Nice, you finally see the light!  Please come over from the DRK coin basement where no one trades and no one outside of that basement knows it exists.  Step into the BTC light my liege!

2583  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin makeover. Reputation re-build by ad agency on: February 24, 2015, 10:13:18 PM
Hey, about time the Bitcoin Foundation did some positive about Bitcoin's image!  I'm sure we'll wipe the memory of those shady members they've had (Shrem, Karpeles, Pierce), with some good will and good marketing for sure.

Besides Bitcoin QT/Core updates, I'm don't think I've heard too much waves from this pay to join foundation, so it's better late than never.

Partnering with an A list Ad agency like TheAudience can only be a good thing.  That's what we really need for Bitcoin right now, besides development and investment...we need it to go viral.  We need Grandmas and teenagers alike to get interested and curious.  We need the word of mouth to spread like a disease.

I welcome it!
2584  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbase CEO: bitcoin is far ahead! Altcoins are distractions! on: February 24, 2015, 10:05:37 PM

Sure looks like a Protocol stack to me.

-rubbish-

2585  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbase CEO: bitcoin is far ahead! Altcoins are distractions! on: February 24, 2015, 09:58:36 PM

I wouldn't even liken it to a high level protocol

Sure looks like a Protocol stack to me.

So what ? Bitcoin lost 80% of its marketcap

Uhm....is DRK Coin even trying to be a Cryptocurrency?
2586  Other / Off-topic / Re: FREE Hugs on: February 24, 2015, 09:29:37 PM
Not only should we love one another, but I think a very important thing is love one's self as well.

Self Hugs!!!

2587  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gaming and bitcoin will bring mass adoption on: February 24, 2015, 08:58:06 PM
Agreed that sometimes the gamer contingent have to be the ones that push things forward.  Whether it's a gamer on mobile playing Candy Crush or Plants vs Zombies, a gamer on PC playing Far Cry or the Witcher, or XBox or PS4 gamers, sometimes this key demographic can make things happen.  Definitely occurred with the whole Xbox One DRM debacle, so it's within the realm of possibility.

Hey, at least Greenmangaming accepts BTC!   Cheesy

2588  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbase CEO: bitcoin is far ahead! Altcoins are distractions! on: February 24, 2015, 07:32:43 PM
All altcoins are by nature, just copycat, pump and dump coins.  Pump the price a few points, gone tomorrow.  Gimmicky features, gimmicky logos, proof of stake 10%, oooh 10 second confirmation times must be good!

FUD FUD FUD FUD  ALTCOINS ARE THE SHIZ FUD FUD FUD

TLDR move on to DRK coin instead!!!

2589  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Transactions keep increasing everyday! on: February 24, 2015, 07:18:47 PM

I think that's a very impressive chart, and representative of the small victories we get each day by continuous adoption and users starting to "get it".

Each day, week, month, year that Bitcoin hangs around and grows, leads to the inevitable network effect.  Glad to say we're all a part of it!
2590  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What company should take btc? on: February 24, 2015, 06:56:37 PM
Obviously Amazon! If they accept Bitcoin, it would give it the biggest validation it could possibly get. I mean that company is the world's(!!!) biggest retailer. It's not a shady company and people may re-consider their position if they previously though Bitcoin was only used for illicit purposes!

I agree Amazon should accept Bitcoin, but to piggyback off your comment, I'd propose an even bigger company.....

Alibaba accepting Bitcoin would cause a tear in the time space continuum...c'mon Jack Ma you can do it!

2591  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All about Bitcoin JUST ASK on: February 24, 2015, 06:50:55 PM
$3500 in bitcoin, consider this already invested. Just let it sit there and see what happens.
At what price did buy? thats a nice stack if you bought at 200.

LOL It's a scam account, 1 post 1 activity dude!  It's not for real.

He wouldn't have kept just 15 BTC if he had bought in 2009, they were worth pennies literally.  He'd have a larger stash than 15 BTC easily, because even liquidating the majority of hoard, he'd buy back in with his profit and still be in the hundreds of BTCs if not thousands easily.

Just do the math everyone.  If he had bought in 2009, say at $0.10 a Bitcoin, say with $100 worth of fiat, he'd have 1000 BTC.  So say he sold at the high at roughly $1200, say 75% of his stash.  He'd have sold off nearly a $1mill worth of Bitcoin, still leaving him with 250 BTC worth $60k as of right now.

