261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin/alts in your will (?) on: January 20, 2018, 09:09:28 PM
I was thinking the other day that if something happened to me and I was unable to speak or was in a coma, some of my BTC and 'alts' may be locked up forever...?

My brother is into cryptos, so he may be able to get into my Ledger Nano S w/the 24 word private key (which he would need to find), but there are other wallets w/pass phrases and keys to get into. He would need to search around for them on my PC, laptop, external HD, thumbdrive....  And if I placed a password to access them in a file, he would never get in...

Do people here have a plan to 'will' their cryptos to their families?  If your parents, brother, sister, etc.. are not technically inclined or do not know anything about BTC, are they even going to gain access to them? (If they even know you have them...)

Accidents happen and you really never know what is going to happen to you each and every day. (I'm >50 and can have a heart attack!)  Well actually I'm in decent shape b/c I'm a cyclist. That being said, I can have a cycling related accident... (both road and mtb for those interested)   Smiley

I'll probably end up producing a paper list to give to my brother. It's not really safe to have electronic copies of passwords/private keys lying around and on a PC that you connect on-line...

Ideas?  Do others have access to your crypto stash?

Go to the lawyer and ask about it. Also you must leave your password and username in your will so that they can accessed your account and encash your coins. Put everything in safe place with the person whom you trusted. Having a will will make your investements worthy when you die because your beneficiaries can use them.
262  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin's threat on: January 19, 2018, 02:44:59 PM
I really think that the creation of new E currency is a threat to bitcoin.
Like for example. Some investors may move their investments to other currency made.
If bitcoin for example has 100 investors in all, then several currency is made with the same value as bitcoin. (we say 3 currency)
then the 100 investors may move to other 3 currency to find more specific or easier way to earn money or inflate their investments.
Do you think these probability will occur?
It is a good thing I think because new coins in the market means new healthy competitions. Investors will be very happy to see new coins and to invest with. Just be cool and always think positive. Bitcoin is already in the market and has placed itself in the stardom.
263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beaware of social engineering phishing on: January 19, 2018, 02:41:37 PM
Cautionary tales

Someone created a fake mirror site of the official coin TRX and then promised an "airdrop" if one transfers eth/trx into that wallet...

the fake site has exactly the same details as the legit one barring for a different domain name...

people have already lost tens of thousands to the scam, be aware of promise of free coins or airdrops
why would people do that to those people who are working very hard just to make a good living out of coins. These people are so much greedy that they need to do such things. For us hardworking people, please be very careful and vigilant in the sites and in the offers like that. Check and investigate before you join.
264  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hold or Sell on: January 18, 2018, 01:30:41 AM
today the price of BTC is down by -36%.
For those of you Bitcoin owners what are your plans in these circumstances?
  • Hold your Bitcoin?
  • Selling Your Bitcoin?
and would you like to give me a reason. thanks. Smiley
I will keep on holding the bitcoin because this is just a temporary effect of Bitcoin's price drop. Big whales are controlling the bitcoin price so that many people will sell their bitcoin in low price then these whlaes will be able to buy their bitcoin in lower price as well.
265  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm gonna sell my house on: January 17, 2018, 09:36:52 AM
I am sure we touched the bottom today. so i am going to real Estate Dealer for selling my house and buy bitcoin. I suggest you all do that
If that's the best option you have to sell your house, then go on. But I suggest dont do that and I wont do it. Why sell your home for bitcoin if you can just sell some in your house that has value to buy bitcoin. Dont let yourself sleep on the street and beg for food.
266  Economy / Speculation / Re: SELL EVERYTHING!!! on: January 17, 2018, 09:31:42 AM
I'm gonna be honest with you all , i have been trading/investing since 2017.

I earned about 110.000 by trading and basically lost it all, i decided to sell the rest and just quit. I'm gonna explain why, this cryptocurrency market
is very manipulative and can easily be controlled and it will never stop. The icos/alts will always keep sucking all the btc cash so it will always be hard for btc to grow and
dominate.

This market is made to make money and profit from noobs it's like a bitconnect scheme. Every dollar that is made by someone, someone will lose money. Every dollar that
is made in this system will be sold to fiat and if there is low btc buy power it will mean that btc will only keep going down. This market is basically made to make
money from new users like a scheme. For example can you actually believe that if you would've put 10k usd into bitconnect you would have a monthly return of about 4500
every month by lending? This is unbelievably high which again means for every btc/dollar you lend out into this cryptocurrency system = someone will lose money that's
the main reason this market won't be there for long. Because it's basically a pyramid scheme.

