S2 = piece of crap...i would say away....far away.
2562  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner Batch 4 - DISCOUNT VOUCHER on: May 02, 2014, 04:51:48 AM
why would anyone want to buy these broken messed up pieces of shit? with horrible software , bad LCD screens, and no support?

have you seen some of the pictures of what people are getting delivered to their house?

no thanks man...i dont need any broken defective crap coming my way, and neither should you!
2563  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) Batch 4 is open for sale on: May 02, 2014, 04:43:45 AM
I guess I have to scroll through 115 pages to find out how to change password on S2.

no problem, just call bitmain im sure he will be more than happy to help you..oh wait scratch that...if he knew how to help you it wouldnt have come all fuc!%$ed up in the first place...good job bitmain...keep up the good work, im sure you will  sell a lot more of these pieces of crap to people and expect them to figure out out re-engineer your piece of shit.

I say dont spend another dime on his useless crap until he compensates everyone for their losses, and not by giving them a measly $400 S2 store credit so you can buy another door stopper.

I say BOYCOTT!!!!!!!!!! the "man"  that might get his attention, and keep his monkey's in line, and quality test his product before selling it to you after he mined with it for a month before wrapping it up and stomping on the box before sending it to you.

why do you think each batch drops $500 a week or so, beacause when he is done mining with them and the difficulty rises he sells them a little cheaper tricking you into thinking you are getting a good deal when you will NEVER ROI on those used pieces of shit, if they come to you in one piece and actually turn on.

hey bitmain, why not send each of your S2 customers 6 S1's as compensation for this?  those seem to work well.

but i wouldnt hold my breath as he is a greedy bastard, and is only looking out to screw you at this point....go ahead and RMA the unit so you can be out 2 weeks worth of mining while his engineers diagnose what is wrong with your unit and maybe give you what he thinks may be a "fair" compensation for it.....ha! what a joke.

you had a good reputation and business...i dont think so anymore...JUST SAY NO!  he will get the message when no money comes into his wallet.

what a jerk.
2564  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) Batch 4 is open for sale on: May 01, 2014, 08:44:37 PM
I am not certain what Bitmain/Bitcointalk policies are regarding coupon usage so if this violates any terms consider it null and void.  I have a $400 coupon for an S2 that I will not be using.  If anyone is interested PM me and maybe we can work something out to both our advantages.  I live in NYC (Staten Island) and work in North Jersey if that helps.

I have 10 of them and don't plan on using them at all.

Why would you? so you can get another broken piece of crap in the mail?

Maybe this time Monkeys wont jump up and down on your box and throw it over their shoulders on tho the plane.

If it does actually work, you are lucky and should pray to the gods for receiving an expensive overpriced item that "should" work but for 85% of the time for users doesnt.

Those coupons are his way of saying F-U go ahead buy more of my crap, since i lowered it a little.....but people are stupid and they will buy, and they will be dissapointed, and they will complain.

But in the end they will have a nice looking box with some shiny pieces of metal on it to display on their mantle and can turn it on to show their friends how fast the fans spin. (unless you get one of the ones the monkey jumped on, then you will just have a pile of broken parts to show off).

Wow, I must have a crystal ball!

Or, I just know how this company works, they are totaly customer oriented.

I was one of their first customers on day one, and have been satisfied ever since.

I am definitly looking forward to your new items coming up as im sure the rest of the customerbase is as well.

Keep up the excellent work guys!
2567  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) on: April 30, 2014, 12:20:15 AM
Yes i know, i mined the coins with S1's to buy the S2 on 16-03 for the second batch.
The S1's where great but this  Huh Huh

I hope it's something i can solder back, that won't be any problem for me.
Even if it's a bga or something like that.

On the controller board are 5 led's, only one of them is green.
it's the led with R41D5 marking next to it.
Any thoughts?

look up support for the beaglebone black since that is the control module. its possible you need to swap in a new controller and/or sd card (probably <$50)

The real question is: why should anyone have to swap out anything for an expensive piece of equipment that was obviously poorly tested, and used a shitty microSD card in the first place.

