2581  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: POW vs POS? on: October 04, 2014, 06:31:34 AM
Actually my preferences tend to lean toward pow. But currently as what is happening right now giant farms with heavy equipment are in total control which means average joe like myself don't even have a chance at all. I still believe cpu mining where one cpu translates to one vote... just to ensure the coins are fairly distributed
Whoever said life is fair? All freedom and justice must be fought for. Grow a pair and figure out how to compete or go play kiddie games. Bitcoin is for the Big Boys now. Hehe, just kidding. The Big Boys haven't even started playing yet. If you want to play in the minor league you still need the chops. All you need is to live in a cold climate with cheap electricity and you can still compete. If you are like me and prefer to sit on tropical beaches and enjoy fruity drinks, then perhaps trading may be your game. For the rest of the slobs like I was once, my proof of work was a job that bought me bitcoins that I held because I believe in the principles it stands for and not as a get rich easy scheme. If you like your job and believe in something, your quality of life is already way ahead of most people. That is something worth fighting for.

And yeah and just look at the state of btc progress right now. If the distribution model at least get reached out to more people, it will be different. Tell me why u need faucets and tipping?

what prevent the rich buying thousand of cpu and mining with it ?

I have 4 cpus at home and i can start mining. The rich slob down the road buys 1000 cpus and also mine. So in this scenario, i don't spend additional hardware and i still can get a chance. The cpu my kids use it for homework. One for gaming and another obsolete unit use for office works. Another unit just goes unused.

Turn the other way even though i can afford, i'm not going to get special rig just to mine.

So u see the difference?
2583  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter & Facebook for the Future of Bitcoin on: October 04, 2014, 06:12:10 AM
Op has a point.
It's like using Facebook and twitter to sell your ideas, products or services and in this case, actually telling people about bitcoin. Crypto is about acceptance and adoption.

Yeah you could say infrastructure. But think of this... anything u can buy with bitcoin, can as well get it using fiat. Things u can buy using fiat, i may not necessarily can get it with crypto. So tell me why should exchange my fiat to bitcoin in order to buy stuff, when i can just directly use my fiat. Or a seller who get forced to set up a bitcoin payment gateway, because buyers only have bitcoin and no fiat on hand.

Acceptance is still the key and social networks can certainly help.

2585  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Could Bitcoin Evolve? on: October 04, 2014, 02:35:08 AM
Sorry if this has been discussed before but I was wondering how Bitcoin could evolve over the next 10 years or so.

I guess the best thing would be if  shops would accept Bitcoin at the terminal as well as paying for things like flights online with it.
Aside from this though, what kind of things could happen to Bitcoin?

I saw that there is a 'new' wallet which is like a lite version that means you don't need to download the whole blockchain.

Thanks.

There is already such 'lite' wallet around ie. Multidoge, Electrum, android bitcoin wallet. Anyway quite difficult to imagine what would change in 10 years rather what can we see coming in the next 1 year. Probably more retail over the counter payment option
2586  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do You Trust Bitcoin on: October 03, 2014, 09:13:54 PM
Think you already have the answer. It's open source meaning you can audit the codes. Who created it doesn't really matter for now
2587  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1,000,000 bits = 1 bitcoin. Future-proofing Bitcoin for common usage? VOTE on: October 03, 2014, 08:56:46 PM
I try not to confuse myself but 1 bit is actually similar to 1 microBitcoin or 0.000001btc. So we have 2 units of measurement referring to the same thing
2588  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why does BTC cause so much controversy even with friends and family? on: October 03, 2014, 04:57:34 PM
The same argument that i would submit to myself when i first got into bitcoin. The problem is mainly not fully understand how the system works and immediately come to the conclusion that it will not work. Actually 2 among my circle of friends thinks that bitcoin is a scam and they are very reserved and immediately brush aside simple facts no matter what you tell them
2589  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do most of FUD creators are newbies! Whats their plan? on: October 03, 2014, 04:50:48 PM
So that people can sell their btc at $300 and they can grab it cheap
2590  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Which Bitcoin wallet is the most secure? on: October 03, 2014, 02:34:16 PM
Armory is certainly the best when it comes to security. The only thing i don't is that there are too many functions which can get confusing. Good and bad but generally is still the best. Using one right now after completed downloading the whole blockchain
2591  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ready to admit bitcoin is a failure? on: October 03, 2014, 02:26:19 PM
I would still say it's very hard to predict what is going to happen 5 or 6 months down the road even for a short period. Anything can still happen. The price might just collapse into the dumpster or very well shoot beyond expectation leaving everybody crying out in awe "i should have bought more". Anyway lets see what is going to happen before making a conclusion right now when things are still moving very very fast

Update on LibrexSend V1 and other things.

Some investors and holders of Librexcoin have asked about Librexsend V1.  We're working on it non-stop and we already have the code close to release. It is in testnet being extensively tested and debugged. This testing has revealed some small bugs and other small code errors. We are now bug smashing and cleaning up code for review by Dam M. Our ultimate goal is to deliver a rock solid code and eliminate any other issues that may arise. If released too soon or without proper testing and not passing Dans scrutiny would have dire consequences for both LibrexSend but also the long term value of LibrexCoin. As it gets closer to being ready for Dan's review I will post it and also some details and other teasers for it.

LibrexSend is a big project. We expect that LibrexSend will become a benchmark standard anonymity in coins. We're close to releasing LibrexSend V1.

We will releasing an new wallet that will have interesting features

We make our debut on Mintpal's exchange when they release V2.

We will also be releasing a QT wallet update that has a few new and interesting features built into it. This should come in the next few days.

I've been here in this tread since the first day trying to do my best to assuage concerns and answer any questions, providing information, and such while attending to my non coin life. Smiley  You can trust me when I say that LibrexCoin will continue to be successful in part because we have great things coming up and in part due to our great community. I ask you for and thank you for your patience and continued support.

Any specific or target date for the release? Just want to make sure that i didn't miss it.
Is going to be for your bday. As your bday gift. Go and troll somewhere else

Just relax and take it cool
in fact you call me whatever name you want Cool

There are probably 9.8 out of 10 positive comments here so what is wrong with a harmless question like mine being thrown around. A curious investor has every right to know about when and what is going to happen next.

But just a quick note. Intelligent and smart people may very well understand what i want to say or point out. Remember the key word... only smart and intelligent people
2593  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Holding BTC only raise it's monetary value. on: October 03, 2014, 02:04:49 PM
No way coin value is going up if everyone holds on to it without doing anything. We perceive it as having a value... and value is something proportional to demand, how and where it can be used, its uses or benefits, it niche speciality. ..... just rarity alone just because everyone holds to it and lower the supply won't really help. There is fundamental economics that comes into play here
2594  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1,000,000 bits = 1 bitcoin. Future-proofing Bitcoin for common usage? VOTE on: October 03, 2014, 12:38:01 PM
It helps in a way or another. Plus it gives a psychological advantage which lets you have the feeling that you actually own something. 100 bits certainly sound better than 0.001mbtc. However with so many terms around, sometimes i get confused.

2597  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just throwing this out there. on: October 03, 2014, 12:13:48 PM
If there was one that relies solely on bitcoin and nothing else as payment mode, that would be great
2598  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Steve Jobs was Satoshi. on: October 03, 2014, 12:11:10 PM
Probably just another guy who is now figuring out a way to spend his money. And lots of thinking on how to....very rich by now

Hate it when reading this. I hope they track down the thief and recover back the coins.
