261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Faircoin - MULTIPOOL PAYS --- 20%--- BONUS! for the next week!! on: April 22, 2014, 08:18:28 AM
Where are the multipool payouts, it is now Tuesday. Are they going to contain the 20% bonus as well. I am sure many here would like to know.

Does anyone know?

I stopped wasting my hashes on that multipool and switched to mining/buying FairCoin @ HashCows...

See: http://fair-coin.info/
"You can now mine Faircoins using the Multipool (powered by HashCows)!"
"Our own simple multipool is retird. Final payout round will go out on monday. please direct your rigs to HashCows by then!"

If anyone is not convinced yet, see http://poolpicker.eu/ to find out that HashCows is the most profitable pool at the moment.

This is the right idea. Pls consider building a regular multipool!

To me that looks like a waste of time, resources and energy. The BlackCoinPool is one of the least profitable pools there is Sad
I'd rather see that time invested in securing the network, upgrading the wallet and promoting the coin  Grin

Ohnoes! Despair! Disbelieve! Omgggg  Shocked

Ah well, we all know it.. The only thing I don't know is if we have hit rock bottom yet Wink

Mining FAC @ HashCows goes great. Transparant & profitable. Got another payment this morning.

263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Faircoin - MULTIPOOL PAYS --- 20%--- BONUS! for the next week!! on: April 21, 2014, 06:59:53 PM

I remember buying BC at 706 Satoshi. I'm still slapping myself for not buying more back then lol
Same goes for USDe. But with those I bought enough to be happy with when it goes huge.
I assume FAC will do the same in time. Alas these miracles don't happen over night Sad

264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Faircoin - MULTIPOOL PAYS --- 20%--- BONUS! for the next week!! on: April 20, 2014, 09:33:26 AM
I tried to transfer some of my FAC funds to MintPal yesterday, but they remain stuck in my transactionoverview Sad
I'm using the latest version of the wallet.

"version" : "v0.9.0.1-gdf9d55a-beta",
"protocolversion" : 80501,
"walletversion" : 60000,

Any suggestions?

I tried the following:
- Deleting all files except wallet.dat (AppDate/Faircoin)
- FairCoin-qt.exe -rescan
- FairCoin-qt.exe --rescan

Other (and newer) transactions transfer w/o much hassle.

Major dumping on mintpal.... Someone sold 10 btc worth at 300. Now dumpers dump... So depressing, I entered at 300 Sad

This post got me thinking... We're talking about major dumping like omg wtf bbq. I mean.. really? What are we mumbling about? It's not odd for BC to go up & down somewhere in the 5000 to 10000 range and we're complaining about 500 to 1000 Satoshis?

One look at the market on MintPal shows me that there is hardly any volume in the sell orders. Most of the time the prices just jump 10 to 20 Satoshi per stack. Seriously?

We have a great coin here:
- Great distribution
- Active Developer
- HashCows MultiPool
- Interesting PoS
- Impossible to mine
- Only ~50.000.000 coins (that's halve of BC and about twice BTC)

In short; It is our market! and we allow our FairCoin to be sold cheap!

No offence, but we should stop fooling around and set the sell price for what this coin is worth to you and create some volume. The bagholders of FairCoin must control the market, it is not the other way around. "You want to buy our great coin? Pay for it!"

I tried put the numbers into excel.
Start = 18b
1 year + 20%
2 year + 15%
3 year + 10
4 year + 5%
5 year + 5%
...

With these numbers do we hit 70b around 2036

Please correct me if I am wrong.
Starting at Block 100806 starting coins were 18,610,787,329.137546 that was March 9th, 2014 (about 37 days ago now)
We are now at 18,836,728,001.351253 coins outstanding; divide the difference by 37 days and you get about $6.2MM coins per day avg being added to the money supply. this comes out to approximately ~12%

Seriously? Wow! I didn't think of this to be honest. I was just trying to get as much mint as possible haha.
So there's only 27% of the max amount of mint currently 'available'? I thought everything was mined and that we were minting on top of the 70b.
That makes the stack of mint I have much more valuable all of a sudden Smiley

+1 these graphs should be on the frontpage!

what we need .

1 new multipool with dev behind

without these , its smell shit for this coin

Folks,
Seriously...

Stop messing around with custom failing multipools. Hashcows already accepts MINT, BC, ZEIT and BTC as payout option. So where's FairCoin?!

