261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: August 23, 2017, 02:47:10 AM
A lot of smart people have purchased bulk of D3's and re-selling them for 2K more!

https://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/ele/d/antminer-d3-15gh-dash-crypto/6274542259.html

So maybe not all 1800 units start mining for the November batch!..some hope!

Well I'm sold.  Tell Wu I'm down for 20 more, ASAP!
262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Last chance to get some GEO before today's pump bump on: August 23, 2017, 02:29:00 AM
bump, pump bump incoming.

It'll build until tomorrow afternoon midday Pacific time if it's anything like last time, and drop like a rock with the news (no matter what the news is)

Looks like it might be starting a little early.

Let the hype-ning begin!

"BREAKING ANN!  GEO CURES CANCER!!!  BUY BUY BUY BUY!!!"
263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: how to make a good PROFIT in trading? on: August 23, 2017, 02:23:22 AM
I strongly recommend this strategy. When i used to trade, i used 0.05 btc for every operation i made, and take profit when it reaches 0.0525
By this way, if you open 4 operations at the same time, yo can easily make 0.01 profit every day, or less if you wanna take profit even faster.
But this is good if you wanna earn good money, always chosing good coins of course.

Hey great I'm glad to hear it sounds like a good plan.  I'm actually so new to trading, crypto, mining etc that's it really just my best guess... but so far I'm getting nice results from it, about 4-8% gains per day, sometimes more.

Are you tracking any coins now?  How does OMG, CVC, BAT, CFI, XLM sound for mid/long term holds?

Once I get some free coins I tend to get a little crazy with them.  So I'm also flipping GEO, BCH ("BCC") and EBST more often, a few times a day sometimes.  So far that's working out pretty good but it seems like a higher risk approach.  GEO might be good for long term too, I'm trying to hang onto some of that for later.  EBST is junk but it moves a lot.

GEO will pump in about 12 hours, it may have already started a little early.  I think it'll go up about 20% over current levels (54k satoshi), maybe peak 25-30%.
264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: how to make a good PROFIT in trading? on: August 23, 2017, 01:11:35 AM
I'm going to paste a response I wrote to someone else about this earlier

Quote
Buy a bunch of different kinds of alt coins.  Research them first, try to pick good ones, etc etc.  But get a very broad selection of them.  Look for ones that occasionally spike to 150%-200% (or more) of normal level.

Structure your automatic sells so if you buy 5 coins for $10, you sell 4 of them for $12.50, then sit on the 1 you have left.  So if you buy 100 at $10, sell 80 @ $12.50

Leave it alone for a while.  Two weeks, a month maybe.  Don't just sit there and watch it, you'll be tempted to micro-manage the process.

When you come back and look at it, most of them will have hit the auto-sell, covered the initial expense, and left a remaining fraction that was basically free.

Some of them won't have caught, and if you've given it a month and they did not, you might want to sell those off.  Or if you're feeling gutsy, buy more at the lower rate, restructure your sells the same way as before but with the new average buy in price in mind, and wait on them again.

Most of them will have caught because traders routinely pump up any/all of the altcoins to levels way past +25%.

So then you have a portfolio of coins that was basically free.  Sell enough to cover the expense of the ones that didn't catch.  Remove 100% of your initial investment from Bittrex and put it back into long term savings.  Bitcoin would be a safe bet, or silver.

Then I like to setup auto sells with the free coins harvested so as the coin price hits certain targets, it sells off enough for a consistent payoff.  So if coin is bought at $5, and I want to make $100 per payoff, and I have 20 coins, I'd have sells at 10 for $10, 5 for $20, 2 for $50, 1 for $100.  That's 18 of the 20, then hang onto a couple for later.  You'll want to adjust those amounts to reasonable levels for any given coin but that's the idea.  Every time it hits a new higher target -> payday ($100 each in this case, $400 total).  IMO this is better than say... putting in an auto sell of 20 for $100.  Sure you'd make 5x as much... IF it ever hits.  Big if.  Or selling 20 at $10, you only make $200 but if the pump actually went up to $100, you missed out.  With sell targets like I outlined, you get a nice payout at all stages of a good pump and dump.  And you don't have to do anything, it just happens automatically over time.

