I also don't understand how the hell did Spain lose against Georgia. I saw a recap and they had a decent amount of opportunities, but they never converted in goals, it looked like bad luck to me to be honest. I still say they can be on the top4, and better to wake up in the early matches and realize anyone can win you if you not play your best.
2542  Economy / Speculation / Re: Time to buy the DIP on: June 08, 2016, 04:20:29 PM
OP was right, he made the thread at like 565 dollars and now we are back at 580 and climbing, it was an easy guess tho, the bull cycle has just started and we are going to keep going up, all those corrections are going to be very quick and they are nothing but opportunities to keep stacking all the way up.
2543  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: paypal or bitcoin? on: June 08, 2016, 03:57:30 PM
Paypal is comming to Bitcoin soon, they can't no longer keep ignoring the importance of Bitcoin, similarly, Steam couldn't keep ignoring the importance of accepting Bitcoin and we saw it adding Bitcoin as an official way to pay. Soon Paypal is adding BTC too, and maybe a couple alts too.
2544  Other / Off-topic / Re: If i give you 10 BTC what will you do? on: June 08, 2016, 03:33:21 PM
By the time OP did this thread Bitcoin has gone hundreds of dollars above in price. Of all the possible ways you could have invested those 10 BTC, it has been demonstrated yet again that buy and hold will deliver more results than anything else, considering the low risk involved.
2545  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Companies Are Stockpiling Bitcoin to Pay Off Cybercriminals on: June 08, 2016, 03:31:25 PM

Damn, this kind of thing is what makes bitcoin will never be accepted by all circles of society, and make government more incentive would prohibit bitcoin in their country.  Angry Angry Angry

That's nonsense, if you compare the amount of crime done in cash compared to Bitcoin, you will realize how it's less than 1% of crime committed in Bitcoin, compared to cash.

In any case, governments will be forced to use Bitcoin if they want to get rid of ramsonware, deal with it.
2546  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Euro 2016 on: June 07, 2016, 03:55:53 PM
Im hoping to see Portugal at least past quarter finals. It's always disappointing when you are looking forward to see Cristiano Ronaldo score some goals, but he seems to always fail to deliver a good performance in the national selection matches. We may be seeing the last days of Ronaldo in the national team so I hope he is able to deliver. He needs to win at least one euro and one world cup if he wants to go down in history as a legend.
2547  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: June 07, 2016, 03:32:26 PM
I think benzema will retire very soon.. sure he still a good player, but his position in the world of football is not good, he will soon start becoming a secondary player and will become another cannavaro. A great player but will reach a point where he just can't play anymore as good as he could.

What makes you think he will retire I don't think he will retire Al least not any time soon he still have lotto show

I think because all those cases with the justice that are making problems on his career, like right now he will miss the eurocup because of that, so this is really bad for your career, for a professional its crucial that you are relevant in euro and worldcups. This may damage his motivation and performance.
2548  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price will rebound at 500$ on: June 07, 2016, 03:30:24 PM
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1272827.0

You have been making all those kind of FUD predictions for life and getting correct 1 out of 10 times which is pretty bad, so I would stop making predictions and stop looking like an idiot consistently as Bitcoin price crushes your FUD prediction each time.
2549  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dropped to 484 in seconds on: June 07, 2016, 03:27:16 PM
Coinbase dropped to 484 for seconds

https://bitcoinity.org/markets/coinbase/USD

Bitcoinity is great because it reminds me of the old days, so im nostalgic about the layout, but lets be honest, bitcoinwisdom is the best site to check the price nowadays:

https://bitcoinwisdom.com/

They don't list coinbase as one of the default ones for a reason.
2550  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mass Adoption Crypto Currency Market Potential Index on: June 07, 2016, 03:23:39 PM
I will argue that the mass adoption of crypto currency will be on payments made on mobile phones in retail and moreover in mobile app payments. And I argue this will sweep away regulatory resistance due to its mass popularity. Thus I will argue the following index is the national only one that matters:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_number_of_mobile_phones_in_use

Note Bitcoin Market Potential Index (the full list):

http://www.lse.ac.uk/economicHistory/study/PhDProgramme/JOb-Market-papers/Bitcoin-Market-Potential-Index-Hileman.pdf#page=12

Depends more on different set of features peculiar to Bitcoin (remittances, capital control and financial crisis avoidance) because Bitcoin isn't scalable to mass payments nor instant payments yet:

http://www.lse.ac.uk/economicHistory/study/PhDProgramme/JOb-Market-papers/Bitcoin-Market-Potential-Index-Hileman.pdf#page=5

Lighting Networks is under development, but it is a complex arduous solution that doesn't scale well decentralized (but we may eventually get there with Bitcoin highly centralized, although being that this is fighting for who will control it, it will not come without battles as we've seen with Bitcoin Classic and XT versus Blockstream and the Chinese mining cartel).

