2561  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Counting cards ? Reducing odds of losing ? Is it real ? on: June 09, 2016, 02:52:55 PM
It is definitely real thing which works. The main thing is everyone simply can not count cards during tough situation. There are plenty of players who has ability has because of this they make money most of their bets. This is when you are in physical casino but online is really hard to apply this strategy of counting cards.

I wonder how exactly its done. I have heard that people pace their fingers like a spider when they count and must be very fast. I mean the cards go through so fast. I have also heard of dishonest casinoes adding another deck.

Counting cards. We all have heard about it, most probably we all have seen it on TV. Apparently casino owners don't like it. But exactly how useful is counting cards. I saw it on American dad the other day while watching Netflix and it got me thinking and I become very interested.

Is card counting advantageous ? On paper it certainly sounds very good.

Is it simply a myth ?

If it is real/true how much advantage do you actually get if any at all ?
It's definitely real and casinos don't like it and afaik they can remove + ban you from the casino if they find out.
Have you not heard about the MIT blackjack team? There was a movie about it.

You can find out more on the wiki page:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/MIT_Blackjack_Team

I know you can be banned haha uptight casino owners, but that's about all i know. Thanks for the link it helps alot and answers many questions. It is so very interesting. I think i will watch that movie too. Thanks again Smiley

interesting method never heard this counting cards but i just watching it the video just now here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHqk-YchWCM
This is only works in blackjack? the normal odds is 2% so if you use counting cards it will drops to 0.5% or little tiny ods..

I'm really bad at blackjack xP

Most people think that counting cards is memorizing the order they are in and exactly what has been played/still need to be played. This is not true. To count cards you need to remember 3 basic rules:

10+: -1
7-9: 0
2-6: +1

That's it. When a deck is shuffled, the count is 0. For every card that is played, add the cards value (-1, 0, +1) to the count. For example if a jack is played, -1 from the count, or if a 2 is played, add 1 to the count. when a decks count is very high, it means there are many more high cards left in the deck which makes it more likely for the house to bust.

So how hard is it to go: 0+1=1
1+1 =2
2+1=3
3+0=3
3+1=4
4-1=3
3-+1=4

Edit: This is applicable to blackjack. I'm not 100% certain how it works for poker, but I'd assume it works something similar.

How does one count cards anyway ? I think it is better with a friend ? Also can the same be applied online ?
2564  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: PokerFace ? on: June 09, 2016, 02:06:52 PM
Takes more knowledge of betting patterns to learn your opponent as that is the only variable you can get from an opponent online.

So i guess it's a matter of learning through observation and expeirence.

A lot of pro players wear sunglasses why do you think they do so?
IMO its all in the eyes. The rolling Roll Eyes happiness  Cheesy
some emotion, just by being a human can not be eradicated.
And this is where cool shades come in to play  Cool.
Online gives those shades to every one so the factor of poker-face is no more.
I think it makes the game a bit harder and soulless but just like Legitpoker said
betting behaviour observations makes a difference.

Yes they wear glass but you can tell by their lip curling or twitching etc. I have learnt that test have been done and it is actually impossible for a human to hide facial expression as it happens naturally as a reflex action, though im sure with time you can learn to fake it but even then.

I was wondering. In online poker you can't see anyone so there is no PokerFace like offline poker. What sort of impact does this make on poker ? Does it make it more difficult or does it make it easier ? I know for people who can't hide that online is better but what about those who are good at keeping a poker face and reading other players faces or body language ?

This question is pretty much for advanced players with at least a few months expierence.

Online poker is very easy for manipulation. When you sit on cash game you never know are people you play against work together or not. Or its just one guy with multiple accounts.
In live poker its much harder to trick people around, its possible but with certain skills and talent. For online poker you just need to know how to make bew mail and account..

Live poker is much better in my opinion, and of course emotions works more when you take cards and chips in your hands, and not stupid mouse.

Hehe we should start our own little group we all put in the same amount and share a % of winnings. Will it work though ? Is it a good idea ?

guys dont use this type of fake saite. be careful Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry
Really man? I think you're wrong! If you want to gamble, take the risks and always remember that when you go to the casino or online betting sites, remember that the HOUSE always RULES. You just had a bad karma that day because you still don't know how to play bustabit, and like you said, you did it for testing meaning you're new at bustabit, Give up now on gambling now man. :3

I know right. He is not even giving very good reasons. $500 to "test" noni don't buy that story. If you tests its more like $1 why do you need a lot to test you can even bet 10 bits at a time to test. I'm not sure how fair it is though. I never really trust these sites fairness rating.
2572  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Giving up gambling is not easy on: June 09, 2016, 09:39:11 AM
Hi guys and girls! After making quite a lot of money then losing it and crying about not hapfmthe afternoon I have decided to give up gambling for good.  Its not for me in have a much too addictive personality. So now I just plan to work for casinos but not gamble.

The thing is you know you should cash out but you always want just that little bit more and then u lose the whole lot. I'm stupid and greedy. Right after I lost i put more in and doubled it then I went all in and lost it. So yes u can make a killing gambling with such a small about like a few dollars but then u lose all u make and waste a lot of time and energy and end up getting upset. Also i shake like mad when I gamble and I hate that. I tremble. When I lose I can't believe what the screen is telling me.

So any thoughts ? Ways to stop ? Ways to gamble with play money ? Maybe there are dust ga!going casinoes I can use? U know just for fun and for the fix. Smiley

No one is saying quitting gambling is easy but you can try at least. My suggestion is to play with the faucet money only or with some promo money they give you but never with your own money. That's for starters and then you get bored and quit it for good. )
That's not necessarily the way to do it.

Playing with money that you don't deposit can entertain you for about 5 seconds, but when you need to wait for money to come in, your patience dwindles and that leads to problems in the future. Once you have money that you can deposit, you most likely will do so just to sate your cravings. Even play money doesn't help: there's nothing to be gained. Although you're addicted to the act of gambling, there still needs to be a perceivable goal to attain - and fake money won't help.

That's true. I doubt anyone would gamble if no money was involved. Its kinda boring without anything to win. With fake money there is no reason to come back and you don't really care if you play badly either since its not real. You right about deposited, if there is money around you probably will gamble it. I guess that's how the sickness goes.
2573  Economy / Gambling / Re: tell me best trustworthy dice betting sites on: June 09, 2016, 12:55:41 AM
They pretty much all the same. You should visit the ones big gamblers use, I doubt they would play on a site that cheats.
