2581  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Still haven't sold a bit of BTC since 2013... if I can do it you can do it too! on: January 29, 2022, 01:51:16 PM
Hi everyone, it's been awhile, just wanted to tell you that I still haven't sold a bit of BTC since 2013... if I can do it you can do it too!

Some of you may say it's a dumb decision or risky, but I'm all for BTC and positive about it. To the Moon!

Now those are the "Diamond Hands" I am looking for. Although I don't hold much BTC I kepp trying to accumulate as much as I can every year.
I also withdraw them when I "need" to but otherwise they stay in my wallet. So far I am happy with the investments I have made in crypto.
But these dips are really tempting. I wish I had more fiat to buy these wonderful and lustful dips but unfortunately I am out of cash and I don't plan to get a loan to buy bitcoin.
2582  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I invested $100 for 18 years for my new born nephew on: January 29, 2022, 01:38:37 PM
Honestly speaking $100 would still not be sufficient for education by then. 18 years is a long time and just imagine what would be the education cost by then.
Even if we consider that bitcoin goes 100x from now which is itself a big deal according to me, it would still give out only $10,000.
Do you really think $10k would be really sufficient for education after 18 years ? May be in a mid level college then yes but otherwise a big no.

That should be the priority because our skills are much better than luck, I know how this must be applied in the game, not especially from the favorite game, sometimes I do that so that what I do is not only limited to games but skills that must be shown.
Sometimes I also use skills in the game of luck even though I know it's very difficult to win but in its own way it's a little different from the rest of the game.

yes, the point is some luck games are impossible to play with skill, take slots or dice as an example, there is no learning curve, there is no way to apply skill to it, only pure luck all the time

you know what I mean?

Even skill based games require a little bit of luck and more amount of skill for the game to be won. Luck is necessary in gambling.
Although there is no skill involved in luck based games but if we have the skill of money management then we can try to reduce our losses.
Knowing what amount to bet for the particular game and reducing it in the following games is a skill in itself which has helped me limit my losses quite often.

Did you guys place any bets for BTC or ETH price prediction for this month ?
Although the price fluctuations were high in the recent days I have managed to find few ranges to bet on.
BTC price ranges were not having a good returns and so I switched on to ETH price betting for this month.
I have covered the ranges from $2000 - $3000 and I think ETH will stay in this range by the end of this month.

2585  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to make $ 1,000,000 out of $ 30,000? on: January 28, 2022, 04:22:55 PM
How to find yourself in the world of cryptocurrencies? How to earn a place in the sun and escape from the darkness? Is it realistic to turn $ 30,000 into 1 million or is it just a fairy tale ? What would you do for this? How not to lose everything?  Please share your ideas.

I saved up for a house for my parents. In 2018, I bought bitcoin with all my money at the rate of $ 16,000, after which I had to sell everything at the rate of $ 3,500. So I lost almost everything. Now I have recovered a little mentally and financially and I want to enter the world of cryptocurrencies, taking into account past mistakes. The house needs to be built. Time is running.

You can contact me in telegram @Looker2021

You shouldn't have sold at such low price. Did you sell it in a panic or there was really a necessity to sell ?
Also, you shouldn't invest money in crypto which you can't afford to lose. The wise men say this for a reason and I think it is very well applicable here.
If you had this amount you could afford to lose then you wouldn't have probably sold it at such low and would have eventually HODL and made huge profits.
You must keep in mind that never sell for a loss because the market always goes up eventually.
2586  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trade-in between the lines on: January 28, 2022, 04:16:07 PM
It quite clear to all of us that trading is not an easy task and if an individual lack a good trading skills it may bead to loses, this aspect has made many to decide to hold rather than trading to avoid mistakes.
But in doing that I have observed that while the crypto currency market is highly volatile so if you can flow with the wave of the market one can still make good profits but again its not a guarantee and not an investment advice.
DO YOU AGREE WITH THIS STAT?