I agree on you. What is happening in the crypto world. All coins are losing their values. The main coins really drops! I have to sell some of my coins too so that I can still have some money. I hope this wont last and cryptos will recover soon.
267  Economy / Economics / Re: Do bitcoin millonaires deserve their wealth? on: January 16, 2018, 03:02:50 PM
It is know that bitcoin has made a few millionaires, but many of these people donīt have any particular knowledge of the economy nor business. Do you think that is a fair situation?
That's a well-deserved wealth for those who became millionaire in Bitcoin. Having a knowledge in exonomy or business doesnt guarantee of becoming millionare. It is all about your hardwork and persistence in investing and keeping your eyes on your investements. Anyhow, their money comes from legal way and they dont abuse anyone.
268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can myetherwallet get hacked? on: January 16, 2018, 02:59:39 PM
Hi, i have backupped my pvkeys on an usb stick. I wrote it also down on a piece of paper. My computer broke. I put a metal pin through the harddrives. I will not buy a new pc soon. So i wont check in on myetherwallet for some time. I cant click on phishing links. My question is : are my funds safe? Can myetherwallet get hacked? Can my funds dissapear even when i have no computer, hid my keys? Im to stupid to work with a ledger or trezor. Can something happen to it like with the parity/kill?
No it wont be hacked and you are safe right now. But if ever you are tempt to open it, just make sure that the website is correct, avoid phising sites. Also, your private key is in the right place but make sure that nobody knows where you hide them.
269  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin now makes me feel a bit worried. on: January 16, 2018, 02:56:39 PM
Quotes are in decline for many coins now. This situation makes me a little nervous, what should I do now?
Dont worry too much. Just sit back and relax. I have investments too in bitcoin. The price is still on the normal value. However if the decreasing event will continue, we'll be worried too. Right now, let's just pray that it wont happen.

272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty Program on: January 15, 2018, 11:17:40 AM
Can anybody suggest where I can find all bounty programs in a single forum?
You go to Alternate Cryptocurrencies section then go to Bounties childboard. You can find a lot of bouties in that single forum. Just pick the right bounty for your rank and choose the best bounty program according to your preferences. Goodluck on your bounty hunting!

274  Economy / Economics / Re: When will more retailers accept Bitcoin on: January 13, 2018, 05:29:16 AM
"Japan: No Bitcoin Tax, Thousands of Stores to Accept the Cryptocurrency"

article published July, 5, 2017
https://edgylabs.com/2017/07/05/japan-no-bitcoin-tax-stores-accept-cryptocurrency/

"AirRegi is a widely used, tablet-based point-of-sale app in Japan. Currently, around 260,000 establishments, stores, and commercial facilities use this proprietary app to accept payments from their clients."

It makes sense that a transition to accept bitcoin would be underway for more US-based stores.
To the first world countries, I think it would be possible for this to happen. They have all the resources they needed in bitcoin transation especially the speed of the internet connection. But for the countries with problems of internet and other aspects, it will be difficult.
275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Where do you find your news? on: January 13, 2018, 04:33:50 AM
What websites (besides this forum) or other sources do you use to get news about your coins?
I read on bitcointalk but have the feeling that I miss a lot of interesting news about the coins I own (currently BTC, OMG, ADX, SUB, KMD, ARK, BLOCK, ETH) and would like to stay more 'in the news'.

Thanks in advance for your reply!
A lot of news website about cryptocurrencies are available in the internet. Most of them are in the steemit, medium and other idependent website. Also there are many independent bloggers who update us about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. It is just depend on us which we will beleive.
276  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin contribution to world economy on: January 12, 2018, 03:24:17 AM
How do you think bitcoin will affect the world economy by 2028?
That's still a too far year to predict. We dont know whAt will happen. But I think bitcoin will continue to eveolve in the digital world. Many altcoins will exist, will die and will maintain their strong positions. On bitcoin, I beleieve it will continue to move forward and the economist will adopt and make adjustments for bitcoin's to be used in every community.
277  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin Volatility A Bad Thing? on: January 11, 2018, 01:21:23 PM
Steam dropped bitcoin support citing "high volatility" as a motive.

When amazon stock jumped from $18 to $1,200 over a period of years, was this high volatility a bad thing?

If bitcoin's value increases from $6,000 to $16,000 over a period of months, and HODL'ers benefit, this high volatility is bad?

Where does the idea of high volatility being an unnecessary evil come from?

Are there good arguments or evidence which support the concept of high volatility being a negative circumstance?

In a sense, volatility simply means the price of something moves a lot, its not that bad if the vast majority of motion is in an upward direction?

 Huh Huh Huh
As for me, Bitcoin's volatility is not a bad thing afterall. It means flexibility for me. It can go on different situations. If the price will drop, then investors can afford to buy and hold it. If the price goes up, then its time to sell and have a good profit. The volatility of Bitcoin gives a good chance to everyone to buy and sell, to gain and to profit.
278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stay away from the cryptomarket for a while. on: January 11, 2018, 01:11:10 PM
It is better to stay away from the market for now as nobody knows what's happening. So it is better not to waste your money for now and don't listen to comments saying " it is a bargain time, it is the buying time , it is a correction time, ....
I understand your point that you are concern to the people doing transaction in crypto market. However, the market is in normal condition, i think. There is nothing to be scared of. Every market experience downfalls and the products are also experiencing drops. But we have to move and grab this chance, be a risk taker.

280  Economy / Economics / Re: Many new rich people are created from Bitcoin on: January 10, 2018, 11:26:37 AM
bitcoin prices continue to rise as this is one of the causes of increased bitcoin users, whose goal is to change a much better standard of living, give your feedback on this?
If you are just into bounties and waiting for your tokens to be converted into Bitcoin, I think becoming rich will take a little longer or longer as you are expecting. But if you are investor and miner of Bitcoin, becoming rich is at your hands. Those rich people because of Bitcoin are those with a large number of it.
