This scenario could be confirmed (or not) within the next week.

His charts are one of the better ones on tv

This is fine by me as most are probably figuring something big is going to happen this or next week. Either let's get this thing moving up or let's go deep down south and reverse this bitch on high volume once and for all. Even tho I'm a mid and long term bull, I'd like to get my hands on some coins at flea market prices. Like, back the truck up kind of prices.
2562  Economy / Speculation / Re: SecondMarket Bitcoin Investment Trust Observer on: April 28, 2015, 09:20:30 PM
That's a bid for 1.75 million.  Just think when the true ETF COIN comes online and a bid like that comes in.  They will have to buy 5000 bitcoins right off the open market to cover the shares.

I don't think the SEC would approve a bitcoin etf
I'm almost sure they will as I don't think that heavyweight attorney that specializes in this kind of thing has no influence/colleagues in the SEC nor would she take on a knowingly failed case just for extra money because she has a reputation to upkeep. We're not talking defense attorneys here. Wall Street hedge funds have invested in lots of garbage like mortgage-backed securities, derivatives and other worthless junk so they need something like Bitcoin in their portfolio to provide an upside to their valuations as well as something more to sell to their clients who don't want direct exposure to Bitcoin itself.

Just another load of claptrap from slapchop trying to muddy the waters for newbs and onlookers just like it is paid to do. Approaching Guinness Book of Records territory w/ sock accounts.
2564  Other / Politics & Society / Re: CNN national poll: Rand Paul 13%, Bush 13%, Ryan 12%, Huckabee 10%, Christie 9% on: April 28, 2015, 03:34:02 PM
Chuck Baldwin: Praying for Rand Paul

Make no mistake about it: the neocons are governing America’s foreign policy regardless of which political party is in control of the White House and Congress. And they have been in complete control ever since George H.W. Bush was President. And the vast majority of our congressmen and senators, as well as those who will be running for POTUS in 2016, are in lock-step, I mean LOCK-STEP, with the neocon agenda regarding foreign policy. And, sadly, so are most Christians and conservatives. It is also no hyperbole to say that FOX News is totally and absolutely nothing more than a propaganda ministry for the neocon foreign policy agenda.

For all intents and purposes, Bush I, Clinton, Bush II, Obama, et al., are behaving EXACTLY as did Germany’s National Socialists (Nazis). If the U.S. government prevails in this case (Saleh v Bush), it will mean that the Nazis’ defense at Nuremberg was RIGHT, and that the allied courts were WRONG to indict them.

Ask yourself, why would Republican senators Lindsey Graham and John McCain viciously attack Rand Paul’s foreign policy like they have? Graham and McCain went on national television last week and said that Rand’s foreign policy was WORSE than Barack Obama’s. Why would Republicans laud a liberal Democrat above a fellow Republican, not once, but over and over? Why? Because these men are governed by the same neocon (Nazi-like) agenda. Rand Paul is not. Democrat and Republican mean NOTHING. As long as he or she allows him or herself to be controlled by the neocon foreign policy, he or she will receive the approbation and support of the governing establishment. And, while what I am about to say is NOT an official endorsement, the ONLY candidate for President who, so far, is not willing to grovel before the neocon foreign policy agenda is Rand Paul. You can bet that the political and media establishments will do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING to keep Rand from obtaining the Republican nomination, because, to them, IT’S ALL ABOUT MAINTAINING NEOCON CONTROL OF AMERICA’S FOREIGN POLICY.

2565  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Baltimore burns. Why? on: April 28, 2015, 04:30:32 AM
Agreed. The police have had this coming, plain and simple. If they give out violence, they deserve violence back, had it just been people throwing rocks in the street, I might not have the same opinion that this specific riot has very little to do with fighting back against police brutality. The stores that were burnt and robbed were not owned by the police, Baltimore isn't the most white collar area, the people that worked at those stores are seriously hurting right now. The riots gave the police and media honest propaganda to discredit the actual movement.

Interesting note, In very recent history, not sure how things have changed in recent years, but Baltimore public schools had a 66% graduation rate, meaning 1 in 3 students didn't finish high school. I'm not trying to disparage or get into the whole coorelation between education, employment, and crime rates. But my point is that the people who are out of their retail jobs aren't necessarily kids. When you start burning and looting completely unrelated businesses, you threaten people's livelihoods. It's hard to justify that your cause (ending police brutality/discrimination) is right when you are hurting unrelated parties.

On an interesting unrelated note, the local news station's reporter's just said something that caught my attention. "For a city with a lot of guns on the street, it's surprising that there was no gun activity"

They are now showing an elderly women complaining about the mess in the street, and sweeping it out of the streets, because she is having enough car troubles and can't drive over that on her way to work. Definitely trying to get the audience to empathize, but again it is honest biassed reporting.
2566  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin v. Bitcoin on: April 28, 2015, 04:26:07 AM
I recommend litecoin more because it's faster and cheaper and also better distributed and with smaller blockchain.
Good points but no one trusts a noob, can ya dig or even be reasonable?
2567  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin’s Q1: Record VC Investment, Falling Prices, And Slow Consumer Adoption on: April 28, 2015, 04:23:15 AM
Techcrunch is saying that the numbers are skewed.  And basically is saying that the coindesk article was trying to make BTC look like it's booming when in fact it's not by manipulating how the numbers are presented.
Which number are skewed, the number of transactions, the VC investment numbers or the number of businesses accepting Bitcoin?

