There is a saying, trust...but verify.  One of the four blocks for coin success (in my book) is trust, and the Compassion bills go a long way to proving our funds go where they should, more could be done.

I trust the dev, I also feel that a block chain report showing when coins were sold and for how much would be a good addition to the charity proposals.  If coins were pre-sold and then the actual coins from the budget replaced them, it should be fairly easy to show in the block chain which again, would intensify the trust in the project.

I'd also propose funds be sold daily for 20 days after the superblock, 5% per day at market rates.  And I'd like to see the Foundation handling this process rather than it falling on one individuals shoulders (since the accounting could become a significant task).  And again, a block-chain report showing BBP-BTC transaction, BTC-USD transactions and the corresponding values.

Nah, the way we have it now is better.  Its sort of depressing that I have to get on here to explain it.

We already know that an expense was paid from a superblock out to one of our team members (its obvious, we had a superblock coinbase transaction emitted).
What you need is to verify that compassion RECEIVED THE FUNDS.  Thats what the PDF is for.  You dont need to go and check "a transaction was sent" anywhere (what would that prove, a fake rabbit trail exists?).
So thats the expense record.  Then you need a revenue record, showing the amount raised in the liquidation (thats our income record that we already have).  If someone doesn't trust the amount I received for the liquidation then I guess thats when people should vote for someone else to handle that function (but no one ever questioned the Amount that I liquidated 8.6 million bbp for, any month yet).

No, we don't just say that Jaap will always handle every superblock liquidation in the future (IE biblepay foundation).  We want to be decentralized.  So, again, the way we are developing is as many distinct hands as possible that can legally handle each vendor is better (IE with crosstraining and expansion).

The biblepay foundation is being birthed out of the necessity to have a tax-id number for some fiat liquidations.  Where its required we have to use it, but I think if we forced everything through Jaap that would be centralization, and would be less trustworthy than having an increasing number of liquidators.

Regarding 'adding more processes' ie 5% per day, There is a limited amount of institutional investing into HODLs and even less into biblepay until we grow our base.

bible_pay your strategy was bad  Angry  dont understand, guy with so many exp and you ruined this coin Sad  my heart crying how many mistakes you did with your plan

have you ever asked your community and told them about BBP .... how many people knows this coin,  your church knows this coin.....tell us pls ... any photos from your church...where is any banners or booklets for your church? ha?

Robert this is reality and world is hard.....so open your ears and start to listen ppl like capulo,SVKNoko, slovakia and may be other. This guys is old matadors from crypto-world
Listen to Slovakia, SVKNoko and You?  LOL:  A band of thieves who steal electric to mine biblepay.

All Ive ever heard from you three musketeers are complaints.  I've already put in 1600 hours in programming, my job is to program, its your job to get up off your lazy rump and do something.  All you have done is complained for 20 hours on the forum.

I think Capulo is excluded from the corruption however.

hehe Smiley of course i'm excluded Smiley i dont have free electricity, and this is only investment that i need to pay somehow. computers which i buy, i can sell maybe for higher price so this is not a problem. but as there is byteball, i can cover electricity bills, so it is not so catastrophic. coins... we will see, i'm now littre affraid but it allways be as on rollercoaster so if there will be support for coin i believe in brighter tomorrows Smiley)). my calculations are, that it could cover monthly costs with price about 6 sat... but i believe that in real price somewhere around 25, but we ned 3-4x more investors/miners to be stable to withstand monthly superblocks

Amen, sounds like a solid forecast.

We aren't going anywhere and will be here for the future, God willing.

As far as pictures of my church, I did tell the lead pastor about BiblePay before I moved in July, and they sort of fluffed it off.

Wow, that's a nice find, Slavino. I think some explanations are in order.

I checked the "accountability" page and this also looks really strange. The last legit invoice from Compassion seems to be from April 22nd (complete print-out of the checkout page). All the newer ones are just plain text BS-PDFs with no signature, no invoice number, not even a slight hint that any money was actually paid (it only says "total amount due"). For Bloom there isn't even a single PDF; Kairo looks legit but of course this is only a very minor payment.

So where did all the proposal payments go to? Can we have some actual payment proof from May 2018 on until August 2018? Deleting all these posts won't help, since they are saved externally.

P.S.: At the slovak guys: Cursing and foul-mouthing doesn't help either; especially not the children...

Explanations, right.  What should we look into Dave?  So when you clicked on the PDF, are you saying that its actually not really paid?

