2541  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: - Blockchain.com - Reward account blocked and crypto staking gone on: March 19, 2022, 09:25:35 PM
Well, since it looks like you have the 12 words, you'll at least be able to withdraw the non-staking funds in your wallet, right? It's not like they can stop you from typing the backup phrase into another wallet and send it somewhere else.
I don't think this will work. It seems all his coins are on his reward account which is a custodial service and the 12 words seed was used as identification to access his main account and from there he can access the reward account (pls correct me if am wrong).

What's funny is that it took them more than three days to figure out that he accessed his account from different locations and then five more days to realize that his account was compromized. And they are not ashamed to say that their team is working hard to solve the problem! Sorry OP and hope your issue will be solved soon.
2542  Economy / Gambling / Re: Vulnerabilities in gambling websites in past on: March 19, 2022, 08:02:08 PM
I could never run an automated gambling platform for this reason alone.  Imagine having a hot wallet out there with hundreds of thousands of dollars or potentially even millions per day moving through it without any human verification.  I couldn't do it.  I see all of these threads from people wanting to hire others to build them gambling platforms and I just can't even imagine the risks involved with that approach.
But this risk is present in almost all online crypto businesses and not only casinos. Exchanges, for example, also process transactions worth millions of dollars each day automatically. Their systems probably process more transactions than casinos do.
The way to mitigate this risk is by limiting the amount you keep on hot wallets to the minimum and move the rest to your cold wallets and process only small transactions automatically. Large transactions should be processed manually.
2543  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🥇 Crashino.com 🚀 Provably Fair Crash Games, Casino and Sportsbook ✌ No KYC on: March 19, 2022, 07:08:33 PM
NFT Giveaway
Please correct me if am wrong but the item activity on OpenSea shows that the last time it was sold it was sold for 0.04 eth wich is around $120. Is this really how much this NFT is worth or am missing something?

Also, I think it will be more fair if the number of tickets will be determined based on the total amount deposited during the month not how many deposits were made (minimum deposit amount = 1 ticket).
2544  Economy / Gambling / Re: WOWCasino.com | WOW Crypto Casino Official Thread on: March 19, 2022, 05:49:19 PM
Ok, that is good am also having the issue with restriction and am unable to access the platform as I will like to try the site out, am trying to use VPN to access the site but am kind of scared to use VPN because of the possible ban and being unable to verify if the need be in the future.
In most cases, Casinos and online businesses in general ban VPN users only because they use VPNs to circumvent geo blocking and to hide their IPs (when they are from a restricted country).
If a casino/online business find out that a user is using a VPN this will raise suspicion but they will not ban him directly. They will ask him to confirm his identity first to know if he is from a restricted country or not.
So theorically, if your country is not blacklisted and you accept to verify your identity, they have no reason to ban your account. Unless they clearly state in their ToS that the use of VPNs is forbidden.
2545  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Tips needed in Identifying a fake web Address on: March 19, 2022, 04:59:28 PM
You can safely hit enter on such a url because the browser will not redirect you to the destination (unshortened) url, but you will get additional information about the shortened link.

This trick also works with some other URL shorteners, for example tinyurl.com.
It's not really a trick but rather a feature provided by some URL shorteners to let visitors view the real link they will be redirected to so they can decide whether to open it or not.
But you are right, it's safe because even if the URL shortener doesn't support this safety feature, the (+) symbol at the end of the link will make it invalid and in most cases you will be redirected to 404 not found page.
2546  Economy / Gambling / Re: Blockchain Casinos - Consumer's Choice! on: March 19, 2022, 03:53:51 PM
@BitAnaBit, I visited your website and read some of your reviews and I want to ask if you/your team tested all thosee casinos yourself and how frequently do you update  those reviews.
I am asking this because I found some inaccurate or missing information.
I'll take Roobet as an example: your review says it was established on 2014 but as far as I know they launched their casino in late 2019 and even their domain name was registred on 2016. Also, on the available games I didn't see the towers game which was one of the first games they had. Also it doesn't mention their sportsbook which was added few months ago!
2547  Other / Archival / Re: Husires - Abuse of creating duplicate themes on: March 19, 2022, 03:10:47 PM
To be honnest, I don't think Husires' intention was to fish for merits. He started doing this a year ago and it's obvious that the duplicate threads didn't receive any signifant amount of merits, so why did he keep doing it if it's not working!
I'll give him the benifit of the doubt and believe his story.

However, he should stop doing this at least till he fixes his bot as this is not how a discussion forum is meant to be used.
@Husires, you should test your bot only on the archival or off-topic or even better: install SMF on your machine and make your tests there.

