Waves could surely do an Etherium kind of moon in the coming months. But I am more bullish about NEO, they have a lot of development scheduled for 2018 and are getting into great partnerships. I think NEO is a better choice than waves right now.

Not sure why you want to buy coins that are under 1 USD. There are other coins out there which are above 1USD and has a great chance of doing a 1000% or a 10x in value, for instance look at NEO and Waves, these are cheap if you ask me.

You can use bittrex, poloniex, liqui or binance if you want to buy alt coins with your bitcoins or etherium. Make sure that you have a verified account at bittrex else you cant withdraw the money.

With the stabilizing price of bitcoin, etherium has begun rising in value. Ofcourse in terms of USD it had risen because of the rise in value of bitcoin, but now the ethbtc pair is also looking great and i think the next leg has begun.

I think Monero and Zcash are both good coins but in my opinion the best coin to buy right now is ZCoin. Moreover with the master nodes that they are setting up and Roger Ver being one of the bag holders, I am sure this will pump to the sky. Need to do more research about Darkcoin.

Binance is very much a legit exchange. Also other exchanges that you may want to consider are bittrex, cryptopia and poloniex. Yes, there is fee associated with trading in these exchanges, this is how they make money. Also you need to find the btc address(unique to your account) and can transfer your coins there.
