Missing the updates Fakhoury, where did you run off to?!
I'm getting worried... He'll ya, welcome back Fakhoury! Was starting to think someone kidnapped you for your BTC! ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Thank you all for your concerning and asking after me, this is my best moment ever as I really feel that you are my brothers (only child here). Crazywack : It would happen tbh, but when mass adoption happens and street thieves knows about it ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

I think the halving in July is bullish. I think at least a majority will agree with that statement. And it is only two months away.
I think it is worth the risk in investing short term, as well as long term, in Bitcoin.
So how much risk is anyone else willing to take on? Stop 401k or IRA contributions to use that money? Sell assets to fund more bitcoin (which is what I am doing)? Or the brave souls who would "charge a credit card" to bet on the increase to pay it off in short order?? Heaven forbid, someone I read is betting their house (if they were serious) on Bitcoin in the halving. Or has the upward move largely happened?
This is all in the face of some doubts with Bitcoin, like the hard fork risks and block size resolutions being advocated.
I am not a gambler, but I am going to buy more over time but am weighing what my risk level is.
What you are doing is right buddy, weighted the risks I mean, but for me, I'M ALL IN !! I think the halving in July is bullish. I think at least a majority will agree with that statement. And it is only two months away.

Good idea. Once bitcoin is a "safe" investment, the opportunity for huge gains will be severely diminished. I was just using extra money to buy bitcoins over the last few years. Instead of putting it in the stock market like I was before, I bought bitcoins. I would never back down my 401k to buy bitcoins though. Actually, I see Bitcoin as a safe asset now, why not ? If it were to fail, it would failed after few months or years, we approaching 8 years now and it's growing in a wonderful matter.

I don't understand do you only report bullish media? lol doesn't it bother anyone you don't get other sides?
Because most of the "bearish" media is FUD and BS and as you can see, I'm a permabull bitcoin investor and bitcoin believer. I believe that I'm showing the real face of bitcoin. Well said, Fakhoury. In fact, when there is hatred toward something and FUD and BS being spread, that means things are going well. Otherwise, no one would even care to bash it. Can't agree more buddy, well said !! I don't understand do you only report bullish media? lol doesn't it bother anyone you don't get other sides?

I think there is a lot of fear and fud from people trying to depress the price prior to the halving in July(?). We will see what the general consensus is after that roller coaster starts, but let's just say I am not selling either before or after the halving. There is always FUD from haters, losers and such. This has only one meaning, ( keep moving, you are doing it right ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) ) I don't understand do you only report bullish media? lol doesn't it bother anyone you don't get other sides?

Edit : Thank you marcus_of_augustus for this thread and for your bullishness in general,, expect a PM from me so soon buddy.
Well, it's my favorite time to post, it's 4:57 A.M. here, took my sleep aid pills and enjoying the bullish atmosphere.
Sorry for being, let's get in-topic.
There is a strategy in my mind that I would like to share, a lot of people asks, when shall I buy and when isn't $xxx for 1 bitcoin is too much to buy now.
I'm totally aganist this people for several reasons, but the main reason here is, buying 1 bitcoin or 10 bitcoin or even 0.1 of a bitcoin, will mwke diffirence with you on the long haul, beileve me, every satoshi counts.
There is never a perfect price to buy a bitcoin, it's always a MUST BUY.
If after 10 years from now, we will settle at $5K per price, so most probably you will afford 1 bitcoin every month, two or even three, so accumlate as much as you can and enjoy the future.
If we will settle at $50K, it will be difficult to afford 1 bitcoin, BUT what you've accumlated will me you a rich bitch.
So never say never, keep accumlating and enjoy a once in a lifetime chance to be what you wanted to be, this chance is yours, either you take it or leave for someone else.
For me, I'm holding till 2025-2030, and I know so well that I will retire in my mid-30s and enjoy life with my family.

