2561  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏏🏏 sportbet.one 🏏🏏 [IPL 2020] Prediction pool and discussion 🏏🏏 on: November 08, 2020, 12:37:30 PM
So guys, whom are you favoring in today's match? I would go with Sunrisers Hyderabad, as they are having a good momentum. During the initial phases of the tournament, I was thinking that Delhi Capitals may end up as champions. But they performed in an appalling manner during the late stages. I expect an one-sided match today, in which SRH will thrash the Delhi Capitals.

2562  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Escrowed very important for bounty? on: November 08, 2020, 12:31:09 PM
The fact is Escrow only guarantee your rewards but the tokens can still be worthless, you still need to choose wisely before promoting any project, don't jump in just because it's escrowed, for me I will sti choose bounties from top bounty managers like bubbalex over escrowed bounties, it's not 100% important for me

I would be cautious. I have no doubt that we have a number of very trusted bounty managers, but my thinking is that escrow is necessary. The issue here is that you can trust the bounty manager, but not the project team. What will the campaign manager do, in case the project team refuses to transfer the tokens? Obviously he is not going to compensate everyone out of his pocket.
2563  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela Planning New 100,000-Bolivar Bills Worth Just $0.23 on: November 08, 2020, 12:25:11 PM
wow.  100,000 bolivars only 23 cents?  It is too bad to import even the paper needed for printing money from Italy.  It is now better understood why cryptocurrencies are so important.  people consider their money as bitcoin against the melting value every day and I think it makes a lot of sense.  I found the subject very interesting.

Nothing wrong in importing the printing paper. You may be surprised to learn that the vast majority of the UN members don't print currency in their countries. The banknotes are printed by foreign agencies such as De La Rue (which provides banknotes to almost 140 different countries). So the case with Venezuela is a bit more advanced. They are not outsourcing the printing and they are doing it within their borders.
2564  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler living in England makes a $5M bet on Trump on: November 08, 2020, 12:19:21 PM
He lost the money, but there is no doubt that the gambling sites were right in offering better odds to Donald Trump. Betfair was offering odds of 39% to Trump and 61% to Biden on the day of election. Polling sites such as Fivethirtyeight were offering only around 10% for Trump. In the end, the elections were closer than they were predicted by the opinion polls (similar to what happened in 2016).
2565  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency Massive Adoption on: November 08, 2020, 12:13:17 PM
This is a long process of this market, by 2020 it is completely different from the early years of this market. We have built a lot of things in this market, and it's really huge and very potential, adoption from large corporations, or hedge funds that continually buy crypto as holdings is a huge stimulus in the market. I think paypal adoption is just the beginning of a booming era for cryptocurrencies.

PayPal adoption is still in the testing phase and we need to wait for many months before it is known whether everything turns out well. But this is perhaps the biggest push received for Bitcoin adoption from the mainstream market so far. The exchange rates for Bitcoin and the alts at this point are not reflecting this big trigger, but I guess we will witness a steep spike in the prices sometime in the next 6-12 months.
2566  Economy / Economics / Re: PayPal to allow cryptocurrency buying, selling and shopping on its network on: November 08, 2020, 12:07:11 PM
This is a crucial detail, as the ability to buy and hold doesn't bring any utility to bitcoin. There are plenty of places you can already do that, it wasn't a large obstacle. The real benefit of tying Bitcoin functionality into PayPal is getting access to the commerce side of it; being able to buy bitcoin and then spend it at any merchant that accepts PayPal. That would be a big deal. This, not so much.

They are still in testing phase and that is the reason why they haven't enabled withdrawals or payments. The news is that they will offer full fledged services from mid-2021 and then you will be able to transact your coins. I expect the withdrawal and transaction fee to be roughly in line with what we have with various cryptocurrency exchanges. Right now, it is just buying and holding.
2567  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 08, 2020, 12:01:30 PM
Betting on Hyderabad today and the odds are also 52% in favor of Hyderabad which is less but still I feel they will manage to win it. Don't know why many believe Delhi will win as Sunrisers have won both the matches against Delhi earlier as well.

Only 52% in favor of SRH? I would have rather given 75% or 80% to them, given their recent performances. Delhi is in such a pathetic state right now and I don't know whether they will be able to put up a decent performance against SRH.