Also stop hiring monkies to throw your packafges onto your planes....do they think there are pilows inside an 18kg box?  what a stupid system, at least work out the delivery part so all the units dont come to people in pieces.

Fragile, or this side up, doesnt mean shit to these carriers, even if they could read them or understaing which way an up arrow is suppposed to go.  Put it in chinese then, but I dont think it will make a difference.  seems like whoever he is using to ship these units is the cheapest carrier he could find as seen in one of theose animated gifs i saw a while back where the monkey is tossing these large heavy boxes carelessly on to the conveyor belt with half of them falling off.

Good work Bitmain, way to kill your entire business operations in one clean sweep.

Maybe you shoulod lower the price again next week and try and get some more suckers to give you money.
2568  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: GAW Miners- Gridseed Blades on: April 29, 2014, 11:54:29 PM
Nice update to the UI but did anybody's blade stop hashing and unable to restart it?

Having the same issue here for a a week or two, blade often goes offline and won't restart.  Mine is offline as I'm writing these lines, wrote to support 2 hours ago and still waiting for the blade to come back to life or someone to reply/acknowledge the request.

Support has been A++ from the start but has been quickly going down the drain in the last week or two, it's getting hard to get replies support ticket anymore and if you try to call their phone number it goes straight to voicemail (they use to pickup the phone).

I understand they might have small hiccups (power, software, etc) with setting up all these blades on very short notice but if you can't handle the amount of support tickets coming your way simply tell us and we'll likely avoid opening a ticket knowing you're working on it.

I filled up a compensation form 2 weeks ago and never heard from it, I also subscribed to the double hash promotion (before the deadline) and never got any payment (yes, I've contacted support).

Lastly, as a suggestion, have someone answer your phone, even if it's only a receptionist telling people to write to various email addresses (sales, support, ceo, etc).  A voicemail generally makes people uneasy and definitely sends the wrong message to current/potential customers.

I would hold out a bit longer before making too many assumptions.

I know they are working on updating the UI which is not that easy of a task and is time consuming and tedious.

Moving to a new Data Center as well, and getting it all together to keep their custoimers satisfied is also a big feat.

But yes, more communication would be better, but I'm sure there is a reason for it, which they will surely explain....I have faith that they will sort it out and keep their customers happy in the end.  Just keep the faith.
2569  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) on: April 29, 2014, 11:30:10 PM
I have a Antminer S2 from the second batch, it was all fine for a few day's after putting the blades back like most of you Undecided
Until today, i restarted the damn thing and now there is nothing but blue on the screen.
The original sd card seems to be fine, new msd card with a new image does not help.
I even tried with all the blades out, only one and half of them, still nothing Huh

Do you guy's know what could be wrong?

Yes i do...Bitmain is selling defective broken pieces of crap to people, and people are still buying them in hopes that it will work one day.
And he lowers his price every week so people think they are getting a deal, when all they are getting is a box of broken used parts, and a crappy OS interface.
He did well on the S1, and is using his success on that to sell this junk to people who think it will be as solid as an S1.

I guess if you are good at fixing broken parts and figuring out how to solder parts back together, then this would be the deal for you.
Just ahve a bunch of class 10 microSD cards handy for when the OS crashes.
2570  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) on: April 29, 2014, 09:25:03 PM
Am I supposed to take out this foam? Is it possibly going to catch fire if I don't?

P.S. Nothing's perfect, I got an Australian cord. Where would I find a heavy cord to run this thing?

Foam is fine to leave in.

Just buy a 15amp rated 120volt power cord and you'll be fine. They will look similar and thicker than the crappy 10amp computer monitor cables.
2571  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: GAW Miners- Gridseed Blades on: April 22, 2014, 02:36:49 AM
GAW is keepin it real folks.

No lies, or misleading the customers, they are tellin it like it is, which is refreshing.