Are you saying that accountability.biblepay.org contains fake records?  I explained hundreds of pages back that people like Mike have called to see if the payments were made and they were made.

So lets see, that leaves the income side.  Are you saying the revenue record is fake?  Doesnt it match the average current price?

I'm God Fearing, and there won't be one dollar shorting God's children if I handle a transfer/liquidation and my record shows it.  Jaap handles Cameroon, I handle compassion, Andrew handles Kairos, April handles BLOOM, in a decentralized way we have split up the burden across many people.

I'm deliberately going to handle this inquiry another way.  Stick to the revenue and expense records on accountability.biblepay.org and post any legitimate question here.  Your pasting of illegitimate sanctuaries and transfers is redicules, and quite insulting.

im testing nodecheck........ best value for biblepay...... very beautiful user environment and very easy setup
@jaapgvk have we any money for PR? im still dont understand waste all money for orphans.....we need pr guru-s

i believe that bbp will be raising, but we need smart decisions (BBP has best coder ever)

Currently we don't really have any money set aside for PR. Togo asks a monthly amount of BBP. The rest of the PR-budget of the last months went to the new exchanges. There simply wasn't any more budget. We will probably ask for budget in the October superblock. But you have to realize that the value of what we are currently doing comes from the contacts that we have. We are basically getting free PR-consultation (and access to databases) that normally costs 300+ dollars an hour. So if you want to know the value of our current PR-plan: it is in the thousands of dollars.

And please, if you say that we are wasting our money on orphans, then I don't think you understand what BiblePay is trying to do.
you wanted to sell bbp for orphans.......when wont be exists ppl which will be to buy bbp, then what? liquidity will be 0$...then what?.....all coins raised only with PR ... Rob supported 339 orphans, now what? ... you dont know do marketing.Admit it. What is your professions? Are you bussines man,or marketing chief or who from BBP staff is person from marketing, advisor, economic school? haaaa? Some people laughing whom it built this strategy...

school grade from teacher: 5

Well, the idea was that we would continue to add value to BiblePay in order to attract new investors. And this would enable us to sell BBP on the market for the children. As far as I know, we hit all points on the roadmap, some even way before their stipulated dates, and Rob is working very hard on adding features. Sadly, that doesn't seem to be enough currently.

I don't want this project to fail, so if the price continues to drop, I will vote a 'no' on the current proposal for Compassion. There is no money involved in this project that I care about losing. I just do this from my heart right now. And my heart tells me that this project matters. That's why I don't want this project to fail.

I'm not blind. I agree that we currently most probably have too many sponsorships. I want that number to go down as low as it needs to go. And after that, I want sustainable growth. It that means only 1 orphan per month, then so be it.

I also don't want to ignore our investors. 10% should be 10% in my opinion. Nothing more. That 10% is our motto, and in steady conditions the market should have few problems absorbing that 10% in my opinion.

And you realize that you are part of the problem, right? All your FUD is tarnishing our reputation. I don't understand your motives, because it seems that it is your own investment that your FUD'ing away here.

I agree Jaap, Im going to vote against it too, especially in light of what Ginger told us about the Compassion insurance that we qualify for.

I just want to leave it in a little longer because our fast it still on - and God hasn't moved (in this way) on this yet.

it always was 10% to charity, but now budget is almost 20% and still not enough. 10% should be 10% every month. one month it will be 10k $, another month 5k $...
if somebody 'allocated' more orphans than 10% could cover, then it must be lowered. you simply cant create money from nothing. even if you sell all coins generated during month (~75m), you will not have enough. and next month what? all moneys should go to marketing now, few new big miners could help a lot. 10m buy for stake takes price to 20sat

We all agree it should be 10%.  The compassion proposal was entered just this one time - because I didn't want to abruptly end half of our orphans in one month.

We are going to terminate a lot of sponsorships (if we don't have a miracle soon), and our charity will revert back to 10% per month as it should be.  Most likely I'll be re-entering this months compassion proposal lower, primarily because Compassion has continuity insurance for children who are dropped from the program.

BiblePay does not recover gracefully if it loses internet connection. If it goes on for a prolonged period, say a few hours, it asks for the wallet password, then quits after you enter it. When you restart, it rebuilds the chain again.

