2581  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Please remove Chaang Noi (Goat) from default trust list on: November 13, 2013, 05:04:08 AM
John K isn't related in any way. Badbear is the only one responsible for Goat being a part of the trust list. And that is until someone else on the default trust lists trusts him as well. There aren't secret meetings where we all get together and gossip and decide who to add to the list. If someone does a deal with someone on the default trust list, and they leave positive feedback, they are now on the list.

Actually a slight surprise, as Badbear and Goat don't get along very well. The fact that Badbear trusts Goat just means that he seriously would trust goat finanically.

You don't get banned for using the wrong tags? Nor posting in the wrong place, unless you do it like 100 times within a day or something, then possibly?

Not sure why you keep using the announcement tag, but moving this to scam accusations for you I guess?

Never heard of it. BTC > Paypal transactions aren't a good idea anyway, even if both parties are legit. I've cashed out to Paypal a few times with BTC-E and I always wondered why their payment address changed everytime, and it is something like, Gift card service, or Magazine service. If Paypal gets wind of any Bitcoin transaction, even without a dispute, be prepared to have all accounts involved shut down and any money held on them gone.
2586  Other / Meta / Re: Is Theymos anonymous? on: November 12, 2013, 04:02:30 AM
Since you asked maybe cuz he was on the "default trust" list?

yeah, Theymos, would you mind telling us the reason Tradefortress was on the default trust list? My speculation was that he had "disclosed security flaws in a responsible manner" as your feedback for him said, but was that the reason or was there another reason?

The laws of gravity are incomplete due to a lack of knowledge, that does not mean that gravity itself is just a theory and that dank can fly if he takes enough drugs.

Oh hahahahah, I totally missed the context. I don't know, I recall a post by Dank saying that he is the second coming of Jesus, or Harry Potter's cousin, or something like that.

Dank, this is for you. There have been documented cases of people being able to walk through walls. In the mid 1800s, a monk in tibet was found days later after last being seen lodged inside of a wall, suffocated, but without causing any damage to the wall. There are claims that the Shaolin monks and such can do it on command, but that hasn't been proven. The phenomenon is a toss up between what physicists believe either to be the Natural Frequency Theory (can't remember the other name for it) or quantum tunneling. With the Natural Frequency Theory, which is a somewhat well known concept, every object in the universe has an internal frequency. I'm sure you have seen bad movies where someone is going to stamp the earth with a machine until it tears apart. The application in the particular case is that each atom in your body has its own frequency. If an atom with the same frequency comes in contact with a similar atom, they can transpose each other. Its pretty common with electrons, something like a 1 in 300 chance. The first theory is, that if every single atom in your body lines up with that frequency of the wall, you should be able to pass through it. At least until something changes and you get stuck and die a horrible death. I've calculated that statistically for it to happen, if we had the entire world's 7 billion people walk into walls for 76 years straight, no sleep, no eating, just walking into individual walls, there would be a .0003% chance of someone making it through. I'll photocopy and upload my calculations at some point, but I'm too lazy to find them. I'm recalling most of the numbers from memory, so I might be slightly off, but you get the point.

Dank, I would like to appoint you in charge of this mission. I'd like you to walk into walls for the rest of your life, while recording, for the good of humanity. I figure you probably have a better chance than anyone else  Grin

I think gravity is an experimental phenomena.   There are, however, theories that try to explain gravity, such as the Newton's universal gravitational force, Einstein's general theory of relativity, or more recently Eric Verlinde's entropic gravity.

Yep, many interesting theories. I'm particularly fascinated with the concept of gravitons. We still haven't figured out what light is, and I think that gravitons would tie in some theories to light, which would prove the existance of monopoles. I think this is an appropriate side conversation in a, "do you smoke pot" thread.

Gravity is not a theory, theory of gravity is a proven explanation of why and how the laws of gravity work. Saying gravity is a theory is incorrect.

Not entirely true. The concept of gravity as is commonly held today works in something like 99.5% of all senarios, however physicists widely acknowledge that the current gravity model isn't completely correct. While techincally you could call it a law, because it works how it is intended, I believe in the next 20 years or so, our modern interpretation of what is gravity, which is essentially still classical physics, will be revised with a neo quantum solution.