@Dev; please talk to the folks from HashCows and get this coin on the radar!
269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Faircoin - MULTIPOOL pays 5% bonus. MANDATORY update before block 4800! on: April 14, 2014, 12:09:17 PM
buy wall at 5000 if someone want dump in ^^

Aaaaand it's gone lol

Someone is playing and trying to lower the price to buy some more, that is normal for every coin that is worth something!!
So people chill ,smoke something and relax!! Smiley

Can't say it doesn't get on my nerves too haha...

But in the end I know that:
- the total nr of FairCoins is only half of the number of BlackCoins
- FairCoin is much more interesting to keep due higher (but not too high) PoS (BC 1%, FAC 6%/3%/1.5%)
- Afaik nicer distribution
- The coin is popular, 24h volume between 500 and 1000 BTC

[ Out of the topic ] Can anyone help me out for configuring sgminer (N scrypt support ) for Windows 8.1 x64 with 4GB ram for R9 270 / 280X / 290.
If I use my standard settings when i'm on BAMT under Windows it's crashing. Can I even mine with 4GB ram ?

Thanks,

I'm getting 405 kh/s with 3% rejects on a R9 290 (3GB?) with these settings, using vertcoin-miner and stock settings:
-I 17 --lookup-gap 2 -w 256 --gpu-engine 947 --gpu-memclock 1250 --thread-concurrency 22528

Using the R9 270x 4GB, I get about 180 kh/s with no rejects using these settings, slightly higher then stock OC'ed:
-w 256 -I 17 -g 1 --lookup-gap 2 --thread-concurrency 16000

If anyone can do better, please let me know as well :-)

there will always be a temptation to switch to another coin and try, if that option is provided, being it is a basic human nature.
Even if you say the followers/believers will always be there..even they can be brainwashed.
In a dedicated pool..its "WE THE GROUP" feeling and will stick to it for a long time..

Trying out other coins... Imho that's not necessarily a bad thing. I don't like to put all my eggs in one basket Wink
I have a few favorite coins, Zeitcoin is among those. I'd love to see the option to automatically distribute my hash-to-buypower over those coins in a way that I see fit. For example 50% buy power on Zeit, another 25% on coin A and the last 25% just on BitCoin.

I think a dedicated ZEIT Multipool, like that of BlackCoin, will be a better idea than hashcows.
Isn't there anyone one who can start a Multipool. Huh

I think if you're competing with pools like HashCows or Clevermining (http://poolpicker.eu/) you're in for a surprise regarding maintenance, payout logic, picking the right coins at the right time and profitability... At HashCows they already have the infrastructure and tons of experience for running a multipool. All multipools have to do (and will probably start doing soon) is make the output switchable/tradable to coins other than BitCoin. HashCows is the first pool that has done exactly this and has improved their featureset ever since.
274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Faircoin - The First Fairly Distributed coin. MULTIPOOL We added 5% bonus on: April 09, 2014, 04:54:05 PM
324 btc vol in the last 24 hours!!! \m/ \m/
yep, and the price maybe down now.

It's gonna climb soon!!!

Seriously.. how can faircoin get so much traction all of a sudden? There's only 10 btc required to get back to <2000 sat, how does that compare to 324 btc volume?. Buy/sell doesn't look healthy either. see https://cryptrader.com/. To me it feels like someone is pumping btc around just to get to such a high volume, raising the price in the process with cheap bought faircoin. Maybe even feeding of our auto-buying-multipool with high sell orders.  Huh
275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EFL] Electronic Gulden - DUTCH CRYPTO - FAIR DISTRIBUTION! on: April 03, 2014, 07:24:25 PM
Good news! We have updated our distribution system. No longer do people have to worry about their privacy when it comes to claiming their share of Electronic Gulden.

Applicants are able to redeem their share of EFL by sending 0,01 euro to the bankaccount of Advertouch. As a reference they will need to add their personal EFL wallet address to which a share of EFL will be distributed. All this will happen in an automated environment.