Other threads didn't provide a direct link to the full list for discussion:

Most countries in the ?10 most likely? to adopt bitcoin are in the developing wo

Argentina Tops List of Countries with Greatest Bitcoin Adoption Potential

You don't understand how Lightning protocol works to claim it's centralized. It's way less centralized than solutions proposed by XT or Classic, which lead to node centralization, this is why they have fallen by its own weight and no one cares about them anymore, because at the end of the day Core devs are the better devs.

Bitcoin will scale to mass volume payments, give it time, the smartest minds are working on it as we speak.

In the meantime, no one is having serious problems using it and it is in any case a better gold already.
2551  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to teach someone about Bitcoin on: June 07, 2016, 03:15:04 PM
I have not managed to tell my friends about bitcoin in a way that makes sense to them yet, they just can't process the idea of an ungoverned monetary system, by ungoverned I mean not governed by people but by consensus algorithms. This is for some reason a way too radical idea for most people to deal with since they are too conditioned to having a guy in charge telling how things must be done.
2552  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Anonymous Enough For You? on: June 07, 2016, 03:13:01 PM
Bitcoin is not anonymous enough. We see all those threads all the time about people speculating on amounts of money being moved, this is annoying for the person moving the money, I wouldn't like to see people speculating about transactions and trying to trace them somewhere.

We need to get rid of that with confidential transactions and by-default Coinjoined transactions, then we will solve the fungibility problem.

2554  Economy / Speculation / Re: Good idea to buy bitcoins now? on: June 06, 2016, 06:19:50 PM
If OP bought when he asked for, he would be already 100+ dollars in gains per BTC, so it was obviously a good idea. Same thing will happen for the rest of people being uncertain about it.

Sometimes you have to stop thinking and start acting. Now is a good time to stop waiting for the perfect price and just get some BTC.
2555  Other / Off-topic / Re: What will you do if you own 21 BTC? on: June 06, 2016, 06:08:54 PM
One of the habits of self-made millonaires is that they don't rely on a singular source of income but rather they've developed multiple streams of earning.By the way if Suggest you save a portion of your 21btc in an offline wallet and wait after the halving when the price increases then trade it for fait to make profit.Secondly,go for long term and short term investment like investing some amount in real estate, purchase stocks, startup a business if you don't have one yet.It could be either online, offline biz.Or better still the both.I think with these tips you're way up to becoming a self-made millionaire over a period of time. Let money work for you instead of you working for money.Plan for retirement!

Real state is way too expensive, 21 BTC is not enough to buy any decent houses at the moment I think. Stocks suck... nothing clear to me that's worth holding, and business require a big initial investment and a ton of time, if it goes wrong you are screwed, of course unless its an online based business without not much investment required.

I think the best thing to do is make 21 BTC to be part of the 1 million club and hold for 10+ years and by then you should be a millionaire, then beyond 21 BTC everything you earn you put it on alts and hope for the best. With a good pump and dump you can become rich.
2556  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gaming Giant Steam Disables Bitcoin in Russia on: June 06, 2016, 06:05:04 PM
It's not surprising that a communist shithole is going to stop citizens abilities to use currencies alternative to their own state issued ones to freely buy and sell, this is not Bitcoin's fault.

But im sure that there is a way to circumvent this. Maybe creating a new account under a VPN that uses an IP address from another country should be enough, Steam would not be able to tell.
2557  Other / Off-topic / Re: The First Thing You Bought? on: June 06, 2016, 06:01:44 PM
I dont remember actually. I think I bought a domain name for a website that I was trying to do SEO with, I also bought some gift cards to buy games in Steam, other than that, I value BTC too much to spend on mundane stuff so I tend to hold it.
2558  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much money has Mike Hearn lost since he sold all his Bitcoin on: June 06, 2016, 06:00:23 PM
When he sold it was about 1/15/16 which is when he made the stupid "Bitcoin is dead comment". The price was around 435$, which means he has lost gains of 34.94 % at the current price of 587%. What an idiot. Not only he has lost the opportunity to see his wealth raise, but he killed any relevance he would have had left forever in the space. Good riddance.
2559  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is this guy Satoshi Nakamoto? on: June 06, 2016, 05:56:21 PM
Not this guy again.

No, we already talked about this, this is wrapped, sealed and done. Craig Wright had his opportunity to prove to the world that he was in control of satoshi's keys, and that would still not prove that he is satoshi anyway.

There's no point in trying to prove it, it's impossible to prove. Time to forget about this and put time into more productive things, such as buying bitcoin.
2560  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ernst n Young to Auction Victoria Police Bitcoins on: May 30, 2016, 03:44:05 PM
not a big deal. should not move the price.

hopefully it keeps it stable if anything,

price feels like it really has alot of upward

momentum, i really want it to stay sub

$1,000 cause otherwise i have to move

my estimates,

I think a lot of people will commit a massive mistake when we go $ 1,000+ again, because they will sell due being near to ATH + 1k being a classic psychological barrier, they will expect a big correction to get back in, the problem I see with this is, a lot of people will be left behind in this move, because the correction may not be as big as some people expect. Sure, there is probably money to be made by shorting BTC at 1k, but there is a lot to lose if you are left behind in the middle of the next big upraise which could be anywhere beyond last ATH.
