261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CoinsSource influenced by SDC pump'n'dump group! Evidence inside. on: November 04, 2014, 09:29:31 PM
Altcoin scene has been taken advantage of during the past year by many of these pump and dump groups completely. Now that the blood is thin and no one is falling for their schemes, they turn on each other.

Real money is watching. They are not impressed, to say the least.
262  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Foundation to repair relationship with community on: November 03, 2014, 08:59:09 AM
BTC foundation seem to have gone off the wrong road, and I have not seen any evidence it is even trying to get back on the right track.

If someone is looking for focused, realistic individuals/groups of professional caliber, there are some already starting to move with real money backing them, few of them with backings greater than BTC Foundation.

Yes, greater then BTC foundation. In fact, greater by orders of magnitude. Big money does see the potential in this new technology, but official groundwork needs to be laid thoroughly before any real money starts trickling in from big hands. They see the scene currently for what it is, and are not amateurish enough to just throw money at this corrupt, chaotic scene.

Some are even active in these forums. Do a little digging, and you will find them. Most of the time, they are not marketing themselves out to the degree most profiteers do these days with their coins and projects - that's one good indicator.

There are gems in the sand, and overlooked voices of reality among all the pump and dumping profiteers.
263  Economy / Lending / Re: Offering BTC LOANS up to 10 BTC! (Collateral & no-collateral, ask) on: November 03, 2014, 08:53:19 AM
Forgot you wanted it posted directly here, so this is a copy of my loan offering:

Amount: Total 7.58 btc, 4.5 btc available.

Duration: 30-45 days (can be paid back earlier depending on negotiations)

Repayment amount: Principle + 10% interest (4.95 btc) again, negotiable up to 15%.

Loan purpose: I am deeply involved in btc trades and also in the altcoin scene. My previous transactions in the trust category can speak for themselves. At the moment I am building up capital for a significant investment into a proven technology and trading projects that should take off soon. Feel free to ask me any question about my past trades and purposes for this loan.

Austin previously loaned a good portion to me for the loan, and has agreed to roll over the entire amount plus interest to the current one. That portion is set aside for austin alone, you have up to 4.5 btc and corresponding collateral you can loan for - you can check the previous thread here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=751645.0;all

I can provide a collateral in different coins to cover most of the loan at the current market price, if that would ease your concerns due to this request being a relatively large amount. Escrow will be the one we both agree on that can be trusted to hold the collateral.

Also, you can say my collateral is my reputation not only on btc talk forum trading reputation, but also my crypto reputation in general (irc, twitter, other forums etc) since people i work with know my forum handle. I would like to state this just to make clear what I am proposing.

Thank you for taking time to read this request - I have posted in several threads seeking a loan for similar conditions. Anyone who comes first will have priority in terms of negotiations.

Most terms are negotiable, and collateral covers 100% at slightly below current market rates, meaning you will most likely end up with 110% of the loan as a collateral.

Once again, up to 4.5 btc loan accepted for corresponding collateral.

Thank you in advance

Edit: Adjusted for new collateral amount and corresponding loan amount available on 10/31.
264  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I warned you on: November 03, 2014, 08:32:12 AM
I've been warning Bitcoiners for over a year about the dangers of the big, centralized exchanges like CoinBase, BTC-E, and BitStamp.

These exchanges are manipulating the price of Bitcoin on a colossal scale.  Just as the Karpeles 'trading bot' pumped the price of BTC last November, new trading bots at the big exchanges are artificially deflating the price so they can 'buy in' at the lowest rates.

see https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/bitcoin-price-manipulation-centralized-exchanges-seems-coordinated/

Do not believe the current price of Bitcoin - it is not representative of the true value and potential of the currency.

THE PRICE OF BITCOIN AS QUOTED ON THE MAJOR EXCHANGES IS A COMPLETE AND UTTER FRAUD.

Question is, why would they NOT manipulate this enormous, unregulated, gullible market full of people wanting to get rich off of magic internet beans?

It's a con 's wet dream.
265  Economy / Lending / Re: Medium Loan Request - 10-15% Interest, 30-45 days, Collateral and Escrow on: November 02, 2014, 06:44:16 PM
Can you be more specific as to what collateral you are offering? It is obviously alt coins, but can you be more specific as to what alt coin you can provide?

EDIT: @Watoshi-Dimobuto - escrow is to protect the borrower from you running away with his collateral either as soon as he gives it to you (and before you send him the loan) or after he pays you back.

I sent you a pm - certain details are confidential, but we are free to post here confirmations for public records when deals are sealed.
What is the collateral if I were to lend entire amount?

PM Sent. Verification and public disclosure to follow in case of deal being sealed.

Offer still on going.
Why does it need to be such a big secret as to what the collateral you are going to offer is? Also I see in your other thread from ~a month ago that you would not agree to have the collateral liquidated in the event the value of the collateral were to drop below the amount of the loan. This alone would be a red flag for me (even with your positive trust) as it would mean that you may not be able to repay the loan if the collateral drops in value by too much

Not every trader and investor is required to disclose all the details of individual transactions to any uninvolved persons in public. If some decide that certain details are to be confidential, then it's not your place to question their dealings as long as respective parties negotiate fairly and post public confirmations to that regard. If someone is interested enough to directly message me, of course they will be privy to the details upon tacit agreement that such information are kept confidential on all sides.

