2561  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: STRAT IS A SLEEPING GIANT ! on: December 21, 2017, 11:25:44 PM
It´s great to hear that so many people are of the same opinion, that STRAT is good long term coin to hold.  This project has definite potential moving forward, but we may need to be patient to see the returns we are looking for.

i agree with you! and have you seen the price of strat today? it is getting higher despite the fact that bitcoin is going down. i think it means a lot. and it shows the strength of the coin
By the way did you notice that it's very stable despite btc goes up or down, at least $ rate. I think we are still in accumulation mode and soon we will see some serious mooning.
Waves followed the exact same pattern when Bitcoin rallied to $24k on Korean exchanges about a week ago, because Waves was about to release its new wallet, platform and NG protocol.

So the fact that Stratis is going strong despite Bitcoin dropping means that we'll see a massive increase as we get closer to the release of the ICO platform in 9 days.
2562  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I quit trading on: December 21, 2017, 11:19:51 PM
I quit trading because i am a victim of scam, Its my hard earning money for 3 moths and ends up to ZERO. My account in bitcoin broker was hacked and from that time. I am totally disgusted which my money are supposedly allocated for my debts:(
Never keep all your money on an exchange. Sorry for your loss.
2563  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 21, 2017, 11:14:27 PM
I don't know any old peeps in crypto spending a dime on BitCH. It's just astroturfing by shills for hire and their following of poor fools.

You seem to be conflating your myopic perspective with objective reality.
Huh, so perfect vision is considered myopic now? Interesting.

How odd to encounter one so proud to tout their own ignorance.
Funny you might say that. I've just been thinking the same.

Luxury items are bad, but not as bad as cigarettes and renting instead of having a mortgage...
Depends on the luxury good. Some foods and spirits are experiences well worth having.

2567  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] SONM: Supercomputer Organized by Network Mining on: December 21, 2017, 10:45:14 PM
I still dont know why bittrex or bitfinex wouldnt add a coin like this. The volume there would make this thing popout. Many investors dont even know about sonm. They will see it when it reaches big exchanges.
This has been discussed a few times already. I think main reason behind it is because of it being considered a financial token that pays dividends, SONM needs to prove Bittrex it doesn't qualify as one.

In the last weeks Bittrex probably has other problems than new coins to list, they just can not cope with the load. Hopefully they get this quickly under control.

Bittrex is keeping me away.
I would stay away from Bittrex anyways.

If CryptoKitties can congest the Ethereum network, how could it hold a world-wide computing service?
They discussed this in the YouTube Q&A. They might even consider moving to Waves once they implement smart contracts (since Waves can handle 10 to 100 times more transactions per second than Ethereum currently can). But it would be quite strange if Ethereum didn't upgrade at some point to be able to handle more volume.

One possible solution for Ethereum is Raiden. i had some RDN for a short period but i think i will get some after we moon with SONM Wink
Do you think we'll move up even further during Christmas, or when do you expect moon? What's your target and reasoning?
2568  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: December 21, 2017, 10:44:24 PM
can anybody tell me when eth will become pos instead pow and how this change will happen?

Been wondering this as well. I don't think I've seen a date set in stone anywhere yet though.
2569  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 21, 2017, 10:43:15 PM
Just bought more BCH and LTC. I have plenty of BTC and other alts. First time my BTC stash is under 40% of my crypto holdings. I'm all about diversification...

At this stage there are more old school bitcoiners that sank their battleship in shit coins than there are old schoolers left.  You have the goose that lays the golden egg and you are willingly giving it up.  Not a smart idea.  The internet is a winner takes all economy.

You can't see into the future so I don't know how you can claim it's not a smart idea. So far it has worked out and if I exchange my alts back to BTC I'd have more BTC.

Diversifying is not only smart. It is usually more profitable. Get with the program.

I have insurance, which is mostly Monero and ETH and less than 10% of my portfolio.  This protects me in case of a wipe out event in Bitcoin. But we both know that when the first Bitcoin ETF is announced early next year, Bitcoin will go vertical and your BTC/Alt pairs will collapse, including my Monero and ETH pairs.

I disagree that we both know that will happen. The only alts I own are mostly in the top 25 by market cap and few outliers that I like the concept of so I have faith in them. There's space for alts and master Bitcoin. I'm still HODLING some Bitcoin from 2014 when I got in so I love Bitcoin. I just love diversification and playing the game also it makes life more interesting.

Edit: Also if my alts keep gaining on BTC in terms of their exchange rate I may convert them all back to BTC only time will tell. I don't have an allegiance to one coin. I know many on here do and that's great, but that's not my style.

There are alts with fairly predictable fundamentals and bands of valuations. Those can be used as a hedge without being an "insurance" but a proper investment instead. With a market as irrational as crypto the token values might differ from the actual valuation, but that just creates arbitrage opportunities for those in the know. So the assessment that diversification in crypto means buying an insurance as a premium is patently false.
2570  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: December 21, 2017, 10:19:45 PM
Lovely ETH,i miss u.few months ago I bought 100 eth on $200 and i wait during the bitcoin pump game that I knew that  dangerous.my ETH became 4x and i sell 80 for BTH last night.allready missed that calmness that i had with ETH.hope ETH and BTH continue rising and i never become regretful to sell my ETHs.

