got it working apparently. I was using the old bitcoin.exe short cut which caused the problem. I was able to switch out the corrupted blk with a backup. Thanks

Finally got my account merged over. Killed some old dead scam assets I had bought Sad other then that everything is there.

Every time I click deposit/withdraw a new deposit address shows up. Can I save one address and use it over and over without any problems?

Yeah I need to change that, do people really prefer to use just the one address?

it would be nice to be able to do both..

Agreed. A button to generate another address seems like a good idea. Deposit/withdraw page should show all your deposit address then too.

I dont see the need for more then one unless people start getting paid directly into there GLBSE account and want to give each person a new deposit address.(does anyone do this?) My wallet is on a old PC which I only keep to hold my wallet its only on to make transactions and catch up to the blockchain. I try to avoid using the internet. One way of doing that is by keeping a notepad of important deposit address.

Also a note on BTC reserves, when you make a buy order it reserves BTC in your account for that order, if you need those funds you need to cancel the order first.

This stops people making orders when they don't have the funds to back it up.

Does this help?
Good feature it helps and stops fake orders.

But server, if you absolutely insist on forgetting, then I have a very intriguing business proposal for you!  Shocked

It looks like GLBSE v2 solved my problem, all sin is vanished Grin

I said the same thing byebye SIN. Didnt lose TOO much in all of this but it still hurt.

267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Cant start 0.6 RC4 on: March 25, 2012, 02:50:12 PM

So I updated to 0.5.3 2 weeks ago from version 3.21beta~(something around there) Shortly after updating the security bug was found so I updated to 0.6 RC4. It worked for a few days. Now when I try to run bitcoin.exe I get the following errors.

What do I need to do to gain access to my wallet again?

Log out should be the last option or maybe the first option it looks funny being in the middle of everything.
271  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Girls of Reddit's r/GoneWild on: March 24, 2012, 02:35:29 PM
get the girl a little card with a QR code on it, and her picture.  And something where the money goes straight to her bank account.

like this

https://pimpcoin.com

Awesome website. Did you only make that since the start of this topic? If i walked into a strip club and saw a girl with one I would send her some coins for sure.

Bitcoin - an idea worth spreading for.
best slogan.
272  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Free Yubikey on: March 24, 2012, 01:28:36 PM
That's what I get for not reading through properly. I read "I got a Mt. Gox Free Yubikey" and skipped the rest... I already got one for free from MtGox so I'll just retract myself from further bidding.

Does that mean it goes back to my 1.1?

marked

I dont think it works that way. if someone stops bidding in an auction the price doesnt drop back down to before that person started bidding.

OP should declare an end date for bidding(dont know how people can bid without this) and have this moved to auction board.
273  Economy / Marketplace / Re: [Mining Contract] 9.85Gh 100 day mining contract on: March 24, 2012, 02:01:47 AM
Sorry not a miner but interested in getting into.

Could you please explain why this could be very profitable? the chances of getting the 50btc reward more than once are pretty slim.

again apologies for my ignorance.
Point @ pool = no need to find a block.

Mining contract costs (@ $4.7/BTC) ~$3,055 and (guesstimating and not assuming difficulty increase) pays out $3027.50 assuming no inefficiencies or fees. However, assuming a 20% increase over standard rates (which is certainly not unheard of, and it probably wouldn't be difficult for experienced folks to get significantly higher), revenues should be ~$3,633 at the end of contract assuming no price change in exchange rate (which is.... lol).  $578 profit over a bit over 3 months (off the top of my head, will guesstimate that as 3.3 months). $175.15 profit/month, or a bit under 6% MPR. But there are so many variables, it's a big shot in the dark as to whether or not you'll make a profit in fiat (and a shot in the dark as to whether or not you'll profit in BTC, though terms are probably quite favorable for the buyer). Still, given it's a "loan" to giga, it's probably pretty reasonable to assume it's an extremely-low-risk loan (as far as breach of contract goes).

That all assumes my math is correct, which is quite questionable.

didnt do the math out myself but those numbers look correct. like you said its a shot in the dark. that offer of 620BTC seems alright problem is most people with that many bitcoins are probably investing it in something more solid.(better rate)

hope you find someone willing to give it a shot. I dont know gigavps but Iv seen his posts around the forums, he looks like a good guy.

he cleared out the topic post too which isnt a good sign. He seems he scammed at least one other guy as well. I knew that deal was to good to be true. I was tempted to buy one myself but I was betting that they were stolen, refurbished or a scam.

Its not fun to lose any money ESPECIALLY to a scammer but at least is was only 8BTC.
275  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Open Ended Investment Opportunity on: March 22, 2012, 01:44:47 PM
increasing 1% every 2 periods is very slow. Id be happy and want to invest more if it was 1% every period until you reach a max limit. it would still take 10weeks. A weekly/biweekly pm letting us know how much me have invested and how much divided is payout would be nice.

It would be more work but perhaps make some short term investment plans. There seems to be a few guys around who like short term plans.
1 week = 2%
1 month = 8%
2 months = 15%

Is that 15% for the 2 months? If so, that's less than investing 8% for a single month.
[/quote]

Ya. I was just trying to make up some numbers for short term investment plans. I guess 20% might of been better. Im actually wouldn't go for those plans myself but some might.

I voted for By duration of deposit.

278  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Open Ended Investment Opportunity on: March 19, 2012, 11:48:05 PM
Just a quick query..  I have more opportunities and could use additional capital.  What would motivate a person to invest or if already invested, to invest more?  Would a flat rate be the better route?

nicely worded article. very straight forward and easy to understand. even those with limiting coding knowledge should get it.