You are basically speaking about trading in a sideways market where the price fluctuates between a specific range.
I would say that it is the riskiest of all since we can't predict so easily in which direction the next wave might be.
Eventually, at some point the range gets broken and we tend to lost profits most of the time.
This is why I don't prefer to trade in a sideways market.
2587  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casino behavior that turn you off on: January 28, 2022, 03:57:37 PM

That's really a good point. Casinos having their account on this forum do earn some kind of respect from the community.
Most of the popular casinos have their accounts on this forum and I guess this adds an advantage the casino owners as well since they might get good traffic from bitcointalk users.
But there are also some casinos that do have an account on this forum yet are reluctant to stay active on the forum. This is what a huge turn of me.

Perhaps they have paid campaign managers to do the job, hence the "I'll just sit back and focus elsewhere" attitude.

Funnily they might spring up when it comes to promos.
Well having a representative on the forum is an added advantage to casino owners but the most important thing is how the operators deal with the customer's feedback and complaints, one of the most annoying parts is that in some cases the customer never get any good response from the team and the problem are left untouched which have resulted into scam accusation and ultimately denting their reputations.

That's ofcourse true. I think most of the scam accusation would have been raised because of a bad or incomplete response from the customer support.
The scam accusations would decrease drastically if casino owners hire good representatives for customer support.
2588  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casino behavior that turn you off on: January 28, 2022, 03:02:02 PM
Being inactive here on bitcointalk. If you are not here, then I do not want to gamble in your casino. I know that casinos do not have just here, they get people from all around the world and bitcointalk is just one place. We have so many casinos in the crypto world and we see like maybe 10 decent ones in bitcointalk, whereas there are 100+ of them online (thousand if you include bad ones as well).

However, for me the real thing is that if you are here, if you have a staff that talks here, or even the founder, then I know that I could get you to talk to me in case there is a bad situation going on. Look at some of the other casinos that do not care about here, they end up doing something bad and you complain about it but nothing happens because they do not care about bitcointalk at all and they do not care if someone is complaining. This is why someone being active on bitcointalk on behalf of the casino is very important to me.

That's really a good point. Casinos having their account on this forum do earn some kind of respect from the community.
Most of the popular casinos have their accounts on this forum and I guess this adds an advantage the casino owners as well since they might get good traffic from bitcointalk users.

Please help me reset 2fa. My phone crashed i had to buy a new one.

It is obvious that, if you've crushed your old phone, you'll need to install the 2FA authenticator app on your new device and import your backup secret keys. Have you tried to do that?

How to import, the phone is completely broken, it doesn't turn on at all

On your new phone you will have to install the authenticator app again and then use the backup keys of your authenticator app and import on new phone.
So basically, you will need backup keys from your old phones authenticator app.
If you don't have the backup keys then consider it gone. There's no way to reset the 2fa.
2590  Economy / Gambling / Re: This is why I love this forum...and we should make it more powerful on: January 27, 2022, 04:22:20 PM
Yep, it is a very useful platform to publicly expose those that are trying to scam people, and that includes such conditions that appear out of the blue, or are in the finest possible print and are aimed to make withdrawal expensive, painful and sometime simply impossible. I even wonder why would anyone go to play online with crypto and not bother too look into the number one resource for reputation checking.

That's simply because not everyone knows about this forum. Many people are not aware that there's a forum called bitcointalk created by Satoshi himself.
Also, there are some people aware of this forum yet look for places elsewhere to find reviews about casinos.
People keep asking where they can find out which is a good casino and ask for websites which provide casino reviews and bonus offers etc...

So I collected the 50 WoF spins and spinned each one of them manually. To be honest, it is indeed worth spinning manually than clicking Play All.
But I can't do it for more than 50 spins the next time  Tongue Funny thing is the base reward was 50 lottery, 50 RP and 50 satoshis which coincides with the 50 WoF spins.
Too many 50s here. Below all the results though. I kept a note of what I was having already and subtracted it with after spinning all the 50 spins.

800 Satoshis
1150 Lottery tickets
550 RP

For 50 spins I think these are moderate results. Unfortunately, for all the spins I got only the base rewards.

I always click play all, as I don't have the patience to manually spin all my WOF (especially 50 in a row). The rewards you got are not bad, but indeed not great. Hopefully you will get lucky with some of the lottery tickets you got.