ReBoRn: that sucks.
monbux: REALLY, I haven't met any of them.
FCH13,SaltySpitoon, & BittBurger: What college/university did you go to?

University of Maryland for me. I had an aunt who got a full scholarship to Yale, where she recieved her Masters Degree in Business Administration. However, she lived in a small town in a pretty secluded area, didn't want to move, and was overqualified for everything. She then spent the next I don't know how many years working at Walmart as a cashier.

Gravity is a theory.

I don't think you know what theory means, at least when it comes to science.

Heh, actually gravity is a theory. I'm skeptical about gravity myself.

IP check is in, and lucerohein is an alt of rouf553 and cryptomaker22.

So at this point, I change my stance from probably scammer to definate. Looks like I don't have to apologize now  Smiley

Discounted for the final time, any cheaper than this, and I'm better off trading it in at a music store. Don't disappoint Rob Lowe!

Also added additional payment options.

Bitcointalk has its flaws, but very infrequently is censorship and issue. A few members have gotten into spats with moderators over a bad judgement call on a post which does happen, but I don't ever think I've seen a continuous thing. If you really believe you weren't spamming, take it up with Theymos, he will be happy to reinstate your post if it wasn't actually spam.

I think that's quite obvious enough. Thanks for the heads up
Maybe you should post this in th scam section. This guy should get his tags.

The forums don't use tags anymore, just the trust system.

I've made but one mistake in my scam accusations before, and that was toward CryptoRig and I apologized appropriately, and same will be the case if I'm wrong here. Although, that was a mistaken identity thing, I was trying to tag Crypto4Rig and got him instead, but same sentiments. I'm one to admit when I'm wrong, and am completely willing to accept that I'm wrong when I am. I however at this point do not feel I am on this case. I do somewhat believe in innocent until proven guilty, which is why I made it clear in my feedback and in my post that I'm not 100% certain, as the only way to be 100% certain is when someone has already scammed. Unfortunately that is too late.

Quite frankly, I have reason to believe you are a scammer. If I'm off, I'll give you a sincere apology.

The first thing that got my attention, was, "Coins will not be sent out without upfront payment." not willing to use escrow etc. Of course, that isn't definative by itself, however I then noticed none of the items had the same background. One image would be on red carpet, then gray, then gray of another pattern. So I inspected the image source, and the images are coming from ebayimg. So I then checked Ebay, and found the items that he was selling.

The first link from Florida, second from Australia, third from China, fourth from California,

and I'd be willing to bet I could find every other item as well, so for this moment, I'm leaving a note on your trust due to my own opinion and personal suspicion, and I'll be completely sure to make it clear that I'm by no means certain about my rating, however at this point I feel more likely than not that you actually do not have the items. Like I said, I'd be happy to removed the rating as soon as I have that moment that says, oops I made a mistake, and I'll give you an apology, however for the time being, I feel pretty strongly that I have an obligation to at least present the evidence and allow people to come to a conclusion for themselves.

Sorry if I upset you, but this is Bitcoin land where scams are just as common as legitimate transactions.
2599  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Please remove Chaang Noi (Goat) from default trust list on: November 11, 2013, 06:30:11 AM
Yeah I'm pretty tired, and am unable of processing how Goat is on the Default trust list. He doesn't seem to be on Theymos' default trust list, and it looks like Goat added trust to Badbear, not the other way around.

Then again, I could just be reading the list wrong, I'll designate someone else to answer this question for you, maybe Mr.Goat himself  Smiley

My best guess is he is on the Third level in depth. CanaryintheMine who is on the default trust list trusted Maidak who trusted Goat.
2600  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Please remove Chaang Noi (Goat) from default trust list on: November 11, 2013, 06:22:54 AM
Isn't the default trust list depth set to 2 by default?

Which means Goat is on the default trust list by default.

Or if the default depth is only set to 1 then it really doesn't matter, so only users changing their depth settings would see Goat's feedback; and I live with that.

Yeah the default is two I think, but still same outcome, you need to talk to Badbear. Hes the only one who has any say in the matter.

*edit* hold on a second, I think I'm reading something wrong, tis late, lemme relook at the default trust.