BTW, anyone following the second T20 match between Zimbabwe and Pakistan? Zimbabwe seems to be in a state of batting collapse, after a decent start. They are now 120/6 after 18 overs and it should be a cakewalk for Pakistan from now on. These one-sided matches are really boring. I don't understanding the logic in giving Zimbabwe so much exposure with the big teams, while teams such as Scotland and Nepal never get an opportunity to play against such teams.
2568  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: November 07, 2020, 03:55:31 AM
Do you have a complete list of countries which are included in the test status and associate status ?
I know that countries are granted test status but didn't knew about this associate status. What is a criteria of a team to be included in associate status and test status ?

You can get the list of full members and associate members here:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_International_Cricket_Council_members

As of now, there are 12 full members and 92 Associate members (of them 8 are having ODI status). On top of this, there are 5 more members whose membership has been suspended - Morocco, Cuba, Brunei, Tonga and Switzerland.

Also, regional bodies may be having more countries as members. For example, Tajikistan, Cambodia and Taiwan are members of the Asian Cricket Council, but they don't have ICC membership.
2569  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏏🏏 sportbet.one 🏏🏏 [IPL 2020] Prediction pool and discussion 🏏🏏 on: November 07, 2020, 03:32:05 AM
Yes i changed my pick in the last moment, i picked SRH initially but when i saw the team i knew they would struggle if RCB would put a par score but that did not happen  Cheesy, a few more runs and RCB would have won that.

Did you picked RCB because Wriddhiman Saha was not there in the SRH playing XI? I would say that SRH was a more balanced side, even without Saha. Among all the teams, SRH seems to be having the most balanced bowling attack, in both the pace and spin departments. Rashid Khan is so economical, even if he hasn't picked a lot many wickets. And even without Saha, their batting is quite strong with the inclusion of Warner, Pandey and Williamson.
2570  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Any idea when the Bitcoin Mempool will stop being so congested? on: November 06, 2020, 06:29:24 AM
That's a good point but the chances of users leaving the network permanently is small since no other blockchain can offer the security and decentralization Bitcoin has. These coins you mentioned have been there for years but only few are using them until now.

Well.. I agree with you on that part. Also, the problem is that we consider Bitcoin as a currency, when actually it is a speculative investment asset. So ideally, we should not compare it with PayPal or Moneygram. We should rather compare it with stocks or mutual funds. If I want to invest in stocks or mutual funds, then I have to pay around $10 per transaction to my bank. So the fees for Bitcoin is comparable.
2571  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏏🏏 sportbet.one 🏏🏏 [IPL 2020] Prediction pool and discussion 🏏🏏 on: November 06, 2020, 06:10:35 AM
Haha really Stoinis was the lone warrior today for DC. I expected Rishab Pant would stay with him to support him till the end but Rishab Pant has really proven himself to be overrated. I remember people used to use phrases like "Treasure of Talent" for Rohit Sharma back in 2008-10 when he was given numerous chances in the middle order and lower order yet failed to perform for many of his initial matches. People started to think of him as overrrated too but then after the 2013 Champions Trophy he discovered what he actually was. I think Rishab Pant too needs such kind of introspection. His career would end at this point and he would have to live his life as a Ranji Player only if he doesn't performs.

I had pointed this out earlier, but I guess Marcus Stoinis needs to bat a bit higher. No.5 position gives him limited maneuverability. I would have liked to see him at no.4. And yes.. Rishabh was disappointing this season. But so was the rest of the DC batsmen. Even the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer failed big time. The biggest disappointment was Ajinkya Rahane, who made just one 30 plus score this season.
2572  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 06, 2020, 05:58:37 AM
I say congrats to Mumbai Indians for becoming first finalist, the most balanced team in this IPL season so you guys are deserving champions. The Hitman had nothing yesterday but excellent bowling figure by Bumrah, very consistent on his bowling.

I don't agree when you claim that the Mumbai Indians are well balanced. They are not. Their batting is top class and I can agree with you on this. But their bowling looks very ordinary. Apart from Bumrah, none of the other bowlers have been impressive. Boult might have taken a lot of wickets, but at the same time he has leaked too many runs. And they don't have a quality spinner in their squad.
2573  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US 2020 Elections data, polls and bets on: November 06, 2020, 05:47:27 AM
Biden has huge chances to win the election. If Trump mades a flip and win the election, I will be shocked. Nevertheless, from the big difference of predictions from pollsters and the real election results, I see big support for Trump. The pandemic can has some negative result for him in this election and can play its part for his failure but not make his support falls too much.