Even I would have simply selected the Play All option if it wasn't for Betwrong to suggest and try the Play One for 50 times to get the thrill.
While the thrill was there indeed, the results are still moderate. It would have been worth if at least 2-3 spins were more than just the base reward.

Of course that would be great, but to me your results are still not that bad. Out of 50 WoF rolls you won 800 satoshis, meaning 16 spins brought you some sats, and you won 550 RPs, that's 11 spins. So, this is, of course, my personal opinion, but I think if most of the spins gave you RPs and sats instead of Lotter tickets - you were lucky. The most worthless reward, imo, is LTs, even if it's thousands of them at once. Let's imagine you were getting top LTs prize each spin, 5k tickets. With 50 spins you would get 250k Lottery tickets, but your win chance would still be less than 0.2%. So, it is likely that after the draw you would find out that you won nothing. And that's with top LTs prize each time!

So, again, your results don't look poor to me, but, of course I wish you better luck next time. Smiley

Well, if we do look at it from that perspective then yes the results were not that bad.

16 times - 50 satoshis
11 times - 50 RP
23 times - Lottery tickets

Although I received lottery tickets most of the time but cumulative result of satoshis and RP results with more than 50% which is still good.
But I really wish that freebitco.in decides to reconsider their decision or at least increase the chances of winning more than base rewards.
2592  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins worth investing at dip on: January 27, 2022, 04:03:21 PM
There has been so many YouTube influencers and other folks predicting to buy certain altcoins for huge profit and once the Bitcoin dropped down thus send a shockwave across altcoins we don't see people or influencer coming up with their favorite list of altcoins with the kind of confidence which they showed when market was green.

This is the right time to pick invest into altcoins which didn't got expected pump during the bullrun yet posses the potential, I want you guys to share your opinion on altcoins which we should invest.

Though I am not a big fan of XRP but I would prefer XRP and ADA to invest now at dip. 70% investment would be into ADA and 30% into XRP.

Even I am trying to accumulate more ADA these days. I have just started the accumulation of ADA and so far I have 120 ADA in my bag.
I am not really sure but how much ADA do you guys think one should have in order to gain potential profits in the long term.
I still think XRP is a shit coin and won't invest in it ever. I would rather hold stable coins like USDC than invest in XRP.
Ever since ADA is out of my list. I don't have the trust of this project because I was a victim of its failure and was given no chance to recover my investment. It is the best decision to find another one but not XRP as well.
Why not consider the know altcoins like ETH and BNB. They are leading altcoins in the market and that seems promising in the real thing. Or, to have some luck in the metaverse projects as they are just about to start and ride on the possible hyped.

Could you share your experience of ADA here or in PM as I would really like to know how you became a victim of it's failure.
If it is indeed a valid reason to worry about then may be I would have to reconsider my stance on ADA.

To talk about ETH and BNB then yes I have invested a little amount in ETH too but not BNB.
Right now I don't have enough capital to get my hands on BNB  Tongue
2593  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's your reason for buying altcoins? on: January 27, 2022, 03:57:34 PM
Don't you guys think that all the options are relevant ? If we buy altcoins we do expect it to go to the moon.
We hope that the price pumps up which eventually means that it's value in BTC, ETH and USD will go up as well.

Well I particularly buy altcoins so that my over portfolio remains balance and increases potentially in the long term.
that is one of the option for which I also bought some Eth today but other than that there are many other options or reasons for which we buy altcoins one of them is the low fees of transaction. I often keep some amount in those altcoins which have smaller fees of transaction. I also keep some coins in BNB for trade on binance and in the same way we keep many other for different purposes too

That's really a good strategy to save some amount of money in altcoins to use it for transactions with lower fees.
But in my case, I never need the money for transactions as I am in it just for the investments.
So I mostly hold it in bitcoin and popular altcoins and grow my networth over time.
But yeah, whenever I do make transactions I don't bother to spend few extra dollars to get the transaction done.

2596  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: An advanced technology could kill crypto? on: January 26, 2022, 02:35:56 PM
The world of technology is evolving every year what if in future a new tech is been born that can kill crypto or works better than crypto won't this kill cryptocurrencies?

Also I heard that super computers can get through all crypto wallet keys easily in a matter of days, true or false?

