Terrible announcement. I haven't been following FAC for the past two weeks, but this is definitely a step in the wrong direction. Look at what happened with Lottocoin/NobleCoin. Infrastructure got bigger, but the coin lost 90% of its value.

If you want to pump the coin, play games with the community. As an example, draw random prizes (like GFX cards) as FAC reaches new highs, etc. Do multipool promotions,... No one expects an altcoin to become an actual currency, there's BTC for that

I stopped wasting my hashes on that multipool and switched to mining/buying FairCoin @ HashCows...

To me that looks like a waste of time, resources and energy. The BlackCoinPool is one of the least profitable pools there is
I'd rather see that time invested in securing the network, upgrading the wallet and promoting the coin

I've invested a few days ago in a significant amount  ofFaircoin
and I hope to take good advantage of my investment .
Rather than sit around waiting for the price I thought up to help to create value , taking profit of my business experience.

This has led me to look a bit in this thread and from there i want to share some ideas and concrete proposals.

First, Faircoin has a good distribution of coins, a good design to gain value (POS )
and a good name. These things are important for success, but may not be sufficient to create value. There are every day more competence between coins, so we need to do more.

Ideas:

1. Bulding the success of faircoin should be something collective. We can not expect the developer to do all the important work. Just watching as the success of Dogecoin we can see that there are many people who did not know before and are now making it possible every day . And that works well in a decentralized manner . Any of us can launch a new faircoin project.

2. We need to  explote the FAIR concept and that may be one of the most important ways to give value to the coin. Distinguished from other currencies can give much more value than repeat what others do . There are many areas of business in which the key concept is FAIR and might be happy to use faircoin before any other cryptocurrencies ( fair trade , the jurist industry , arbitration and mediation sector, among others

First concrete proposals
1 . We need to combine this thread with a social network to communicate in a more organized and more attractive to the public, way . I think it would be important to revive the subreddit www.reddit.com/r/thefaircoin so  'i have posted  the proposal No. 2 and I invite you to log-in and participate .

2. With the aim of creating  their own market, Faircoin should become the coin of fair trade , which moves annually over 5 billion dollars.  in international trade , which can be very beneficial to avoid bank fees for international transactions of their products, and reduce their cost.

or add server=1 to your .conf

So I did exactly as you said and added server=1 to my config and then unlocked my wallet from command line, but I still didn't get any coins yet ... I don't get it.
I have some other PoS-Coins, and minting works with every other coin then FAC ...

I'm in since day 1, so there should be some coins minted already or am I wrong?

It might help build trust in the dev and the coin if the multipool payments promised yesterday would actually go out. I'll be on poloniex all week and other sites advising everyone this is a scam coin. I waited a week and than even to the day he said he would pay and still nothing. This is very disappointing as i really wanted this coin to work but now i'll do my best to make sure it fails!