2548  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info Something went wrong. Please refresh. on: March 19, 2022, 01:49:38 PM
This is not the first time I see a user complaining about such problem with blockchain.com and, afaik, there is nothing you can do to solve it since the problem is on their end (servers or wallets issues, although they claim all their systems are operational).
Usually, the problem will be solved by itself. You just need to wait few hours/days. You can contact their support and submit a ticket via this page https://support.blockchain.com/hc/en-us/requests/new but you will be just wasting your time.

My advice is to stop using web wallets such as blockchain.com and move your coins to a more secure wallet (i.e Electrum)
2549  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you think DEX is safer? Here is why I don't on: March 19, 2022, 12:23:29 PM
I connected my wallet (metamask) to a few dex platforms to buy and sell some tokens and after every successful transaction I always disconnect but yesterday I decided to check the security option and I found a dex still connected.
How did you disconnect? was it just by closing metamask and the web page tab or did you click on "log out" from your account's settings?
If it's the former then the dex is probably using cookies to log you to your account but all it can do is to view your address. So, it's not really a big issue, just clear your browser cache and cookies from your browser and from metamask (Settings -> Security & Privacy -> Clear privacy data)

Quote
1. Dex aren't safer than cex because with cex you only need to send out your token to the cex address, no connection to the platform which I still believe it's easier to lose your funds this way.
By sending your coins to CEX you are no longer the real owner of those coins. So no, it's not safer.

Quote
2. There can easily be some back code or hack in future that can bypass and steal coins after several connections to trusted dex exchanges before
As long as you are connected to a legitimate website and check any transaction before confirming it, you should be fine.

Quote
3. If you intend to keep tokens for a long time it's safer to stay away from dex, better to send the tokens to cex exchange, your wallet will be safer this way.
The safest way to store your coins for long time is to store them in an offline wallet. You should avoid storing on centralized exchanges at all costs.
2550  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your favorite casino reviewer here in Bitcointalk? on: March 19, 2022, 11:09:40 AM
I will choose BTCGOSU.

They are so far a review site where providing, reviews, feedback and anything else came from real-user experience. Other review sites just doing feedback based on the general reviews they found on the internet.
BTCGOSU is indeed one of the most reliable casino review websites we have here. They also have the most active announcement thread on this forum with more than 51 pages of replies which proves their commitment and dedication to what they do.
But, afaik, GamblingBro also make their reviews after testing the casinos with real deposits and they are gamblers themselves. Not sure about the other websites though!

I didn't vote because I believe customers/gamblers shouldn't limit themselves to one source. They should read more as many reviews as possible (from reliable sources) then make their own mind.
2551  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 1$ per day crypto investment plan any good ? on: March 18, 2022, 11:38:18 PM
If you really don't need that one dollar/day then investing it in cryptocurrencies seems to be the best and wisest thing to do.
But as other members pointed out above, since the amount you are planning to invest is a bit small, it would be better to buy cryptos on a monthly basis rather than a daily basis to save on fees.
You should also know that investing in cryptocurrencies is no longer as profitable as it used to be in the early days. So don't expect a huge profit in a short period of time especially if you are going to invest only on the major coins (btc, eth...)
2552  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question on: March 18, 2022, 10:26:53 PM
Thank you for that additional info, yes, before trust wallet is open-source but with Binance taking over that's one of the changes that has happened. I've read old threads about it that says, they really are open source. Sad to say that they're still saying that they are an open source through their dev page.
Yes, trust wallet was an open source project till Binance aquisition in 2018. At first, they claimed that only the android version is no longer open source and they made its repository private to prevent scammers from copying it  which I find unconvincing. But if you check their github, you will see that even the iOS version hasn't been updated for more than three years.

Quote
I don't use this wallet but if it's about the local jurisdiction on who can use it, there could be some info that can be found there if that's what Op wants to look at.
I read their ToS and I think this is the most important part:
We may still refuse to let certain people access or use Trust Wallet
MetaMask started blocking access from certain sanctioned countries and I wouldn't be surprized if trust wallet does the same.
2553  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is my wallet still safe??? on: March 18, 2022, 09:14:48 PM
As a rule of thumb, never share your wallets private keys/seeds with anyone else no matter who they are.
On the other hand, public addresses, as their name suggests, are public and meant to be shared with others. Otherwise, how could they send coins to your wallet!