What is BTH? didnt find anything like it on cmc
He probably means BCash, which is a scam.
2571  Other / Politics & Society / Re: how to break teenage video game addiction on: December 21, 2017, 10:18:57 PM
My kids always play games no matter what, so i am curious in your methods too

How old are they. By 14 they won't lose interest in video games, but the hormone change will diminish it a little.

I think this is the most correct answer
I can almost blindly guarantee you that it won't change anything based on experience.
2572  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: $47 in Alt coin on: December 21, 2017, 09:56:09 PM
If I had a budget of 47$, I would invest in coins with low price, because double your amount of coins will be much easier. Choose stratis, dogecoin, ripple

Low price or low market cap? Because Ripple's market cap is already $44 billion now. It will take more and more volume to keep it rising now.
Neither is sufficient to make a sound judgment on its own. You have to consider the overall market, the fundamentals, the technicals and the upcoming news/changes of a coin to know which coin is a good buy at any given moment.
2573  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Ethereum a bubble? on: December 21, 2017, 09:54:58 PM
Bitcoin is more bubble then ETH. There are a lot of project that are working on the top of eth thats why it will always be in demand
Neither is really in a bubble. We can't measure their true value so we can't speak about bubbles. That terminology doesn't really apply to currency-type cryptos.
2574  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 21, 2017, 09:53:20 PM
It is that fear that keeps me from shifting more of my BTC holdings to BCH.

Same fear that Ver, Wu, and Wright all have.

Such conviction!  And yet everyone should buy the shitcoin! Roll Eyes  Roll Eyes

Presently I hold 3 BCH per BTC.  It is foolish to put all of your eggs in one basket.

If you think the vision of "digital gold" will win then maybe you should hold 2 BTC per BCH.

Don't let your ideology prevent you from making wise investment decisions.  Selling all your BTC or all your BCH is not smart.
There are numerous altcoins that I'll happily diversify into while completely avoiding the rotten apple that is BCash.
2575  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 21, 2017, 09:52:23 PM
Wow, nice discussion, but very emotional for my. At any moment, Torque and company start slapping and scratching.

IT'S NOT BCASH
2576  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES | Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform | unofficial supporters topic on: December 21, 2017, 09:42:51 PM
airdrop just for wct holder?
what to waves holder?

If you look into your assets, you should see some other tokens in there, most of them distributed to waves holders. If you lease your waves, you will get also some free tokens. Amount and type will depend on the amount of leased waves and leasing pool.
My leasing returns alone threw off more than the stock market would have... And Waves hasn't seen large-scale adoption yet like Ethereum either. Most of that was before the LPoS increase too.
2577  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If you had $50, what would you invest in? on: December 21, 2017, 09:41:55 PM
50$ with a high transaction fee of sending to exchanger to buy altcoin.  And much better to look a coin that a very low  price like 1 to 10 sats.  And wait pumping to x10.
Better off with fundamental analysis and looking for a coin with strong fundamentals that has upcoming news that will increase its price. Then moving profits into the next coins and repeating the process. Just buying random coins is a surefire way to lose.
2578  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 21, 2017, 09:39:53 PM
Peter - answer the question:  who does Jihan Wu report to?

Putin!

No, wait,  that's Vitalik...

Jihan Wu controls Bcash.  There is a Chinese Communist Party member on Bitmain’s board of supervisors.  Why don’t you Bcash shills do a little research into who really controls your coin.

I suspect there may be legislation in China that requires that every China-based company to have a Chinese Communist Party member on their board. This is true in Malaysia, where every company owner is required to have a Malay member in their company, even though the owner may be Chinese Malaysian. Unfair, but that's the law there.

Correct. 10 points.

The reason those Communist Party members sit on the board is to ensure that the objectives of the company are harmonious with the objectives of the Party, and the Chinese State more generally.   As it is a Board of Supervisors, they have the power to remove and replace all members of management.  Meaning they can dismiss Jihan Wu from his position at any time.  And Jihan Wu notionally controls Bcash.

Why don’t you let that sink in a little bit.

But centralized shit coin cheaper, move faster. Therefore better money.  /s
Cheaper and faster for all of a few hours before turning into garbage.

[ ... ]

I have done all this to date as a volunteer because I love bitcoin and hope to see it change the world for the better.

Do you honestly think that the motives of Jihan Wu and Roger Ver are to change the world for the better? Really? Have you followed their actions and their modus operandi? And you have decided to side with them and support Bcash? If that is true, then I'm afraid you are self-disrespecting your own achievements. It's sad, really...

I communicate directly with both of them, have met both in person and had lengthy discussions with each.  I believe they love Bitcoin for the same three reasons I do:

1. The technology behind bitcoin is interesting and novel; Satoshi solved a long-standing problem in computer science.
2. The adoption of Bitcoin would change the world for the better, by giving us a better form of money.
3. The potential to earn of a huge amount of money.
The fact that you didn't mention decentralization with a single word just shows that you're not to be trusted by anybody who came into Bitcoin for the reasons Satoshi has created it for. Thanks for making it even more apparent that BCash can not be trusted.

Decentralization is a means to an end.  That end is simply better money
Apparently better money means fucking over people through lies and manipulation in an even easier way than before to you. Very enlightening.
