2541  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin cruise ship? on: October 10, 2014, 01:50:07 PM
Then u can organize gambling paying direct in btc abroad the cruise ship. Much better than the online thing. But that's what cruise are for right?
2542  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's make BTC stronger and increase it's value by 200% by the end of the year on: October 10, 2014, 01:46:21 PM
I thought when they organized free btc to college students some time ago and that was a great idea. We need more new people, young people especially to become adopters.
2543  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I think Pantera Capital is wrong in their $4.2 million/BTC estimate on: October 10, 2014, 01:41:34 PM
Personally i think they are right Smiley
Bitcoin will be worth over 1 milion $

That's not realistic, but I would very much welcome it because then I don't have to work anymore.

I think the max price it will ever reach, if ever, is $10,000 and that's a fair estimate.

This is why I think it is realistic...

A statistical explanation why 1BTC may equal 1M USD in future...

Value of 1BTC (around figure)

2009 => 10-2 USD
2010 => 10-1 USD
2011 => 100 USD
2012 => 101 USD
2013 => 102 USD
2014 => 103 USD
2015 => 104 USD
2016 => 105 USD
2017 => 106 USD

--- Early Adoption Ends Here and The Price Stabilizes ---

Pretty interesting... just wondering why didn't i see the trend earlier. If follows the sequence it should 10k by next year. Hmmm. While i like to be optimistic, just hope the rest increase this past few days will sustain
2544  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The problem with bitcoin is buying bitcoin on: October 10, 2014, 01:32:49 PM
Well i don't go through any of the online exchangers but i use local bitcoin to find real people around my locality and then next thing i know, its done. I stick to one single seller that i trust and never had any trouble.
2545  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the whole point of making a high quality cryptocurrency? on: October 09, 2014, 01:50:25 PM
Oh come on... you don't have to sound so dramatic though  Grin
Maybe they will blame you for blowing up their inheritance. If bitcoin crashes 50 years down the road
2546  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who's brave/stupid enough to invest their life savings into Bitcoin? on: October 09, 2014, 01:40:31 PM
Depends on what level you risk you want to take, the higher it is the more profound the impact. It can go both ways though...ask yourself are you willing to take the risk?
2547  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Something I wish newcomers to Bitcoin would understand... on: October 09, 2014, 01:32:12 PM
Maybe one thing good for me is that it is free from chargebacks... depends on how you look at it though.
2548  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: crazy idea: use bitcoin to fund construction of a solar/wind/etc power plant on: October 09, 2014, 12:51:24 PM
Maybe you can set up a firm where you get investors to contribute in btc and use the money to purchase solar powered mining rig. The returns from mining are then get paid back to the investors in btc.

Or find a company that specializes in this and jv with them. Then u don't have to worry on the tech part.

In this aspect electricity cost can be almost eliminated. Only the equipment cost (rig + solar), maintenance, .....yeah maybe viable in the long run
2549  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's next after Bitcoin? on: October 09, 2014, 12:40:45 PM
You forgot to mention the celebrity coins  Grin
Miley Cyrus coins
Cage coins
2550  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The problem with Bitcoin is... on: October 09, 2014, 12:32:46 PM
fiat

The price in fiat is too volatile.

It is too hard/expensive to exchange fiat for bitcoins.

It is too hard/expensive to exchange bitcoins for fiat.

Governments regulating the process of going back and forth from fiat to bitcoin.

Merchants driving down the price by immediately converting their bitcoins to fiat.

Fraud on the fiat/bitcoin exchanges.

Miners are cashing out their bitcoins for fiat to pay for electricity.

Can you think of any solutions to this problem?

The underlying core issue here is how the coin gets distributed. Early adopters own a large chuck which is true.
Bitcoin mining is reserved for the elite and they can do 'almost' whatever they want which causes all the issue with volatility. It would be different if everyone gets the chance to get involve in mining and get a piece of the daily take.
And to tackle the issue here may not be easy as it involves changing the whole operating concept and coding...
So if i were you, just accept the fact
2551  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Jokes! From Coins in the Kingdom on: October 09, 2014, 05:42:06 AM
Right on!!! Sends out the message clearly. Reminds me of a cartoon whereby the captain yells out to his recruits that comprises doge btc and ltc. Both answers promptly only to have the btc replying much later when they are on next two questions.  I wonder where is the cartoon
2552  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bill Gates: Bitcoin Is 'Better Than Currency' on: October 08, 2014, 12:21:48 PM
Perhaps what is more important is that we need to convince him to invest a significant portion of his wealth in btc. Then we'll get the chance to really see it boom
2553  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitCoin Scamming Business is Booming! on: October 08, 2014, 12:13:03 PM
I don't understand why we need to deal with them when there are reputable exchangers around. Probably what we need here is a list of all reputable sites we can trust.

Also if the offer is too good to be true, then think twice. Probably that is for scam investment firm promising good return for btc entrusted to them
2554  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can anyone explain how the Bitcoin cryptography works in layman's terms? on: October 08, 2014, 12:05:30 PM
A crypto currency not like any fiat currency is owned by the community

It has a blockchain or public ledger maintained by the community. Layman's all transactions get written there

Transactions are being processed by hash rate contributed by the community or otherwise known as miners

In return miners get paid from new coins and in part from the transaction fee

What else do you need to know?

2555  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Crypto community slays the 30,000 BTC Whalebear on: October 08, 2014, 11:58:06 AM
I hope he's not just taking a nap after having a huge meal.
2556  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Bitcoin Slump? Blockchain Raises $30 Million on: October 08, 2014, 11:54:25 AM
Well at least the price recovers a bit today. Hopefully that is the resistance level where investors see it as opportunity to buy. Hopefully that stays
2557  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nobel prize for Satoshi Nakamoto! on: October 08, 2014, 11:48:07 AM
Yeah but first we have to find out his real identity. Probably a nobel prize that comes with 10 mil cash reward will make him change his mind?  Grin
2558  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING: PAYPAL STARTED MASSIVE ACCOUNT BAN ON ANYTHING BITCOIN RELATED on: October 08, 2014, 11:45:47 AM
Old story. At least now we already know they will join the league.
2559  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: True distribution: limit hashing power to (for example) 1TH/s per IP address on: October 08, 2014, 11:43:49 AM
While it's a very good thought unfortunately it can't be done. At this stage any change will be considered too drastic. Plus it won't like make the problem go away. Eventually miners will find a way to overcome that. Perhaps an altcoin starting from scratch might be possible. However haven't really seen one which addresses all bitcoin weaknesses
2560  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's about time to turn off PoW mining on: October 08, 2014, 11:06:54 AM
At current stage i would say "no" because it will be too drastic. However once all the 21 million has been mined, we should consider it. I assume distribution would not be a problem by then.