Cryptocurrencies are still in a very early stage I would say since it is not yet widely adopted.
If a new technology is developed it only means that a new form of payment method/trading asset is created.
I am pretty much sure that it will not be quickly adopted since cryptocurrencies itself is still not widely adopted.
By the time the new tech is evolved, new projects will emerge in the crypto sphere which will tackle the new tech being developed.
We will also get enough time to evaluate which technology is better and potential in the long term and will get ample amount of time to switch over.
It is quite obvious that if the new tech is far better than cryptocurrencies then people will move over to it.
But I hardly think there will be a new tech in the next 20 years which will be able to surpass cryptocurrencies.
2597  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casino behavior that turn you off on: January 26, 2022, 08:56:29 AM
I usually choose cryptocurrency casinos from Bitcointalk announcement threads. In the beginning, forum users always have a lot of questions for the owner or the person who represents the casino here. If the casino support does not answer questions, or contact is very difficult, I do not even check the casino.

That's a good approach and even I am pretty much like this. I only look for casinos that have their own ANN thread on bitcointalk.
I mostly avoid other casinos because they are more prone to scams or don't have a good user experience.

Some casino behaviors which I don't like are when they hold our withdrawals for some reason and delay it.
Sometimes they don't give us the bonus offers and not to mention the lack of support and customer service from them.
They also tend to lure you into registering with them and then don't fulfill their promises.

For 50 spins I think these are moderate results. Unfortunately, for all the spins I got only the base rewards.

I would say not the best of the rewards from those 50 spins but I also always play each spin manually, there is the feeling that you spin the wheel and you have always greater adrenaline than when clicking play all which just shows the number of rewards in a table form below and you see just increasing numbers.I think now is one of the best times to play as many WoF as possible as all rewards are in the maximum,I have not seen more than 50 base rewards up until now.

Such results for 50 spins are normal, especially after freebitcoin decided to reduce the chances of winning bigger rewards. At the same time, I agree with you that now is a good time to spin the wheel of fortune as often as possible. I would even use RP to get an extra WoF bonus per roll, although I have no luck with it. I mean, I usually win a lot less RP than I spend on this bonus every time.

That sounds like a bad idea to me now that freebitco.in has lowered the chance of winning higher rewards.
It's tough to even get the moderate rewards (3 digit rewards). I don't even remember when was the last time I got high rewards (4 digit rewards).
Spending RP to get extra WoF spins from the roll is not really beneficial these days since we hardly get 3 digit rewards.
Even I recently spent 900 sats and rolled 12 times to get 12 WoF spins but hardly got around 250 RP back from the spins.
2599  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't punic, just hodl on: January 24, 2022, 03:50:21 PM
The entire crypto market is falling again today, but is this the first time? Didn't it fall the same way in 2021 before the new ATH? And remember what was the level of greed and fear at $40,000 a year ago and now? I see this drop as an opportunity to buy fundamental tokens at a good price. I bought NEAR, Sol, Aurora, Harmony, Link, ADA.

Also a good reason to believe that this is just a correction is the fact that the largest venture capital funds continue to invest money into the market. For example, a month ago Three Arrows Capital bought 156K ETH, or just recently A16z, Alameda, Three Arrows Capital held another round of investment and invested $150M in NEAR Protocol, which indicates that serious guys like a16z and Alameda still believe in growth.

We don't really know if this is a correction of the start of a bear market or how much more the price are gonna fall.
But what we know is that after all of this the price will start to recover and sooner or later we will see another ATH.
So this is a good opportunity to accumulate all our favorite coins and gain profits when we encounter the ATH.
I would personally suggest everyone to keep buying the dip in regular intervals of few weeks or months so that we can accumulate more over the long term.

Lets begin with me. Mine was like almost $100 in ETH for just claiming my tokens from the bounty that took me a year of waiting. Would love for you to share your experiences as well! Thanks!

That's exactly the same as mine. Even I had some Aave tokens in one of old ETH wallet which I noticed last year.
I tried to claim it but there was a certain procedure where I had to swap the LEND tokens to Aave.
The total price of tokens was around $400 out of which a gas fees of $100 was used in the swapping.
But still I was able to accumulate $300 for free  Grin