Do i really need to transfer my funds to another address and dispose the wallet address that i sent? coz i dont want to expose my funds and be monitored by others.
All your transactions are stored on the blockchain which is a public ledger. So, anyone who knows your address can easoly look it up on any block explorer to know how much you own and not moving your coins will not hide it.
2554  Economy / Gambling / Re: WOWCasino.com | WOW Crypto Casino Official Thread on: March 18, 2022, 08:18:32 PM
I also cannot access the link of your site base on you original post.
If you are not from a restricted country then try changing your dns servers, it worked for other members (pls, check previous replies). Or as OP suggested contact their support via email

Tried also visiting this
Code:
http://go.wowcasino.com/bitcointalk
but I am not able to reach it. I noticed that your site has no SSL certification.
They do have a valid ssl certificate. I think it's just a typo and they forgot to add the "s". But this shouldn't be a problem because even if you click on the http link it will automatically redirect you to the https.
2555  Economy / Gambling / Re: WOWCasino.com | WOW Crypto Casino Official Thread on: March 18, 2022, 06:50:08 PM
Sorry to see that some of the latest posts on this thread have been negative in tone.

For avoidance of doubt, WOW Casino is not affiliated with CSNO. The Photoshopped photo is unfortunate, but not something within our control Sad
Imo, the negative tone is understandable and totally justified. But your clarification will certainly help clearing things up. You did the right thing by removing that award from the announcement thread and hope it will be removed soon from the website's main page.

We'd particularly like to draw your attention to the provably fair games from our latest provider Spribe such as Aviator, Plinko and Keno.
I took a lok at Aviator game and read how its provably fair system works and to be honnest I don't think it's 100% fair, but that's for another discussion.
Also, I noticed that from the provably fair settings page you can't select or copy the hashed server seed. Can you fix this?
2556  Economy / Gambling / Re: Paddleboat Mississippi, new poker site with low fees and good privacy on: March 18, 2022, 04:16:30 PM
I love the fact that you can play via email and also against bots....... such an awesome feature.   Wink
I just revisited the website to test this feature. I created a new game with friends and provided some of my email addresses. When I checked my email accounts, I didn't see any invitation emails. Not sure what's the cause of the problem, it could be a bug or just a problem with their email server/service provider. I don't think they want to keep their customers waiting for their friends who will never join because they didn't receive any invitation.
Also I noticed that if you create a new game and go back to create a new one the website hangs although it creates the table and you can access it only from the My games (!) menu!
2557  Other / Meta / Re: Problem with plugin uBlock Origin on: March 18, 2022, 10:51:10 AM
I believe it's either because of the username (promo123) or the topic title (Peer-to-Peer Advertising, and Social Network Powered by Bitcoin + Stacks).
I've never used uBlock Origin before but it looks like it uses some kind of filter to block/hide elements that contain certain words!
2558  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question on: March 17, 2022, 11:45:22 PM
Since it's closed source, I don't think anyone can tell you whether it's safe or not with total certainty. What I know is that it was created in late 2017 and since then no security issues have been reported ( pls correct me if am wrong here). So, personally I wouldn't mind using it for small amounts.
I don't know what you mean by legal! but trust wallet is non custodial wallet so no one can seize your funds as long as you have saved a copy of your seed. Even if trust wallet doesn't work anymore, you can easily import your wallet into any other app.
2559  Economy / Gambling / Re: WOWCasino.com | WOW Crypto Casino Official Thread on: March 17, 2022, 09:58:44 PM
You took the best attitude and I congratulate you for that, putting a title that is not, that would be bad for your business, but you corrected it in time, which makes you someone with a lot of courage

What you do not know is that they used the plagiarized photos to represent their team which put their creditability under a lot of questions?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5389155.msg59541302#msg59541302

As expected, WOWCasino has not replied to the thread ever since, even though he was online today. Look like the scam is busted before they even started.

It's not wowcasino who used the fake photo but the reviews website CSNO who named them as "the best new crypto casino". So this nomination is questionable, to say the least.
Wowcasino should reply and address this issue (most likely they will say they weren't aware of this and they are not related to CSNO). But the leat they can do for the moment is to remove the csno award from OP and from their website since it's causing more harm than good.
2560  Economy / Gambling / Re: Paddleboat Mississippi, new poker site with low fees and good privacy on: March 17, 2022, 08:00:06 PM
OP hasn't logged in for almost so not sure if he is still following this thread and reading our suggestions!
But in case he does, I want to know why the deposit page generates three types of bitcoin addresses (bech32, p2sh, legacy). I don't think this is needed since almost all wallets support segwit and hence only a bech32 address should be enough.
Also, when I tryed the game (for free), I noticed that the page reloads with each action (deal, fold, call..) which I found unpleasant.