Once the money from your free coins has built up enough to be relevant, take half of it and do the same process again with it.  Repeat until you have a giant stack of money.
265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Future pump / best short-time invest on: August 23, 2017, 01:06:35 AM
CFI has a nice triangle developing its going to pump in the next few days

CFI might have some real long term chops.  The way they act as a crowdfunding token means their users will promote CFI for them.  That's a big marketing expense they just don't have to deal with, and word-of-mouth is arguably more effective anyways.  So they don't have to pay for ads, and the ads they get are better.   And unlike some tokens, CFI will never, ever run out of things to hype up, since all they have to do is look around in the list of projects and find something neat to talk about.

Even if I take some profits from a CFI pnd, I'll be hanging onto some for a long time anyways.
266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which alts are most stable right now? on: August 23, 2017, 12:46:51 AM
I'd go with OMG, although a 10% or higher drop is not terribly uncommon.  Mostly it's moving up though.

CVC might be worth a look too.
267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / [MCO] Price being pushed down? on: August 23, 2017, 12:44:18 AM
Every time the market tries to push the value of MCO up, someone comes along and dumps off a giant lot across the first page of sells, dropping the price a while.

It looks deliberate, like if they can keep downward pressure pushing the price down against upward market dynamics, when they turn off that pressure and even turn it around, buy a little, the price will pop.  Like pushing a balloon down under water, when you let go, it jumps out a bit.

It seems like it's getting harder for them to do this but maybe I'm just jumping to conclusions.

Anyone else thing the MCO price is about to spike?
268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: August 22, 2017, 11:56:11 PM
Hello on the Dash site I found some valuable information

Dash works a little differently from Bitcoin, however, because it has a two-tier network. The second tier is powered by masters (Full Nodes), which enable financial privacy (PrivateSend), instant transactions (InstantSend), and the decentralized governance and budget system. Because this second tier is so important, masternodes are also rewarded when miners discover new blocks. The breakdown is as follows: 45% of the block reward goes to the miner, 45% goes to masternodes, and 10% is reserved for the budget system (created by superblocks every month).

Thus the masternodes and the miners receive the same for each block.

Later on the site I found the ROI of the masternodes.

ROI tab

http://Http://178.254.23.111/~pub/Dash/Dash_Info.html

$ 2027

So can we say that miners are currently given the same value as masternodes?

Looks like a good time to be a master node.  They're going to have a very profitable couple of months.

What a brilliant business model... Again I wish you guys the best of luck who are buying into the Giga ponzi scheme.

Maybe this is a bitmain spinoff?  Seems an aweful lot like what they do.  Miners pay up front, they create the units, mine with them for a month, and then deliver.

M

Grin  Yes, the games being played are pretty slimy at the moment aren't they?  Kind of hard to differentiate these days.

Hashnest.

Miners pay up front, then when the miner is 'paid off', Bitmain keeps it.  Lol such a scam.
270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: August 22, 2017, 10:37:36 PM
Did these ever come out?

They sold three batches of them but none have shipped yet.
271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Future pump / best short-time invest on: August 22, 2017, 10:26:56 PM
Otgherwise, what do you think of viacoin ?
Price very low, could it be the beginning of a new pump ?

Well someone's got a script buying it up in 0.002 BTC increments very often, I see a few pages full of them here on Bittrex now

So yeah that sounds kinda pumpish to me.  If they have their buy level set above what it's currently at, they have to figure they'll be getting a return on that.  Probably a solid buy.

It looks like their script started buying at 0.0022 or below.
272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Future pump / best short-time invest on: August 22, 2017, 09:37:33 PM
XLM looks strong.  Might have good long term legs, seems like a well run project with a clear plan for the next 10+ years.

I'd buy some EBST again in about a week, and watch for the pump a week after that.  Looks like they do this every two weeks or so.
273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Future pump / best short-time invest on: August 22, 2017, 09:29:08 PM
I should have mentioned EBST but I'm embarrassed to, it's kind of a crappy coin with no long term potential imo.   But it just jumped 60% in the last 12 hours since I bought some.  Made myself 50% gains before I jumped ship.   Careful about buying any though, I think the party is over.  Never know though, still a lot of buys coming in.  EDIT: Party is definitely over.