**** NEW POLL IS UP FOR PERCENTAGE OF REWARD FOR NON BIBLEPAY TEAM MEMBERS ****

**** PLEASE VOTE ****

All, this new poll is related to our current sanctuary vote (Removing the BOINC Team Requirement).
Currently the sanctuary poll is pointing towards us removing the team requirement to give as an inrush of new BOINC users - who must fully associate their CPID with the BIBLEPAY wallet, and Fully pay the UTXO stake requirement for their RAC before they can earn a penny from BIBLEPAY.

However, we have not asked users what Percentage of reward we should give these new users who choose to not change their team.

Please vote on this issue here:

Bhavani is working on a Great Trib feature that will make index cards available for in-wallet access to Christian camps, and this will contain their 'snap to grid' longitude, latitude (IE their nearest street corner), with the ability to see these users on a map in BiblePay.

There goes Rob again with his crazy talk. Wink

Seriously though, this would be easy to do if we had a simple way to get all the IPFS attachments as a list. It'd be easy to curate thereafter and even host the web page on IPFS so it completely decentralized.

Yes, we will look like the crazy ones until the Rapture occurs Smiley, but anyway, I'm referring to a decentralized store of Christian videos yes, but with an additional twist:
Once we have our PODS running, we consider creating a list of trusted hosts within IPFS (these are sanctuary public IP addresses).
Then we upload the videos.

The difference here is that our sancs would definitely have a library of Christian videos to watch.  (In contrast to them being decentralized requiring the internet to be up).

I definitely see uses for this, as if for example you have a UPS and the power is out for a few days, any normal user could watch these important videos with their family on a projector, etc.  Some of these videos are in the pool 'external links' - please watch all of them, everyone.

We should also consider making a directory of Christian videos, and make a feature where our Christian videos are uploaded to IPFS and made available on the BiblePay network.  Make it so that during the great tribulation, if the internet is down and any BiblePay user has access to a machine within a LAN or WAN link hosting IPFS, they can watch the Christian videos.  (Maybe they will be sitting at a campfire some day with a laptop and 10 left behind Christians with nothing to do).

Bhavani is working on a Great Trib feature that will make index cards available for in-wallet access to Christian camps, and this will contain their 'snap to grid' longitude, latitude (IE their nearest street corner), with the ability to see these users on a map in BiblePay.

Although I generally feel this is a good post in most respects, I want to offer the assertion that the "1% gain in boinc participation" should not necessarily be considered way too high in  our estimations.  I would say that in most PR campaigns that would be a true statement.  However, in this case for all intents and purposes we are basically inviting users who are already paid up on the hardware and paid on the electricity to come to BIBLEPAY for only the cost of the UTXO (which is considered their asset - they get to keep it - so its not a capital expense to them).  So on the grounds that they can tinker with a new novelty item (Those that were resistant to crypto) this might be the kicker that gets them started, I would argue over a year, it is possible to gain 20% of the boinc users (IE 10,000).

This campaign is sort of an experiment, to see if we can become a seed in order to become a household name later.  Im looking at this as the difference between biblepays
stagnation (requiring us to really think out of the box to grow), or possibly gaining a massive amount of PR and growing through this experience.  This appears to me to be the Holy Grail opportunity for growth at this time for the PODC side- especially since we already do that so well.  We are great cancer miners, and great at WCG.

I do not believe the long term effect of additional boinc users is a price dump!  They can only dump the coins once while value buyers buy them once, at that point once the emission is emitted, our total supply is stable.  Another words, I view 10,000 miners with 10,000 exchange accounts as much less volatile and more stable for our price than 1,000 miners (over the long term - 1 year out+).

Anyway, I will roll with this either way, as I said I am for no double dipping and nice team stats, but I lean towards Growth at this time and feel with our blacklist feature we can prevent double dipping and make our own stats report.

I'm more concerned with those smaller folks.  It's taken me a quite a while to get to where i'm at stake-wise..   I worry flooding the market with others and "instant-on" RAC will help short-term price IF they join up.

I would like to see a rate limit on the outsiders..  If your in team BBP you get 100%,  other teams you get 10% of your RAC (or something similar).
This is how Byteball does it (and also may help them to come over and start staking with less of an up-front investiment)

This is a great idea!  We should consider rewarding 100% to Biblepay's team and 50% to non-biblepay, and that gives a strong incentive to join our team, but doesnt kick anyone else out!

Ill make this a spork setting, and we can vote on the spork fractional level for non-biblepay teams.  I think .50 would be nice.

