262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best Config for Mining X11 with R9 280x on: January 13, 2015, 04:23:21 PM
Hello,

This is my current bat file to start the miner:

Code:
set GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=60

sgminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://eu.multipool.us:11111 -u PabiGamito.1 -p x -I 18 -g 2 --thread-concurrency 8192 --lookup-gap 2 --worksize 128 --gpu-engine 1033 --gpu-memclock 1500 --auto-fan --temp-target 72 --temp-cutoff 85 --temp-overheat 80

What would you suggest I add to the config or chage to get the bes harshrates for my GPU.

Thank you.

You got no choice but to try it yourself (increasing the engine slowly and memory clock slowly), not all GPU work the same and different batch also means different result.
263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: So will 2015 be the year that home mining ends? on: January 13, 2015, 04:19:49 PM

Wow - so I guess I feel a little depressed.

1.  No new Scrypt mining hardware.

2.  Everything went to the Ponzi-Mining -- which is starting to collapse for many.

3.  Most alt coins are becoming less profitable to mine.

I don't really see any of these alt coins becoming mainstream.  Does anyone?  So much for LTC being BTC's silver?  LOL

I mean each one says it does this or that or supports something new and exciting - but no one is really using them for anything but trading to BTC in the end.

Any new ideas / technologies to come?  Or is this going to be the end year of home mining (no matter how you do it -- CPU / GPU / ASIC).

I have been interested in the hard drive BURST mining.  It is something different at least, but I guess that could easily be taken over by huge cloud drives as well.

Not only it is end for home mining, it is also end for some big company like cex.io. They have high maintenance fee..

265  Economy / Speculation / Re: who said 2015 will be year of bitcoin? Everyone sell your BTC at high on: January 13, 2015, 04:15:35 PM
Title says every thing. Its Jan 2015 and BTC price is dumped again nearing 200$?HuhHuh Whats happening with this crypto
I am so sad

Well, I am also waiting for it to bull run Sad. Unfortunately, too many people waiting for that and couldn't wait anymore so everyone start dumping the market.
266  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: FPGA's and Mining on: January 13, 2015, 04:14:34 PM
No use from those FPGA's nowadays. Sad.

Not really, if you can make the FPGA to mine x11 or any other new algo then it will be very profitable.

268  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Is faucet profitable ? on: January 13, 2015, 03:42:09 PM
Huh
Hello
Is making new bitcoin faucet is profitable ?
Thank you .

It is profitable if you have lots of traffics, but there is too many faucets already in the market. Not easy for you to get a lot of traffics.
269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best Coin to Mine with a GPU on: January 13, 2015, 03:40:18 PM
GPU mining is profitable with private kernels, you have to pay select forum members a couple BTC for them though and it's unprofitable to mine with public kernels because of it. That's it.

GPU mining will never be profitable again unless someone develops a product that will actually be developed over time and not private kernels that are sold in the background you never know about.

Well, the profitability is so low that even with private kernal that gives 2x the hashrate (assuming power stay the same) is still not making any profit. And private kernels usually consume more power so its still not worth mining.
270  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: The best cloud mining site !!! on: January 10, 2015, 03:43:37 PM
Definitely hashnest.com. Best Cloud mining site.
271  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Free electricity... Should I buy a miner? (Antminer S1?) on: January 10, 2015, 03:40:22 PM
I think that an antminer S5 is you best option because the have relatively low power consumption and they produce low noise.
Spondoolies SP20 is also a good option but the fan is loud according to reviews.
I personally have a fishtank and I intend to buy some prisma blades, just the blades and immerse them in cooling fluid. It's the cheapest and quietest option.

the s-5 is crazy loud worse then the sp20

Change the fan and the noise would go away. They ship with really bad fans.
272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU miners, welcome on: January 10, 2015, 03:34:17 PM
I want to buy a graphics card to mine some coins. I want to learn and earn at a time Tongue
Please recommend me graphics card with low price with relatively good performance.

And regarding USB mining hardware, how they work ? May I use them to mine in a average pc ?

if you have free electricity or very cheap one you could try with one gtx 970 which is good for gaming also, otherwise 750ti

If you have free power, buy AMD.

I dont get it why? Unless you are talking about used AMD GPU.
273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Anyone have 10+ or more GPU's they want to sell? on: January 10, 2015, 03:32:26 PM
Message to mods: Please find it in your heart not to move this thread. I posted in Computer Hardware and there were no replies! People in Mining (Altcoins) have GPUs they want to sell.

So, I want to buy:

ANY GPU: 7950 and OVER for 10+ quantities of the same Make/Model (please no messages if you have less than 10 of the same type).

7950: $85 each
r9 270: $70 each
r9 270x: $70 each
r9 280: $100 each
r9 280x: $120 each
r9 290: $170 each
r9 290x: $200 each

If MSI, broken fan is OK, -$5.00 per GPU

if ANY OTHER MANUFACTURER, broken fan is NOT OK, fan must spin perfectly with absolutely no noise (do a finger spin test).

At least mention which country are you in? Shipping cost is really high nowadays..

Bob Marley - Buffalo Soldier
275  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Why isn't mining hardware plunging in price? on: January 07, 2015, 02:40:14 PM
It seems Antminer and Spondoolies are still too high. BTC price is down, difficulty is up.... is having a bitcoin mining hobby that much fun that it keeps the price so high???

Actually the price has drop a lot, it is only 0.24$ per GH/s as compare to 1$ per GH/s few months back.
276  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S5 power suply on: January 07, 2015, 02:38:57 PM
just for a moment lets think outside the box :

you dont need a power supply if you have a solar grid with a 12 volt battery.

you connect the solar setup directly to the miner with no PSU needed.

just saying ... buy solar no more psu's and goverment electricity.

Sounds like a good idea, but anybody tried it?
277  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Antminer C2 speculation thread on: January 07, 2015, 02:04:34 PM
Hi.

I have 2 antminer C1 units. They works perfectly.
I would like to expand my hashrate.

Will be C2 produced with new bitmain chips?

If yes, when ?

Thanks

I dont think they are coming out with C2 so soon, probably S6 first and S7 before C2 came out.
278  Economy / Speculation / Re: What's your action once Bitstamp reopens? on: January 07, 2015, 01:32:46 PM
Withdraw all the BTC and keep it in my wallet..
279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Where to GPU-mine atm on: January 07, 2015, 01:00:53 PM
Feathercoin is Asic resistant and can only be mined with GPU or CPU. I've been mining the hell out of it since it change to NeoScrypt and find it to be very profitable.

i made some math, and neoscrypt come unprofitable also, where you see all that profit?

Agree, none of the algo is profitable now. Neoscrypt only profit for the first few days when it launch and after that profit drop sharply too.
280  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: What's the quietest, most power miner if you don't care about power efficiency on: January 07, 2015, 12:58:34 PM
Like the title says.  I don't pay for hydro so I'm not worried about my consumption at all.  I want to mine out of my apartment so noise and hashrate are my only 2 concerns.  What would be the best I could buy that is quiet and under $1k

Buy antminer S5 and a quite fan. Replace the fan on antminer S5 and you have a quite high hash machine Smiley