Haven't heard of viacoin, I'll check that out.
274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: eBoost (EBST) - Getting ready for a pump? on: August 22, 2017, 09:22:46 PM
Well I got out at 5300 but it peaked at 6000.

Pump confirmed. Up 57% from the time I originally posted this.  I hope someone got a piece of that, I was just in for chump change, testing the waters.
275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: August 22, 2017, 08:09:32 PM
Everyone should put it on the record here now what they think they will be earning by the end of the year with the D3's.  That would be interesting to see who is closest to the real numbers.

I think December will start around $12 a day and end closer to $8.

There should be some sort of prize for the closest guess.  Free lapdance or something.
276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Future pump / best short-time invest on: August 22, 2017, 08:03:55 PM
GEO will pump tomorrow about 18-20 hrs from now

20-40% increase

Get out before the dump.
277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: eBoost (EBST) - Getting ready for a pump? on: August 22, 2017, 07:57:35 PM
Still looking strong.

If you get in, watch it closely, the fundamentals on this one are not great so I think long term it's going to end up right back where it started.  Could be a fun ride for a day or two though.
278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: August 22, 2017, 07:47:47 PM
Correlation does not imply causation. In this case, you're reversing the causation. Difficulty chases profitability (price), not the other way around. Whenever I hear someone say they think the price will go up because the difficulty is going up, it makes me wonder if they also believe that windmills create wind. After all, the faster windmills spin, the faster the wind seems to get  Wink.

Explain please.  AFAIK, Difficulty is the collective total of all miners on the Dash network at any given time (a projected 2 year average of this amount, if I understand correctly).  If that's the case, Difficulty does not chase profitability, unless you mean that un-profitable D3's will simply be unplugged and collect dust.
279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: August 22, 2017, 07:33:36 PM
yep...looks likes Bitmain has them marked as "scam" as well....according to their official blog news

Lol @ Bitmain calling other people a scam.

Not that I care about Gigawatt, at all (no opinion), but the blog post you're talking about, afaik, refers to the illegal and unlicensed use of Bitmain's logo and "reputation".  That's not really the same thing as calling Gigawatt a scam.

That said, it's very possible Gigawatt is a scam.  I'm not trying to defend them, just point out the difference between what you're implying and what Bitmain is actually upset about.
280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: August 22, 2017, 07:21:11 PM
I'm convinced the people here "worrying" about difficulty levels rising and "suggesting" people do anything OTHER than order a D3 are just fudding and in reality want all the D3's for themselves. Right now, these units have a 9 day ROI. even if earnings drop 4x you're still looking at ROI under 1 single month. Yes customs and bitmain website and order process are huge pains in the ass, but if you can get through it you're gonna do very well. don't listen to the people crowing about difficulty. When difficulty goes up, generally the value of the underlying coin goes up - JUST LIKE DASH IS EXPERIENCING RIGHT NOW. even though difficulty goes up, profitability does not proportionally decline.

anyway i got 14.

by the way, if you're serious about mining, you need to check out the gigawatt white paper and the WTT token.

I'd say that yes, generally diff increase and price increase go hand in hand.  But if you look at Dash value chart next to Dash diff chart... that does not appear to be the case here, the ratios are not the same, they're very different.  I think anyone expecting Dash to go up 5x-10x in value  just because diff went up 5x-10x over the next few months is going to be in for a nasty surprise.  It'll go up, but not as much as diff.

May 24, 2017
Dash Difficulty = 154k
Dash Value (USD) = $142

Aug 22, 2017
Dash Difficult = 1128k (730% of May 24 level)
Dash Value (USD) = $290 (204% of May 24 price)

Value does not go up as fast as difficulty.

Maybe you get more Dash when diff goes up per mined block?  I don't know.  But if the block reward stays consistent, and the gains have to be made by appreciation, what I'm seeing says Dash value will not go up anywhere near as much as Dash diff.

I wish everyone the best of luck with their D3's and similar next-gen Dash miners... but I think it's not going to be as amazing as people think.  Better be ready to hold that Dash a while.
