261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: which is best for bitcoin wallet? on: January 19, 2021, 01:48:17 AM
I can't say which wallet is the best, it will vary from person to person. Personally, I use Electrum Desktop and BlueWallet iOS for regular use and Coldcard wallet for cold storage.

I find this to be the best combination for my use case.
262  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: txfee.org neat bitcoin fees estimator and tx checker on: January 19, 2021, 01:15:46 AM
Good work. I like the simplistic UI.

Just one suggestion. It would be cool to see a fee comparison for SegWit vs Legacy transaction type on the page.

Similar to how this website does it: https://www.buybitcoinworldwide.com/fee-calculator/
263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The biggest Bitcoin fork is our destiny on: January 19, 2021, 12:50:13 AM
How do you figure out which UTXOs are simply unmoved because they are in cold storage versus them belonging to lost keys? That is just not possible due to how Bitcoin works.

Forks are just stupid. Community could use less forks imo.

267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How often are people really hacked out of their BTC? on: January 18, 2021, 01:36:06 AM
The only time I've gotten "hacked" was when my Bittrex account got compromised years ago. Attacker couldn't withdraw any BTC so they made a purchase on some ~0 volume coin. My guess is attacker placed a limit-sell order from their account at an exorbitant price and used my account to fill the order, leaving me with a bajillion shitcoins and them taking away my BTC. Still unsure whether it was done through password or API key. I realized it weeks after the fact and I didn't pursue it much after support told me "sorry can't help".

Lesson learned for life though. Never storing BTC on any exchanges. 2FA is a must, and no password re-use among different websites/exchanges.

This makes me wonder what the thought process of scammers/hackers who stole years ago is like now that BTC is ~$40k. Do they ever go "I stole x btc years ago, damn, now it's worth xxxxx. I should give it back". Do they feel guilty? Try to get back in touch with people who they stole from?

Is there any way to change the denomination? I realized I picked the wrong option after activating the subscription Cheesy Clicking on "Modify" only gives me the option to activate a new subscription. Can I PM you the order ID and perhaps you could adjust it?

Nvm. Think I'll keep it the same for the time being. Might re-subscribe in future if I wanna change it. Great work.

Congratulations, great collection. how many months / years? in getting all this

as written in the initial post, i started my collection in february 2020, at that time the satori chip roll and some single satori chips were the first items i won in an auction here.
since then i have been growing my collection more and more Grin

That's quite a progress for just one year. And let me tell you, your post was the one that finally inspired me to pull the trigger on CryptoArt Cheesy And now I am off to trying to collect all the pieces

The average CRYPTOMAT sold for around 3 bitcoins... of course the price of BTC was in the $200's back in those days

While these are rare, I don't think you would get anywhere near 3BTC for this watch at current BTC price.

I would offer something myself but I have no idea what a more realistic price for these will be. Maybe someone else can chime in?

I mean it is rare, you cannot buy them with fiat, I have never even seen one sold for fiat, they list their prices in fiat $880 USD typically retail but only payable in BTC at least back in 2014. I did pay ~3 BTC for it and it is a low number. I know some high profile Bitcoin figures owned these and possibly still do.

I am certainly open to offers...Hopefully maybe minerjones will chime in with more information on if any were sold as well 3rd party?

Hmm true. I see they're selling the newer editions for around the same ~$880 price range. I can certainly see the watch going for more than the original ~$880. My advice would be to look at it in terms of USD and not BTC or you'll get nowhere near finding a buyer. 3 BTC in 2014 wasn't worth the same as it is in 2021. Otherwise my old note3/note4 would be worth over a 100 grand today and my Steam library hundreds of thousands Cheesy

Also, you'll be better off using an escrow on this forum and not someone off site

Good luck with the sale Smiley
277  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is skipping meal a bad habit? on: January 16, 2021, 10:04:41 PM
As long as you're meeting your daily caloric and nutrient requirements I don't think skipping meals will any detrimental effects on your body. I skip breakfast most days and lunch some days and have yet to see any side effects.

Still, It's probably best to go with your doctor's suggestion. All human bodies are made different so what works for me might not necessarily work for you.
278  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BitcoinPrice.is - Real-time BTC <-> USD price conversion tool on: January 16, 2021, 09:52:47 PM
Added a few more currencies in addition to USD. You can now see prices in these currencies:
USD
EUR
GBP
CAD

Currency selector is in the footer.

If there's any other feature suggestions, please feel free to suggest. Cheesy I'll look into working some more on polishing the app further next weekend.

Still in my to-do:
Additional price sources
Additional stats (if that doesn't clutter the page too much)
Some cosmetic fixes

Good to see you like all the ideas.

The price is the tab is great. That was the biggest missing feature.

Thanks for the suggestions Cheesy Let me know if you think of anything else.
279  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 16, 2021, 04:57:17 PM
A lot of sideways movement past few hours. Things don't look very good in short term.

While moon is the most favorable outcome for most of us, a flash crash is welcome too because then we could put some more of that dirty fiat to good use.