Combined with a valid certificate and a nice token system - nice!  Thank you!
So I filled in the form, transferred the 0.01 euro, shared it with the family and now waiting for the coins to arrive  Cool

Just a point of interest; if this is gonna hit the news tomorrow, can the site carry the load? Anti DDoS, wallet on a mirror, etc. Because right now I'm getting a 502 Tongue
276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EFL] Electronic Gulden - DUTCH CRYPTO - DISTRIBUTION STARTED! on: March 30, 2014, 08:49:12 PM
Okay, besides the fact that you just totally ignored my security concerns and you just waved away the possibility that what you're doing is against the law...  Huh

Anyways:

KISS:
- Ask people to share paper wallets at local supermarkets (lots of work, but you'll probably find people crazy enough, plus you'll reach way more people with much power to invest EFL)
- Fully (or semi) automated and even much more simple is to just open an bankaccount. Have people deposit 0.01 euro with the EFL address in the comment field, parse the results and pay out the EFL. You can't guarantee that some people won't use different bankaccounts, but at least you can verify that they are Dutch (or have a dutch bank account) and only claim once per account. If that isn't good enough for ya, then go from there and tech upgrade (forms, email validation, etc) until you have a method that's less intrusive and controversial, but still safe and easy to use. With this method you can even buy a decent supply of beer afterwards...

There are probably a dozen more easy solutions, but I'll let those up to you to think out.
277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EFL] Electronic Gulden - DUTCH CRYPTO - DISTRIBUTION STARTED! on: March 30, 2014, 07:15:41 PM
What I am even more concerned with than sharing some of my personal details, is security. As stated before; sites like this will catch a lot of agro.
For starters; has there been a pen test for this site?  Afaik the sources are written in php; have the queries been escaped properly?
Another point; is the data encrypted in the DB with a public/private key pair? Especially the BSN number and address fields?
And last but not least; it's missing https! C'mon, it isn't that expensive to register a certificate...

Given the picture of my ID (possibly with blurred BSN) is one thing, but allowing my BSN to be stored (possibly plain text) in some random DB is just too much.

http://www.rijksoverheid.nl/onderwerpen/paspoort-en-identificatie/vraag-en-antwoord/ben-ik-verplicht-om-een-kopie-van-mijn-identiteitsbewijs-te-geven-aan-een-bedrijf.html
Quote

So to the dev; you are violating our privacy by claiming our BSN number. To validate the dutch identity the ID number should be sufficient. No copy is required, and especially not our BSN!
278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EFL] Electronic Gulden - the Netherlands [EXCHANGE!!!!]] on: March 22, 2014, 01:57:30 PM
From what I've read they ask for 2 bills of any kind and not for your id's to keep your privacy. They only do this to recognize that you're a Dutch citizen.
On the other hand,  like you said there might be a part that does not trust it and won't redeem their coins. In my point of view this is a good way to check whether you are a citizen for a fair distribution.

Agreed and that's not what I'm worrying about (so much). It's the part where the DB/inbox/application/whatever containing those proof of residence docs gets (w)hacked and our residential data gets scattered around the interwebs. So many people 'trusted' (read $$$) MtGox with their personal data. After all the recent events, would you still trust them with your home address?

Edit: I'd reccon you'll get the fairest distribution and the most trading power for this coin if you distribute it along people other then forum-lurking-altcoin-collecting-miners-with-no-money-to-share (no offence and including myself Wink). The sollution is fairly I easy I think. Just suit some people up, make the coins portable (paper wallet, USB stick) and go to different AH's in the major cities. Give those coins/wallet to the families/people and tell them a nice story about CryptoCoins. Combine that with maybe a Android wallet app, QR codes, or whatever - could be as simple as a redeem ticket. Maybe even put up a stand with a 25 gulden look-a-like bill.
What's left to do is finding out which laws apply when you set down your distributionpoint.

What, your point being?
You think a scam can't mix with an .com domain?

You'd rather put your faith in a .tk (lol, i wrote the 'dot dot tk' here and I got a 'suspicious link removed') or .info address? Wink
Ofcourse, anything is possible given you have the time and patience to set everything up correctly (and break more then one law in the process). However a .com address has fairly strict policies about it's registar data. Not like a .nl address where you can just have that data masked by your hosting provider.

279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EFL] Electronic Gulden - the Netherlands [EXCHANGE!!!!]] on: March 22, 2014, 12:30:14 PM
I dont know why people call this coin a scam. I know this guy and he is legit.

I think this is legit as well. Setting up a scam/con and registering a .com domain (http://www.e-gulden.com/) don't mix very well.

What I am most concerned with is privacy; I don't really feel happy about delivering one (ore more) utility bills and/or copy's of ID's online just to get 25 EFL. Stuff just gets hacked when there is money involved. I'd rather spent a poststamp on it (or mail a PDF) then filling in an online form.