Not promising something tomorrow like other companies do and then leave you hanging for a week or more with 0% communication.

I applaud them for being brave enough and confident enough to display their honesty and transparency by informing their customers when they should realistically expect things to be either shipped or hosted, and status updates all along the way with their power upgrades and temporary downtime's (which they are offering compensation for by the way).

I can honestly say I have never seen that before!

Way to go guys!

TEAM GAW FTW!.....again Wink
2572  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: GAW Miners- Gridseed Miners 84.95 on: April 18, 2014, 06:14:32 PM
Yes, all 10s will be up today. But you need to order the hosted pack

Hi, I am sorry to inform you, but there was a typo on this product. While it still includes 120 singles like the listing says, the over hash will equal 42,000 KH/s not 52,000 KH/s. Are you ok with this, or would like a refund?

I would like my refund, please issue it.

Thank you
WH

I saw that too but it is still a great deal at 42Mh/s wish I could afford one Smiley maybe soon.
2573  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: GAW Miners- Gridseed Miners 84.95 on: April 18, 2014, 06:03:43 AM
Thanks TEAM GAW for going above and beyond as always!

My Blades are up and hashing away in the UI, as promised, and I am a happy camper (hasher)

Who else is going to get your stuff up and running at 1:00am and help troubleshoot any issues along the way? some guy in a basement in china, doubtful.

How about he CEO of one of the top mining equipment sellers in the world? Yup, that's right, and he even stayed on the phone with me until it was all squared away.

Now that's what I call support!

GAW FTW!

Thanks again guys!

Is there a replacement available for a burnt out or low light LCD screen on the batch 1 S2's?
2575  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) on: April 14, 2014, 08:32:59 AM
wow, long thread, wont lie skipped to the end- so where is the best price on a 1th/s miner kinda interested
These guys have them for sale right now, and the price definitely right!
Plus they have excellent customer support from my experience buying gear from them:

7.4 BTC for a device that might mine less than 5.3 in the next 100 days if every diff change for the next 100 days is only 15% ...
No wonder hardware vendors can do so well, people like losing BTC ... ... ... ...

It will return $2000 after 6 months with 17.50% diff average increase, including electricity.
That's 4.49 BTC at current price so 2.91 BTC loss.
So the cost of "having fun mining Bitcoin" will be $1296.
So much fun, yeah !

Hey, I'm with you...no one likes the state the Bitcoin is in right now..I'm sure we all wish it was still back up at $1200. But unfortunately it's not, and nobody is celebrating about it. That doesn't mean that people who enjoy mining will stop or should stop because a few people are telling them it's not worth it...maybe it's not, maybe it will be, I don't have a crystal ball.

But like I said before no one is forcing anyone to buy gear from any source or to get involved in mining. It is a long term game if you trying to make a profit, if you can make a profit. Otherwise people are simply enjoying the whole phenomenon of mining and god forbid they like doing it as a hobby or whatever.

If you aren't enjoying "having fun mining Bitcoin" then don't do it, you can always go outside and ride your bike Smiley I think that's still free.

Well the batch 1 S2 in today's coin value is approx. 10 BTC
So are you saying one is better that the other? Or just a general statement in lack of ROI on miners in general?

Not sure why it is difficult to see ... but ... I replied to your comment ... that's why I quoted your comment ..........
The relevant part of your comment was
Quote
the price definitely right!

No idea who you think it is right for at gaw, but clearly it is right for gaw, not miners.

In fact I cannot even understand the reason for your post.
Do you have something to gain for gaw's sales?
or do you simply have no idea how bitcoin difficulty works, the recent history of it and the known up coming mining devices due now and soon?

You are misunderstanding what I am saying. I don't care who it's right for or not, all I know is people are simply looking to get 1TH/s miners, and they will continue to look for and purchase them, wherever they can get one, just like I did.