If Trump will join the next President election in 2024, I can bet a very interesting race for him. More interesting if Biden decides to join it too. In 2024, Biden will be at his 82 and Trump at 78.  Roll Eyes

LOL.. Trump has already stated that he won't be in race for 2024. Anyway, he'll be too old by then. Actually I don't expect Trump to remain active in politics, in case he loses. He may retire from politics and go back to his primary profession (business). But things can change. In case Biden is replaced by Kamala Harris within the first few months, then I think Trump may make a comeback.
2574  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin reach $20k fee will be huge? on: November 05, 2020, 05:52:01 PM
I am getting really concerned about the impact this can have on the mainstream adoption of cryptocurrency. Right now, there is a lot of hype regarding integration of Bitcoin to the PayPal platform. Imagine the case of a first-time user hears about this from his friends, or from the media, and try to purchase Bitcoin. When he gets informed that it costs around $20 to make a single transaction in BTC, how he is going to react?
2575  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: November 05, 2020, 05:45:42 PM
That's right. I totally agree with you. ICC should have banned Zimbabwe or solved all their internal problems. 100 million dollars is a huge amount for a team like Zimbabwe. The ICC should be re-investigated on the Zimbabwe board. There are still a lot of corrupt people on their board.

Right now, if a nation gets full member status, it is permanent. Even if they can't field a decent playing XI, the full member status can't be revoked. This needs to be changed. Associate nations that are performing well (with native players obviously) needs to be elevated to test status. At the same time, teams such as Zimbabwe needs to be kicked back to the Associate status.
2576  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏏🏏 sportbet.one 🏏🏏 [IPL 2020] Prediction pool and discussion 🏏🏏 on: November 05, 2020, 05:04:38 PM
Surprised by the fighting spirit shown by Marcus Stoinis. He arrived at the crease, when the score was 0/3. And yet he started attacking from the very first ball. All the other top order and middle order batsmen are gone and just Axar Patel and some of the other bowlers are remaining. But Stoinis has helped himself to 62 till now, from just 41 balls. His treatment of Rahul Chahar was just savage.
2577  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 05, 2020, 04:31:28 PM
What happened to DC after starting the tournament on such a good note? At one point, they were topping the points table. And today they are about to get thrashed by the Mumbai Indians. It was just shocking to see the scorecard at 0/3 after 1.2 overs. No one expected DC to implode like this towards the finishing point. There was a time when everyone were talking about Shreyas Iyer captaining the Indian team after a few years...
2578  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did You Face any Problem with BTC Confirmation? on: November 05, 2020, 12:12:00 PM
The median transaction fee needed for an instant (i.e <20 minutes) confirmation is 380 Sat/Byte. If you are paying significantly less amount as fee, then you may need to wait for a couple of days (or even more) to get the first confirmation. So first ask yourself, whether you are fine with such a delay. If you want a quicker confirmation, then there is no other option. You need to pay the median transaction fee.

Anyone here watching JIO women's T20 challenge? Saw the first match yesterday between Supernova and Velocity, I did not find it as interesting as IPL but in my opinion it is a good start to promote women cricket in India.

What do you guys think?

Today's match is between Velocity and Trailblazers.

If they really want to promote the women's sport, then they should start a WIPL, similar to the WBBL they have in Australia. These 2-3 matches are benefiting no one. They were organized by the BCCI to quell the criticism, after they were accused of ignoring the women's game. Why can't they start the WIPL? Initially they can have just three or four teams.
2580  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin reach $20k fee will be huge? on: November 05, 2020, 10:09:30 AM
I expect the fee will be huge if the btc price will also reach $20k. Just like the other day I tried to withdraw my btc in a certain wallet and it cost me more than 3-4$ to withdraw. We can observe the fees these days so there’s a change when you do a transaction. So it is also depends on you if how much are you willing to spend fees, if lower the fees the slow transaction to confirm that will happen.

When I tried moving my coins last week, I had to pay around $9. Obviously, as you have posted, we have the option for waiting for a few days. But not everyone will be able to do that. When you are short of money, and you have bills pending, then sometimes you don't care about the transaction fee. And I expect the transaction fee to go further up in the coming days.
