Cannot change my IP, even disconnecting and reconnecting router, or  turning off and on router,....

How is this "fair" distribution if some people are creating 10+ addresses?
I thought this was going to be somehow fair and one address per person.
what makes it unfair if you input more than one address ? Fair means that if you DO want to input more than one address, it's done in a way that everyone has access to the same amount of "fairness". So in this scenario, 10 addresses would take you 10+ hours to do so... The barrier is discouraging enough to prevent bots, scammers, or greedy people to get a monopoly on this.  10 addresses would give you 10 000 coins. out of the 50 000 000 possible, it's a decent 0.02% of the distribution and leaves plenty of room for anyone that wants to participate, to have their fair share. It looks pretty fair and honest to me.

You are going to have a lot of people creating accounts around the clock to game the system. Why should those people have several times higher stake than those who don't have time to do this?

This also leaves open the ability for the developer to claim as much stake as he wants in the background.
One account per user ensures the developer doesn't have a majority stake because you can see exactly how many people have applied for stake, you can't just create "phantom accounts".

On the issue of people creating accounts (and I assume you mean sending more addresses) the process is so long that this wont affect a vast majority of the people. If you don't have time, well that is your particular situation and this is the same as saying why people WITH time can't benefit from this.

I think fair doesn't/shouldn't mean equally distributed... That's a "socialist" type of idea that I won't get into here.

As for the dev abusing their own system... it is a valid concern.  I think it would be stupid from their part and kill the long term possibilities of this coin but hey, it's been done before... Stupid people are stupid people. I guess we need to have some kind of faith and trust there that this won't happen here.

Blind faith and blind trust have no place in the cryptocurrency world.

The whole point of cryptocurrency is we can't trust people not to be abuse that trust. If you believe this schmuck isn't going to take advantage of possibly millions of dollars (see auroracoin) then.. I really don't know what to tell you.

If people really were making these coins out of the goodness of their hearts and not to get rich they would strive harder to make them fair and equally distributed. Not leave glaring holes in their systems which only they can take advantage of.

What happens behind these pages and what's coming in future, we dont know about that yet but still until 4 days or until it gets 35000 more tokens you are welcome to get your fair share than just attacking other people on forum lol We also have learnt enough about crypto and certainly can say more than 90% of fucking alts have no real use or they dont serve any genuine purpose but yet they are still here hanging around with some hopes and this coin is no exception. Whats the reason not to participate where you dont lose anything not even your hashing power?  Grin

Same trouble !! I have 3 invalid token, what I'm I supposed to do with it ? Yesterday I entered a token, I didn't get nothing in my wallet.

You will submit token and your wallet address for now, Coins will be distributed after 5 days only

After 5 days or 49,750 addresses, 99.5% of the coins are divided fairly between everyone!

Delete your conf and use those nodes to connect, your wallet will sync hopefully  Smiley

great~coin.
this rule means  ,one hour we can get 1000 coin?
Can we use the same wallet address to get coin many times?

Fair-team, can we have an answer ?

My thoughts, since they allowed to issue a new token after an hour limit time in that same IP then address wont be a problem to receive coins but still it wud be better to hear from them just to be sure about it Smiley

Hello,

where is the reward page ? I don't find it anymore. I have 4 tokens now. And my wallet is gone out of sync. About the nodes, I only have these ones in my .conf

addnode=114.214.24.1:46392
addnode=207.245.41.198:46392

But now it says current estimated block N/A
So, is there a fork ?

Add these nodes

addnode=54.84.156.138
addnode=109.87.249.86
addnode=223.78.212.148
addnode=89.166.1.11

Name is decent, distribution is fair, only thing is dont screw people over the network and technical issues, get working on it and we will be supporting it for a long time. When it hits the exchanges we will put whatever we got on it as well  Cool
2532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Faircoin - The First Fairly Distributed COIN -Get your fair share - NOW on: March 07, 2014, 12:41:10 PM
if eventually this is a trojan.. is everything ok if you delete the wallet and everything? or you need to reinstall windows?

No need to re-install windows if you have good antivirus or anti malware and scan and deleted properly..

In my case I still have qt running and waiting for coins  Grin

configure the .conf file with following :
Code:
addnode=54.84.156.138
but cannt sync ,any suggestion?
TX

addnode=54.84.156.138
addnode=109.87.249.86

Thank you.
Another,I just need to write the following addnode content in .conf file,do not need add anything other,such as{rpcuser=picksomething
rpcpassword=picksomething_DO_NOT_USE_THIS_OR_YOU_WILL_GET_ROBBED_1337 },right?

Code:
addnode=54.84.156.138
addnode=109.87.249.86
addnode=223.78.212.148
addnode=89.166.1.11

addnode=94.212.24.127:7711
addnode=88.127.170.75:7711

No, only use add nodes, you don't need anything else. If your wallet sync without add nodes, you dont need them too

@kcanup, why are you using port 7711. I think the default port is 46392, isn't it?

regs tom

Dont know about default port, that was the node someone submitted here before which helps to sync so im just posting it here

one stupid question.
Where to input my token and address ?
Is it in the http://www.fair-coin.info/#getcoins page?
Now I have a token and an address generated from the wallet, and I keep refreshing http://www.fair-coin.info/#getcoins, but it keep showing me like:
'You must wait 1 hour before you can use your token to get Faircoins.
Please use the time to download a client and generate an address.'
Although 1 hours passed.
Should I keep  http://www.fair-coin.info/#getcoins open in my browser and keep waiting and refreshing?

Yes, keep refreshing every so often. The fields will show up when its your time.

do you know how long i can leave it open like this? because i need to leave now

one hour minimum

question, why is my faircoin using 100% of my cores. how do i turn this off

add this line:
gen=0

to your faircoin.conf file

what is the purpose of gen=1 then

that will activate generate true which means wallet will start mining automatically