Also, liquidating the collateral option is one I rejected and continue to reject, simply because the sheer volatility of crypto currency makes this a very disadvantageous move. There are certain compromises and negotiable factors I am willing to consider, but anyone with a hint about investment and trading will understand such a clause in this environment is a great liability. Perhaps you also do not even think about the fact that I am essentially forfeiting any chance to capitalize on profits from the collateralized assets in the event they increase drastically in price. It's a trade off with risks and potential loss of profits for both sides involved - everyone is taking a risk in one way or another.

I do not understand why you would consider either of these 'red flags' aside from the fact that my policy regarding either situations simply does not play to your profits or comfort.

That's too bad - and it's also not your place to question them.

If you like to deal fairly and negotiate specific terms, feel free to send PM and we can discuss them. All are taking certain risks in these deals, and I try to reach the fairest deal possible.
266  Economy / Speculation / Re: Japan is new China? on: November 02, 2014, 06:23:20 PM
Just a hint.

China did not drive the last pump. It was hype and mt.gox.

China is much bigger than japan by orders of magnitude, both in economy and strength of character.

Amazing that both your hints are actually plain wrong.

I am sure you have a wealth of personal experience and insight on both Smiley

Well you can fact check the first by looking at the charts and corresponding volume from that time period. Do you really need someone to tell you that China's economy is not orders of magnitude larger than Japan's?

Now that was quite weak Smiley

I know a lot of people are bullish about these asset exchanges but I have yet to be convinced.  I'm somewhat peeved about James creating 500 billion NXT capitalization worth of assets (500 times the total supply of NXT) and I am alleging this could be a factor in NXT's continuing $Fiat decline.   I'm not sure how more rules would stop this sort of inflation or protect investors beyond forcing legal liability on the person issuing said assets.

Definitely, I think they have potential but it will depend on the intended audience, intended use and whether guidelines cripple or embrace the potential of the tech. None of this is officially related to SuperNet or James' work nor have I had contact with him, although I admit the increase in support for and prevalence of coins on platforms (especially on NXT) played a role. I do worry about the effect an influx of assets would have on the underlying currency since it seems likely a lot would be cashed out once raised.

Interesting all around. This approach can definitely make a difference and advance crypto in a direction that would be both productive and efficient by making use of multiple platforms.

Looks interesting, but I wonder why you want to make a whole new project instead of incorporating into an existing project? For example NEM's asset exchange that we are planning already will support a lot of what you want.

From what I can tell, the core vision and purpose completely stands on its own.
273  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is better than any other cryptocurrency on: November 01, 2014, 07:41:20 AM
Bitcoin is currently better then any other alternative because there is so much more attention, spread, distribution and public recognition of its idea more than others.

It will not remain that way forever if new players enter. I might take 1 year, or 3. Bitcoin will not be the king forever.

The whole crypto scene has not seen a legitimate, much less effective and realistic project in a long time.

That will change. Starting here.

I am starting to work on the noblecoin poster: any preferences about the themes ?

EDIT: I was planning to make a poster focused on the ethics.

Include eagle motif in there somewhere - reference rofo's tweets.
276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto ICO's are killing Bitcoin. on: October 31, 2014, 06:12:27 PM
So first it was the mining pools killing bitcoin, then it was altcoins killing bitcoin, then it was the bitcoin foundation killing bitcoin, then it was regulation from governments killing bitcoin, then it was exchanges killing bitcoin, now its ICO's killing bitcoin....What's next, your dog ate my bitcoin private keys so he's killing bitcoin too?

Try focusing your thoughts better, Big Corporations that accept bitcoin, sell it for fiat immediately, such as Newegg, Overstock(they still keep a few % of their bitcoin sales in bitcoin however), Dell, etc etc. They are what causes the Bitcoin price to become stagnant(good thing), or decrease from the sell pressure(bad thing), not ico's.

You had it on the first paragraph then said the same thing he did on the second.

The responsibility of integration of bitcoin to economic ecosystem and current structures lies with you, not them. It is the lack of right approach which is the issue.
277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: THE SLEEPERS : good Alt Coins going unnoticed on: October 31, 2014, 06:00:33 PM
NobleCoin should be at the top of your list. It has some of the best, most trustworthy devs in the scene, and has a larger ecosystem than many of the top 20 coinmarketcap coins. They were also one first to hit the scene with an openbazzar marketplace.

You can also buy anything, including amazon and steam gift cards for 15% off when paying in Nobl  Wink

I second this idea, and also the most recently posted relative to nobl, NOXT.

Here is the current pre-ann thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=841741.new#new

Gems go unnoticed in this scene because too many are chasing quick profits. Good projects are rolling in with changing scenery and environment, and NOXT and nobl is essentially leading the way.
278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Pre-ANN][NOXT] - NobleNXT Proposal/Whitepaper - ICO - Noble's 1st Colored Coin on: October 31, 2014, 05:41:34 PM
Most projects require genuine funding and kickstarter to begin. Any project that really wants to go mainstream at current conditions, that is. I would consider that a sign of legitimacy in combination with Rofo's public and  genuine devotion to his project. Not to mention potential big investors who just might be interested Smiley

This is a pre-ann and very premature discussion stage, so let's keep that in mind and share any and all opinions.

279  Economy / Lending / Re: Loan requests by scammers have been reduced! on: October 31, 2014, 05:53:16 AM

280  Economy / Lending / Re: Medium Loan Request - 10-15% Interest, 30-45 days, Collateral and Escrow on: October 31, 2014, 05:28:42 AM
I can loan you upto 0.5BTC for sufficient collateral. No escrow required. But i am not against it.

What happens if the altcoin drops value?

I had hoped to have minimum of 1 btc per individual to keep this less chaotic. Escrow is essential to hold the collateral and arrange transfers.