Bitpay claim to be doing more business, so that isn't a coindesk article, surely the VC investment numbers are easily trackable, and the data shown above doesn't show that Bitcoin is doing well, or do you mean that they were lying in the past, and now they are slowing bringing the numbers into line?

Read the article and read between the lines.  Techcrunch is basically saying that the 2015 "boom" in Bitcoin is fake.
Finally, the realization here is that you are trolling funk. You can get acquainted with your fellow ignored numnuts. Enjoy drony!

Well, that's about as new as the last semblance of the last future bull run. I know you're doing right but the rest of this seems like a bust. I assume most s-holders would like to have some closure at this point.
2571  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Baltimore burns. Why? on: April 28, 2015, 03:43:06 AM
15 officers injured at the moment, two hospitalized.

The rioters actually hurt the cause. People are pretty rightfully siding with the police today. The meaning of the protests are now watered down by forced association with a group of criminals. Robbing two liquor stores, a mall, a cell phone store, a CVS, and the small shops on Main Streets doesn't further people's disgust with police brutality. The rioters just gave the police a good press day, and justification of their presence.
If true, white people across the country that already had their misgivings are reinforced in their thoughts. Not trying to skew the tables in this direction but that's what happens when older white folks see what they're seeing. When the jive gets violent and spread across the news, then the cop-loving comes into play. In my mind, the cops F'd up first which led to the deviants being the face of this protester movement.

I'm still waiting for my cheap bitcoins.

that BTC-E exchange totally sucks, I cannot deal with that kind of BS.
Welcome to the 21st century in the new wild west, folks need steel stomach lining for this kind of thing and it's sad to say this. This move today shook and surprised even the best of the past of us. The average interested party probably lost money today, the above average made a few bucks and the bold super-minority made a nice stake. This might be a first from btc-e.

I've been watching it since last November or so, and I've never seen the drama that has been taking place this last month.

Well no thats not true there was that drop to 156$ around December. /January

Well it's been educational. 180 dollars I think hasn't been wasted. I've learned a few things, & maybe i'll get it back some day.

I'll still be using my debit card, but i'll just buy coin and send it to the card as I need it.

I just wanted to see if I could cover the cost of conversion with a few trades.
I think you did a good job, just stick around and check out the different opinions but only trust yourself. Today is so abnormal to say the least.

At least when its compared with Fergusson the other US riot they aren't over armed
Still a messy situation though with the curfews added and a 5 day monitoring it will be interesting to see how this turns out.
True and I don't remember how many cops were hurt during Ferguson but there's 7 of them that are injured now, including one that is unconscious. Who knows what tonight's tally will be on either side. Keep in mind, one side got free/looted booze via the CVS and are likely having a night on the town while the other is on overtime trying to keep the peace.

Bullish sign that hedge funds and likely wealthy individual investors are investing in local mining operations. Just another chink in btc's armor.

There's quite a few places aiming for that same title and I imagine that their neighbor in London will be tough to beat. However, lotsa big money on the isle shooting for new territory. The more competition the better.
2577  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-04-27] Wired: Overstock Files to Offer Stock That Works Like Bitcoin on: April 28, 2015, 02:31:52 AM
On Friday, the Salt Lake City-based online retailer filed a prospectus with the Securities and Exchange Commission that indicates it may issue up to $500 million in stock or other securities using technology akin to the online software system that underpins bitcoin. “We may decide to offer securities as digital securities…the ownership and transfer of which are recorded on a cryptographically-secured distributed ledger system using technology similar to (or the same as) the distributed ledger technology used for trading digital currencies,” the filing reads.

This past summer, Overstock’s free-thinking CEO, Patrick Byrne, said that the company was hoping to issue a “cryptosecurity” using bitcoin-like technology, and he hired both the developers and the lawyers needed to do so. Now, he and his company have taken the idea to government regulators. As Byrne puts it, he’s calling on the SEC to “sprinkle holy water” on his push towards digital securities. “This is a decision point for the establishment,” he says.

Patrick is a boss and is always trying to make moves ahead of the norm, love it and hope all goes well. One more peripheral addition to making Bitcoin the hotness that it is.

Reporters are also being attacked by the cops

A photographer for Reuters was detained and another for the Baltimore City Paper was thrown to the ground by Baltimore Police officers while covering protests over police brutality late Saturday, they said.

J.M. Giordano, the photo editor at City Paper, said he was hit in the head with multiple police shields had his "face pretty much smushed down on the ground," and sustained multiple bruises after several officers rushed at him as he shot pictures.

"They just took me down," he said.

Gov. declares state of emergency; activates National Guard

BALTIMORE —Gov. Larry Hogan signed an executive order Monday declaring a state of emergency and activating the National Guard.

Police officers were injured, stores were looted and fires were set Monday evening as vandals ran through Baltimore.

City police say as many as seven officers have been injured Monday afternoon in northwest Baltimore, where a large group of juveniles converged and began to throw bricks and other items at officers. The officers were injured with broken bones and cuts, and one was unresponsive.

The CVS store at North and Pennsylvania avenues was set on fire around 6:15 p.m. Police have asked motorists to avoid the area of North Avenue between Monroe Street and Druid Hill Avenue.