I bought an S2 for full price on batch 1, even batch 2 is still pretty expensive, all I was saying is that from my experience buying scrypt mining gear from GAW, I know that they are a reliable company....and if you took a second to realize that what I was referring to was the comparison in price from the S2's batch 1 and 2 to what their price is currently for a 1TH/s miner, you would realize when I say "the price definitely right!" I am talking about if you were looking at the current available options for 1TH/s miners that you could buy today not in 5 months.  Plus if you actually took the time to read the posts you would have seen that I was simply answering someone question of "so where is the best price on a 1th/s miner kinda interested" so don't assume things unless you take the time to read up on previous posts.

You mentioned "do you simply have no idea how bitcoin difficulty works, the recent history of it and the known up coming mining devices due now and soon?" of course I do, and of course there will always be bigger and better things down the pipe, but I was referring to what is available now if you were in the market for a 1TH/s miner..that's all.

As far as your accusation "Do you have something to gain for gaw's sales?"  the answer is no I do not. I am not employed by them, but am simply a satisfied customer, and enjoy the fact that if I have to call them for any issue someone always picks up the phone or answers my emails...basically I am just a loyal customer who likes the way they do business, and to tell you the truth if they had the 1TH/s miner up on their website before the S2, I would have purchased one from them simply for the fact that I know from experience that if I had a problem they would go out of their way to help me out however they could. Unlike the disaster going on here.

So sue me for giving someone a basic answer to a basic question...It seems as you are the one who has a problem with these miners being sold, but to tell you the truth, I don't care. No one is forcing you to buy one Smiley

People want what they want and are going to buy it whether it makes them an ROI or not, some people just like having fun stuff to play with and makes them happy to be a part of something...how do you rate the ROI on that?

Have a good day!
Smiley

Hi, I'm new on this site, but from what I have been reading so far, it seems as if you have happy customers which to me is important if I am going to spend a lot of money on equipment.

I am still looking through a lot of posts right now, and seeing what people are offering, but so far you guys seem to have your shit in order.

I am keeping an eye on you guys for now before I make any decisions.

Hi thunderdome and welcome to the forums.

As one of GAW's first customers, I can say with confidence that you won't be dissapointed with their service. But by all means shop around, and check out the competition, it is your right to do so. I have a feeling you will be back though Smiley

Welcome!

Does this firmware update fix the change admin password error issue? or is there a different workaround for that?

Thanks!
2580  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: GAW Miners- $499.95 Gridseed Blades for existing customers! on: April 13, 2014, 01:36:54 PM
website looks good and professional with lots of payment methods but I got couple of questions,

do you guys at GAW miners produce your own 1 TH/s miners??? Roll Eyes http://www.gawminers.com/gaw-miners-1t-bitcoin-asic-miner/  is it a dragon miner or something else branded as "GAW MINERS 1T BITCOIN ASIC MINER"

where is the support page for this product ( i.e link to a back up img on the sd card in case corroupt read/write happends)?,  has anybody bought and actually received these? also these are on the expensive side since you can get pretty much a similar miner at the same speed with lower prices, here are couple of examples..
2.5k https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=409701.0
2.9k https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=561706.0
2.6k https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=514758.0

also who the heck pays 650$ for antminer S1?  Roll Eyes Shocked

might get more customers if you guys at GAW miners offer better deals on your sha miners.

You're joking about these being on the expensive side, right?

I am assuming you saw this link from the ant miner S2 disaster thread.

How much were those selling for again? What was it $3999 for batch 1 and $3599 for batch 2 or something?

I've been following that thread very closely since I did purchase a batch 1 and got it running, but good luck getting in touch with anyone on the ant miner team and I say team meaning bitman.

And as for your links, why would you post those? Are they any better than the s2 you have or were probably trying to get and couldn't?  If those are so great, why not pick up one if those and call it a day?

The difference here is that you are dealing with a company who will actually answer the phone when you call and return your emails when you send one.

I'm sure they will answer your questions about the 1TH/s miner if they haven't already.

Good luck, I hope it works out for you one way or another Smiley
