Wow, this thread sure smells like FUD lately.

Lets see here, who am I gonna trust when it comes to deciding whether or not something is okay. The dev whose name and background I know, or the person hiding behind a screen name claiming that everything is in trouble.

Let me think...

Nice use of logical fallacy, it would make sense I guess if you ignored all the evidence and example code I provided.

Not required. That would be making my decision on the narrow scale. Besides, I neither code nor am inclined to learn how, so I must trust someone. Too many variables at play here. You make it public when you could have made it known privately and directly, which would have been more efficient. You make claims to your experience and worth, yet provide no proof. Your post history speaks for itself.

I am simply applying Occam's Razor. It's rarely wrong, and it says you are full of sh*t.

I wonder how long it will take for people to start realizing interested parties can make a graph do things. And then people do certain insanely predictable things based on the graph. And then someone somewhere laughs and takes your cheap VRC.

Good lord...people here talk about Wall Street coming to cryto like it will be some salvation. They'll come here all right, and eat every last person who eats, breathes and sleeps traditional TA alive...

Anyhow, keep selling please. I'll take cheap VRC.

Well actually i work at a major polish investment bank so i konw a little about it Smiley

That's exactly my point. Everything is too damn predictable.

I'm sure some folks are making decent swing trades during this volatility, some *has* to after all, but I just feel sorry for the people who aren't looking at the long game and getting burned by the puppeteer pulling strings.

I kind of compare this phase in crypto to the advent of credit cards.

First there was the store specific credit cards, from places like Sears, Macy's, etc. You could only use them at at their own specific stores though, and were therefore limited in usefulness. Then came along Bank Americard. Usable anywhere a merchant would take it.

Today, stores still have their own credit cards, and people still use them from time to time, but the market cap of them is small, and obviously still limited in use.

Bank Americard is now what the world knows as Visa, the largest payment processor worldwide.

History has a tendency to repeat itself.

I've not seen a bigger gimmick than veribit in all my years in crypto currency.  How do you guys not see this? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills...

You are looking at it as someone already familiar with cryptocurrency, and comfortable with the use of exchanges. You have to abandon that narrow field of vision and look at the potential from the outside. Every pretentious tard around here is waiting for 'moon' and 'Wall Street' and 'mass adoption'....but that doesn't happen on it's own. It requires greater market penetration, innovation, exposure, ease of use, the list goes on and on.

To you it may be a gimmick. To me it's one more step in the ongoing movement that is cryptocurrency.

To be honest mate, not to sound harsh....but if you can't see the potential this brings when we live in a world where everyone just wants "faster", "simpler" and "easier", then you are beyond my help.

OMG...that Pastebin...

I don't think I've ever laughed so f***ing hard in my life...

NOSTER?

There aren't words for the fail...

Now, let the panic buys commence...

So thin on the sell side...less than 80 BTC to go back to 50k+.

I'm kinda tempted to turn this train around just to piss in the wheaties of the jerkoff abusing that poor overused guy fawkes logo.
269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VRC] | VeriCoin | PoS - Dynamic Interest | SMS | ANON on: June 28, 2014, 07:32:57 PM
im out
what a fun ride we had!  Shocked

Pretty Dumb decision. If you cannot tell the following, then you do not deserve to be RICH anyways:

1. VRC will be the $50mill+ next week. Yes, next week.
2. VRC will surpass LTC in less than a month. Yep.
3. There will be ups and downs along the way. Because, Day traders are slowing losing their BTC trying to Swing Trade. Swingtrading does not work when an investment is going Parabolic like VRC  Grin

The top 1% hold most of the wealth in the world, not because they are smarter. It is because people like you are STUPID.

Sorry to be so frank, but this is the Investment of a lifetime. (Until someone does it better, this is an easy 100X). Then, when something better comes along, I will make another 100X because I will reinvest in that and become a Billionaire. Grin

Posts like this are a sure indicator to sell, and a strong indicator to never come back.