Quit interesting but ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) Quite* Well I don't think it's possible but what was impossible before had already happened so, I don't know wether to believe in this speculation or not. What I amonly hoping is that and I think will happen anytime soon, bitcoin price will rise once again, might not be a rocket change but atleast there will be increament. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) it's not only possible, it's inevitable. If bitcoin catches on, since there's only 21 million coins, not everyone will be able to afford a full bitcoin. 1 bitcoin has to be an outrageous amount of money, too much for most persons to even afford. Otherwise we would have a paradox. You can't have 7 billion people each holding 1 bitcoin or even more than 1 bitcoin and at the same time having only 21 million bitcoin. Since we know 21 million is a hard limit, if bitcoin becomes popular it will be insanely expensive. So expensive that most people can only afford a few mills (1/1000th of a bitcoin) and some people might not even be able to afford that. There are only two options: 1) Bitcoin catches on and becomes widely used around the world (it seems like this is in fact happening, although it will take a few more years to really catch on). And therefore bitcoin will become insanely expensive. 2) Bitcoin will remain a nerd-club only permanently and the mainstream will only use fiat (or perhaps a different crypto, but for some reason not bitcoin). In this case the price will stabilize at best, and decrease at worst. I find this a very unlikely outcome, but it's possible. Remember that 20 years ago nobody even knew they wanted a mobile phone, common arguments were: I already have a phone at home or I don't want people to constantly bother me if i am going out/at work. And the same thing with computers and the internet and the washing machine. You see the pattern? People don't know they want it, but they want it, and once the realization kicks in, they will race to buy them. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi1265.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fjj518%2Fdakota254%2Fwellsedd_zps9c2c7bdd.jpg&t=663&c=NN63AEZSecWgkg)

For the past 3 months, if not more, Bitcoin has increased at a steady pace of 5% a month without huge swings one way or another.
That's almost doubling in value each year. Most banks don't even give 5% interest in a year anymore. (They might have, at some put in the 90s or so, but not today).
A lot of people seem disappointed Bitcoin is so slow and stagnant right now, but seriously, how many assets can claim a consistent 5% per month increase?
Of course at some point the pattern will break, but you know, it's not a slow growth at all.
Although considering the amount of people that use Bitcoin right now compared to how many people might use it in the near future, the price will likely get some explosive growth just to keep up with demand, but that's not really the point.
Could you elaborate more please about the bolded part and it's related with the 5% increase per month ?

April 2016 updated graphs: Cycle chart: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FwcSS0Pb.png&t=663&c=tOwNJpNdBKeR0A) With highlights: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FSXhoENa.png&t=663&c=FNTtn9LbMkQaeQ) Just cycle3 so far (linear scale): ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FcgMHE6o.png&t=663&c=LJ0qUn1zKeZCnQ) And for reference, the first two full cycles (linear - different scales): ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FhW4JmQL.png&t=663&c=7mLf681JcSznXg) As cycles go, we should be reaching the end of section D very soon. If previous cycle trends hold, the next thing would be another rise. This corresponds nicely to the halving which is upcoming (~3 months from now). Hey Hacknoid, At first I would like to thank you for this thread and for letting some novice in charts like me, understand it easily. I've few questions to ask if you don't mind. 1. When should section D ends ? And what ends it exactly ? 2. I see in your charts that you try to relate future and past bitcoin cycles together although a lot of people say that past performance of price is not a must to replicate a future performance especially when we take about TA charts, what do you think ? Thank you ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Days on end. M o n t h s o n e n d. Must be Hell... Really, it's not that bad. Bitcoin seems to be in a decent place. If we can endure about a year of a down trend, in 2014, and then about 8 months of flat in 2015 (in the $230 price territory), It feels pretty good to be floating in this lower $400s territory, even if it has been a few months. Keep accumulating seems a good plan curing these fairly slow moving times. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fvignette2.wikia.nocookie.net%2Fcreepypasta%2Fimages%2Fa%2Fa9%2FDon%27t_Feed_the_Troll.jpeg%2Frevision%2Flatest%3Fcb%3D20140209013353&t=663&c=zRObC25fMdLp8w)
