I'm doing a research project on coin distribution for both older and new coins. I'm interested on gathering some data for top addresses and how much of the coins the top100 have. This along with the number of people (addresses) actually holding any amount of coins.
I have some info from bitinfocharts on a few coins but I really do need some data on other coins along with less exposed or new ones.
If anyone knows an explorer with this feature drop a line.
Just write a script that parses the entire blockchain to look for addresses with most HUC.

Is anyone interested in joining a datacoin foundation? Just out of curiosity? If there was a foundation committed to finding a developer, we would need engineers of marketing people (mostly engineers at this time because we need to reestablish datacoin). I am a bit busy with Riecoin but I can commit a bit of my time to a datacoin foundation. http://datacoinfoundation.org/

Can someone comment on the technical aspect of this coin? Any innovations?
Yea. Plenty if its real. It is similar to Datacoin and Skycoin to put in simple comparison. Except for it is a scam and nothing but a scam and only a fool would invest in here. Any poster that tells you to invest are either part of his crew and most likely a newbie status. DO NOT TRUST!

I will release the list of transactions on here and the community can view if their transaction has been added or not.

Update on the foundation: We are still trying to get funds and see where we stand. At the moment, we have around 1100 RIC more or less, unless I missed some tx id. We will try to write a script that lets us search by address (download the entire blockchain and parse certain information) but it would be faster if a block explorer had a search by address option.
Faucet is ready to go with some cosmetic fixes. Just need hosting that can have unlimited database entry.
You missed a tx from ypool. I believe jh sent you email. Yup. I will check with the list to see if I missed it and get back to him. We are missing a 400 RIC donation because one of our member did not give us the tx id. He is out of town so hopefully he will when he gets back.

Lets play Find The Smartcoin Logo! The current logo is invisible on a majority of websites.. Just saying
Although I do think that the logo is a bit on the Jony Ive side, I also agree that it's serviceable and not the priority at this point. When I brought it up earlier I was only wondering about the leaning-backwards issue, and wasn't meaning to open up the whole can of worms. If the Dev wants to use psionin's more visually-balanced version, great, but if not I'll still be supporting SMC with my modest hashrate regardless.... Honestly, a slight change to make the background midnight purple will do the trick to attract people.

I can't get the wallet to sync.
Been trying for a few days now, both on Win 7 and Win 8.1.
It crashes on around 6 days left to sync and I get this in the debug.log:
EXCEPTION: St13runtime_error CDB() : can't open database file wallet.dat, error -30974 C:\Dev\Wallet\riecoin\riecoin-qt.exe in Runaway exception
2014-04-13 20:22:21 EnvShutdown exception: DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database recovery (-30974)
Wallet is v0.8.7-beta, I have deleted all in roaming several times (not wallet.dat) and it starts up fast in the beginning but after a while it is really slow to sync, takes longer than a full Bitcoin sync I would guess if it ever would finish.
Any hints or insights on what I could try? Not using a .conf file either.
I got that problem with another coin of mine. What I did was downloaded a slightly older version and synced from there (make sure that the version you are using right now isnt a fork or mandatory update of the older version). Another problem could be that your riecoin qt client is in a hidden folder.

I think since I havn't found a proper way to search by address without leaving my computer on for 24 hrs, the faucet will be manual-operated.

500 RIC to a working block explorer that can search by address (please note that this is my personal fund and not the foundation's fund. Not using the foundation fund recklessly so do not worry ).

hi people!
I've been very busy these days... a couple of exchanges added support for RIC since last weekly update but I didn't find the time to update the website yet. They are in the OP though. I'm the middle of a transition that is keeping me very busy. I quit my daily job: I'll be an entrepreneur and sometimes freelancer instead of an employee. I expect this means I'll have more time for RIC soon.
My immediate to-do list:
- new core release - stratum miners/proxy - and now, open source xpt pool server
And right after that:
- the paper! - gpu miner
yours truly, gatra
Thanks for the update!

Doesn't work for me. Trying to create a lookup address wallet on faucet to show how much are left in faucet. would something like calling the getbalance rpc of riecoind from php work for you? I could do that I guess but then I'd have to leave my computer running all day to check whether we have a enough balance when someone request RIC out of a faucet :\. Fortunately, one of our foundation member is still developing a block explorer that can search by address but it'll take some time.

The problem I see with this coin is that it was too centralized, leaving one person to control all the wolf to burn. In addition to it having nearly no innovation except the burning concept.

Man. I feel for whoever invested in this coin. The coin sure is insane.

Anyone know if we have a block explorer that can search by address?