Basing your investment strategy off of the post of randoms on a forum is a strong indicator that you shouldn't be trading.

barabbas the insufferable troll who's crying because he didn't buy VRC early which i just ignored.  Grin

I thought about ignoring him, really hard in fact.

But in the end, I just can't bring myself to deprive my days of such quality entertainment. Don't get me wrong, I mean if I had to listen to that in person I'd probably shove him out a window, but on the interwebz it's kinda like stopping to read the horoscope in the newspaper. You feel somewhat dumber for having done so, but it was good for a chuckle all the same.
271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VRC] | VeriCoin | PoS - Dynamic Interest | SMS | ANON on: June 27, 2014, 05:33:01 PM
What if VRC reaches 1,000,000 satoshis before summer's end?

Maybe if developers fulfill all their promises.
And if people and market will like this coin and adopt it.

How many users it has so far? one hundred or one thousand maybe?
I think now it is overpriced, there is no need for this coin to be expensive in comparison with bitcoin. If it drop down back under previous price I start to think to buy some, Not for this price

Not to sound too terribly insulting here...but you are nuts. In case you hadn't noticed, VRC is now almost a pseudo-substitute for Bitcoin. Once people start putting two and two together, this is going to go bonkers.

Personally, I don't think 1+ mil satoshi per VRC is an "if", I think it is a "when".
272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VRC] | VeriCoin | PoS - Dynamic Interest | SMS | ANON on: June 26, 2014, 03:40:40 PM
panic dump on mintpal...someone want more and cheap coins... sell wall @ 0.00029670   100000.00000000   vrc
That's not a panic dump. A panic dump is when someone sells a large amount into the buys, namely, dumps straight out of the coin they are in into BTC.

That sell wall is an attempt at market manipulation, that's all. Check the network dynamic stake rate, I think you'll find there are more people staking by holding coins in their wallets than keeping them on exchanges for trading.

+1

At over 14 mil currently staking, the total sum on exchanges is pretty darn small comparatively. That 100k sellwall is there to panic people into dumping, and it looks like it got a few.

If that whale pulls that wall, and the other couple smaller ones that went up that I'm guessing are his, it will take less than 20 BTC to send the price up to 33-35k again.

Never. Panic. Sell.
273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VRC] | VeriCoin | PoS - Dynamic Interest | SMS | ANON on: June 25, 2014, 11:35:26 PM

Unfortunately, too many of us know first hand who he is.

Now, back to VeriCoin business. I bought my family pizza for supper tonight using Vericoin via VeriBit. I've gotta say: I love this coin!!!

Do we have a new entry into the "Most Expensive Pizzas Ever" contest now?

274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VRC] | VeriCoin | PoS - Dynamic Interest | SMS | ANON on: June 25, 2014, 04:27:16 PM
Just remember folks, before you panic sell. The order book going all the way back up to 35k+ is pretty thin relatively. It could literally nap back in seconds. Always keep that in mind.

DRK 'crashed' pretty hard just before it went parabolic. Don't do something you're gonna regret.
275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VRC] | VeriCoin | PoS - Dynamic Interest | SMS | ANON on: June 24, 2014, 12:49:58 AM
Again with the FUD barabbas?

Once again, you make a big long-winded atrocity of English composition that is really nothing more than a very colorful and sleight of hand reminiscent way of attempting to paint your own personal opinions and assumptions as fact. In politics, we would call this 'spin', and it's tediously unimaginative, and more than somewhat annoying.

Your entire post can be more expediently summarized as "Hi, I'm barabbas and here's a bunch of speculative assumptions that I will now attempt to portray as having merit to cast doubt upon this cryptocurrency and hopefully cause a sell-off".