Just don't fall for it noobs...
2592  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: American Green's Bitcoin Accepting Marijuana Vending Machines Hit Seattle on: February 24, 2015, 06:39:37 PM
Hey, I don't smoke marijuana (anymore), but I'll take it!

Just to have vending machines of any type is critical to getting word of mouth out there.

You know what would really spark some flames....those Redbox DVD machines accepting it!   Shocked Shocked Shocked

That would be absolutely killer!
2593  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where Will Bitcoin Be In 2 Years? on: February 24, 2015, 06:34:35 PM
People wont be using bitcoin, like people don't use Altavista now.

Altavista was a search engine, bad comparison.  Bitcoin is both a Cryptocurrency and Protocol network.

Maybe compare Appletalk or Novell NWLink IPX/SPX to it.  Or say something like People won't be using bitcoin, like people don't use hashcash now.

You have to make an apples to apples comparison, not just throw something out there for the hell of it.
2594  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Power Supply 700w on: February 24, 2015, 05:00:48 PM
Make sure they're at least 85% Bronze rated PSU's.

Had that happen to me before with some generic power supplies I just ripped off a rig, and it shut down because it couldn't handle the load.  If you get eVGA, Corsair, Seasonic, etc these brand name ones usually are at least Bronze rated or higher.

Try posting in the Mining Support section:

Someone there should be able to assist.

Thought these would be among the first on the list!   Cheesy
2597  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New miner & looking to invest. Is it worth it? on: February 24, 2015, 04:39:39 PM
what is your power cost?

I live in PA so it is about $0.09/ kWh

I think you will lose money.  I can be wrong.

Just to be more clear because I forgot to add this in my post.

I'm looking at 4  Spondoolies SP30 's . 4.5TH/s

If you're looking at Spondoolies SP30's, you might as well go for the SP31's at 4.9 TH/s:

http://www.spondoolies-tech.com/products/sp31-yukon-shipping-from-stock

Don't think they sell the SP30's anymore anyways.

Coinbase CEO: bitcoin is far ahead! Altcoins are distractions!

Well he's NOT wrong!   Roll Eyes

All altcoins are by nature, just copycat, pump and dump coins.  Pump the price a few points, gone tomorrow.  Gimmicky features, gimmicky logos, proof of stake 10%, oooh 10 second confirmation times must be good!

2599  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining on: February 24, 2015, 04:19:14 PM
Hey,

So I got question about Bitcoin Mining! I got an $100 on PayPal and I want change that to BTC. Is that good idea to invest it here: https://www.hashnest.com/

No.  Here's where you go to buy BTC with PayPal:

https://brawker.com/help/how-to-buy-bitcoins

Is that site ok to use?

Sure it is.  Here's a recent review done by Coindesk:

http://www.coindesk.com/review-brawker-lets-buy-almost-anything-bitcoin/

Similar to Purse.IO, but not limited to Amazon.

Here's a video about how Brawker works also:

2600  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Pizza for bitcoins? on: February 24, 2015, 04:09:54 PM
This place looks like a sacred topic... lol.

Well a million dollar pizza is what makes it sacred Tongue

As per now price
10k btc = 2.4 mil usd
So for his two pizza's that means
1.2 mil a pizza ?
Damn!

BTC peaked at around $1,240 in Dec 2013 (BTC10,000 x $1,240 = $12.4mil)
This would have made them $6.2mil each back then  Shocked
Today's price is still epic but in December 2013 it's unreal!!

 Shocked Shocked
$6.2 mil each
That's even more messed up
Poor guy laszlo

Believe me if laszlo or any of us had a Hot Tub Time Machine we'd all buy all Bitcoins existence in 2009 before that 2013 bubble.

Unfortunately(Fortunately?), that's how hindsight works.  Don't worry for him or for us, we'll get there and beyond, just need a bit more marinating and cooking in the dev/invest/adopt kitchen.

Where would one buy a hot tub time machine? I cannot see them on eBay, nor Amazon, maybe on the black market??

Open a Tor browser, and check Silk Road 3, Agora Marketplace, or Open Bazaar when it launches.