Just want to chip in again

I said before we were at risk of becoming a 1 percent coin - that has come to pass
Huge difficulty in signing up to mine and share the rewards for the small guys

Solution

No blocks to joining or mining / stake on anyone wanting to mine up to 5000 RAC / no restrictions to heat mining / CPIDs required up to limit / other
We need numbers to come to BBP - doesnt matter where they come from

The argument some will set up multiple accts - so what? - adds up to more numbers
Maintaining multiple accts takes time and effort  - making sure RAC doesnt go over 5k to max out reward? / maintaining multiple PCs / updating wallets / etc - all add up to not being worth it
Once miners / others have a small pile of BBP - they become stakeholders - then they might want to continue building a stake - ie buy

Monthly selling of BBP needs to be done with far greater discipline
No more dumping of large blocks - I believe the agument a few superblocks ago was we are allright in the short time - just needed to obtain the months target and so dump.....
This attitude  towards selling just pisses off previous buyers who paid a lot more
Observe the last few superblocks and price action - you will see no reason to push the bid - coins will be dumped at any price - just put in a lowball bid and you will get hit

My 2c
PM

I understand your perspective on the dumps,  and this explanation is not going to make people happy, as a matter of fact it will probably upset a lot of people.

But I do say this with experience - since I ran a hedge fund at one time (I don't run it now, for reasons Ill explain after DAHF is live, but it had nothing to do with failure, it was a success til the last day of operation).  There are situations that traders run into in liquidating positions where things can get much worse the following day (think companies go out of business, leveraged buyouts, government intervention, all kinds of systemic risks, broker risk etc), where it is prudent when one wants to liquidate a position, that needs to be done and logged and finished.

In the case of BiblePay and Compassion, we have a $12,000 per month bill to pay by the 21st every month.  We have 8 million or so BBP to sell between the 15th and the 25th (roughly) every month.  I know you are of the opinion that we should not sell those BBP for less than a psychological threshhold.  However, my procedure is to span the sell out over as many days possible, but all coins for this month need sold this month.  I'm not of the camp that believes we can start borrowing from rich people here to pay the current bill, keep long accounting records, pray that our price recovers by next month, sell last months coins one month late, because I know what this leads to:  Eventually you will have a 3 month downturn where we are stuck with a $30,000 bill in arrears, and our price is 6 satoshi and we have 24 million coins in the treasury to sell.

So for this reason, the best practice is to liquidate each months holdings at any price and start fresh every month.

The real solution here is to educate our buyers that they need to put in limit buy orders below the market every month and buy up those cheap coins.

Actually if you're mining at below the cost you could be buying, you should be buying...that is the real art.

Why pay for electricity on your servers when you can generate more BBP by buying directly...

Yes, thats part of a free economy, (dollar cost averaging into your position), but buying or mining with a 'projected target value' is being bullish because you believe you know something that is not currently priced in.

No there aren't,  the code continues the same at 69000 and we don't have a mandatory scheduled for 1.1.4.8's features yet, so nothing is scheduled to be changed in prod other than "possibly" removing the team requirement (although remember we still require Signed boinc association, so there is no loss of security in that respect).

Could you point me in the direction of someone competent enough to name ONE so I can speak to the individual, and name the item you are referring to?

If you haven't already, please vote on the Team Requirement proposal.  I'd hope the following would sway a no vote, but if you still feel yes (killing the team requirement) is justified, then please vote!

TLDR: I fell it's unlikely we'd gain more than 1.5M Team RAC at the most wildly generous numbers. This would, if fully staked, add only 30M BBP demand for the coin, which is roughly 1 month of average volume/15 days of newly minted coins.

So, here is my logic on why removing the Team Requirement is not going to help.

First off, as a holder and big PoDC miner of BBP, there are two conflicting thoughts that present before considering the actual primary issue. The first is if the BBP Team Requirement (which I'll save some typing and call BBP-TR) is removed, but we also ban other coin teams (basically Gridcoin and Byteball) then one of two things could happen. One, nothing. Two, we could spike our RAC. A spike in Team RAC would make mining unprofitable for most if not all current users unless you had some unique advantage such as dirt cheap power. So the current miners, like myself would drop out. So we'd need a HUGE spike to offset this. If we did see a huge spike in RAC and that corresponded to a similar long-term increase in price, then as a big holder, I should welcome this. Sure I wouldn't be mining anymore but, in silly terms, if price went up 100x because the RAC went up 200x, then I'm coming out great!