Serious investors don't care about what name is on a degree the developer of something holds. They care about evidence of a track record of ability to succeed, which these three have in spades. You attempt to paint unsubstantiated assumptions as facts, and specifically as faults or weaknesses, when in reality they are only side notes to begin with. Long story short...you are just looking to find and blabber about some problem, and are more than willing to manufacture what you cannot find.

Shoo...

If you want a really good indicator of the future of this coin, look at how much the network stake has increased in the last 48 hours. People are picking up Vericoin for a long term investment, not a play-the-swings exchange pump.

The available supply on exchanges is dwindling pretty rapidly. More people are becoming aware of Vericoin and it's potential. The equation becomes pretty self explanatory fairly fast.

277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VRC] | VeriCoin | PoS - Dynamic Interest | SMS | ANON on: June 22, 2014, 03:40:13 PM
I'm sorry, but wtf happened to this coin and its devs ? Greed took over ? Secret feature release ? Mysterious "badass" dev3 ready to reveal himself ?

Are you shitting me ? These are the typical messages for a pump&dump scheme. I hope i'm wrong. I always had respect for Vericoin.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with taking a few small steps to increase the hype surrounding an altcoin that has consistently delivered. I strongly suspect you need to reevaluate how you are viewing these recent announcements. Perhaps if these actions were viewed in a self contained vacuum disregarding all previous development, I could maybe see some vague resemblance to P&D, but that would require a level of tunnel vision that would make me question your judgement in even looking at investing period.

If you're FUD'ing, then I don't really care, have at it as no one here buys that anymore. If you are sincere and having a momentary lapse in judgement...then I would currently advise you to take a couple deep breaths and relax, look at the big picture, and remember there are folks out there who sold BTC at $2 and thought they beat the 'pump and dump'.

Sorry guys but i am out on this one, took a 0.75 BTC position at 15K coin showed great innovation and future but each time it starts to grow inn value the following dump is sending it lower and am going to have to cut my losses before they get to big. Verisend was great in theory bringing in a whole new market to crypto, but in practice is just to slow and that new market that are used to nearly instant payment transfers are not going to hold interest in Verisend the way it stands. Good luck to devs and anyone holding and hope i am wrong but long term downtrend makes this to risky of a investment for me and my partner. Will keep checking back on VRC and if i see practical innovation one day will be thinking about getting back in, has been a fun ride.

I strongly suspect you will regret that. The price is being consistently forced downward, with substantial buys occurring after every dump. Someone is trying to force weak hand sells and accumulating a pretty staggering amount of Vericoin. There's only one reason someone would do this, which means you sold at a loss when as sure as the sun will rise in the east tomorrow you wouldn't have had to given a little patience.
280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VRC] | VeriCoin | PoS - Dynamic Interest | SMS | ANON on: June 18, 2014, 07:34:39 PM
You know, one quick stroll through barabbas' post history shows pretty clearly that he's not capable of doing much more than spew vitriol and bask in his own delusions of self importance. I really wouldn't concern yourself with just about any of his 'facts', as most are just largely subjective observations hardly worthy of the definition of the word. Talk about things like logos are unimportant, and will evolve themselves over time. Knowledge of Vericoin will also come over time as well...you would be better off to worry about too many people hearing about it too much to fast, since that's how bubbles happen..and subsequently burst. Slow and steady is just fine.

Realistically, at this stage in the game, the developers' communication and effort are the most important things, and from what I've seen since I started watching this particular coin, both are stellar. That is what will build the foundation for all the flashier junk barabbas seems obsessed about.

I've taken a comfortable long position on Vericoin, because I have faith in the developers, which is the only thing that gives any crypto any real value beyond manipulation pump and dump. I feel Vericoin is insanely undervalued at the moment, and has a very (no pun intended) good shot at becoming the #2 crypto behind Bitcoin. I am 100% sure that we will look back at today's prices and laugh our asses off at how cheap it was some time in the near future.

To the dev's: great work so far, keep it up, and let Vericoin grow at a healthy (not hype-pumped) pace.

Cheers  Smiley
