'm surprised to see users have a recovery phrase in which they can import the wallet to a non-custodial wallet.
2540  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fidelity opens bitcoin trading on: November 30, 2022, 01:29:53 PM

They are a big institution, they will probably be working together with CFTC and SEC just like FTX.
And they are going to be like FTX again. Considering the timing of its near launch, they are probably looking at those guys who are still gullible enough to trust an exchange like FTX. We were advised to withdraw assets from exchanges and now we are back again to trusting a CEX. Not your keys, not your coins.