The issue is this. Look at Byteball. There is no team requirement, in fact wasn't even a Byteball Team for the longest time, and the benefit for being on the team is still small. I can account for most of the top 10, which is about 50% of the distribution. I'm pretty close to the top 10, in fact most of the top 10 is Team BPP, but I'd wager the rest of the other BBP users don't know much about it either and are either 1) cashing out when they mine or 2) hoping for a price increase since this is basically "free" coins.

So the question becomes, where are all the team members from Hard[OCP], US Navy, Oracle, Overclock Forums, etc? Why are they not participating in Byteball? I don't see them in any large numbers (at least in coins rewarded, since again, I've got most the top 10 covered and the top 10 is about half the reward), Byteball is incredibly easy to set up. It's trivial enough I think my beginner computer friends could get linked to Byteball following the instructions. However, none of them would be able to figure out our coin without help, and then the issue of buying crytpo to stake, would end that discussion. So I don't think (if we block Team Gridcoin and Team Byteball) we'll see many new users from this, since the most crypto savvy ones are going to be blocked. And the rest of the teams, as evidenced by their non-participation in Byteball, which has far less complexity, are not interested. Or maybe because in part, most of the big teams, don't do much CPU BOINC.

But that thought aside, let's look at some very hard numbers. If we could get a 1% conversion rate, that is, by removing the BBP-TR, we would get 1% of the overall user base to become BBP users and fully stake their mining, what would that really mean? (and for the record I think 1% is way too high). At R@h, we're anywhere between 15-20% of the daily work done, Gridcoin is usually about 10%. Yesterday the two teams combined accounted for roughly 29% of the work at R@h. So if we got 1% of the remaining 71% that would be 225K RAC. At World Community Grid, we're about 3%, Gridcoin is about 4.6% and Byteball is about .5%. So between all three projects we're basically 8% of the total. Again, if we could get 1% of the remaining 92% that's about 1.2M RAC. Even rounding up we're looking at, again in my opinion of the best case, roughly 1.5M RAC added to our team. That would create demand for 30M BBP to stake, which is roughly 1 month of our average volume, or about 15 days worth of newly minted coins. How would that affect us? Who knows, but probably not by more than a few satoshi of value in the medium term.

In the end, the market is poor all around. We've overextended our support of orphans given the fall in price. Removing the BBP-TR is removing one of the potential major marketing points of the coin, the hard and fast numbers of how many people we've added to the cause of scientific research. How many we can lay exclusive claim to for being on BOINC. We're the number 3 team ALL TIME at Rosetta@home, set to be number two by mid-October. And number one in RAC there. We're number 89 all time at World Community Grid and should break into the top 50 by the end of the year, all while being the fifth highest there in RAC. Giving up that potential marketing angle for what I suspect will be a pittance of users seems not worth the effort. And using that programming time (however small) seems to be a poor use of resources in an increasingly lean time.

" There are many serious vulnerabilities in the biblepay code. Get out while this coin still has some value "
This pray showing at block 69000...anyone see it ?

No there aren't,  the code continues the same at 69000 and we don't have a mandatory scheduled for 1.1.4.8's features yet, so nothing is scheduled to be changed in prod other than "possibly" removing the team requirement (although remember we still require Signed boinc association, so there is no loss of security in that respect).

Could you point me in the direction of someone competent enough to name ONE so I can speak to the individual, and name the item you are referring to?

THIS IS FUD!  THANKS FOR THE FUD!

Hello,

Does anybody know how the PODC Updates works? I the past, I was having 4-6 Updates every day and now I have only one (+ some others that I force manually just in case).
Why is the number of updates not consistent? What is the minimum number of updates per day to receive PODC payments?

Thanks!

Hello

Are you counting Rosetta or WCG or both?

Rosetta

And your mining machine is running 24/7 ?

You only need One to actually reach the network in 24 hours to be paid (as long as you have been sending at least one per day).

But our network spork setting is designed to send 4 per 24 hours.

The question was why he has only one podcupdate when he is running 24/7

No, it wasn't.    But thanks for quoting the question.

The minimum number is not consistent if you don't have enough MATURE stake balance in 'exec totalrac'.  You can only stake if you have coins older than 24 hours to stake in coin control.  Secondly you need to keep your miner actually running and wallet passphrase has to be entered correctly when you boot.  Its obviously working for our other 2,400 users.
